Javafx, binary images and javadb

Hi guys,
hope everything is going well on everyone's end.
My question is this: can I connect to a table in a javadb database to retrieve and display binary images in my application?
I am attempting to create a card game and I've already stored a few binary images in my javadb, but I'm having trouble gaining access to those files while using javafx (business app). I can call the images normally through an image component, however, I would love to incorporate the visual transitions to my game and so I inquire...
Thanks for any and all help,
Silkmane

Sure,
I just thought it be a whole lot easier to write queries against my database if the said images were stored and called in that manner. I could write indexes against a respective table and speed up the whole displaying process.

  • PDF binary image display on smartforms?

    Hi guys,
    I'm very new to this but i hope i can explain it correctly.
    Lets say right now l have some pdf stored in SAP(Service Contract for example) and we're reading them as binary image files right?
    Is it possible to retrieve such binary image and display them in an existing smartform?
    I hope i'm explaining the right way...this has something to do with DMS ??

    Anyone? Please its kinda urgent.
    Basically, If I understand correctly, what I have now is are converted binary data from the PDF document?
    Is there a way to take these data and displaying it meaningfully(may be through some other processes like conversion again) in a smartform? Is this possible?

  • Can jpdk portlets deliver images and other binary files?

    From my understanding, portlets can only return text content (html).
    Images and pdf files would be impossible to deliver via portlets.
    So if you portlet has a link to a pdf or a image, this URL would be a direct reference to that application or file resource, and not be tunnelled through portal?

    # Based upon the NCSA server configuration files originally by Rob McCool.
    # This is the main Apache server configuration file.  It contains the
    # configuration directives that give the server its instructions.
    # See <URL:http://httpd.apache.org/docs/2.0/> for detailed information about
    # the directives.
    # Do NOT simply read the instructions in here without understanding
    # what they do.  They're here only as hints or reminders.  If you are unsure
    # consult the online docs. You have been warned.
    # The configuration directives are grouped into three basic sections:
    #  1. Directives that control the operation of the Apache server process as a
    #     whole (the 'global environment').
    #  2. Directives that define the parameters of the 'main' or 'default' server,
    #     which responds to requests that aren't handled by a virtual host.
    #     These directives also provide default values for the settings
    #     of all virtual hosts.
    #  3. Settings for virtual hosts, which allow Web requests to be sent to
    #     different IP addresses or hostnames and have them handled by the
    #     same Apache server process.
    # Configuration and logfile names: If the filenames you specify for many
    # of the server's control files begin with "/" (or "drive:/" for Win32), the
    # server will use that explicit path.  If the filenames do *not* begin
    # with "/", the value of ServerRoot is prepended -- so "logs/foo.log"
    # with ServerRoot set to "C:/Program Files/Apache Group/Apache2" will be interpreted by the
    # server as "C:/Program Files/Apache Group/Apache2/logs/foo.log".
    # NOTE: Where filenames are specified, you must use forward slashes
    # instead of backslashes (e.g., "c:/apache" instead of "c:\apache").
    # If a drive letter is omitted, the drive on which Apache.exe is located
    # will be used by default.  It is recommended that you always supply
    # an explicit drive letter in absolute paths, however, to avoid
    # confusion.

    I am not expert in these, but please check out the following things and see whether it would solve your issue. (All these changes can be easily rolled back in case I'm wrong :). So make note of what you do)
    As per your httpd.conf, you have chosen an automatic configuration of Apache by OWCI installer itself. What it does is create an imageserver.conf file in a separate directory and these settings will be included in your httpd.conf as you can see in the first line: Include "C:/bea/alui/plumtreeconf/".
    If you check the imageserver.conf in that location, you would find a line like: Alias /imageserver/ "C:/bea/alui/ptimages/imageserver/". This aliases the original path "C:/bea/alui/ptimages/imageserver/" to /imageserver"
    To confirm whether this is done right, check the following:
    1. Acces 'http://<server ip / server name / localhost >/' from your browser
    This should display the Apache home page (as per your httpd.conf, it uses the default port 80; so no port number required)
    2. Access 'http://<server ip>/imageserver/' from your browser
    This should display the directory structure (if its not disabled) inside your 'C:/bea/alui/ptimages/imageserver/' folder. Also confirm that all the subfolders are accessible.
    3. If all the above is right, it means that your imageserver settings are right. Please check your portalconfig.xml for the correct settings: For example, <setting name="HTTPPort"> should be 7001 in your case. If its something else, change it and restart Weblogic for the settings to take effect.
    Hope this helps.

  • How do you open multiple binary files and plot them all on the same graph?

    I have three different binary files and I want to plot all 3 of them onto a graph.
    I am familiar with opening and reading a single binary file. (Thanks to the help examples!)
    But to do multiple numbers at the same time?  I was thinking of putting 3 different 'reading from binary file' blocks with the rest of the 'prompts', 'data type', etc.. and then connecting them on the same wire.
    However, I got into a mess already when I tried to read one .bin file to dynamic data type --> spectral measurements --> graph waveform.  The error was Not enough memory to complete this operation...  Why is that?  That didnt happen in the help example "Read Binary File.vi"...  Has it got something to do with the dynamic data type?
    Thank you for your time.
    Jud~

    Have a look at the image below and attached VI.  Simply enter the different paths into the PathArray control.

  • How to display a binary image in a webpage?

    Hi,
    I want to display a binary image in a webage. The image has been stored in a DB as binary format. I am using servlet. How could I retrieve it and display it on a webpage? Could you give me some suggestions?
    I have read some metrial about JAI, the method 'createImageEncoder( )', which seems very helpful! I am on the right way, right? Thanks for your any comments!
    Best Regards,
    Hai

    Here is my idea to display the pic on the webpage:
    The pic is stored in DB as binary, after retrieving it, the binary data will be converted to JPEG pic. Then, the pic will be saved to the local machine automaticly. After that, I get the pic's SRC, and use html display it.
    My code is as follow (not completed), some errors in it.     public static String getPayoffSRC(Services serv, long fileId)
                                                                    throws FileNotFoundException,
                                                                  DBException,
                                                                  DbFileNotFoundException,
                                                              IOException {
            BufferedImage buffy = new BufferedImage(300, 400,
                                                        java.awt.image.BufferedImage.TYPE_INT_RGB);
            FileOutputStream out = new FileOutputStream(serv.getFileManager().getFileDb(fileId).getFileName());
            JPEGImageEncoder jencoder = JPEGCodec.createJPEGEncoder(out);
            JPEGEncodeParam enParam = jencoder.getDefaultJPEGEncodeParam(buffy);
            enParam.setQuality(1.0F, true);
            jencoder.setJPEGEncodeParam(enParam);
            jencoder.encode(buffy);
            out.close();
            return Pic's SRC,
        }

  • Images and excel in zip file

    related to this topic i posted in some thred ,but for proper understanding , i write here again.
    i need to read images and excel file from zip and extract to some folder, in my struts application.
    i am able to read and write text files with inputStream and FileWriter,but unable to write excel and images properly.
    images are written with improper clarity and excel file could not open without some errors.
    Any one can suggest this issue to be solved??
    Is it better to handle with Any binary strams??
    If yes share your experiences!!

    Is it better to handle with Any binary strams??If by "better" you mean "Not mucked up" then yes, definitely copy those files with InputStream and OutputStream objects. Do not use Reader and Writer objects.

  • Can we load generic binary image in Oracle spatial database

    hi i am new to this topic. so kindly help me out.
    can we store generic binary image in Oracle 10g spatial database?
    generic i mean there is no header information.

    hi everybody,
    thanks in advance. i am in little bit confusion. actually i am new to oracle 10g spatial db concept and image processing. i have to decide whether to store DEM & ORTHO image in Oracle 10g spatial database. or using BLOB to store these images. i have to design physical as well as logical database to store both above mentioned images.
    i don't have much knowledge about DEM & ORTHO image.
    i don't know what to do. even though i have started some of the Oracle 10g spatial concepts. i would like to know can i also use oracle intermedia for storing these images (ORTHO & DEM images).
    looking for help
    thanks

  • Binary image

    I want to convert a image to a binary image(only black& white)
    I use this code to convert a color image to a grayscale image:
    public static BufferedImage applyGrayscaleFilter(BufferedImage aImage)
    BufferedImage tmpBufImage = aImage;
    try
    for (int i = 0; i < aImage.getWidth(); i++) {
    for (int j = 0; j < aImage.getHeight(); j++) {
    Color c = new Color(aImage.getRGB(i, j));
    int r = c.getRed();
    int g = c.getGreen();
    int b = c.getBlue();
    //formula for grayscale
    int gray = (int) (0.2989 * r + 0.5870 * g + 0.1140 * b);
    c = new Color(gray, gray, gray);
    tmpBufImage.setRGB(i, j, c.getRGB());
    catch(Exception ex)
    return null;
    return tmpBufImage;
    I need help for convertin this image(grayscale) to binary image (b&w - only 1 and 0).

    No need to do it yourself, BufferedImage will do it for you:
    Image oldImage= ...;
    BufferedImage newImage=new BufferedImage(oldImage.getWidth(null),
        oldImage.getHeight(null), BufferedImage.TYPE_BYTE_BINARY);
    newImage.getGraphics().drawImage(image, 0, 0, null);

  • PhongMaterial Image and 3D issue

    I've been working with Box and trying to get an image set up.
    According to the API http://docs.oracle.com/javafx/2/api/javafx/scene/image/Image.html there are a few ways to do it.
    I tried to set it as a file, in the source, or another project, and no luck. Then I tried using the direct link to the JavaFX icon found in the tutorial; however that was for basic images, not for Phong Materials.
    Now there is setDiffuseMap, setSpecularMap, and setBumpMap. When doing each individually it yields a gray box, but when doing all 3 I get a crappy gray version of the JavaFX Logo.
    Now looking up the definitions of each I got that Diffuse is the main color, specular is for shiny objects, and bumps are for bumps :P. The thing is are they supposed to be 3 different images layered together to form 1 image, or what's the deal? Why am I having issues with crappy color, and is there an easier way to do this? What if I want to set each side's image? It seem slike it knew the FX Logo was 2D, so it just mapped it to all 6 sides.
    I should also mention I am using NEtbeansLambda8, with JDK/JRE 8 build 78.

    Okay so I got it to work only when the link was correct THE FIRST TIME. For some reason it was f-xdocuments instead of fx-documents, so when I changed it back, it worked; however only the first time. If I ran the code again it would turn into a normal non-image box. If I switch the image path to and from fx- to f-x and back to fx- it would work again, only once...

  • 2009.04-1 archboot "Schlumpi" hybrid image and torrent file released

    Hi Arch community,
    Arch Linux (archboot creation tool) 2009.04-1, "Schlumpi" has been released.
    To avoid confusion, this is not an official arch linux iso release!
    Check Readme.txt file for more information on archboot.
    ftp://ftp.archlinux.org/iso/archboot/Readme.txt
    Hybrid image file and torrent is provided, which include
    i686 and x86_64 core repository. Please check md5sum before using it.
    Hybrid image file is a standard CD-burnable image and also a raw disk image.
        - Can be burned to CD(RW) media using most CD-burning utilities.
        - Can be raw-written to a drive using 'dd' or similar utilities.
          This method is intended for use with USB thumb drives.
    Please get it from your favorite arch linux mirror:
    ftp://ftp.archlinux.org/iso/archboot/2009.04/
    <yourmirror>/iso/archboot/2009.04/
    Changelog:
    GENERAL:
    - kernel 2.6.29.1 usage
    - pacman 3.2.2 usage
    - RAM  recommendations:
         * arch or arch64 boot image
           256 MB RAM i686/x86_64 (all packages selected, with swap partition)
         * lowmem or lowmem64 boot image
           96 MB RAM i686/x86_64 (all packages selected, with swap partition)
    FIXES:
    - fixed network settings in rc.conf on ftp install and dhcp
    - fixed use mirror from ftp install
    - fixed broken memtest binary
    - fixed broken dmraid
    New Setup Features:
    - Added consistent menu dialog switching
    - Added software raid, lvm2 and luks encrytpion creation support to setup
    - Added new autoconfiguration of mkinitcpio.conf
    - Added ntfs creation support in CD installation
      (uses ntfs-3g, which is not supported in ftp installation mode!)
    - Added root password dialog instead of plain shell dialog
    - Added ext4 support
    Environment changes:
    - added virtio kernel modules for virtualization
    - added crda for correct wireless support
    - added ntfs-3g support
    KNOWN ISSUES:
    - iwlwifi-3945-ucode and ipw2100-fw is not complete.
      Reason: One firmware file is missing.
      Workaround:
      - mount image and install firmware from image file.
        eg. cdrom:
        mount /dev/cdrom /src
        pacman -U /src/core-$(uname -m)/pkg/iwlwifi-3945-ucode-15.28.2.8-1-$(uname-m).pkg.tar.gz
        pacman -U /src/core-$(uname -m)/pkg/ipw2100-fw-3.1-2-$(uname-m).pkg.tar.gz
    - grub cannot detect correct bios boot order.
      It may happen that hd(x,x) entries are not correct,
      thus first reboot may not work.
      Reason: grub cannot detect bios boot order.
      Fix: Either change bios boot order or change menu.lst to correct entries
      after successful boot.
      This cannot be fixed it's a restriction in grub!
    Further documentation can be found on-disk and on the wiki.
    Have fun!
    greetings

    Could you include dhclient in the next iteration of the boot image?
    I'm testing the boot image in virtualbox and dhcpcd can't get a proper configuration using dhcp, everything is correct except the dns servers.
    I believe this may be due to a change (or bug) in vbox but what is curious is that dhclient can get everything right. I've seen threads where other people report having problems with dhcpcd and dhclient working properly (with physical machines I believe). dhclient would be there only as a fallback and would need to be invoked from the command line so it doesn't force any change in the setup scheme.

  • MVC Display Binary Image from ViewBag

    I am having problem when displaying the binary image in MVC view. I stored images in database as binary format and then assigned to ViewBag in Controller. How do I assign viewbag data to image in View?
    Controller
    ItemBO mibo = new ItemBO();
    ViewBag.Picture1 = Convert.ToByte(mibo.GetImage(1));
    View
    var elem = document.createElement("img");

    elem.setAttribute("style", "height:100%");
    elem.setAttribute("alt", "Image");

    Take the following image on the left. You can see it is quite jagged.
    Since pixels are square/rectangular you cannot have a perfectly straight edge on a line that is not horizontal or vertical.
    But looking at how the edge of the object actually is, the jaggedness can be "smoothed out" and hence help determine what the perimiter should be were it perfectly smooth.
    thank you
    do you mean that lv do a low pass filter for image before he caculate the  perimeter?????
    finally which connectivity is best 4 or 8 for finding the perimeter??? or which algorthem used by lv to find the  perimeter???
