JavaScript function in Web Application Designer

Hello,
I have a question to JavaScript functions. I created in mime repository a javascript file with function HEADER() and a web template. Now I want to call this function in the web template. In the head I use following code:
<script language="JavaScript" src="/sap/bw/Mime/Customer/JavaScript/Test_New_Button.js" ></script>
In the body I use following code:
<script type="text/javascript">HEADER();</script>
If I execute this web template in the browser, nothing will be displayed. What could be the problem?
Thanks for your help.
Regards
Anne

Anne,
It could be that the Javascript file cannto be accessed - check that - also have local code in the template and see if it works - also make sure javascript is not switched off -- some browsers allow you to do that..
One more way to check the same is :
Install theMicrosoft Script debugger <a href="http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx?FamilyID=2f465be0-94fd-4569-b3c4-dffdf19ccd99">microsoft Script Debugger</a>
and see if the code is being called..
Arun
Hope it helps..

  • Problems with planning function in Web Application Designer in 2004s

    Hi All,
I have a problem in WAD 2004s with planning function. I created a web template that includes a query. It runs on the enterprise portal, and I can edit this query. The problem is: I don't know how to save this edited query, because when I use the button with function save, the new value doesn't appear in the relevant info cube.
Anybody can help me how to save the new values to the info cube?
    Thanks in advance
    Dezso Toth

I don't know if you ever resolved this, but you may just ned to change a setting on your query properties.  When data is entered into planning layouts and saved, that data is put into a "yellow" request in the underlying infocube.
Until the necessary volume of data is posted which causes this to change to "green", it remains yellow.  Note that this request could also be changed to green several ways.  i.e. manually, by flipping the "real-time infocube behavior" switch, etc.
Anyway, as long as it "yellow" your query, by default will not consider it, unless you change it's properties to tell it to consider "yellow" requests.  This can be done via RSRT and pressing the "properties" button.  Choose request status "2" and your problem should be solved

  • Web Application Designer need help ASAP

    Hi All,
I have a requirement to customize the analysis item in a web application designer.
I have created new templetes and added a analysis with a query view as data provider .
in the output I require to hide some rows of the query view and also change the color of the text i.e the numbers.
How to modify the output of the analysis item which is coming from a query view or is there any way where I can modify the output of the web templete.
    Thanking You,
    Rukmini

    Dear Devi,
If you do not want to use the default display and behavior of the Analysis Web item, you can use the Modification parameter to change them. You can modify the table structure and the table cells.
The Modification parameter provides modules whose use can be controlled using additional parameters.
This function enables you to use similar options to those available in earlier releases with the Web Design API for Tables. Unlike the Web Design API for Tables, modifications enable you to make targeted changes to the display and behavior without any programming.
    Prerequisites
The modules are the main prerequisites for making modifications to the Analysis Web item. The modules are implemented in Java. The SAP Basis infrastructure in SAP NetWeaver 7.0 does not support any customer modifications or extensions to Java coding. Customers are therefore not able to develop their own modules for modifications to the Analysis Web item.
SAP delivers a number of sample modules. You can use parameters to modify the display and behavior of these modules.
    Procedure
You use the modules as follows:
           1.      Select a module from the sample modules.
           2.      Specify the module in the Modification parameter of the Analysis Web item.
           3.      Control the display and behavior of the module by specifying the module-specific parameters.
    Result
The table of the Analysis Web item is displayed in an individual manner using the modules. The behavior of the table may also be different. For example, you can define commands for table cells.
    Example
For example, you can define a fixed column width or display comments in cells.

  • URL link in rows/colomns of a report web application designer.

    Hi,
I would like to create a URL link in a report which jumps to documents on livelink.
    For example:
    1.  bw    30.000    www. google.nl
    2.  sap   40.000    www. sap.com
    3. basis  50.000   www. nu.nl
    etc.
    etc.
Do all the rows have different URLS, is that possible in the web application designer? Or do I have to use RRI? Or a user exit?
Thanks for your help en replies.
    Rishma.
Edited by: R. Debi on Oct 7, 2010 11:20 AM

I used the RRI already but would like to have a hyperlink in the report. (So, the prefix of the URL is always the same an I have put this in RRI and used the & and contract ID as dynamic part of the URL.)
In a BW web report, our customer would like to display a characteristic value as a hyperlink, so that when clicking on the link, the user is taken to an external website holding a document.  SO I am just looking for a javascript perhaps? Or maybe even abap in transformation? To actually create the hyperlink in this report.
    Thanks a lot,
    Rishma

  • To use Web Application Designer release 2004s do we need to have portals???

    Hi
I would like some clarity regarding whther we need a portal or not.
If you use Web Application Designer (SAP BW 3.x) it works fine, you can create reports and then it shows in SAP Easy Access under favourites. Executes fine, no portal is used.
Now when I want to use the new Web Application Designer I can not execute the reports. Gives me error
"Java communication error: RFC destination NOT_CONFIGURED does not exist", the window it appears in has a text saying it can't conect to the portal. Then notes that I look at regarding this seems that the connection between SAP BW and Portal must be set up.
So can please someone tell me whether you need the portal to use the new Web Application Designer release 2004s
    Thanks in advance

    YOu neeed BI Java configured
If you do not use any new BEx Web functions, do you have to install the usage types BI Java and EP?

  • Web Application Designer: Column width on analysis_item with BW 7.0

    Hi,
I'm new to SAP world and I have found a problem I'm not able to solve. I'm working with the Web Application Designer and I want to modify the cell properties (such as cell width) for aligning different queries. In fact, my question are:
    <b>
    1. Is it possible to hard-code/specify column widths of the analysis_item?
    2. The property width of the analysis_item doesn't work, does it?
    </b>
Thanks for your time and efforts.

    Hi,
I have just discovered the capability of modifying columns widths with css properties.
So if I add to the head section of the html:
    div.prueba2 .urSTTDBdr1
    div.prueba2 .urSTTDBdr
    div.prueba2 .urSTTDBdr2
And later I put the AnalysisItem between a div class="prueba2" and /div, the columns widths are changed.
Do you know where can I find all the style properties (such as urSTTDBdr1) and its functions?
    Thanks

  • Calling a webservice from within Bex Web Application Designer

    Hi
I have a web-template built with BEx web application designer which also contains textboxes. This text should be stored by calling a webservice (standard BI-documents are not an option).
Can anyone tell me how I could call a webservice from within the BEx web template to store the text contained in the textbox? The webservice-call should include some of the filter-varialbes of the web application.
Is this only possible by the use of a JavaScript WebItem? If so - does anyone have an example of such a JavaScript.
    Thanks a lot in advance.
    Kind regards.
    Christoph

Thanks for your response. The BSP page would work out fine if I only needed to save the data.
But the next time I call the webtemplate, the textarea should be filled by another webservice call with the stored text (so the text can be modified und saved again). This will not be possible by calling a BSP page.
Do yoiu have any suggestions how to integrate the text (return value from the webservice call) into the textbox in the webtemplate?
    Kind regards.

  • How to maintain Master Data through Web Application Designer layout.

    Hi.
I’m Internship and I have to do something that it doesn’t work.
    I explain to you.
I have to make a layout via Web Application Designer to permit users to add a line in the master data XST_RFC.
For that, I did two things:
    First I followed this url : http://www.sdn.sap.com/irj/scn/go/portal/prtroot/docs/library/uuid/607193d5-cdd5-2b10-c699-8ff04c3124f6?QuickLink=index&overridelayout=true&38392712686871
The result; I have a problem with the appendix of method execute “DATA : ZL_WORKTEXT Type ZFREETEXT”. Here, SAP doen’t permit me to put XST_RFC (my characteristic to add by the user) but just /BIC/PXST_RFC… So, I tried with that and at the moment of the test in the Wad, the application say me “no Master Data in XST_RFC”. I know that there are no MD in my char, I just want to add once…
    So it doesn’t Work.
Secondly, after testing, the Function Module test works. When a put an ID in the test page of SAP Logon in parameters, the FM put this ID and create a new line with this new ID. So I had an idea, use directly this function module in a Fox Formula but, when a call my function, I have a problem with variable/parameters type.
My variable is TYPE XST_RFC , but my parameters is TYPE  /BIC/PXST_RFC….
    My Fox Formula
    DATA NEW_RFC TYPE XST_RFC.
    NEW_RFC = VARV(XVOU_RFC).
    CALL FUNCTION ZBWDSST_XX_MASTERDATAMAINTAIN
    EXPORTING
    VAR_RFC = NEW_RFC.
My error message Types of parameter VAR_RFC () and variable NEW_RFC(C) are inconsistent
If you can help me, I work on this issue for 4 days and I waste my time.
    Thanks.
    BR

    Dear All,
The text flow for 0WS_QUEST & 0WS_QSTNNR is sufficient to make available Criteria from source system questionnaire in BW.
After the text load (even it does not generate SID) we can already use Tcode SRM_VE_GROUPING & SRM_VE_WEIGHTING for customization of groupping and weighting in BW.

  • Rolemenu not found in BEx  BI Web Application Designer - Urgent

    Hi,
I am unable to find the Rolemenu in BI Web application designer which was there in BW 3.5.
Kindly let me know where can i find this in BI.
    Regards,
    Arvind M

    Hi Arvind,
In BW 7.0 Role Menu Web item will be replaced by the role-based display of BI content in SAP NetWeaver Portal. In addition to the pure Web-based display of BI content in roles, additional functions result from this, especially in regard to display and editing of any content in one environment.
    Reward if it helps,

  • Web Application Designer uses wrong server name

    Hello,
I am using BI under NW04s.
When I execute a web template in Web Application Designer it opens up the url with the server name without it's FQDN name and than I get: "URL used, <URL>, is invalid; distributed session management (DSM) cannot function. See SAP Notes 596698 and 654326.
I've looked at these notes but I don't see how it can solve my problem.
I've already followed the suggestions in <a href="https://www.sdn.sap.com/irj/sdn/thread?threadID=279031">this</a> thread including checking RZ10 and RSPOR_T_PORTAL table.
    Any other ideas...?

  • Query on WAD (Web Application Designer)

We have got request from the user on one WAD u2013 Web Application Designer Report for the extra functionality.
This WAD report contains 7 tabs, for each tab there is a separate query view has bee designed with default variable values.
While running the WAD report user will input values in the variable window for the variables (Eg: Fiscal Year, Org.Structureu2026etc), after executing the report, if the user switch to another tab in the same report, the variable values entered before execution of the report will not pass to the another tab by default because the query views have been designed in such a way that each query view will have its own default values.
Now the user is expecting the variable values entered for the first tab should be passed to other tabs as well, is it possible to pass values from one tab to another tab?
If its possible, could you guide us where (HTML code or web template parameters or any another things) exactly the required changes/modifications need to be made in WAD report?
    Thanks in advance.

    hi vishal ,

  • Freeze a Column in WAD (Web Application Designer)

    Hi,
I have a web template in WAD that has an analysis_item, which data provider (DP1).  The data provider (DP1) has a query attached to it.
My goal is to be able to freeze a column (data column) in the analysis_item.
I looked at all the properties of the analysis_item, but I didn't find any properties that I can use to freeze a column.  I saw another discussion thread on Freezing column and rows, but there wasn't an answer for it in that thread.
I even tried to search for a way to freeze a column using JavaScript , and I found the link below using CSS (cascading style sheet) to accomplish the freezing of a column for a non SAP web application.  However, I was not able to figure out how to apply this method in WAD and specifically in the analysis_item.
    http://web.tampabay.rr.com/bmerkey/examples/locked-column-csv.html
Do you know any method to freeze a column when displaying data via the analysis_item?
I would really appreciate any suggestion you have.
    Thank you,
    Katelyn

    Dear Katelyn Dang  ,
    Freeze column
On the properties tab select table. goto web item tab. in number of data columns displayed put value as 4. (you can change as per ur need).
    Also go through thes links
    http://web.tampabay.rr.com/bmerkey/examples/locked-column.css.html
    http://web.tampabay.rr.com/bmerkey/examples/locked-column-csv.html
    For visiblity
you can set visible rows and columns in the specific properties of web item table! Just click the table in the Web Application Designer and than look into the specific properties. Select "Number of Data Rows..." or "Number of Data Columns..." as you wish!
    Hope it helps

  • Web application Designer - New UI Elements

    Folks,
I am working with BI 7.0 using the new Web application designer to build a dashboard. I would like to add a progress bar to the dashboard, but this UI element has not been included in the WAD.
Is there any way to create this UI element and insert it into my template either with javascipt, jsp or any web technology?
Any comments you can offer would be very much appreciated.
    Thanks,
    Bill

Hi If you are using SPS14, you can use the new Customer exit item, which enables you to add custom HTML or Jscript into the Webtemplate at runtime dynamically.
I use this functionality to add Flash Graphs and PPT export to the template.

  • Navigational charts in Web Application Designer

    Hello all,
I have a question regarding actionable charts in Web Application Designer. For example a user selects a bar in a chart and based on that selection filters to additional reports or changes existing charts/tables in the Web Application Designer? I know you can right click and setup RRI then goto functionality but I would like the capability to click on the bar chart and then proceed with the action.
I know this can be done with Geo enabled Map Web Items where you click on a state/country and drill in for additional information but I'd like to know if it can be done with in charts. I know there is an option in WAD to setup Eventing, maybe there you set the onclick event to do the function?
    Any help is appreciated.
    Thanks.

Does anyone have any suggestions? I keep reading its possible but found no examples.
    Thanks,
