Java WAS System Copy for non-SR1 Systems

Hi,
I found the document describing the Java WAS system
copy for NW 2004SR1.
However, has anybody successfully copied a Java
WAS system (Especially if the SID was
changed) which was not SR1?
I understand how to copy the datafiles, recreate the
control files, adapt the default and instance
profiles, etc..
However, I am not sure which other parameters,
XML files, or database entries need to be changed.
This is for a development system (I wouldn't do this
for a production system).
Any information from somebody who succeeded to do
this would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks,
IF

Hi,
for system copy of SCM 4.0 use the document system copy for webas 6.20
https://websmp205.sap-ag.de/~sapdownload/011000358700002645032002E/syscopy620_140803.pdf
perform DB copy as note 151603 :Copying an SQL Server database (homogeneous system copy)
apply sap note 551915 - R/3 won't start after database restore or database copy after DB copy.
if you want to perform livecache copy also
check Note 457425 - Homogenous liveCache copy using backup/restore
also consider Note 886103 - System Landscape Copy for SAP SCM

  • Solution Manager System Monitoring for non SAP system

    Dear Support,
I have configured the CCMS Agent (SAPCCMSR) for non-SAP system (Windows 2008R2).
The system information (e.g. CPU, Memory, Disks etc) has already showed in RZ20 of Central Monitoring system (e.g. Solution Manager).
How can I do to configure to display these information in the Alert Inbox tab on System Monitoring Workcenter?
    Best regards,
    Fan Hung

    Hi,
Have you defined and added corresponding logical systems for the respective satellite systems?
Here is the sequence of steps you've to do:
    in SMSY:
    1) Define server, DB, Systems
    2) Generate READ, TMW, TRUSTED RFCs to the satellite systems
    3) define logical systems and assign the satellite system to it
    in Solution_Manager:
    1) define new solution
    2) add the logical system into the solution
If these steps are successful, you should be able to see the satellite system in SYSTEM MONITORING in Solution_Manager.
Have you already done these steps?
    After performing these steps:
    Solution_Manager>choose relevant solution>operations setup>Solution Monitoring>System monitoring>Activate monitoring> choose the system and activate monitoring.
    Your system will then appear.
    Does this help any way?

  • Homogeneous system copy for SQL server 2005

    Hi All,
I am currently investigating for the method to perform system copy for a PI system with SQL server 2005 database. Using the System Copy for SAP Systems Based on NW 7.0 SR2 ABAP+Java as guide, I can see reference to Note 151603. However, I am unable to get a copy of that note. Searching for the note from the official SAP Notes Search area indicated that it is currenytly only avaiable internally.
Would anyone know where I will be able to get a copy of that note?
    Thanks,

PI is version 7.1 (not 7.0) - so you need to use a different system copy guide.

    Hi All,
I am planning to do Homogeneous System copy of our production system to New Test system which SID is different from production system. I don't want to do system copy through SAPinst(R3load) because I cannot down our production server. I want to create the New test system from the offline back.
I have already installed our new system. I want  to do system copy through Oracle-Specific Procedure as mentioned in the system copy documents.
Could you please tell me how to do sytem copy step by step and how to change the SID.
    Thanks in advance.

  • System Copy for SAP Netweaver 2004 ABAP and Java

    Dear Friends,
We are planning to do System copy for CRM 4.0 (ABAP+Java) from PROD to Quality.
    Production has following
    Production
    CRP (ABAP+JAVA, Oracle 10g)
CR1 (Java Standalone, CRM Applications, Oracle 10g)
CR2 (Java Standalone, CRM Applications, Oracle 10g)
    Test
    CRT (ABAP+JAVA, Oracel 10g)
CR1 (Java Standalone, CRM Applications, Oracle 10g)
As per my understanding perfrom System Copy in two methods
    1. Using Offline backup of CRP from the Split Mirror backup.
    2. Export of the CRP from the Split Mirror backup.

If you have Split Mirror available you could definitely use it. Redirected restore or export/import are the alternatives. You could also use file copy (system offline is preferred).

  • System copy for ECC 6.0 system no j2ee process under MMC

    Dear support,
This has been observed in many of our clients system which are on ECC 6.0 abap+java system, that after we perform system copy from one system to another
whether it is Oracle platform or mssql server platform ( system copy for oracle using controlfile script ) ( system copy for mssql with restoring .BAK file from source )
systems are running fine but j2ee process table showing no processes like
    SDM, dispatcher , server0
even configtool and go.bat are unable to connect.
Is there any specific settings we do after system copy for java side
Please let me know at earliest, as it is most strange thing i have seen in almost all my system where system copy is performed.I have already raised a post against this error but at that time i was not aware of this system copy reason behind the same.
    Best regards,
    AjitR

Your main problem is not, that you don't see anything in MMC (the system can be added manually without much hazzle) - but is, that you database content of schema SAP<SID>DB does not match the data found on the filesystem.
If you copy the filesystem structure from production to test/qa, you need to make sure, the database and filesystem are in sync. You will have two problems if you "just copy them":
    - They are out of sync because your production was going on running since you copied the backup files
    - all configuration (all java property sheets) is/are set to point to the production system instead of the test/qa system
I doubt, that it will work if you copy it over. This also explains, why you can't even start configtool, because it points to the wrong system/schema. You MAY be able to fix all that manually, but you may encounter subsequent errors because not all configuration is documented, you would need to step into the whole j2ee tree and look at each and every propertysheet to find out, whether it's correct or not. Additionally, the database may have other information (see above) and all that may become overwritten during bootstrap.
So - the best way to get your system up and running quickly is to start sapinst on the source system, export your Java instance (not using ABAP but the Java dump) and re-importing that to your test/qa system.

  • Homogeneous system copy for 4.7.x.1.1 windows/oracle 9.2.0.3.0

I plan Homogeneous system copy for 4.7.x.1.1 windows/oracle at a
    customer
downloaded tools(do I have to put extracted files on the sorce machine
    in kernel directory?):
    MIGMON_2-20001410
    MIGMON_2-20001410.SAR
    MIGTIME_2-20001410
    MIGTIME_2-20001410.SAR
    ORABRCOPY_2-20001410
    ORABRCOPY_2-20001410.SAR
    SAPCAR_5-10002026
    SAPCAR_5-10002026.EXE
    SPLIT_2-20001410
    SPLIT_2-20001410.SAR
    I would have additional questions.
    1. In note 516246(System copy for SAP Systems based on SAP Web AS 6.20)
it is mentioned to download the latest version of R3LDCTL and apply it
to the system. I have following questions:
    under service.sap.com/patches
    i found only
    R3LDCTL
Support Package SAP KERNEL 4.5B 32-BIT Windows Server on IA32 32bit
    ORACLE
Is this file ok?(I will perform a homogeneous system copy of an 4.7x1.1
    system)
If the file is ok what is meant as apply?(put it in kernel directory?)
    2. Very similar question applies to file R3szchk
    under service.sap.com/patches I found only
    R3szchk
Support Package SAP KERNEL 4.6C 32-BIT Windows Server on IA32 32bit
    ORACLE
Is this file ok?(I will perform a homogeneous system copy of an 4.7x1.1
    system)
3.In same note(516246) the SAPinst CD is mentioned. How could I get it?
4.On the Source system I have kernel 640. I guess I have to copy the
content of this directory to the target system also. But in which phase?

    hi,
    first my question GGG
-> by which means do you plan to copy? brbackup/brrestore? r3copy? r3load?
    ad 1.
SAPNet -> Patches -> Add. Components -> SAP Kernel -> 32 BIT (uni oder non-uni depending on your environment) -> SAP Kernel 6.40 32-bit -> Windows Srv -> Oracle -> R3ldctl_6-20000185.SAR (13.07.2006) is the right file (your kernel is 6.40!!!)
    ad 2.
SAPNet -> Patches -> Add. Components -> SAP Kernel -> 32 BIT (uni oder non-uni depending on your environment) -> SAP Kernel 6.40 32-bit -> Windows Srv -> Oracle -> R3szchk_12-20000185.SAR is the right file (your kernel is 6.40!!!)
    ad 3.
    SAPNet -> SWDC (= Downloads) -> Download -> Inst. and Upgrades -> Entry by applic. group -> SAP Applic. Components -> SAP R/3 Enterprise -> Ent. 47X110 -> Installation -> Windows Server -> Oracle -> CD SAP R3E 4.7x1.10 SR1 SAPINST ORACLE (CD N° 51019679)
    ad 4.
not really....it depends on the strategy (see my question above)...you first install the database software (oracle), then the central instance using sapinst, afterwards you will install the database instance using sapinst as well; while installing the db instance you have to chose db copy (or homogeneous copy, system copy) as the "database installation method" if you choose to copy the database files or did a backup if you choose to use the export/import method (using standard r3load) you will use the SystemCopy method as well but you will point (later on) to the directory where you (source) db export lies.
    brrestore or copy method:
    =========================
sapinst will popup at the appropriate point that the db load has to be done and depending on your strategy you have either to restore or copy files...
by the way: did you already export/backup/copy your source system?
if any further questions arise feel free to post
    GreetZ, AH

  • System copy for PI 7.0 system

    Hi,
We are doing system copy for complete landscape and every time we used to perform PI system copy using SAP standard procedure of backup/restore, Java  exp/imp.
But can we use another approach of exporting IR/ID from source to Target. Because we do not have any transactional data in PI and what are different things that we need to take care if we export individual components.
    Like new ports, we20,we21, IDX1,IDX2
    Thanks,
    Venkat.

    to elaborate more,
we are doing system copy from Dev to Sandbox (we already have working sand box)
    I am planning below steps
    1) export all the software components from development system - Integration repository and Directory
    2) Adjust the transport path in SLD (source Dev and target Sandbox)
    3) Import the software components to Sandbox for Integration repository and Directory.
    4) change user-passwords to match sandbox authentication.
Please let me know if i am missing any steps and has any one did a copy by above procedure.
    Thanks,
    Venkat.

  • EWA report for non-abap systems

    Hi Gurus,
    Good day.
I would like to ask, what are the steps that I'm going to do when configuring an EWA report for non-abap systems i.e portal. Do Ineed to install SMD agents on my non-abap systems and connect to diagnostic agent of solman?
Or do I need to install wily introscope agents on my non-abap systems and connect to diagnostic agent?
    It is both? Which one?
It would be also great if you can provide me links/documents in relation to my queries.
Please do note that the current version of solman system is 7.1
Thanks in advance for the help
    Virgilio

    Hi Virgilio,
To generate an EWA report for Java stack system,
    you need to do following:
    1. install smd agent (diagnostics agent) on Java stack system
you can install this agent standalone, details see note 1234384.
The installation Guide is also attached in note 1234384.
    2. finish Initial Config and Basic Configuration in solman_setup for
solman system, the setting about Enterprise Manager is also included
in these configurations, please ensure EM is running properly.
    3. start managed system configuration for the EP system in solman_setup
after selecting the system type 'Java', please finish all steps as
suggested in which step. The Step 'Wily Introscope Configuration' is to
install Introscope Agent which is used for Java stack system. More infor
please read the installation Guide of Enterprise Manager and note
    797147.
    4. You should be able to see data in Wily Introscope and Workload
    analysis via
    Root Cause Analysis->End-to-End Analysis->select the system->Workload
    Analysis
    5. If the EP system is added in a solution, the EWA task for this system
should be shown up in solman's SDCCN.
    Also check note: 976054"
    Thanks

  • How to setup EWA for non-ABAP system with SM 4.0 ?

Hi, we are running SM 4.0 with the support-stack 06. I have set-up a solution for monitoring which includes a NW04 WebAS 6.40 Java only system. Has anyone set-up EWA reports for this type of non_ABAP system who can advise of the steps necessary for this ?
It seems like you need to define RFC destinations for where the monitored system data should be collected from , but there doesn't appear to be anywhere to do this for non-ABAP systems ?
I have looked at Note 738676 - Service Data Download for Non-ABAP Components but it hasn't helped and it seems to be SDCC specific, rather than SDCCN.
    Thanks.

    Hi Andrew,
we are just developing it, at the moment you have the following option, your java system has to send by ccms agends its data to an ABAP 640 system or higher, there you can see its alerts in ccms, then you have to make both system available in SMSY. Then important you have to assign the java system as a system component, then we collect also the java data and shows them in the EWA of the ABAP system. There for go to the main instance tab and set a java main instance to relevant and assign your java system.
This is the old, available standard solution. At the moment we develop it also for java stand alone.
I think it will be available with the new ST-SER in autumn

  • EWA for non-ABAP systems

    Hi,
We are planing to implement EWA for Java systems. Currently EWA is active for all ABAP systems. Do we need Wily Introscope in order to setup the EWA for non-ABAP systems? Or just we can use the SMD to generate EWA reports for Java systems?
    Any idea?
    Thanks,
    Kris

    Thanks Paul
We are on SM 7.0 EhP1. But I see following info in note 976054. It says data sources for EWA are different on 7.0 EhP1, does it mean we don't need wily from 7.0 EhP1 onwards?
Data sources in Solution Manager Diagnostics up to SP17 used for EWA for non-ABAP components analysis are:
                          - Introscope (SAP Note 797147),
                          - Garbage Collection (SAP Note 1079125) and
                          - Portal Activity Reporting (SAP Notes 936612 to know how to activate PAR and 914791, 1075276 to configure SQL
                            Command Console).
Starting with Solution Manager 7.0 EHP1 (SP18) the data sources are:
                          - Solution Manager BI for performance data
                          - Configuration and Change DB(CCDB) for configuration data
    Thanks,

  • Data Mapping Templates for NON-RTA Systems

    Hi all,
I'm designing n extractor for my NON-SAP System.
I've been reading the Appendix B: Data Mapping Templates for Non-RTA Systems from Configuration Guide - SAP GRC AC 5.3.
I have a couple of questions regarding the size of two fields in table ACTION PERMISSION OBJECTS TEMPLATE
Is correct the size that the documents says about fields:
ACTION (document says it's 20 but in other tables is 50)
PERMISSION (document says it's 10 but in other tables is 100
ACTVT (document says it's 10but in other tables is 50)
    Thank you in advanced.

    Hi Luis,
Yeah i will follow the recomendations but i'm updating some files to RAR and i've seen another kind of inconsistency such as in the table User File Template. Recomendation says that both FNAME field and LNAME field are 50 size each one but in my case i can update a FNAME 51 size and a LNAME 49, i mean between FNAME and LNAME it's 100 size.
    Cheers.

  • Logical system names after system copy for SAP ECC 6.0

    Hi!
We successfully installed SAP ECC 6.0 system as system copy.
All the logical system names of old system have been copied to new system.
    Question
What is the approach to change the logical system names for new SAP system?
    a) just via tcode SCC4
    b) via BDLS
    c) other tcodes, reports
    Thank you very much!

I think you can do it through BDLS
