Java.util.zip.ZipException while ejb clustering
Hi,
Trying to do some Clustering with 2 weblogic servers version 5.1
(sp8)
No Problem when the servers individually started up, but when one is started whilst
the other is already running, I get the following error.
any clues what is going on? Seems to be something wrong with
the (generated) jar files under clusterName/ServerName/tmp-
deployments on the other machine. I tried already deleting
them, but still no hope!
Is there anyone to help me???
Thanx in advance,
Kishore

Make sure that the directory paths are identical for the different instances in

Hi All,
We are using WLS 5.1 clustering. 2 WLS are running in 2 different unix box in same subnet. But we are getting the following exception ( Though all the Beans have been deployed successfully).

Fri Jan 25 16:57:22 MST 2002:<E> <MulticastSocket> Multicast socket receive error: java.lang.RuntimeException: I/O error opening JAR file from file:/opt/wlogic/weblogic/obscluster/server113/tmp_deployments/ejbjar-4247.jar
(cluster name we have changed to obscluster )
This Exception is coming in both the servers The difference is that the server whose ip ends with 112 is trying to open the file from server113 dir and the server whose ip ends with 113 is trying to open the file from server112 dir.
In web I have found that if the directory structure of 2 servers doesn't match then this porblem can arise. But for both of my servers the directory structure is same , at least until /opt/wlogic/weblogic/obscluster/ and then the directory server113 or server112 is created by Weblogic automatically when I have started the Server.
Any help regarding this will be very helpful.
Thanks & Regards
Srijeeb.Hi everyone,
I think I have got the solution. Using sp11. added sp11 related jar in PRE_CLASSPATH . Problem Solved....
Thanks

I think problem may be with ZIP file, try to open with WinZip, if it opens
try to extract to some folder and once again zip it, then try with new file.

Java.util.zip.ZIPException
We are using Oracle Application Server 10g (10.1.2) with AIX OS version 5.3 release 6.
We are getting error while deploying a "*.war" file. Below is the full error we have got during the installation.
Error starting from below.
Failed to deploy web application. File /tmp/dir1341.tmp/abc.war is not a jar file.
Resolution :
Base Exception:
java.util.zip.ZIPException
Error opening zip file /tmp/dir1341.tmp/abc.war
Error opening zip file /tmp/dir1341.tmp/abc.war
Kindly suggest the best provided solution for the same.
Also let us know about the error belongs Oracle AS application?
OR
AIX OS Level error?Well as the error suggests, it is neither related to OracleAS nor AIX OS. It is complaining about the WAR file you are trying to deploy. Make sure your abc.war is a well formed WAR file. You can search google for tool to validate a war file.
Thanks

Java.util.zip.ZipException: invalid entry size error -- help required
Hi all
I am sure this error would have been posted many number of times, but I would really appreciate if someone could help me with my problem. I am working on reading data from a .zip file, which in it has ~5GB data. All I am performing is a read operation through the piece of code specified below. This code worked well for .zip files handling till ~2.5GB
FileInputStream fis = new FileInputStream(filename);
BufferedInputStream bis = new BufferedInputStream(fis);
ZipInputStream zis = new ZipInputStream(bis);
StreamTokenizer tok = new StreamTokenizer( zis );
ZipEntry entry;
while((entry = zis.getNextEntry()) != null)
\\read from the zip file through the streamTokenizer
I just print what I read through the program, on the console.
But the error I get is
java.util.zip.ZipException: invalid entry size (expected 4294967295 but got 2117536490 bytes)

Could anybody give me hints as to what am I missing and where am i going wrong. Any help would be appreciated.
ThanksHi,
I get the same exception while reading a ZIP file. The size if the ZIP file is just 82KB but I am reading it over FTP not sure if it makes any difference. I am using JDK 1.4.2_05. Here is the code I am trying to execute.
public class TestFTP {
public static void main( String[] argv ) throws Exception {
String inboundPath = "/transfer/inbound/";
FTPClient ftp = new FTPClient();
ftp.connect("123");
ftp.login( "123", "123" );
ftp.changeWorkingDirectory(inboundPath);
FTPFile[] zipFiles = ftp.listFiles("*.zip");
TelnetClient telnetClient;
for(int i=0;i<zipFiles.length;i++){
System.out.println(zipFiles.getName());
ZipInputStream zis = new ZipInputStream(ftp.retrieveFileStream(zipFiles[i].getName()));
for (ZipEntry entry = zis.getNextEntry(); entry != null; entry = zis.getNextEntry()){
System.out.println(entry.getName());
The error message is

Java.util.zip.ZipException error when building
Good Day All,
I am a newbie and this is my first JWS deployment. I have an app that I am writing in Netbeans 6.1 that I want to deploy via JWS. The app accesses five different JAR libraries and that is where my troubles started. I thought that I needed to figure a way to configure Netbeans so the libraries would be deployed with my app JAR so it would run correctly using JWS.
I was trying to get things working and now my problem is that when I build I am getting the following error:
init:
deps-jar:
compile:
Copy libraries to C:\Java\DataMed\dist\lib.
To run this application from the command line without Ant, try:
java -jar "C:\Java\DataMed\dist\DataMed.jar"
jnlp:
jnlp-init-generate-master:
C:\Java\DataMed\nbproject\jnlp-impl.xml:61: The following error occurred while executing this line:
C:Java\DataMed\nbproject\jnlp-impl.xml:386: java.util.zip.ZipException: error in opening zip file
BUILD FAILED (total time: 0seconds)Scrolling to line 386 in the jnlp-impl.xml file it says:
componentsprop="jnlp.components">I futzed with my options so much I can't seem to figure out how to get everything reset so I can get a clean build ! As a newbie to Netbeans I sometimes have difficulty figuring out where all the different things are hidden ... I **think** it all went bad when I was working on the Properties > Libraries > Compile > Compile-time Libraries but I can't remember.
So I have two questions really:
1) How can I resolve the ZipException error? I suspect it is one of the JAR libraries but how can I tell ?
2) How do I get JWS to find my five libraries ? I now suspect that I am supposed to upload the five libraries to the webserver and then in my JNLP it will have links to the libraries in the <resources> part of the code. Is that correct ?
Edited by: DBirdManAR on Aug 10, 2008 7:22 AM
Rather than spend to much time figuring this out, I just used my revert modifications through my SVN to go back to a previous version that builds correctly.Hi,
I have the same problem but I cannot solve it.
Help much appreciated.

I get the same exception while reading a ZIP file. The size if the ZIP file is just 82KB but I am reading it over FTP not sure if it makes any difference. I am using JDK 1.4.2_05. Here is the code I am trying to execute.
public class TestFTP {
public static void main( String[] argv ) throws Exception {
String inboundPath = "/transfer/inbound/";
FTPClient ftp = new FTPClient();
ftp.connect("123");
ftp.login( "123", "123" );
ftp.changeWorkingDirectory(inboundPath);
FTPFile[] zipFiles = ftp.listFiles("*.zip");
TelnetClient telnetClient;
for(int i=0;i<zipFiles.length;i++){
System.out.println(zipFiles.getName());
ZipInputStream zis = new ZipInputStream(ftp.retrieveFileStream(zipFiles[i].getName()));
for (ZipEntry entry = zis.getNextEntry(); entry != null; entry = zis.getNextEntry()){
System.out.println(entry.getName());
The error message is

Signed jar: java.util.zip.ZipException: invalid entry size
Hi, I have written an applet using Java 1.4. The applet contains multiple .class and .gif files. I jared the files to produce a single .jar file with the manifest. Then I signed that jar file with jarsigner that produced a self-signed jar with the certificate. When I run the applet in IE6 on my computer (Windows XP) it works fine - I got the certificate dialog box popping up and the applet loads normally. My computer does not have a Web server installed so everything happens locally.
As soon as I move the html and signed jar files to the server and try to call it from my PC, the Java console displays the following message:
java.util.zip.ZipException: invalid entry size (expected 1342177310 but got 7728 bytes)
at java.util.zip.ZipInputStream.readEnd(ZipInputStream.java:363)
at java.util.zip.ZipInputStream.read(ZipInputStream.java:142)

CachedJarLoader.java:53)
at sun.plugin.cache.CachedJarLoader$5.run(CachedJarLoader.java:335)
at java.security.AccessController.doPrivileged(Native Method)
etc... it's huge
I have been through the forums, some people have similiar problem while trying to sign their jar, well, mine signs OK, it's just the fact that it doesn't run ... I've tried to kill the manifest and then re-sign the jar. I also tried to jar the files with -0 option - nothing worked. I do appreciate if someone could point me in the right direction.
ThanksI have managed to work this one out: UNIX servers don't like jar files FTPed using ASCII. They should should be transferred in binary mode. I have installed an FTP client on my PC, switched to binary mode and re-transferred the jar file and it worked straight away.
Thanks. -

we `re facing a similar or the same problem.
While upgrading our machines from 1.5.0_10 t9 1.5.0_13 (JDK) we got this error:

java.util.zip.ZipException: invalid entry CRC (expected 0x0 but got 0xfc0d5d73)

Workaround:
We unzip the war-file and recommpress these files with 7-zip (or else) to bla.war - the new war file is deployable.
But:
Has anyone an idea the changes from *.10 to *.13 which provoke this error OR
has war files to be created in another way as "jar cvf filename.war *" in *.13..? -
Installed SOA 11.1.1.5 on Windows 7 - all seemed to go well. Using XE, jdk_16025x64, rcu, WLS 10.3.5, SOA 11.1.1.5. After install, started the Admin server - no problem. Started the soa_server and get the following error messages when try to start it up. The same error message appears two times as the SOA_server comes up.
How do I fix this error?
Thanks - Casey

IOException java.util.zip.ZipException: error in opening zip file
Hi Folks,
In my application one Zip file will be placed in the server. to unzip that zip file i have used java.util.Zip.
It is working fine.but some times it gets the following error.
**IOException java.util.zip.ZipException: error in opening zip file**
why is it so? but very rarely. I couldnt identify the exact scenario, where it causes the problem.
Normally that zip file contains set of images of customer.
Please share your inputs.
Thanks,
Balu.Thanks for ur reply.
EJB is not used in my application.
VC++ application at customer side prepares the zip file, and it will upload that zip to te server using ftp.
After uploading done, at the server end one java program(contains main function) will access that folder to unzip.
Thanks,
Balu. -
getting a java.util.zip.zipexception : a device attached to the system is not functioning error - what could cause such an error?
My program finds all zip files in an archive and then searches through them for xls files, which it extracts and re-locates.
I havent even a clue where to look for the cause of this exception but Ill attach at the bottom the code in the general vicitiny of the trigger so that you can get kind of an idea what Im trying to do, and if im lucky, even spot my problem. :) Thanks!!
//zips is an array of zip files
int found = 0;
File[] haveXLs = new File[zips.length];
for (int i = 0; i < zips.length; i++){
String fileName = new String("L:/Vision/Archive/" + zips.getName());
ZipFile archive = new ZipFile(fileName);
String name = zips[i].getName().substring(0,8);
for(Enumeration e = archive.entries(); e.hasMoreElements();){
ZipEntry entry = (ZipEntry) e.nextElement();
if(entry.getName().substring(0,8) == name){
haveXLs[found] = zips[i];
found++;Hey there a few things.
Make sure that you dont use fileseparators like you do. ("/")
Use the separator generated for your system.
Something like:
String sep = System.getProperty("file.separator");
You mentioned it work local, but not network.
Either you have plenty of harddrives or L: is a mapped drive.
Is it working at the mapped drive?
When you say on the network, how are you accessing the files?
Could it be possible for another user to lock a file, so you wont have access to it over the network?
BR.
