Javascript not working when pdf is rendered in the browser IE9

I have a javascript on the initialize event of a field and it works fine when doing a Preview PDF but not when i render the PDF in the browser
if(F.Page_1.field1.rawValue == null)
F.Page_1.field1.presence = "invisible";
F.Page_1.field2.presence = "visible";
Can some one pelase help?

Hi,
The initialize event is supported in browsers, but the issue may be if the form is saved as a Dynamic XML Form in the save-as dialog in LC Designer. Or if you using LC Enterprise Suite to render the forms at runtime, if you have set the render in LC Designer: File > Form Properties > Defaults to Dynamic XML Form:
Changing an object's presence requires a dynamic form.

Can you please provide us with a little more information on your systems and configuration / topology, such as, what call control are you using (Cisco VCS, CUCM, other?). what type of "Bridge" are you using (is this a Cisco MCU, or Cisco TelePresence Server, or other device?), what versions of the software are on each of the devices, etc. The more information we have about your environment will help us assist you better. But saying that, if all your core equipment isn't Cisco, you may have more luck in the forums for the manufacturer of such equipment (ie Polycom's Support Community).

No. You are the only one. The way I know is that I don't have the problem, therefore no one else can have it.
Seriously, no matter what problem you have, with a half billion iPhones in use, someone else will have the same or similar problem. So knowing that doesn't help solve it in the slightest. As it's new and still in warranty I would take it to an Apple store. Make a genius bar appointment first so you won't have a long wait.

Help! Javascript not working when object moved from one page to another!

Hello all:
I am new to Adobe Livecycle Designer (version 8.0). I have created a 3 page interactive pdf form with numerous objects (text fields, radio buttons, drop-down boxes, etc.), that our business wants to begin using soon.
I am having difficulty with some of my Javascript not working with a few of my objects on page 2 of the form. Specifically, there is a drop-down box for "Country" on page 2 of my form. When the user selects, for example, "United States" from the list, I have Javascript that is supposed to change the "Currency" drop-down box rawValue to "US Dollars" accordingly (upon the change event).
I think my Javascript syntax is proper, but I am not certain. Here is my simple Javascript associated with the "Country" drop-down box (Note: rawValue 80 = "United States" and rawValue 105 = "US Dollars"):
form1.Page1.cmbContactInfoCountry::change: - (JavaScript, client) -
if (this.rawValue == 80) {
     cmbCurrency.rawValue = 105;
This seems pretty straight forward and it WORKS when my "Country" drop-down box is moved to page 1 of the form, but it WILL NOT WORK when I move the "Country" drop-down box back to page 2 of the form (which is where it belongs).
Does anyone have any suggestions or solutions? I have spent probably 6-8 hours racking my brain trying to figure out why it works when on one page, but it does not work when move to a different page. I am guessing that I may have corrupted something OR that I am not fully addressing the proper name of the object?
Please help!

Unfortunately, I am still having issues with getting Javasript for the cmbCountry object to work with the cmbCurrency object. I haved pasted my new Javascript below.
JavaScript for cmbCountry object:

When I select "Canada" from the cmbCountry drop-down object, the rawValue of the cmbCurrency drop-down object is changed to "US Dollars" (when it is clearly defined as "Canadian Dollars"). When I select "United States" from the cmbCountry drop-down object, the rawValue of the cmbCurrency drop-down object stays blank for uknown reasons. Very strange.

Why can't Firefox still not show a pdf properly from within the browser and do we need insufficient and not working add-ons?

I never succeeded to show a pdf properly in the Firefox browser.
There is an add-on, but the add-on itself tells you already in most cases that you should download the pdf because it can't show the pdf properly. I can't understand why that is! It makes my live much more complicated, since we have an application running that constantly should be able to show pdf's from within the browser.

The add-on you are talking about is pdf.js. pdf.js does it best to show you what the pdf's it is given are, but pdf.js is not 100% compatible with all elements that can be put inside a pdf. Another problem pdf.js faces is that many pdf's generated with proprietary software either do not conform to the pdf spec or use proprieatary elements that only pdf readers that the company has designed or partnered with can interpret. I promise you Mozilla doesn't want your life to be any more complicated than it is but sometimes it is simply not possible for pdf.js to read a document when the manufacturer of the program that generated the pdf doesn't play by the rules.

Scrowing with touchpad not working when pdf file is opened in one of the the browsers tabs

When I have a .pdf open from one of the browser's tabs I am not able to scroll with my touch pad in the rest of the browser's tabs. Once I close the tab with the pdf everything is working fine. I using Firefox on my Toshiba Satellite Pro laptop.

Have you checked to see if your PDF add-on is up to date? You should take a look at the [[Opening PDF files within Firefox]] Knowledge Base article. There is a lot of good information in there. You should try both of the suggested PDF add-ons to see if that fixes the issue.

Javascript not working when JSP container changed. Why?

I'm migrating from Resin (if you happen to know what it is) to Tomcat.
My web app runs fine on Tomcat, without any change in the code. What surprises me is that, javascript, which works perfectly fine while the webapp runs on Resin, seems to have problems when the webapps runs on Tomcat.
This does not seem to make sense to me: javascript is executed on the client (browser) and should have nothing to do with the JSP container.
Can someone tell me why, and how to fix this? Thanks!

see if your browser supports something like a javascript console or debugger.
e.g.:
- MS InternetExplorer shows a warning icon in the left bottom corner if there is a javascript error. doubleclicking on it shows the error type and the location (url, line, char) where the error occured.
- Mozilla supports a javascript console which shows up javascript errors or warnings.
have a look at what the browser says on your errors.
if your javascripts are hardcoded it HAS TO BE a browser (misinterpretation) or javascript error. serverside has definitively nothing to do with javascript...

It is not working when jsp is outside of the Controller(.jpf) directory

I am new to Portal. I am using Weblogic 8.1SP2. The problem is when there is a general jsp I want to put it common directory. It is working fine when I run starting from individual Controller but When I put its portlet in Portal, then the action is NOT falling into its caller's Controller but into the root Controller. Is this normal ? Is there a way to have the action call back to its caller Controller ? The director structure is :

Yes. I did try to put directory path in front of the action to tell which Controller it should go. It didn't throw exception but It acted like called directly from that Controller. It is not under portal.
Does anyone think the approach to have the common used jsp outside the Controller feasible ?

Setting PDFCompatibility not working when saving a file from the API

I am trying to save a PDF file using version 1.3 compatibility using the CS3 API. I am flexible to which Action I use. Right now I am trying to use kAISaveDocumentAsAction.
According to AIPDFFormatAction.h, I can set kAIPDFCompatibilityKey to kAIPDFCompatibility13. However, that same header file indicates that these keys should be used with the kAIExportDocumentAction, not the kAISaveDocumentAsAction.
Not surprisingly, the SaveAs Action works, but saves a PDF in version 1.5 (probably not checking the kAIPDFCompatibilityKey).
I have tried using the kAIExportDocumentAction instead... However, in CS3, the Export action does not support PDF as an output type. Maybe in earlier versions this was different.
Can anyone help? Below is the current code I am using that produces a PDF, but not a version 1.3 PDF.

Why does the "Move to new window" function that I used to use not work when I right click on the tab anymore?

It used to be when I right clicked on the tab in Firefox that I could use the "Move to new window" option. Now when I go down to that option it looks as though it is going to work, but nothing happens. The other day I changed a few options in Firefox, but I don't remember changing anything that sounded as though it would have this effect and now I can't find any options that seem to fix it. Ajax tabs not working when asp dropdown list in the tab

I am using asp.net 3.5 framework. My page has modelpopup in that ajax tab controls used. one of the tab has asp:dropdownlist, this dropdown list is binding data from dataset. the tab which has dropdown lists is not working. it is working fine in IE9.0.

CFIMAGE not working when there is a . in the file path?

I’m trying to use CFIMAGE for the first time and running into an issue. I am guess it is because my path has a period in it but I am not sure and I am not sure how to get around it if that is indeed the problem.
I’m using ExpandPath to get the directory path but I have tried it other way with the same result. The path is
C:\Websites\mywebsite.com\www\images
I’m just trying to take a file in the C:\Websites\mywebsite.com\www\images\temp directory and resize it then rename it to the memberid with 300 on the end and save it to this directory C:\Websites\mywebsite.com\www\images\members

Using both "destination" and "name" works fine for me on windows. Though as I said, it is usually more common to use one or the other (not both).

Given the fact that your code contained the word "optional", you may have inadvertently copied a usage/syntax description rather an actual code example. Most of the descriptions contain the word "optional" to separate the mandatory and optional attributes. They are just descriptions not working code. Look for the actual code examples further down in the page (usually in a mono-font like courier).

Pdf buttons not working when pdf loads in browser

Problem is that developing a fully compatible PDF viewer is a very complex task that requires a lot of time and effort, so they decided (it seems) to settle for something that's "good enough". So now users are stuck with something that usually does an OK job when it comes to just displaying a simple PDF file, but as soon as you have a more complex file (for example, one with form fields) it breaks down entirely and either fails to load the file at all, or does so incorrectly, and the developers are left sorting out the mess...

Accesskey used in uix templates not working when page is rendered

I have a uix template that contains a few links. These links have accesskeys set in them.
However when rendering a uix page that extends the uix template the accesskeys dont work. Any ideas as to whether this is a vaild way of doing accesskeys?
