I installed sampleportal and did all the changes according to the documents,
when
the server started, there is this error:
Unable to deploy EJB: CatalogWebService from catalogwe.jar:
Unable to bind EJB Home Interface to the JNDI name: sampleportal.BEA_commerce.CatalogWebService.
The error was: javax.naming.nameAlreadyBoundException: Failed to bind remote
object...to
replica aware stub at CatalogWebService; remaining name'sampleportal.BEA_commerce'
After the server started with the above error, I tried to run the app, here
is what
occured:
PortalPersistenceManager: portal'sampleportal/sampleportal' not found.
Has anybody seen this before?

    You're adding the entry "ou=people,dc=company,dc=co,dc=in" and not an entry under "ou=people,dc=company,dc=co,dc=in".
    The dn of the new entry should be something like "cn=Sai Krishna,ou=people,dc=company,dc=co,dc=in" when you call ctx.bind(dn,...)

    That is not entirely true but it certainly helps and is generally the only way it is used anyway so one might as well do it.

THe following snippet illustrates://create Sun RMI Registry on//non-standard portjava.rmi.registry.Registry reg = java.rmi.registry.LocateRegistry.createRegistry(10099);//get WL init context //using WLInitialContextFactoryContext cxt = new InitialContext();//bind a link to Sun Registry in //the WL JNDI initial contextcxt.rebind( "MyRegistry", new javax.naming.LinkRef( "rmi://localhost:10099") );Object ref; //this lookup returns //com.sun.jndi.rmi.registry.RegistryContext//as expectedref = cxt.lookup( "rmi://localhost:10099");System.out.println( ref.getClass().getName() ); //this lookup however, fails with //javax.naming.NameNotFoundException ref = cxt.lookup("MyRegistry");System.out.println( ref.getClass().getName() );Note that this same code works perfectly in JBoss if you simply set the appropriate environment for the InitialContext().Any help would be appreciated. Thanks !John

  • Object not exported for Remote object in WSAD

    Hi,
    I have a few classes that extend and implement java.rmi.remote object. The JAR is placed under WEB-INF/lib of a web application.
    I am using WSAD 5.1.1. When I start the server, it gives me the following error.
    Can somebody make out anything?? Please help
    Error Stack:
    [5/3/05 12:07:04:188 IST] 3d410866 Helpers W NMSV0610I: A NamingException is being thrown from a javax.naming.Context implementation. Details follow:
    Context implementation: com.ibm.ws.naming.jndicos.CNContextImpl
    Context method: rebind
    Context name: localhost/nodes/localhost/servers/server1
    Root exception is java.rmi.NoSuchObjectException: object not exported
    I tried creating the stub and the skeleton classes manually and added them to the JAR file but still I get the same error. The JAR is in the CLASSPATH of the server.
    I also tried creating a simple remote object and tried binding it:
    Hashtable propertiesMap = new Hashtable();
    propertiesMap.put(Context.INITIAL_CONTEXT_FACTORY,"com.sun.jndi.cosnaming.CNCtxFactory");
    propertiesMap.put(Context.PROVIDER_URL, "iiop://localhost:2809" );
    Context context= new InitialContext(propertiesMap);
    myRemote instance = new myRemote();
    context.bind("TestString",instance);
    Even this gives :

    1 - JMS clustering is an advanced concept, and, in most cases, uses "distributed queues". In case you haven't already, I highly recommend reading the JMS chapter of the new book "Professional Oracle WebLogic" as well as the related chapters in the JMS Programmer's Guide in the edocs.
    2 - The basic problem below is that you have two different queues that have matching JNDI names, but are in the same cluster.
    3 - The config snippet supplied below does not include the queue configuration. Queue configuration is embedded within the referenced module files.
    4 - Please ensure that you follow configuration best practices, as per: http://download.oracle.com/docs/cd/E15523_01/web.1111/e13738/best_practice.htm#CACJCGHG

    To bind an object into the JNDI tree check the documentation here:
    http://e-docs.bea.com/wls/docs81/jndi/jndi.html#475702
    If this is to be used by all your applications that you deploy on the server check out the startup/shutdown class documentation here:
    http://edocs.bea.com/wls/docs81/ConsoleHelp/startup_shutdown.html

    That is right I agree. And I guess that happened because I was trying to doing different permutation-combination with the naming scheme and I forgot to update slapd.conf. And even after made that change it was showing the same error. The poster forgot to mention to include java.schema. That change made it work finally.
    Thanks for your reply.

    Greetings,
    javax.naming.NameNotFoundException. Root exception is
    org.omg.CosNaming.NamingContextPackage.NotFound
    =================
    Below is the line of my LoginServlet class which is
    referred to in the stack trace - Object object =
    context.lookup
                        ( "java:comp/env/ejb/WarehouseClerk" );The root of the naming context is 'java:comp/env' and this is where lookup automatically begins for EJBs and resources. IOW, by specifying "java:comp/env/ejb/WarehouseClerk" as the EJB lookup name the server is actually treating this as "java:comp/env/java:comp/env/ejb/WarehouseClerk". Specify only the ejb context ("ejb/WarehouseClerk") in your lookup and you should be fine.
    Any help would be most appreciated.
    SeanRegards,
    Tony "Vee Schade" Cook

  • Looking up a remote session bean javax.naming.NotContextException

    Hi,
    I am having trouble when looking up for a remote session bean from my ejb application. I am running jboss 4.0.4 with ejb3.0. I am trying to access a remote computer running jboss 4.0.4 but with 2.1 option. Following is my code
    Properties props = new Properties();     props.setProperty(Context.INITIAL_CONTEXT_FACTORY,"org.jboss.security.jndi.JndiLoginInitialContextFactory");
    props.setProperty(Context.SECURITY_PRINCIPAL, "admin");
    props.setProperty(Context.SECURITY_CREDENTIALS, "admin");
    props.setProperty(Context.PROVIDER_URL, "jnp://192.168.10.130:1099/");
    Context ctx = new InitialContext(props);
    Object object = ctx.lookup( "ejb/com/blah/Manager/remote" );
              ManagerRemoteHome home = (ManagerRemoteHome)PortableRemoteObject.narrow ( object, ManagerRemoteHome.class);
              ManagerRemote manager = home.create();
    I get an exception at the following line
    ManagerRemoteHome home = (ManagerRemoteHome)PortableRemoteObject.narrow ( object, ManagerRemoteHome.class);

    Instead of deploying remotely on a different machine I deployed in on my instance of jboss and everything works ok.

    Thanks for your reply,
    I tried deploying it under local instance of jboss. It worked. However when I add the following line
    props.setProperty(Context.PROVIDER_URL, host);
    even if host is set to
    String host = "jnp://localhost:1099";
    I started getting the following exception
    2006-11-03 10:17:18,319 ERROR [STDERR] java.lang.ClassCastException
    2006-11-03 10:17:18,319 ERROR [STDERR]      at com.sun.corba.se.impl.javax.rmi.PortableRemoteObject.narrow(PortableRemoteObject.java:229)
    2006-11-03 10:17:18,319 ERROR [STDERR]      at javax.rmi.PortableRemoteObject.narrow(PortableRemoteObject.java:137)
    As soon as I uncomment that line everything works fine.
    I have seen this type of exception before when I tried invoking the ejb on a different computer as well. I am not sure how to see what is the wrapper class for the object since the call to object.getClass().getName() prints something like this $Proxy184
    This is my code again:
    Properties props = new Properties();
    props.setProperty(Context.INITIAL_CONTEXT_FACTORY,"org.jboss.security.jndi.JndiLoginInitialContextFactory");
              props.setProperty(Context.SECURITY_PRINCIPAL, "admin");
              props.setProperty(Context.SECURITY_CREDENTIALS, "admin");
              props.put(javax.naming.Context.URL_PKG_PREFIXES, "org.jboss.naming:org.jnp.interfaces");
              String host = "jnp://localhost:1099";
              props.setProperty(Context.PROVIDER_URL, host);
    ctx = new InitialContext( props );
         Object object = ctx.lookup( "ejb/com/blah/Manager" );
              ManagerRemoteHome home = (ManagerRemoteHome)PortableRemoteObject.narrow ( object, ManagerRemoteHome.class);
              ManagerRemote manager = home.create();
    Thanks
