Javadoc for jcapi of Calendar server 2004Q2

Is javadoc for jcapi of Calendar server 2004Q2 available? We would like to develop our calendar application but we don't want to write low-level WCAP over HTTP.

have a look in /opt/sun/private/share/javadoc/jcapi (on Linux).
the javadoc is provided by the sun-jcapi package, which is installed with either communications express or calendar server.
you can find out where the files have been installed using the command:
rpm -ql sun-jcapihope that helps.

    Hello,
We have installed Sun One Calendar Server 6.0 and will like to implement ENS subscribers using Java API.
We are unable to locate the sample implementation for ENS (JmsSample.java) at the location specified in the documentation. After installing the Sun One Messaging Server the folder structure obtained under the msg_server_base is different from the one expected according to the documentation.
Can anyone help us with the information on where we can locate the java samples ?

    <P>
If the Solstice/Legato Networker is installed under the default directory (as

directory and corresponds to Step 1
under the procedure for Backing Up Calendar Server Data in the
    iPlanet Calendar Server Documentation.
    <P>
After you have initiated the directory image, you can use the following commands
to back up or restore 1) a Calendar database, 2) a specific user's default

  • Calendar Server Email Invitations

I have Mavericks server set up solely for the calendar. My mail is hosted externally. I set up an [email protected] account on my external mail server specifically for the this calendar server to use. In the server app, I enabled "Enable invitations by email" in the Calendar service and entered the info for my external server.
When I create an event and invite my internal users, everything works great. If I invite an external user, they never receive an email. I've tried with external mac.com and gmail.com addresses.
The calendar error log on the server is showing the following. The firewall is off. Any ideas for further troubleshooting this issue?
2015-04-08 10:42:06-0500 [-] [caldav-4]  [ESMTPSender, client] [txdav.caldav.datastore.scheduling.imip.smtpsender#error] Failed to send IMIP message <[email protected]> from [email protected] to mailto:[email protected] (Reason: Unable to connect to server.)

I went back and disabled SSL for the external email settings for the Calendar service, and it started sending mail. Not sure why that was an issue.

  • How to best set up a mail and calendar server for a church

I am the IT guy for a smaller church of 200 regular attendees.  We want to start hosting our own mail and calendar server.  We bought a mac mini and installed mac os x server.  So far I have enabled the mail, calendar, and contacts sections of the server but we aren't live quite yet (domain is not pointed at the server yet).  My question is, I do not know much about profile manager or open directory, would those benefit me at all?  I do not wish to manage devices, I just want to make the most use out of the computer as a mail server primarily.  I have found some limitations on users and groups where I wish I could do more (such as creating mailing lists that include e-mails that are not hosted from within the server without creating a user that forwards to personal e-mail for every person).
Would open directory and/or profile manager add more functionality to the computer as a mail server?
    Thank you

    @camelot
What is it exactly open directory will give me that I cannot do with the regular software in this regard?  I am not sure what you mean by a signle shared mailbox and calendar.
    @cpragman
Google apps for business was something I was looking into at one point but decided not to use it.  Once we grow more I can see us moving over to it but with just maybe 5 people tops having a real e-mail address it seems a little overkill.  (I apologize, I omitted that from my original question, i only put in the number of attendees)
    @Lincdavis
Fortunately I don't care about whether they can create it themselves or not .  And your comment about creating a sharing-only user.  Do you mean for every external e-mail I want in a mailing list, I need to create a user for them (with services disabled) and then change mail options to forward to their personal e-mail?
Then go back to groups, create a group that can be e-mailed, and add those users to it?
    Thanks

  • Messaging Server and Calendar Server Mount points for SAN

    Hi! Jay,
We are planning to configure "JES 05Q4" Messaging and Calendar Servers on 2 v490 Servers running Solaris 9.0, Sun Cluster, Sun Volume Manager and UFS. The Servers will be connected to the SAN (EMC Symmetrix) for storage.
    I have the following questions:
    1. What are the SAN mount points to be setup for Messaging Server?
I was planning to have the following on SAN:
    - /opt/SUNWmsgsr
    - /var/opt/SUNWmsgsr
    - Sun Cluster (Global Devices)
Are there any other mount points that needs to be on SAN for Messaging to be configured on Sun Cluster?
    2. What are the SAN mount points to be setup for Calendar Server?
I was planning to have the following on SAN:
    - /opt/SUNWics5
    - /var/opt/SUNWics5
    - /etc/opt/SUNWics5
    3. What are the SAN mount points to be setup for Web Server (v 6.0) for Delegated Admin 1.2?
    - /opt/ES60 (Planned location for Web Server)
Delegated Admin will be installed under /opt/ES60/ida12
Directory server will be on its own cluster. Are there any other storage needs to be considered?
Also, Is there a good document that walks through step-by-step on how to install Messaging, Calendar and Web Server on 2 node Sun Cluster.
The installation document doesn't do a good job or atleast I am seeing a lot of gaps.
    Thanks

    Hi,
    There are basically two choices..
    a) Have local binaries in cluster nodes (e.g 2 nodes) ... which means there will be two sets of binaries, one on each node in your case.
Then when you configure the software ..you will have to point the data directory to a cluster filesystem which may not be neccasarily global. But this filsystem should be mountable on both nodes.
The advantage of this method is that ... during patching and similar system maintenance activities....the downtime is minimum...
The disadvantage is that you have to maintain two sets of binaries ..i.e patch twice.
The suggested filesystems can be e.g.
    /opt for local binaries
/SJE/SUNWmsgr for data (used during configure option)
This will mean installing the binaries twice...
    b) Having a single copy of binaries on clustered filesystem....
This was the norm in iMS5.2 era ...and Sun would recommend this...though I have seen type a) also for iMs 5.2
This means there should no configuration files in local fs. Everything related to iPlanet on clustered filesystem.
I have not come accross type b) post SUNONE i.e 6.x .....it seems 6.x has to keep some files on the local filesystem anyway..so b) is either not possible or needs some special configuration
so may be you should try a) ...
    The Sequence would be ..
After the cluster framework is ready:
    1) Insall the binaries on both side
2 ) Install agent on one side
    3) switch the filesytem resource on any node
    4) Configure the software with the clustered FS
    5) Switch the filesystem resource on the other node and useconfig of first node.
    Cheers--

  • Calendar Server 6.0 2004Q2 and Sun One Synchronization 1.1

    Hello,
we have a problem with Calendar Server 6.0 2004Q2 and Sun One Synchronization running with a Palm. The connection from the sync tool to calendar server works, but we cannot select one calendar of the user. With Calendar Server 6 2003Q4 ist worked well. Is there something changed in wcap in the new version? Does anybody know how to solve that problem?
    Yours,
    Angela

    Hello,
I confirm that I have the same problem with that version (CS 6.0 2004Q2). I cannot select any calendar and It looks like only the default calendar is synchronized. It used to work with the previous version, though.
We have an application that uses WCAP commands. It works perfectly with both versions.

    Hi,
This is from the documentation -
    Database: Third Party JDBC Drivers
The Third Party JDBC Drivers pane specifies drivers to be used for connections to third-party (non-Oracle) databases, such as IBM DB2, MySQL, Microsoft SQL Server, or Sybase Adaptive Server. (You do not need to add a driver for connections to Microsoft Access databases.) To add a driver, click Add Entry and select the path for the driver:
For Microsoft SQL Server or Sybase Adaptive Server: jtds-1.2.jar, which is included in the jtds-1.2-dist.zip download
To find a specific third-party JDBC driver, see the appropriate website (for example, http://www.mysql.com for the MySQL Connector/J JDBC driver for MySQL, http://jtds.sourceforge.net/ for the jTDS driver for Microsoft SQL Server and Sybase Adaptive Server, or search at http://www.teradata.com/ for the JDBC driver for Teradata). For MySQL, use the MySQL 5.0 driver, not 5.1 or later, with SQL Developer release 1.5.
You must specify a third-party JDBC driver or install a driver using the Check for Updates feature before you can create a database connection to a third-party database of that associated type. (See the tabs for creating connections to third-party databases in the Create/Edit/Select Database Connection dialog box.)
    Alternative:
As an alternative to using this preference, you can click Help, then Check for Updates to install the JTDS JDBC Driver for Microsoft SQL Server and the MySQL JDBE Driver as extensions.

    Mike

Thanks in advance for any advice.

    Hi Russ,
We have the same problem as Matt.
We have properly set up OCS Email it works well both inside and outside our network.
The only thing that appears not to be working is the email notification capabilities of OCS Calendar.
We have changed sendmail.cf as stated in the documentantion.
    we are using -
    RedHat Advanced Server 2.1,
    sendmail 8.11.6
    bind 9.1.3
I would be very gratefull of any information on this, as we're out of ideas...

  • Hpw do you change Calendar server's from email address for a user?

I have a user account with multiple email aliases.  The Calendar server has picked up one of those as the from address when scheduling appointments.  Does anyone know how to change this address to force it to use the primary address?
I looked into the Postgres database bute did not find the entry so any pointers would be appreciated.

    Perfect, thank you!

  • Calendar Server user can not receive external invites

    Hi,
We have a MacPro running ML Server 10.8.5 with 10 user accounts using the calendar and file server services.
Calendar server is where the issue is. We have 10 + users that are set up to send and receive external invites in calendar server without a problem. Recently, one of the user accounts stopped receiving external invites. The problem began not long after I set up a second account for the same user for their shared calendars (they requested this so all shared cals were not on their iOS devices). Although I used a separate email, it was an alias of the first so may have caused a conflict / problem (?). I got rid of the second account with no change to the first.
The account still receives invites from the other internal user accounts and the other services such as file sharing are unaffected. There are no other problems with the functionality of that user, in calendar or otherwise.
I have tried changing the email associated with that user account and setting up a new test user account (in Server). The email invite will still not come through.
I have changed it back to the way it was originally.
    Summary
One of 10 user accounts does not receive external invites
    Was working until recently
The account can send invites to external addresses
Same email address will not work even when associated with a different account
I have included a large section of the calendar error log from the part that references the email address (in red) attached to the user account in question. Apologies, I am not familiar with deciphering this information. That is why I've come here.
Any help would be very much appreciated. Thanks.

Thanks so much for your comment ~morgen.
Sorry, I should have mentioned, that it what my first thought so I tested by ensuring the email address associated with the user account (not hosted on the server but by Google Apps) is recieving all other mail.
    I have also tried:
    - Setting all accounts (calendar, email and contact card with associated email address) in another local user on a defferent Mac. So it's not a local user or Mail app issue.
    - Sending invites from different Calendar apps and email accounts - iCloud, Gmail (both using Apple Calendar and the web interface).
That's why I came back around to thinking it must be calendar server related. However is there is absolutly no conntact with the server with incoming email invites I must be looking in the wrong place (and the wrong forum - sorry!).
Does anyone have any ideas where I should be focusing my efforts?
    Many thanks in advance.
