Firefox tries to start. I get a window that the selected website cannot be found. Then update window pops up showing various versions of JAVA needs to be loaded. I allow them to be loaded. When Firefox then starts after loading JAVA Consoles window pops up and says JAVA is not used by firefox and prompts to restart firefox deleting JAVA. This goes on constantly

Sometimes after trying to load videos, Firefox will not finish loading and will not load any website afterwards. The ONLY way to fix it is by pulling the modem for a few minutes.

When I try to load videos, there is a good chance the video will randomly stop loading, and nothing is accessible until I turn off the modem. Restarting my computer, clearing my browser cache, cookies, etc. None of that works. I've had "slightly" better luck immediately pausing a video and letting it buffer entirely, but that still doesn't work all the time. Surfing has just become a gamble until I just get frustrated.

Speed Dial continously tries to load in Firefox Home App for iPhone and what should I do?

yes guys, thank you all very much, I did all you say but nothing by the way in running the last version of firefox. But I really want to share with you guys that I found the reason of the problem. It was IDM. Internet Downloader Manager , I'd desinstall that program and it works fine just like before and redirect everything‼.I Noticed the problem when I uninstall that program (the other browsers wasn't able to redirect anywhere) I'm sorry for doubt about firefox‼‼ My mistake... but there you have it, for all of you having the same problem, that was the real solution.beware if you do not clean the registry you do not be able to run any browser because of IDM.

When a html coded page requires the Windows Symbol font, Firefox does not call it, and the English alphabet characters display instead. How can I get the Symbol font to work when the page is loaded in Firefox??

This site shows Greek letters and Greek words by calling for the Windows Symbol font. The page(s) involved display correctly in Internet Explorer, but not in Firefox 3.6.1 or 8.1. In Firefox, the Greek letter does not appear, it is just replaced with the English letter for the equivalent keystroke. Here is a html line that ought to cause Symbol's Greek letter lowercase alpha to be displayed, but all you get is an "a" :

Reemphasizing, the page code works on Internet Explorer. It does _not_ work with Firefox ver 3.6.1 nor ver 8.0.1 (which I upgraded to, to see if that would solve the problem). The MDC FAQ solution is not a solution, because it forces the html coder to change his language just to accommodate Firefox. Firefox needs to change to conform to standards.

I think Firefox wants you to use _its_ font faces, not the standard Windows fonts. They do not have a Symbol font to replace the Windows TTF, I guess.

My webserver has a lot of images which will never change. So, I set Expires month forward in such cases:

Cache-control: public
Enough for IE 9, my server is not disturbed.
But for FF8 and FF9 in following two scenarios my settings are ignored:
1) Close browser. Open browser, look at about:cache - all my files are on place. Open my page - server receives requests for all cached files. And nothing in request allowing server to detect that cache exists.
2) Press Reload button or F5. Again all cached files required. But now requests have
Cache-Control: max-age=0
So, server has some idea about situation and probably can respond with 304.
Only 3) works as I proposed: after 1), open page once more - in the same or another tab. In this case, server receives only requests for files with restricted caching.
Current workaround: I add Last-Modified to response. In this case, I receive If-Modified-Since and can respond with 304. But I have hundreds of small images, so bandwidth for 304 is almost same as for 200 with complete file.
Browser cache settings - all defaults. I use numeric server addresses in current test environment like http://192.168.47.130:27374
I experimented with different modifications of Cache-Control response - without success.
And additional question - how can I make a line break in this editor? If I make a line break and empty line, I get line break and empty line. But if I make a simple line break, I get nothing in resulting text.

As I understand, all partial checks say that cache is good. But ending doValidation=1, probably, means that request will be sent. Do not see any reason.

Trouble shooting flashing "special characters" screen on my MacBook. Restarting, Shutting down, removing and placing battery again does not stop it. The flashing screen is blank with a turning gear as if loading, but it does not.

Ummm, nope. All due respects, this problem cropped up suddenly, at about the same time, for multiple users, on different laptop types. Probability of all this happening at once due to simultaneous hardware failures is much lower than if it was caused by say a software update not playing well with something (a piece of 3rd party software, etc). I'm having the same exact problem, I have put a new battery in, same thing happens.
This is similar to 3 or so years ago when widgets were first introduced, laptop battey lifes dropped to about 1/3 and the machines heated up. General consensus was it must be hardware, well no it was software, and a software fix took care of it. I'm hoping someone figures this out soon...

When I run "Verify Java Version" it show nothing is installed... but it is, I know that for a fact because it shows in my "Control Panel/Programs/Programs and Features".
When I go back to the Java Download page, the following message is visible:

No, you can't change Firefox from 32-bt to 64-bit. There is a Nightly 64-bit version (alpha) of Firefox, but it is used only to test for regressions until development is resumed.

It is possible that your anti-virus software is corrupting the downloaded files or otherwise interfering with downloading files by Firefox. 
You can try to disable the real-time (live) scanning of files in your anti-virus software temporarily to see if that makes downloading work.

The error message probably said "unsupported or damaged"
The T3 requires Lightroom 3.4.1 or later. You can either upgrade to a more current version of Lightroom (version 5.6 is the most recent) or you can use the free Adobe DNG Converter to convert the RAWs to DNG, which should import into Lightroom properly.

You can currently only gift content (apps, music, gift certificates) to people whose account is based in the same country as yourself - so if you and your account are not UK-based then you can't gift to a UK account holder. How to invoke a jsp page from java which does not use Servlets?

I am working in Documentum. I am trying to invoke a jsp page from another java page which does not use Servlets.
I tried doing this by just instantiating the java class related to the jsp page from my present java class.In my java class related to the jsp page, I have defined onInit() and onRender() methods.
Now, I am trying to call the jsp page from my present java class by just instantiating the java class related to the jsp page. This throws a java.lang.NullPointerException.
Any comments or suggestions on this.Any help would be appreciated.

hello davidrusso71, press windows-key+R on your computer and open ''%appdata%\Mozilla\'' - an explorer window should come up, in there rename the folder labelled "Firefox" to something like oldFirefox. on the next start of firefox this should lead to a new profile being created...

I'm trying to load data using Essbase Studio. Everything was working fine, the load used to occur very quickly.
After updating the SQL query to load a larger period ( 5 years instead of 2 ), the load fails after exactly 10 minutes ! I'm wondering if there's a timeout configuration or something similar in Essbase because I have other cubes that has large queries that are stopping after exactly 10 minutes.
The environment is:
Essbase 11.1.2.1 on Linux 64 bits
Data source: Oracle 10r2 database
