Jawbone headset and MB Pro

Any tips for getting a solid connection between my MB Pro and my BT headset? It pairs OK, but then drops immediately (trying to use Skype 2.6.0.184).
TIA.

  • Problen Pairing Jawbone Headset and iPhone

Anyone having problems pairing Jawbone headset and iPhone? I get a paired status but then the device wheel keeps spinning .... The Jawbone thinks it's paired but the phone doesn't. I've tried like 30 times and got it to work one. The Jawbone worked fine with my Sony/Ericsson.
    Thanks!

So just wanted to post my approach to this problem. I love my jawbone. it has amazing sound quality. recently when apple sent out the software update to the iphone it wiped my iphone and required that i fully restore the settings from my computer. i did so but discovered that all of my bluetooth headset pairings had been deleted. i tried to restore it using the approach suggested in the support materials but received a constantly spinning wheel with the message "not discoverable." jawbone was recognized but said "not paired." jawbone kept timing out on the discovery sequence. finally i shut off the bluetooth function on my iphone and then turned off my jawbone device. i turned iphone back on and then activated the pairing function on the jawbone. on the iphone i exited the bluetooth menu (still spinning eternally). once i did that i activated my jawbone. on the iphone the menu to input the password came up. i input "0000". meanwhile back on the iphone bluetooth menu there was still endless spinning but now my jawbone was listed as "paired". exiting that i went to make a call to my vm and was gratified to see "audio" replace "speaker" in the upper righthand corner. hope this helps.

There is probably a red light on inside your headphone port, indicating that the analog/digital switch in there is stuck in the digital position. Insert a headphone plug and wigle it around, especially in the horizontal plane, as you insert and remove it several times. This will usually unstick the switch and restore normal operation. If it doesn't, the machine will need to be repaired.
This has been a fairly common problem, but in most cases it is easily cured as described above.

  • 7205 Intrigue and Voyager Pro bluetooth headset

I am having two issues with my 7205 and Plantronics Voyager Pro:
    1.  Occassionally I will be on a call using the BT headset, and I am unable to disconnect or enter any numbers (such as press 1 for English) at all.  The only way I can disconnect is through the headset disconnect button.  This happens rarely, but is difficult if I am trying to use a menu or enter a callback number.
    2.  The headset will disconnect from the phone if I am not on a call.  This happens 30 seconds after the end of a call.  If I reconnect the headset, it will still disconnect 30 seconds later unless I make a call.  This "behaviour" will continue for a few days.  Then it will begin to act normally, keeping the bluetooth connection whether I am on a call or not.  This will continue for a couple of weeks, then it will spontaneously start to disconnect 30 seconds after a call ends.
Verizon has replaced the phone, and Plantronics has replaced the headset
    Any ideas?

I should works since it supports the A2DP and AVRCP profiles which are also supported by the iPad. From the Plantronics site:
    Bluetooth Profiles Supported:
    Advanced Audio Distribution (A2DP)
    Audio/Video Remote Control (AVRCP)
    Hands-free v1.5 (HFP)
    Headset v1.1 (HSP)
    Secure Simple Pairing (SSP)

Hi! Im using a macbook Pro 17,5 and I´ll have one audio input and one mic input! But Im using only the audio input with my iphone 5 headset and using the mic from that headset!
Why does everyone else on my skype hearing me and what Im doing on my mac?

    Plz help me!

You should post in the Skype forums. However I would presume that Skype needs a WiFi network not a 3GS network to function.

  • Bluetooth headset for MacBook pro and iPhone

Is there a recommended Bluetooth headset I can pair with my iPhone and MacBook pro and do things like:
    iPhone:
    Take call
    Listening to music and podcasts
    MacBook Pro:
    Listening to music and podcast
    Skype calls
    Google Voice calls
    Face time
    YouTube
    Etc...
At the same time it would need at least 8 hours of talk and or play time battery.
Has somebody built such thing? If not we should do a kickstarter...
    Thank you for your recommendations

    Try to look at: http://www.jabra.com/
The ones compatible with the iPhone work with Skype too on a Mac, I don't know about other services.
    Bye

  • Any way to connect external mic (gaming headset) to macbook pro?

I just made the mistake of buying a gaming headset that has the two audio jacks, input and output. Realizing that Macs dont have the right audio input port now. Before I take them back, is there any way I could get them to work? The sound is fine, but the mic doesn't work obviously. But I do have a pair of wireless Turle Beaches that I use for my Xbox 360, is there anyway I could take some of the connections from that to get this headset to work? Or do I just need to take it back and get a USB headset.

Most MacBook Pros have both audio in and out, so I don't see any reason why you couldn't use the headset you just bought. I haven't seen any 2012 models, but on older models (my 2011, for instance) the audio out is in front and audio in on the rear of the front left-hand side of the computer. If you have these ports, try them to see if your headphone/mic works before returning it.
    Good luck,
    Clinton

  • My iphone 3G doesn't detect my JawBone headset!!

Hey everyone, hope someone can help me out!! I got my iphone 3g couple days ago, everything works great. But when i turn on the blueooth and try to connect it to my Jawbone headset, it is just showing searching, searching and nothing was being detected. Have anyone had this problem!! Thanks for the help!!!

    Folks..
There was a post similar to this, but was lacking something that worked for me specifically. From the Apple site http://us.jawbone.com/pairingguide.aspx the following will pair the Jawbone (original at least) to the Iphone. I had similar problems with not being able to pair until I came across this:
    Apple iPhone
_*Set the Jawbone to Pairing Mode._*
For the Original Jawbone, press and hold down the Noise Shield button for at least three seconds until the LED Indicator Light flashes red.
For the New Jawbone, press and hold down both the NoiseAssassin™ Button and the Talk Button for at least three seconds until the LED Indicator Light flashes red and white alternately.
From the iPhone Home screen, touch Settings.
    Touch General.
    Touch Bluetooth.
Turn Bluetooth on. (The iPhone will search for nearby Bluetooth devices.)
    Touch Jawbone on the list.
    Enter the PIN number "0000".
    Touch Connect.
The Jawbone should now be paired with the iPhone.
I hope this helps someone - it helped me.
Thanks to all who posted before me.

  • HDX 16 Headset and Mic problem in Vista64

    Good afternoon,
I have a long-standing problem with my e-dimensional AudioFX headset and my HP HDX 16, vista64 laptop. The issue is:
I cannot hear myself speak into the mic from my headset. ie. no sound is being sent from the mic back into the headset or external speakers. Everything else works just fine. My ventrilo partners can hear me and I can hear them. I just cannot hear myself.
When I plug the headset into my older Windows XP Pro machine, it works perfectly. I hear all ambient sound from the mic in my headset.
This is really difficult to work this way. I have tried disabling the AndreaElectronics microphone enhancements but this has not worked. I have tried adjusting the recording and playback properties many many times and many different ways but still can't get ambient sounds to feed back into the headset. I am reluctant to fool around with the IDT Audio drivers/services.
Can anyone offer some guidance/troubleshooting help? I'm totally out of ideas now.
    Regards,
    Starsider

    Update:
I think I have found the solution but it was for a similar problem on a Dell machine. Here is the link to that forum:
    http://forums.techarena.in/vista-hardware-devices/865259.htm
I think the solution involves enabling mic monitoring in the registry but I don't know exactly how to do it. If there are any registry experts reading this, I would greatly appreciate your help. I am reluctant to make any registry changes per the instructions in the link above since that was for a Dell computer and my registry is slightly different from the instructions given.
My exact model is the HP HDX 16 running Vista Home Premium 64-bit. Model number X-16 1155CA.

  • Bluetooth iPhone 4s and MacBook Pro connecting

I need some assistance with the connection between iPhone 4s (OS 6.0.1) and MacBook Pro (OSX 10.6.8). I paired the machines but I cannot connect them.

The Iphone is designed to only connect with wireless speakers, headsets, and keyboards through bluetooth. You are not able to pair the iphone with a mac through bluetooth. It is an unfortunate device limitation :/

  • Loss of tones on iphone following pairing to jawbone headset

    Hi all
Wonder if someone can help / any ideas etc.
I recently bought and paired the jawbone headset to my iphone. It works perfectly, no problems.
However since doing so, I have lost all the tones on my iphone, and when the bluetooth is turned off and someone calls it does not ring - just vibrates.
When typing a text the click sounds don't work and the unlock click doesn't sound when I unlock.
All the setting are correct on the iphone - i.e. all set to turned on, relevant ring music on etc.
Was working fine before this - but now gone??
Can't seem to find anyone else on the forum with this issue.
I've even tried inserting the earphone jack a few times to make sure that it doesn't think that's plugged in - but no joy??
Do I need to reset the phone??
    Cheers
    Jon

    Bump.
Exact same problem here with mine.
Posted my problems on another thread on the board here but like all here its useless in the car and my ear is hurting with having to push it so far in!
(saying that there is nothing between my ears to it might pop out the other side!)
Other than that i called Apple support and all they could suggest was update the phone to 1.1.4.
If that failed then go to an apple store and get them to test it and replace if it is not working.

  • Recording w/ a Steel Series USB headset on MacBook Pro 2012

I bought a MacBook Pro in Feb. of 2013 but am pretty sure its a 2012 model, there is no audio out head phone jack no hdmi and has a dvd drive in it to give you a idea of what model it is.

  • Jawbone headset to listen to iTunes on iPhone 4?

I have a Jawbone headset ("The Thinker") and I would like to be able to listen to music through the headset with iTunes on my iPhone 4 -- is this possible?

    Hi JAD255,
While earlier Jawbone headset (Prime, Jawbone 2, Jawbone Original) does not support the A2DP Bluetooth profile, if your phone transmits audio through the voice channel (SCO), you may be able to establish a Bluetooth connection between the Jawbone and your mobile phone and play your audio file.
If you try this and you are unable to hear your audio file, contact your mobile phone manufacturer support to determine how audio is transmitted.
Because of the wide range of devices used with Jawbone, we do not have step-by-step instructions for using our product to play music through your specific phone. You may find answers in discussion boards on the Internet or by consulting your mobile phone's instruction manual to see if music playback via Bluetooth is supported.
The Jawbone ICON supports A2DP by loading the software update from http://mytalk.jawbone.com/.  A2DP lets you listen to music, podcast and directions through your Jawbone ICON headset.
    Hope this helps!

  • Problem with Jawbone Headset

    Hi Everyone,
I purchased a Jawbone headset last week and at first attempt, worked great. I tried it out by calling my house number and I heard it crystal clear. Next morning I went to use it and my wife could not hear me at all. I could hear her perfectly. I looked at reviews and saw that the little speaker part had to be pushed against your cheek or it did not sense your voice. I made sure that it was flush against my cheek for the next call and it worked. However, it only worked that day. Since then, it has not worked and I have pushed it into my cheek, but still nothing....No matter what I do, the person I am calling cannot hear me. I can hear them perfectly.
Am I doing anything wrong or do I have a defective headset?
    Thanks,
    Scott

I had static on the Jawbone, I found a link in this thread
    http://discussions.apple.com/thread.jspa?threadID=1368303&tstart=15
that seemed to fix it. Here's the link:
    http://www.iphoneatlas.com/2008/01/17/fix-for-iphone-113-bluetooth-problems/
I used the last suggestion because it was the least invasive, and it worked for me. Here's the text of that solution:
+*Toggle Airplane mode*: Turn Bluetooth off, then navigate to Settings, then slide Airplane Mode to On, wait a few seconds, then slide it back to Off. It seems that discontinuing and restarting the EDGE and WiFi components in the iPhone can restore connectivity.+

  • Bluetooth not discovering jawbone headset

My new iphone will not discover my jawbone headset. It just searches with no response. The jawbone is on and does work cuz it worked with my treo, I even reset it.
    Any ideas?

Are you putting the Jawbone in pairing mode? Make sure it is turned on, (the white light flashing) then after you turn the bluetooth on your iPhone on, hold down the noise cancel button on the Jawbone, (the button behind the power button.) Your phone should ask for a pairing code, at that time enter 0000 then you'll be paired. Hope this helps.
