Jawbone Icon pair and connect to 4s but stopped working after 2 weeks.
The 4s shows the headset is connected and paired, but when a call is placed it does not show the bluetooth on the phone menu and does not send audio to the jawbbone. The jawbone also thinks it is connected and will give you a report of how much talk time is remaining. You can redial and answer by pressing the jawbone button, but the sound goes only through the phone and not through the jawbone. Setting the 4s to "forget" the headsets and then repairing them does not change the problem. Renaming the headsets and then re-pairing them does not fix the problem.
Finally, I tried what I should have tried first. I turned off the phone and turned it back on. Voila. I am posting this so people will be sure to try the easy solution first if you have this same problem.

I knew to check for lint stuck in the iPod and I had cleaned it out but figured "screw it" and gave it another try. Turns out I didn't go deep enough and there was still lint stuck in there. Got it all out now and it works perfect!

Wireless shows connected but stops working after a few hours?
Hi. I am having an issue with my linksys WRT160N v2 router. I have my desktop computer hardwired to my range extender (belkin E2S2400) which connects wirelessly to my router. The issue I am having is that after a few hours, especially if I am not on the computer, the wireless will stop working. Everything still shows connected and there is no evidence of a change except that anything I try to do (webpage, download, even the router itself) times out and says not available. It's as if the connection has somehow been put to sleep and is not being woken up.
This is despite having programs like bittorrent running in the background (seeding, not constant). I cannot find any settings to indicate sleeping or power issues or anything. If I reboot my range extender it works just fine. There is nothing on the range extender about going to sleep and it had no problem with my other router I was trying out. My other devices like my phone have no problem like this.
Any help is greatly appreciated!It would be best to check if the WRT160N v.2 router has the latest firmware installed especially if you experienced the problem on all of your wireless devices. If ever you have the latest firmware installed on your router please try to check on your current wireless security settings especially the wireless channel, you may set it to 1,6, 9 or 11.

CD-ROM and DVD drives recognised but not working after iTunes uninstall
I recently uninstalled iTunes. The CD-ROM and DVD drives are present on "My Computer" but will not recognise when a CD or DVD is inserted into the drive.
According the the Device Manager both are working propoerly. I already tried Update Driver, Roll Back Driver and Uninstall Driver but continue to have the problem.
Any ideas please?Has anyone found a solution to this? I'm running into the same problem. My DVD drive can read CD's but no DVDs at all. I tried all the suggestions like deleting the System Registers and loading new drivers/firmware, etc, and nothing. This all started after installing iTunes!

Both of my Shuffles seem charged but stop working after 20 seconds
Shuffle not working but it is charged...help!
One plays for 20 seconds and then does.
Does what? So (for that shuffle), after turning it off for at least 10 seconds, and then turning it back on, does it again play for 20 seconds before stopping? I'm asking because I want to know if it still has battery power after it goes off. If it has no power after the first 20 seconds, the battery may not be holding its charge. If it still has power to do it again, then it's something else (probably not the battery).
Me is 4the generation the other is 2nd.
So, the one that does the above is 4th gen?
The other says it is charged but never plays any music.
And this "other" one is the 2nd gen? You are not using the same docking cable used with the 4th gen, right? Because the connector is different. The USB cable for the 4th gen shuffle does not work with a 2nd gen shuffle. -
Bluetooth paired and connected, but not showing up in device list
I have a iphone 4s and a plantronics discovery 975. It was working fine, I don't recall doing any updates... But now, it's showing paired and connected, but when I make a call, it's not connecting and doesn't sho up in the the device options - only shows speaker. I already did the 'forget device' and re-paired it and it still won't work. If I press the call button twice on the bluetooth, it'll call the last number dialed, so I know there's some connection... I'm lost... Any help would be appreciated!
Oh! And here's another weird thing. My nephew was visiting yesterday, helping me move furniture and he asked could he get on my wifi. I opened the network lock and put the password in his phone myself and it never gave me a notification that he had connected. Later, my dad came over and when his phone connected to my wifi, it let me know that he had connected. Wonder what's different about these 3 devices (blu-ray, 2 iphones). None were listed in the network map before I allowed them to connect yesterday.

Should my iPhone 1 (iOS 3.1.3) with Bluetooth 2.0 (Handset HSP?) work with wireless earbuds with BT 4.0 and the Headset (and Handsfree, A2DP, AVRCP) protocol? They pair and connect as expected (with a PIN); status bar looks good and shows Bluetooth active, and I even see the iPhone displays the battery levels of the wireless earbuds. But audio always comes out the speaker. (If I plug in wired headphones into the headphone jack then audio comes into the wired headphones, as expected.) I have rebooted the iPhone; I have had it forget about the wireless earbuds, and repaired and reconnected; I have reset all network settings. Thx in advance.
PS: I understand that more recent versions of iOS have a way to choose where audio output goes (speaker, headphone jack, Bluetooth device). Does this older version of iOS? I could not find an option or setting.I've noticed this lately as well, with my iPhone 4. I couldn't confidently pin it directly on any particular iOS update, but my iPhone used to automatically connect up via Bluetooth with my Prius's handsfree feature, and now it doesn't. I work with a CE-based device at my job, with Bluetooth capability, and I used to test out that feature by having it discover my iPhone. This no longer works either.
What I have found (not really a solution, but it does work and may be a clue for Apple) is that if I simply go to the Settings app then the General -> Bluetooth screen and let it sit there, it will pair right up with my car within a few seconds. Bluetooth is always on, and always says "Now Discoverable" at the bottom of the settings screen. -
I cannot open iCal because of a problem. Can anybody help me? The computer will not allow it to open and sends a message to apple each time. The icon has gone from the dock, but ical works on my iPad and I am afraid to sync it with my computer in case it wipes everything .
I have the exact same problem. I have not changed anything. This is probably a bug or something that has gone bad with Mac OS X (10.7.2). I have not found any solution for this on the web.

My iPod is up to a 4.1 ios, and it won't update to a 5.1 which I need for some of my apps for school. It keeps saying that my internet connection is bad; but, it works just fine. What do I need to do?
If you get a network timeout error, then disabling the computer's security software duirng the download and update usually resovles that error.
If that is not the error what is the wording of the error message.
Note that only a 3G or 4G iPod can go to iOS 5. A 2G iPod can only go to iOS 4.2.1 -
ok my iphone 3g touch screen is not responding, i can recieve calls and it can charge and connect to itunes, but i cannot go any further than using the home button or the power button, it is only the slide feature and touch feature that has become non existent. Also, i have a f'ew cracks in my screen for a while now and it was running smoothly up until saturday when i sat on it applying large amounts of pressure to the phone screen. Is there a way i can fix this myself without having to recover my phone to factory settings or wasting 50 bucks to get it fixed??

WIFI stopped working after I woke the computer up, now says connected to the network but not the internet, all other coputers and devices connected still with no problems, have pinged IP address from router and got the message "4 packets sent none received"... Help
I have tried network diagnostics which doesnt help... The only other ting is, when I woke the computer up it said tat another device was using my IP... My wife had plugged her phone into the computer to charge etc but even when i turn wifi off on the phone there is no change... also in settings on the phone the IP address is different...The answer to your question is - neither!
Your PC should to configured to obtain an IP address automatically, and to obtain DNS server IP addresses automatically, from the Airport Express. This is the way Windows (and Macs for that matter) are configued by default, and that is the way most people have their computers set up. If you manually configured your PC's IP address to be the same as your wife's Mac, it certainly explains why your PC is not able to access the internet. -

In that case, you can configure the AirPort Express to "join" the wireless network that the Home Hub is providing and stream AirTunes from your computer to the Express over the wireless network.
Things will work just fine as long as the Express is located where it can receive a strong wireless signal from the Home Hub. -

When I attempt to pair my 6280 with my iPAQ h2200 I get an message "pairing and connection rejected for security reasons"
No problems pairing the 6280 with my PC or headsets, and no problems pairing my iPAQ with other devices or my Motorola A925 or A1000.
