JavaDoc for Wireless Messaging

Does anybody know where I can get the WMA (JSR-205) API JavaDoc? I looked in all the obvious places but could not find it. The WTK installed documentation just links to http://jcp.org/aboutJava/communityprocess/final/jsr205/ But this page only has a download for the specification (a PDF file). I tried going from java.sun.com --> J2ME --> APIs etc, but still ended up eventually at the JCP page above. Needless to say, this was an incredibly annoying experience.
Question: It's great having the WTK support wireless messaging, but how does someone write any code without the API JavaDoc?
Thanks,
yushen

I have exactly the same problem. I've now been trying
for 20 minutes to find the insert expletive here
javadocs for the JSR-205 API and I can't and it's
starting to wind me up a little bit. Why is the first
hit I get on google for the javadocs for some other
sucker looking for the same thing. Honestly people,
what would it take to include it in the WTK, like
20kb? And put a link that says JAVADOCS DOWNLOAD HERE
IDIOTS. thanks.Here you go - http://raud.ut.ee/~tec/static/api/WirelessMessagingAPI_JSR120/overview-tree.html
I know it's not JSR-205 but it's good enough.

  • Javadoc for Wireless Modules

    We are trying to send attachments and files from custom made wireless applications. Most of the time we would use the basic platform functionalities for this. On of the developers is trying to find out how the module applications work. Therefor we are looking for the Java documentation. I've already found the Javadoc for the standard panama classes of the Wireless platform ( http://otn.oracle.com/docs/products/ias/doc_library/90200doc_otn/wireless.902/q20401/index.html )but we can't find the same API reference for the modules.
    Can anybody tell me where I can find this at OTN? I couldn't find any documentation about the modules in the production environment as well.
    Thanks in advance.
    Thomas

    Actually we've already found a solution by using the Java Mail API from Sun (advised by Oracle NL (Shintaro)). Sending a file using a mobile device would always be possible by using the Oracle files interface. In this case the files were already on a server on a different file system. Next to that, the file sending is an embedded functionality. The user only selects an email address while on the background the file is being sent.
    It works very ok!
    Anyone who's interested to know more about sending mails with files please refer to:

  • HP LaserJet Pro P1102w printer "Ready" for wireless printing, but gives "error -- printing" message

    This P1102w printer was configured for wireless printing from two computers (WinXP and Win7), both with a network sharing designation, and all functions worked perfectly:
    Printing from the WinXP computer directly, and from a networked Win2K computer as a guest.
    Printing from the Win7 computer directly, and from a networked Win2K computer as a guest.
    Windows Printer Test Pages were printed from both installed computers, showing correct computer names, the printer name, Port names (IP addresses), Data format (IMF), Driver information, etc.
    Several days later (after new boots), the WinXP computer showed printer status as being "Ready", along with the correct printer "Type" (HP LaserJet Professional P1102w), "Where" (IP address), and "Comment" (network printing).  When a print job was submitted from Microsoft Word, the control-panel printer window first showed the message "printing", and then the message "error -- printing".  Nothing was printed.  The same results occurred when a print job was sent to the WinXP computer from the networked Win2K computer.  HP’s troubleshooting routine did not identify the error, its cause, or what can be done about it.
    Successful printing continued, as before, from the Win7 computer directly, and from the networked Win2K computer to the Win7 computer as a guest.
    The printer’s blue “i” network indicator lamp is lit, and all three computers continue to communicate through the hub to each other and to the Internet.
    HP’s printer installation program was executed on the WinXP computer, using the “fix” option, but nothing changed.  The installation program was executed again on the WinXP computer, using the “new install” option (without removing the existing P1102w installation); the “browse” function saw the network, but no printers were found, and the installation could not be completed.
    This is very perplexing.  Any suggestions?
    PS:  The same problem occurred once before, and it was fixed by resetting factory defaults on the printer, hard wiring the printer to the WinXP computer through a USB cable, re-installing the printer’s wireless settings from HP’s installation disk, and repeating all of the networking and sharing setups on all three computers.  This is a lot of work that is not worth repeating, because the successful results have not been permanent.

    To:  Neonskeleton,
    Thanks for your response -- especially because you are an HP employee!
    My Win2k machine does not use HP software, nor communicate to the HP printer.  (HP did not write a Win2k driver for the P1102w -- and evidently no one else has done this, either.)  My WinXP and Win7 machines use their HP drivers to send print jobs to the P1102w wirelessly, and both machines have the P1102w set up as a shared printer.  Then, when I connect to those machines as a "guest" and submit a print job to those machines, those machines receive the print job and then communicate with the printer using the proper installed printer drivers.
    Everything worked great with this configuration, until suddenly the printer was no longer responsive to ANY jobs coming from the WinXP machine, even though there was a "printer ready" indication on the WinXP machine, and even though the printer responded perfectly to print jobs coming from the Win7 machine.
    When I tried to "fix" the WinXP setup by running HP's setup program on CD, nothing changed.  Then, when I tried to reinstall the WinXP setup for wireless printing, the program insisted that I reset THE PRINTER'S factory defaults and proceed using a USB cable -- even though I wanted to simply ADD the computer for wireless communication to an existing networked printer!  I would conclude that something screwed up the printer's inner settings (maybe an unsolicited and invisible HP update sent to my printer from the Internet?).
    As I mentioned in my original post, I went through this process once before, reinstalled everything on all machines, and all was well.  Until THE SAME non-recognition problem surfaced again!
    I do not want to spend any more time on this.  I went to Staples and bought a second P1102w printer (it is a nice little machine that uses a xerographic cartridge, rather than costly inkjet cartridges that frequently plug up).  I'll use a USB cable for the connection, rather than the installed wireless feature, and set up the P1102w as a shared printer.  I expect that all of my other computers will be able to link as a "guest" through the wireless hub and be able to print.
    Thanks again.

    Hi PaulEich,
    Welcome to the HP forums!!
    I see from your post that you have a Photosmart B109n that you need to connect wirelessly to your Mac that is running 10.9. I will absolutely do my best to assist you with this!
    I believe the reason the software is failing is because it's not intended to be used with the 10.9 operating system. At this time HP does not have full feature software released, you would have to install it via the Apple Updates. Which leads to the next issue, how to connect the printer to your wireless network. To do this, we will have to connect the Mac to the printer to get things setup properly
    Please follow this post I did, that has worked for others, to get the printer connected to your wireless network. To restore the network defaults on your printer, please press the Setup option, then Network, then Restore network defaults, followed by Yes. Then to print off the Network Configuration page on your printer please follow the steps below:
    On the control panel, touch the button ( ) next to Scan . The Wireless/Scan menu displays.
    Touch the button next to Wireless Menu .
    Touch the button next to Wireless Settings .
    Touch the button next to Print Network Configuration Page .
    Touch OK . The Network Configuration Page prints.
    Let me know how this goes for you!!
    Please click “Accept as Solution ” if you feel my post resolved your issue, as it will help others find the solution faster

  • Setting up security and such for wireless router wrt54g without admin rights (work computer)

    We are moving, I am in a new location with a new company and my only computer is this one from work. Trying to get my home network setup, I'm locked out of admin rights on this thing and am trying to set up the above router. I thought I had a modem problem at first, but finally I am online wired for now to the cable modem. I would like to get this router up and running, but I can't use the easy setup disk, and I just tried using the easy setup download and it is locked out as well. How can I get my router setup with security, with no admin rights on the pc?
    This will be my first wireless router, so I am very green on the specifics and terminology. Any help is most appreciated.
    Many thanks,

    Thank you toomanydonuts!
    I will do this when I get back to the townhouse this evening.
    Just so that I am prepared for tonight - I want to confirm and ask a few questions on the "options" and note a couple things I noticed that may help with answers...
    Internet connection type - should be easy, I assume there is a "cable modem" option.
    SSID - I do not know what this means or what to choose
    wireless encryption method (WEP, WPA, WPA2) - Which is best, or is there one I must pick due to computer used and such, I also want to get my Nintendo Wii accessing correctly, I saw these options on that setup, though it didn't work per my first message on the board. I assume whatever encryption method used needs to be chosen for the Wii?
    wireless encryption password - I think I can handle this one
    A couple of notes -
    this laptop has this always on radar looking for wireless connections - how can I name my router so I know it's mine, other than the fact that it is the strongest signal. Maybe that's a network setting?
    Thanks again, glad I came here.
    Edit: I suppose I should add, just to ensure - in order to do this process through the url provided above, I need to be ethernet wired through the router to the modem? in order to access last night, I was straight into the modem, didn't seem to work wired through the router.

  • Sending SMS to server - Wireless Messaging API (WMA)

    Hello :-)!
    In general I want to create application for CLDC (with the use of MIDlet). (And maybe later to try the same with CDC). I want my application to create some data based on communication with the user of mobile phone and then to send little text file to the application on server computer.
    I found that there exists such a thing as WMA - Wireless Messaging API. I downloaded examplary .jar & .jad files (with sources and documentation):
    [http://www.forum.nokia.com/info/sw.nokia.com/id/9edb3299-e0f4-449d-a2fd-fa15ddbeed8b/MIDP_2_0_Wireless_Messaging_API_Example_v1_0.zip.html|http://www.forum.nokia.com/info/sw.nokia.com/id/9edb3299-e0f4-449d-a2fd-fa15ddbeed8b/MIDP_2_0_Wireless_Messaging_API_Example_v1_0.zip.html]
    and copied those files to Sony Ericsson K750i. I installed the application, run it, it asked me whether I want to allow this application to receive SMS, I answered yes and... nothing else happened and the application exited. I run this application once more, it doesn't do anything at all and exits.
    I tried to analyse the code but it didn't help me to notice what is wrong with the program.
    In init() there is initialization of what and where will be sent (port number and message). (Function init is called in startApp so in my application I will need to call it in the other place in the code and I will take the content of the message from the other place that jar or jad files, as in this examplary application).StartApp() calls init(), it listens to incoming messages, creates commend, label etc. (Probably I need to erase from this example code responsible for listening to incoming messages so that this examplary application will work on my Sony Ericsson?).
    CommandAction(c,d) sends text or binary message (depending on choice in the field cg.setSelectedIndex) or exits the application for "exit".
    ItemStateChanged() changes from binary to text mode and vice versa.
    SendBinaryMessage(connection,destAddress,Body) and sendTextMessage(...) send the message.
    I don't know what are those "private static final String".>
    Greetings:)!

  • How to setup Time Capsule for wireless backup only

    I have a new Time Capsule that I want to set up for wireless backups of both my Macbook Air (with Time Machine) and a Windows Vista laptop. I have an existing home wireless network with my Att/Uverse tv and internet service. I do not want to disturb that network/internet setup.
    How do I set up the time capsule to use it for wireless backup only? When I start the Airport utility setup, the first thing it asks is do I want to 1) set up new network, 2) replace existing router, or 3) join existing network.

    Thanks. That got me the green light and a message that everything was set up properly. It started it's first Time Machine backup and everything looked good for a while. But now I have a new problem.
    The backup failed twice. The first time it had a message that it could no longer find the time capsule, so I had to reset it and go thru the setup procedures again. Started backup again overnight, and this morning it tells me that it failed again. But this time I still have my green light, and the message is "a network problem may have interfered with the backup.
    I don't know what else to do with the setup to get it to work. Right now it has started backing up again on its own, so I'll leave it going one more time. (I should tell you that all of this is occurring on my Mac. I have not even started setting it up on the Vista machine. I want to make sure it works on the Mac first). Any advice from anyone who had the same problems with setup would be appreciated.

  • Wireless Messaging From Servlet

    Can I send wireless messages from a servle using Wireless Messaging API ???
    I have a little test (taken from http://jan.netcomp.monash.edu.au/internetdevices/wireless/wma.html).
    There's a client that send messages, and a server that listens for incoming messages.
    It work fine when I run the both under J2ME emulator, the client sends the messages ok and the server receive ok too.
    Now I want to send the messages from a servlet. So I left the server unchanged and put the client code in the servlet but it doesn't works
    The client's something like this
    try
    String address = "sms://+5550000:5432";
    String msg = "Hello";
    MessageConnection smsconn = (MessageConnection) Connector.open(address);
    TextMessage txtmessage = (TextMessage)smsconn.newMessage(MessageConnection.TEXT_MESSAGE);
    txtmessage.setPayloadText(msg);
    smsconn.send(txtmessage);
    catch (Exception e)
    System.out.println(e.toString());
    System.out.println (e.getMessage());
    e.printStackTrace();
    But running in the servlet, when opening the MessageConnection it throws an IOException "java.io.IOException: NYI".
    Any Ideas??
    Thanx

    From a servlet I got it working (sends the messages ok from the servlet to the device listening).
    I did it using the wma-tck.jar bundeled with Wireless Messaging API.
    The servlet code to send the message's something like this.
    String address = "sms://+5550000:5432"; //phone_number:port on wich the device is listening
    String message = "MESSAGE";
    MessageConnection conn = null;
    Message mess = null;
    conn = (new SMSConnector()).open(address);
    mess = conn.newMessage("text");
    ((TextMessage)mess).setPayloadText(message);
    mess.setAddress(address);
    conn.send(mess);

  • Wireless Messaging API

    Hi you all,
    I am trying to send messages over GSM using the WMA API, but I am rather new to J2ME and I am struggling to understand a few things.
    I have been searching and I found this code:
    import javax.microedition.midlet.*;
    import javax.microedition.lcdui.*;
    import javax.microedition.io.*;
    import javax.wireless.messaging.*;
    public class SMSClient extends MIDlet {
        protected Display display;
        protected Displayable displayable;
        public SMSClient() {
         display = Display.getDisplay(this);
         displayable = new Form("SMS Client");
        public void startApp() {
         display.setCurrent(displayable);
         try {
             String address =  "sms://+5550000:5432";
             String msg = "Hello";
             MessageConnection smsconn =
              (MessageConnection) Connector.open(address);
             TextMessage txtmessage =
              (TextMessage)smsconn.newMessage(
                          MessageConnection.TEXT_MESSAGE);
             txtmessage.setPayloadText(msg);
             smsconn.send(txtmessage);
         } catch (Exception e) {
             System.out.println(e.toString());
        public void pauseApp() {
        public void destroyApp(boolean unconditional) {
         display = null;
         displayable = null;
    }Which allows me to send sms messages. What I am not undertsnding thought is this bit:
             String address =  "sms://+5550000:5432";Don't I need to use any gateway to send the message???
    Another issue I am having is about the above package:
    import javax.microedition.midlet.*;which doesn't come included in the J2ME version I am using... But as far as I know that package is only used for GUI applications, I am wrong??
    Thanks in advance.

  • Wireless Messaging API (WMA);

    Hello, I am new to J2ME and I have two question regarding the Wireless Messaging API
    1) In J2SE, I can find the J2SE api by going to google and searching for "java api"
    However, I am having a difficult time finding the WMA api.
    2)
    When using the WMA api to send text message.
    is there anyway to disable the warning message "Allow application WMA Demo to send text message to 778-xxx-xxxx?"
    This message is very annoying.

  • How & where to get Javadoc for CRM ISA 5.0?

    Hi, SDN Fellows.
    I read a forum blog, knowing that to get the javadocs of CRM ISA applications, I should perform this step: when building the internet-sales-ear-file, the sources are included as zip-file within the ear-file. after unzipping the sources you can generate javadocs on your own.
    In fact, what I really want is the Javadocs for the standard delivered CRM package, i.e. the default BOM, BaseAction classes (com.sap.isa.core.InitAction, com.sap.isa.core.BaseAction, com.sapmarkets.isa.isacore.action.EComBaseAction, com.sap.isa.isacore.action.IsaCoreBaseAction, com.sap.isa.core.UserSessionData), jsp, UILayout tags, message classes, and config-file javadocs.
    Can anyone point me where I can get this?
    Thanks,
    Kent

    Hi Kent,
    If you have the Java Component of ISA, then you can extract the javadoc which is supplied in it.
    Please check whether you have the SAPSHRJAV<version>.sca, if not download it from SAP Market Place.
    You need to open this software component using Winzip and inside it you will another zip file by name, "crmshrjavadoc.zip"
    When you open it you'll see a javadoc.ppa file  rename it to javadoc.zip and extract it within a folder.
    In the extracted folder you'll find all the required Javadocs along with API's and Interfaces.
    Hope you'll find the required documents inside it.

    Thank you very much!
    I cant believe this little comment has been so helpful!
    But yes it is:
    I explain, despite my efforts to find, googled it, forums, faqs, etc...
    no where it mentionned the manifest.fm file is... INSIDE the .jar!
    Your comment "a zip" made me attempt to open it with winrar, and I found a manifest.fm file inside!
    So far I was editing the one at the "source" of my project and rebuilding it with netbeans.
    I am going to try that now.
    Actually.... :( no its mentionning my main class!
    Manifest-Version: 1.0
    Ant-Version: Apache Ant 1.7.0
    Created-By: 10.0-b19 (Sun Microsystems Inc.)
    Main-class: courseworkjava3d.Simple3D
    Class-Path:
    X-COMMENT: Main-Class will be added automatically by buildWell I have no problems uploading you the .jar, it is for a coursework it is not a private project or whatever:
    http://www.uploading.com/files/CM2LKWYU/BetaCourseworkJava3d_Final.jar.html
    Oh and I felt on your comment "dont ask us" as if I was suppose to know... i'm a beginner, I did not know that! And I tried to give you so many infos so you dont lose your time if you want to help, especially as after my own research I found many, many results for this "main class" and I tried a few solutions!
