If it's ok, how to make it work?
else will java3D work one day?

JDk for Itanium Server

What is Version of JDK is sultable for Itanium 64 Bit Server? From which site JDK can be get. And also give an idea to instal Tomcat in Itanium Server[64 Bit].

There should be no issues with using SAP JVM from the start.
Probably no notes because is straightforward:
- Extract the SAP JVM (e.g. c:\sapjvm_4)
- Set JAVA_HOME (c:\sapjvm_4)
And start installation as per guide.
We have done this recently with Solman 7 EHP1 and NW 7 EHP1 (J2EE stack).
We did have issue on central instance install where the J2EE instance would not start part way through installation (server0 continually crashed and restarted with memory issues) so we had to adjust the instance settings as per SAP Note#1603093, before retrying in SAPINST and continuing.
We had this problem with both Solman & NW 7 EHP1.

JRE1.4.2 for Itanium 64

Can anyone explain why JRE for 1.4.2 is not available althoug SDK is available for Itanium 64 ?
Do I have the right to distribute freely the SDK with my products ? like for JRE ?

XDK 10g and HP for Itanium

I would like to use the JAXB support found in the XDK 10g. I checked the download site and found a version for HPUX64. Is this compatible with HP for Itanium?

Java3D for visual age

Hi, I've been using visual age for java for some elementary java coding. Now, I need java3D, but I don't know where VisualAge installed java, so I can't tell Java3D where to install itself... Hope this makes sense to SOMEONE!! Thanks for any help you can give...

I don't have a jar file - that's why I'm stuck. I got Java3D from sun's Java3D page. For unix it comes as a ".sh" file and for windows it comed as a ".exe". When I execute it on windows, it tries to find java2 (a folder containing the jre), to "upgrade the SDK VM". I could have chosen a JRE VM, but again I don't know where that is. I tried looking through every folder for VAJ but found nothing.

Java3d for Solarisx86????

Have Sun released a Java3D implementation for Solarisx86?
As far as I know, the only Solaris implementation is for the Sparc.
I have got a nice screaming dual 500Mhz system (which is much faster than the Sparc 10s that I have worked with) which I want to test.
Does anyone know if Sun has a timeline for any such release?

Java3d for distribution

If we are looking to put together a CD featuring a Java3D game for the educational market. Ideally we want to be able to run the whole thing off the CD in case users do not have J3D installed already. Obviously, that is not a Java3D question, but is there a way to judge on the fly whether the user will require the OpenGL or D3D version?

I hate programs that try and do things automatically, cos they always get it wrong!
There are so many different configurations out there, the user usually knows best whether to install dx or gl.

Yes, it should have been obvious but I had a megabyte of source code I was trying to port, yada, yada.... Change the 0 to 1 and change:
glClear(GLCOLOR_BUFFERBIT);
to
glClear(GLCOLOR_BUFFERBIT| GLDEPTH_BUFFERBIT);

DMU for Itanium platform

Hi All,
We are trying to use DMU for migration to unicode charset.
Please clarify regarding following.
1.Supported database version: 10.2.0.4.4
Currently we are on 10.2.0.4.0, that means do we have to apply PSU , otherwise DMU is not supported.
2. 9825461 Patch which is said to be installed on DB before using DMU agianst it is not available for Linux Itanium platform.
3. Client OS Version
/etc/issue:
SUSE LINUX Enterprise Server 9 (ia64)
uname -a:
Linux 2.6.5-7.308-default #1 SMP Mon Dec 10 11:36:40 UTC 2007 ia64 ia64 GNU/Linux
Seems like SUSE 10/11 are supported.
Please advice the way forward to utilize DMU.

The patch is 9352164 - DATABASE PSU 10.2.0.4.4 (INCLUDES CPUAPR2010)
I assume you did already raised a SR about this DMU patch for Linux Itanium request as we had the same request.
Development will provide a DMU patch for 10.2.0.4.4 on Linux Itanium

CF on Win Server 2003 for Itanium

The company I'm with needs to get CF up and running. Right
now we are using Win 2003 Itanium edition on 2 web servers using
windows load balancing (no failover). I can't find any specific
documentation on whether CF will install (and run) on it or not.
Our options are to put in another 32 bit server cluster, but this
is not ideal. Has anyone had experience with this? Any input is
appreciated!

Oracle 10g R2 with ASM Installation Problem on RHEL AS 4.5 for Itanium

I am trying to install Oracle 10g R2 , but when I am executing 'runInstaller', I am getting the following prolem and OUI dosen't start. The message is:-

Oracle does not support running the 32-bit database on Itanium.64-bit Oracle database software only supports 64-bit for Itanium.
