Javascript error in detailed navigation

Hi all
I have workset inside workset, so it looks like folder in the detailed navigation.
One of my users is try access this folder on his computers but get a javascript error. He can see the other iViews on the root folder, but when he tries to enter a inside folder he gets a javascript error and he can't continue.Any Ideas?

OK, so this is what I figure out, from testing on the user computer.
When the user who logged to windows is a regular user with the default settings there is no problem (No matter which user logged to the portal).
When the user who logged to windows is the problematic user, there is a problem in the portal (No matter which user logged to the portal).
So it must be a setting in the internet explorer, right?
it's not the security settings, because I add the portal to the trusted sites and the problem persist.But maybe the settings in Tools --> Internet options --> advance are wrong???
Any other ideas???

I have a problem on my anonymous role. When i click on the link page of a km navigation IView in the detailed navigation tree, the IView open itself but the navigation tree disappear and i have a Javascript error :

I talk about the parameter buildTree or NavPathUpdate.
These parameters are added when ai click on the link of the tree.

Urgent: Javascript Error in Portal Navigation

Hi,
We are using EP 6.0 SP 13.
We are facing an issue of Java script error in the portal.
The areas in which the portal is affected are as follows:
1. When we open the Login page of the portal, the Font Type, Size and
formatting and the style of "Log in" button is not normal.
2. After we login, Any component that uses javascript is not working
3. Whenever we execute any BW report we are getting alert box with
message:
"Session Manager will not work!"
4. When we try to log out, again we get scripting error.
5. We are also not able to navigate in User Mangement and Content Management.
Please help as soon as possible.

Javascript error in Standard MDM IViews on portal

Hello Xperts,
I have deployed standard MDM IViews on my portal.
In standard Resultset IView, there is a provision of saving results by using My Bags option. When I click on My Bags option and then New Bag, it throws javascript error.
Details of systems are as below.
MDM API version 5.5
Portal Version EP 7 SP07.
Appreaciate any inputs for this.

we are able to login to Data Manager with Mapped ID's and I even tried creating new IViews. Nothing worked.
As you suggested, will try restarting the portal server.

Javascript error in TLN=1

Hi everybody, i'm working in EP SP13; i put TLN = 1 in the way the documentation says.
Now (sometime) i get a strange javascript error during the navigation in the portal: it says "object required" on row 777.
When i get this error i'm not able to navigate anymore in the portal, it always remains in the home page.
The problem gets solved when i put TLN=2 again.
What could be the cause of this behaviour?

Hi Pier,
You should change number of TLN levels in two places:
1. In the TLN iView - the property Number of Display Levels.
2. In the Desktop Innerpage (inside the framework page) - the property Number of Display Levels in TLN.

JavaScript errors at function calls to "top" (e.g. team room or wpc editor)

Hi all,
formerly I run into problems when I tried to embed a team room into the content area of the NW portal.
Now I have a similar problem with the WPC page editor.
In both cases I get JavaScript errors, because the navigation calls a "top" element, which seems to be overwritten by the portal frameworkpage.
Is there any possibility to isolate these elements in a way that allows to embed them into the content area of the portal without these errors?
Or is it only possible to open them in a new window?

Javascript error generated on localization of detailed navigation links.

I m working on an application in EP KM and doing localization. when I log in with language user I m getting javascript error.
error comes when I click on the link in detailed navigation. All the detailed navigation links has been translated in 4 languages.(Spanish,French,Italian,german). Special character problem is also a problem in detailed navigation, on Page and iviews its fine.
anybody idea about translation of detailed navigation and any error that is generated by that link. ( We have done translation using worklist translation manually. )
I cannot modify Script that generates errors. Because It is auto generated by SAP.
I watched preview of available pages in that particular language, I am getting no errors.
So I think there is no error with language.
So what can be the problem actually?

Javascript error in Content Admin- Portal Content- iview Navigation window

Hi friends,
We are in the process of portal migration and as a part of this, we installed NW04 SPS 14 using Rapid Installer and then upgraded it to SPS 18. The components we upgraded are:
Java component
Portal Platform
Knowledge Management and Collaboration
Adobe Document Services
BI UDI
BI MMR
After upgradation, when we logged in to portal, we were not able to see/browse Portal pages/Roles/Iviews/Worksets (PCD Contents) under Content Administration->Portal Content.
Again, whichever window is there for navigation of PCD, we are not able to see the contents of PCD.For e.g. System Administration -> System Configuration.
Does anyone know how to solve this issue?

Chart Navigation Javascript Error

Hey guys,
I have a problem trying to navigate from a chart which has a x-axis scale and a legend (means both of them are supposed to be sent to the navigated-to report).
My legend is in hebrew btw, so what BI usually does is convert it to hex and it works.
When i try to navigate without a legend (my x-axis scale contains numbers) it works, and also when I put the legend as the x-axis and remove my numbers scale (so that hebrew values are sent, but only when one value is sent).
My problem seems to be when trying to send to filters and the second filter is in hebrew, because clicking on different categories i get different errors, like:
"Expected '['"
"Unterminated string constant"
"Expected hexadecimal digit"
etc.
Does anyone know this problem? Is there a patch maybe?

2. One of the pages in the portal contains a list of links that leads to an
invisible page after clicking on one of the links and then clicking on the

Light Framework Page-Detailed Navigation error

When i use the light framework page and change the number of display levels to 1
the detailed navigation contents disappear.
is this a known error..? Is there anyway to get around this..?

Javascript error in navigation

Hi all,
I have a problem in the portal navigation (we have Enterprise Portal 6.0).
I have the following structure:
My staff (workset) Appraisals (workset) Appraisals (page)
The page contains several links to BSP applications.
The problem occurs with only one of these links: whenever I click it the application loads and works fine, but as soon as I click on the "Appraisals" workset nothing happens and I can't go back to the links page. I have to click on the upper menu "My staff" and re-navigate to the "Appraisals" workset to see the page with links.
When the error occurs the following Javascript error is recorded by the browser:

How can I get Firefox to display details about a JavaScript error when one occurs?

When in Internet Explorer I can set it up to display JavaScript errors as follows. Select Tools then Internet Options… then the Advanced tab. Under Browsing, find '''Display a notification about every script error '''and be sure its box is checked.
I cannot find out how to do this in Firefox. I would like for it to display details about JavaScript errors when they occur instead of doing nothing.

Error when selecting detailed navigation menu item

Hi,
Usually on selection of a menu item from detailed navigation an iview appears which contains values from an R/3 system, but now when i select any item for the detailed navigation i get a download pop up window
which ask me to save the page. When i press the save button the download stops.
Is this a problem with the SAP GUI ? please give me a solution ?

Tooltip of detail navigation page is throwing error

Hi all,
When we right click the detail navigation in the page, we get a tooltip.
When we click on copy shortcut and paste it in a new browser, it should direct us to the same page. But it is not going in my case, it redirecting some default page.
How to rectify this problem.

Javascript error calling a bi 7.0 webapplication from a bsp application

Hi everyone,
This is the scenario we're facing a javascript error :
Enterprise Portal is calling a custom bsp application ( via an iview in the enterprise portal ) in the bi system with a parameter "template_id" and a value, which is the technical name of a bi web application.
The bsp application is evaluating the parameter by some custom code and creating a html page with a redirect or a maintenance message to the bi web application passed with the parameter "template_id".
The html link to the bi web application is created according to this documentation :

Purpose of the bsp application :
in the bi system there is a database table to maintain a flag for each webtemplate and infocube, which should not be called via the enterprise portal for a certain time ( some kind of maintenance switch ). The bsp application then decides to show a maintenance page for the called webtemplate or to send the redirect page to the client.
The process described above is :
working with the bi 7.01 sp7 in the bi ( enterprise portal sp22 ) in the productive system.
working in the Q&A system bi 7.01 sp8 with bi 3.5 web applications.
not working in the Q&A system bi 7.01 sp8 with bi 7.0 web applications.
The javascript error calling bi 7.0 web applications is :

We've opened a message. Support center is saying that this method isn't supported by sap. We should ommit the bsp application and the used functionality.
Is there any way to find out, what is causing this object is missing ?
Is there another way than a bsp application to use this custom maintenance function in the described system setup ?

we did some further analysis on this problem und we think we found the problem.
The error occurs while trying to execute the standard url for web templates inside a Enterprise Portal Frame, for example
https://XXX:XXX/irj/servlet/prt/portal/prtroot/pcd!3aportal_content!2fcom.sap.pct!2fplatform_add_ons!2fcom.sap.ip.bi!2fiViews!2fcom.sap.ip.bi.bex?TEMPLATE=XXX
While executing the URL a HTML-Page with some embeded Javascript-code is sent back to the browser.
In this Javascrip-Code, the method-call "dsmObj.registerAll" leads to a script error in Internet Explorer.
dsmObj.registerAll("pcd:portal_content/com.sap.pct/platform_add_ons/com.sap.ip.bi/iViews/com.sap.ip.bi.bex", "GUSID:6FC9SuhGDPIMMLwOdeHEIg--_7WQud13yeLJDz2kYoQFSg--", "1307605928212");
In SP7, the method "dsmObj.registerFullKey" is called instead of "dsmObj.registerAll". This has changed in SP8.

The object "dsmObj" seems to reference the parent frame of the Enterprise Portal.
