  • Crystal Reports XI R2 Javascript error when viewing web report

    Post Author: msilka
    CA Forum: General
    I have an ASP web application that was working fine with XI but when I upgraded to XI R2 I received the following error when displaying a report in the report viewer.
    Line: 461
    Char: 1
    Error: Object expected
    Code: 0
    URL: my report URL
    When I debug with a javascript debugger the line in question reads as
    addOnloadFunction(reportViewerNamebobjInit);
    I need to get the reports to run without this error.
    Thank you

    The only personal folders visible from under Admin panel are for users Administrator and Guest. I've tried to query CMS tables but these store entries not in plain text so I cannot identify entries connected to personal folders. I have also tried to do this via Query Repository tool but all returned entries were ok.
    I have also noticed that when trying to load group from LDAP after it returns error "LDAP: Failed to commit objects to server : Duplicate object name in the same folder." entry for this group is created in CMS table. Also this group is then visible in admin Groups panel. No users are created with the group and when I'm trying to list users belonging to added group it returns "internal secLDAP security plug-in error" but without any other suggestion what went wrong.

  • Receiving Javascript error when viewing data grids in HFM Web

    Version 9.2.0.1
    JRE 1.4.2
    When browsing certain section of balance sheet in several data grids, HFM returns an error Message--Invalid Javascript returned by the Server. This occurs for all users that try to access this section of the grids. The data can be explored fine in HFM desktop client. Anyone encountered this before and know of a solution?
    Thanks
    Jeff

    I would agree with Kieron, that some element in your metadata has changed.
    Try to recreate the exact same Grid from new, and see if the issue occurs. If no, save as the required grid.
    You could save as a new grid, extract both and compare the code. This could identify the reason and assist on the other offending grids.
    As an aside, if you have a cluster, try direct server IP access (although this is the same as going to the server, but using your workstation).
    Log a call with support if this does not work, as it may be something more fundamental.

  • How can I get Firefox to display details about a JavaScript error when one occurs?

    When in Internet Explorer I can set it up to display JavaScript errors as follows. Select Tools then Internet Options… then the Advanced tab. Under Browsing, find '''Display a notification about every script error '''and be sure its box is checked.
    I cannot find out how to do this in Firefox. I would like for it to display details about JavaScript errors when they occur instead of doing nothing.

  • Javascript error when opening CS3 on pc..?

    I cannot open ID on my CS3 package using my pc. The error appears twice in a box on screen stating
    'JavaScript Error'
    'Error Number 45'
    'Error string :Object is Invalid'
    'Line 387'
    also
    'JavaScript Error'
    'Error Number 45'
    'Error String; Object is Invalid'
    'Line 428'
    there was a problem initially due to program plug-ins reported missing so i tried going onto 'Help' and clicking on 'Configure Plug-Ins' from the drop down menu.
    Not sure what i did.. but now i cannot use ID as it shuts down after the javascript errors are reported.
    Anyone help?

    hi
    thanks for all the helpful info
    i tried to reinstall INDESIGN only... didnt work same problem.
    i tried by uninstalling INDESIGN and then reinstalling it only.... didnt work same problem.
    I guess im going to have to do a full reinstall.. not a problem, do i need to contact yourselves to get clearance for a reinstallation?
    I had a hard drive crash about 6 months ago and had to reinstall, had to phone Adobe and get an online clearance as id exceeded my sole installation for my CS3 hard copies.
    thanks again

    Subject: Javascript error when opening CS3 on pc..?
    I'd bet the original scenario was something like you tried to open a file and saw a message that you were missing plugins, or they were out of date, and that you should update or upgrade. That's the typical message you get when you try to open a file saved from a newer version of ID. Unfortunately it's quite misleading -- nothing you do to the plugins will help you in that case, and trying to use newer versions would be disastrous.
    You should be able to selectively reinstall just ID. If you have the DVD you can run the installer and do a "Repair" installation, and if that doesn't work, you should be able to uninstall ID, then reinstall without removing the whole suite. If that still doesn't work, bite the bullet, uninstall everything and run the clean script (http://kb.adobe.com/selfservice/viewContent.do?externalId=kb402767&sliceId=1), then reinstall. I'm not sure what happens with a downloaded installer, but I suspect it works the same. I'm pretty sure I read somewhere that to uninstall from a download you need to have it in the same location as was originally used for the installation.

  • JAVASCRIPT ERROR WHEN DISABLED THE WELCOME AREA

    Hi sdn,
    I have modified our portal design. I set the welcome area and the logo area to the value none. Now I am always getting a javascript error when I call the side in my browser.
    I get the message that an object is missing and the browser can not set the focus to an element ==> because I have disabled two areas of the portal header.
    I have recognized this problem in all portal releases from EP6SP2 to EP6SP9.
    What can I do to prevent these error messages?

    I think this issue is fixed by this note : 798647. Suggested to go with latest hotfix.

  • Javascript Error when calling EPCM.raiseEvent

    Hi all!
       I'm having a Javascript error when calling EPCM.raiseEvent function. The error is :
       'The object does not accept the method or property'
      Maybe the traslation is not perfect (I'm using spanish for my browser). Here is my call:
       EPCM.raiseEvent('myPar','myEvent','myParam');
      What can be wrong?
      Thanks in advance, and sorry for my terrible english.

    Hi!
       This error is very strange... I accidentally changed the event name at consumer, but not at producer.... and the error didn't appear... Obviuslly it did'nt work, but it's so strange that if the event is not cought, there is no error (but nothing happens)
       I also noticed that doesn't matter which event I raise (I have two of them), the error is thrown at the same line, and they have totally different caller and receiver functions....
    Thanks In advance.

  • Javascript error when editing PCD-Objects

    Hello,
    suddenly I get a JavaScript-Error when I try to edit rules or pages within the PCD (EP6.0.2.35).
    When I use the script debugger I see an "access denied" error when the function
    window.frames["ivuFrm_page0ivu1"].document.close();
    is called. Sometimes it works though (after a server restart, the 1st edit seems to work).
    Any ideas?
    Thanks in advance,
    Reinhard

    Solved it on my own:
    We have the portal running as windows service, and therefore had "-Xrs" configured in the java parameters. According to a SAP-Note (to configure ThreadDumps) we deleted the "-Xrs"-Parameter and this seemed to have caused the JavaScript-Errors (!!!!!).

  • Javascript error when selecting Spry Menu Bar in Design View

    Hi there,
    I get the following error message when trying to format the Spry Menu Bar in Design View:
    "while executing inspectSelection in spry_menu.htm, a Javascript error occurred."
    I have tried the following troubleshooting steps:
    deleting site cache
    closing/re-opening Dreamweaver
    deleting Spry Menu Bar and recreating - same error occurs.
    Other information:
    I am using a MacBook Pro
    it happens when clicking on the Menu Bar itself. I just want to change the properties
    the Spry Menu Bar does not appear in Live View.
    Here is a link to my site on Browserlab. It has not yet been published:

    Is it a case of changing one of the values in the spry_menubar.js file?
    Can anyone help?
    Thanks,
    Charlie

    Hi there,
    The problem appears to have returned. I am getting the same error message as before and also an error saying there is a syntax error in my source code. Dreamweaver tells me which line the error is in:
    var MenuBar1 = new Spry.Widget.MenuBar("hope_menu", {imgDown:"SpryAssets/SpryMenuBarDownHover.gif", imgRight:"SpryAssets/SpryMenuBarRightHover.gif"});
    In response to your earlier questions/points:
    I am using version 0.13 of SpryMenuBar.js (is this what you mean?)
    The menu now shows in Live View as I would expect it to

  • Javascript error when a table is placed within a table popin.

    Hi experts,
    I have a node 'Parent' which contains one attribute and a non singleton child node called 'Child' which contains five attributes.
    I have created a Table 'OuterTable' in the view. The 'datasource' property of this table is set to the node 'Parent'. I inserted a popin in to this table and added another table 'InnerTable' as the content of this popin. InnerTable is bound to the node 'Child'.
    For each parent element, there will be 'n' number of child elements. When i run the application i can see 'm' number of table popins(corresponding to 'm' number of parent elements) and inside each popin a table containing 'n' rows(corresponding to 'n' number of child nodes for each parent element).
    When i try to select a row from the table in second or third popin, the browser shows a javascript error at the bottom left hand corner. Although it does not affect the application, i am curious why this is happening.
    The main problem is that, we have to call this webdynpro application from a function module in R/3 which will show the application in the IE engine inside SAP GUI. In this case when we select any rows in the table, a pop up with a message 'Internet Explorer Script Error' comes and we are not able to proceed with the application.
    Any help to resolve this issue will be highly appreciated and rewarded with points
    Shabeer.

    Hi Shabeer,
    Can you try this
    File location
    1) <Installation Drive>\usr\sap\<System Name>\
    <Instance Name>\JC00\j2ee\cluster\server<Number>\
    apps\sap.com\irj\servlet_jsp\irj\root\portalapps\
    com.sap.portal.htmlb\jslib\jslib/sapUrMapi_ie6.js
    2) j2ee_<Instance Number>\cluster\server\services\
    servlet_jsp\work\jspTemp\irj\root\portalapps\
    com.sap.portal.htmlb\jslib\sapUrMapi_ie6.js
    and try this
    Find the function "function sapUrMapi_init()"
    and the line
    ur_system.emptyhoverurl = ur_system.mimepath+"emptyhover.html";
    Add the following if condition before this line:
    if (ur_system.emptyhoverurl == null || ur_system.emptyhoverurl == "")
    so that the result reads like follows:
    if (ur_system.emptyhoverurl == null || ur_system.emptyhoverurl == "")
    ur_system.emptyhoverurl = ur_system.mimepath+"emptyhover.html";
    Take a backup . You can try this on your local system before trying on the server.
    Keep in mind that the object can be cached in both the server and
    browser cache.
