Javascript Error when clicking on any link in a google search

Every time !!!
I get this:
Error: Component returned failure code: 0x80070057 (NS_ERROR_ILLEGAL_VALUE) [nsIDOMXPathEvaluator.evaluate]
Now I know nothing of Javascript, but I know when to get annoyed:-)

Google is always busy updating things, and Firefox can sometimes get files out of sync. When you have a problem with one particular site, a good "first thing to try" is clearing your Firefox cache and deleting your saved cookies for the site.
1. Clear Firefox's Cache
orange Firefox button ''or'' Tools menu > Options > Advanced
On the Network mini-tab > Offline Storage : "Clear Now"
2. If needed, delete the site's cookies here
While viewing a page on the site, right-click and choose View Page Info > Security > "View Cookies"
Then try reloading the page. Does that help?

  • Since the most recent update (yesterday), periodically I am redirected to random sites when I click on a link from a Google search.

I opened Firefox yesterday morning, and it asked me to wait while it updated. When it was done, I was asked whether I wanted to enable "XUL Cache 1.0". It looked official enough, so I enabled it. Almost every time I clicked on a web link from a Google search, I was re-directed to websites like the Yellow Pages or a "Local Look-up" site. In desperation, I disabled the XUL cache extension, restarted Firefox, and things seemed fine. This morning and a couple times this afternoon however, I've been redirected to the wrong sites again. It isn't as prevalent as it was yesterday, but it is still there.

Do a malware check with some malware scanning programs on the Windows computer.<br />
You need to scan with all programs because each program detects different malware.<br />
Make sure that you update each program to get the latest version of their databases before doing a scan.<br /><br />

  • Outlook error when clicking on a link -- can't get to Firefox

This used to work, now it doesn't -- i reinstalled Windows , Firefox, Office, etc. Using FF 4.
When i click on a link in an Outlook email, i get a message saying "an error ocurred in sending the command to the application."
    How do i fix this?

My guess is that you are using IE and have both types of script debugging enabled. This is a bug in the Flex Builder 3 documentation and probably carries over into Blueprint search results.
Please let me know if this is not the case. Also please let me know if you are using the Flash Builder 4 public beta, because my understanding is that we have fixed this in FB 4.

  • Ad sites are popping up when I click on a link after a Google search in toolbar

When I do a search in the Google search window in the toolbar I get search results, but when I click on the links, instead of being taken to the site the link indicated, I get taken to a parasitical ad site like infomash.com or findstuff.com (there are several others). I can't get to the site of the link I clicked on. This does not occur when I go to www.google.com and do a search.

You need to scan your system for malware. To scan for malware, install, update and run these programs ''in this order''. They are all free for personal use, but some have limited functionality in their "free mode", but the features you'll miss are not really needed to find and remove the problem you have. Remember that ''not all programs detect the same malware''!

  • Every time i click on a link on a google search, it redirects to the google homepage.

Whenever i google search and click on a provided link, either in the toolbar or on the actual google homepage, it redirects to the homepage. Google works fine on Explorer, so i know it's a firefox issue.

I believe this is a duplicate of an existing question, which has answers: https://support.mozilla.com/en-US/questions/749313

  • When clicking on a link in an email, an error message kept coming up, implying an incombatibility .

When clicking on a link in an email, an error message kept coming up, implying an incombatibility . Please advise me what version of acrobat reader is compatible with Windows Vista.

Is this a one-off or a general problem? If a one-off, is it a link to a web page or something else? If not a web page, try control-clicking on it and choosing to download the linked file. This will at least access the file though it might be to something you don't have an application to open with. If you do this, what sort of file do you get? - select it and hit command-i to get information on it.

  • When clicking on a link, the results go to download folder; how do I get the results to display on my monitor?

When clicking on a link within our Website, the PDF results go to my download folder. To view my PDF results, I am required to go to my Adobe Reader and open that corresponding PDF file. It would be great if I could simply view the PDF on the screen without having to go to Adobe Reader (v. 10.1.4). Thanks for any assistance or guidance on this issue.

    Hello,
    Check your PDF settings at:
    * Tools (or [[Image: New Fx Menu]]) > Options > Applications
It might be set to "Save", change it to "Preview in Firefox" or any other alternative of your choice.
Let us know if that solves your issue!
