Jawbone JAMBOX freezes iTunes on MBP - anyone find a fix?

Jambox will eventually pair successfully to my MacBookPro early 2011.  Connection can be intermittant, which can make pairing a chore, but the Jambox will work in MONO mode once it settles in, which can also require a reboot.  If I try to select STEREO mode from the BlueTooth settings in the taskbar, then iTunes crashes on launch, with error code 13014.
A free third party App which I downloaded from the App Store, MPlayerX, works correctly with the Jambox all day long.  So there's no hardware issue.
Anyone find a fix or have Apple fix this issue with iTunes?

Yes, others are seeing this. Something in purchased media (I am pretty sure this has only happened with purchased media) is periodically checking back with the iTunes Store and resetting the tags in the iTunes library file but not in the actual media files (metadata are stored in both).  I haven't seen a truly systematic diagnosis of the issue (I use an old iTunes and have no iTunes account so I can't test anything myself).  There are temporary workarounds but tags will still revert after a time.

Don't expect an immediate solution but maybe the next time they update the software it may be resolved.

  • Everytime I try to use my itunes it freezes... does anyone know a fix for this

    Please help

    Hi
I would download the free Onyx application (Google will find it) and go through its sequence of maintenance operations: Verify, Maintenance, and Cleaning.
When its finished all these steps, I'd then reset the SMC and PRAM:
    - Reset the PRAM: http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1379
    - Reset the SMC: http://support.apple.com/kb/HT3964

  • After dowloading the new OS software 5 I can't sync, I get a Pairing record missing" message  Anyone find a fix to this?

I updated to the new 5 software and now I can't sync my iPad2 to iTunes.  I get a error message of "pairing record is missing".  I tried restarting the iPad but nothing changed.  Can anyone help me solve this?

For your addressbook, export the files to vCard on the PowerMac, then bring them over to your Mac Pro. For your iPhoto, copy the Users -> yourname -> Pictures folder to your Desktop on the Mac Pro, and open iPhoto on the Mac Pro holding the command and option keys.  Select the library file from that Pictures folder and open it.  It should import all the pictures into iPhoto as part of the rebuild process.  Other PowerPC to Intel migration issues are covered here: https://discussions.apple.com/docs/DOC-2295

  • Can't delete old podcasts on Itunes 11.  Anyone have a fix?

Help!!!   I don't know what I was thinking about but I mindlessly updated my Itunes to the new Itunes 11 and HATE IT!!!!
My podcasts don't load correctly.  I have to choose each one individually to update whereas in the old Itunes I could just hit the refresh button and they would update.  And worse, I can't get rid of the ones I have already heard.
I have been reading some of the "fixes" but they are above my technical skill level.   Does anyone have a simple fix for the problems with podcasts?
Apple tech guys, please STOP mucking around with things that are working just fine and screwing them up.    You are making me go closer to dumping my Apple stuff and go back to Dell.

Since it´s a new phone, could have younger firmware problems. Do a bachup and a reset, should work, nut it´s an hard solution, but I don´t remember any more soft.

  • TS2776 After installing iTunes 11, we can no longer sync our iPhone and iPad devices with Outlook 2007 or 2010.  We are trying to install iTunes 10 to replace iTunes 11. Anyone have a fix for this?

Since installing itunes 11, we can no longer sync to our Outlook 2007 and 2010 calendars (there may be other Outlook files included in this syncing problem). Using the iCloud is not an option as it does not support Vista OS.  We are trying to reinstall iTunes 10.7, however; that is not going particularly well, either. Does anyone have a proven solution for this mess?

FYI: It seems it was a network problem with my WinXP PC. After complete deletion and new installation of XP and iTunes my iPhone will be recognized correctly, Wifi synchronization works (mostly) fine.

  • Yoga 13 Hotfix error -- anyone find a fix?

I keep trying to run the hotfix on my system to get a 100 gb C drive and a minimal D drive. No joy. I get this error
    "New File  131072    001.dat
    ERROR 32 (0x00000020) Copying File d:\System Volume Information\001.dat
The process cannot access the file because it is being used by another process.
    Waiting 30 seconds... Retrying..."
In other questions, Lenovo's advice runs the gamut from "reload the operating system" to "close all processes" neither of which is realistic.
Has anyone figured out a way to get this to actually run?

Had same problem try game without the crystalizer on. Stopped all the problem
for me must be a driver issue.

bug 278860: confusing "profile in use"/"already running" error when profile is missing (not found)
Apparently the profile .default is missing. Therefore the bug 278860 is activated and I can't start Firefox. Is there a solution?

I did some googling and found alot of topics from you on this issue, to me it simply seems like on of the connectors is broken or loose.

  • Sync freeze - Itunes 7.02

Have searched the forums and net - still haven't found a solution.
I have all my music and videos on an external hard drive - my podcasts on computer's hard drive.
Previously i was able to sync the updated podcasts to my ipod (5g 30gb), but after upgrading to 7.02, Itunes will start the sync and then freeze. Have to ctrl + alt delete to back out.
This 'freeze' also happens when simply plugging in my ipod when external hard drive is NOT connected.
When external is connected - no problems, but I don't want to be lugging around my external hard drive when I take my laptop on business trips - i just want to update and sync my podcasts as i did when I was using the previous itunes programs.
Any help or solutions to this problem would be greatly appreciated! Thanks
      Windows XP   IBM laptop

I'm having this problem too. I have a 40 GB I-Pod and when I upgraded to Itunes 7.02 it won't allow me to synch my iPod. It just locks up my whole computer and I have to reboot. I even uninstalled iTunes 7.02 and went back to the software that came with my iPod, but then I couldn't play anything that I had purchased from iTunes. If anyone has a fix out there, it would be greatly appreciated.

Hi. During the process of updating my ipad to IOS 6 utilizing iTunes, I received the error #1602. I tried the update procedure again, this time itunes does not recognize the devise. The pad is displaying USB connecter to iTunes. Can anyone recomend a fix?
    Thank you

There is only one fix now. The message on the screen means that you have to restore the iOS software on the iPad now. Read the part at the very end about using recovery mode.
iTunes: Restoring iOS software - Support - Apple
    About the error code.....
    Error 1600, 1601, 1602
Follow the steps listed above for Error 1604. This error may also be resolved by disabling, deactivating, or uninstalling third-party security, antivirus, and firewall software. See steps in this article for details on troubleshooting security software.
    If needed.....
    Additional Information
If your device is continually restarting, not responding, or showing the Apple logo with no progress bar or a stopped progress bar, place the device into recovery mode and try restoring again.

  • Late MBP 2010: Does anyone find that startup is slower and system runs slower?

I have a late Macbook Pro 2010 and once I downloaded the new OS X I've noticed that when I turn my MBP on at start up it is a lot slower and I have to wait 30-45 sec for it to get me to the main screen plus I've noticed my programs are running a little slower. Is anyone finding the same problem? Need help...how this is just a bug that can be fixed. Any ideas or fixes?

After upgrading from Snow Leopard, you may find that older, incompatible software may cause the sort of problems you describe.
Back up your documents and everything else important to you, not that there is any reason to believe your hard disk may be failing, but the symptoms you describe may presage an impending disk failure, and you should have backups anyway.
To help determine the possible causes of this behaviour read the following. None of what follows is intended to fix anything, but it will provide the additional information required to advance troubleshooting:
Boot OS X Recovery by holding ⌘ and r (two fingers) while you start your Mac. At the Mac OS X Utilities screen, select Disk Utility. Select your startup volume (usually named "Macintosh HD") and click the Repair Disk button. Describe any errors it reports in red.
When it finishes restart your Mac and test again for operation. If it's still not behaving as you expect it should, please post the results of EtreCheck in accordance with the following instructions:
Apple Support Communities contributor etresoft wrote a very useful app to quickly gather certain system information that may help point to a cause of this problem. Go to his website, download and run EtreCheck:
    http://www.etresoft.com/etrecheck
Etrecheck will be in your Downloads folder. Open it from there. You may see the following dialog box:
Click Open - etresoft contributes to this forum frequently and can be considered a trustworthy developer.
It will take a moment to run as it collects its data.
Copy and paste its output in a reply.
Do not be concerned about anything that says "Problem" or “failed” or anything else that may appear in red.
EtreCheck was designed to remove any personal information (such as your computer's name and serial numbers) but if you see anything that looks like an email address or any other personal information that should not be divulged to others, please delete or obscure that information when you post the reply.
When you are finished with EtreCheck, quit the program. It occupies very little space, and you can keep it or drag it to the Trash as you wish.
After completing the above please determine if the problems also occur in "Safe Mode":
Safe Mode or "Safe Boot" is a troubleshooting mode that bypasses all third party system extensions and loads only required system components. Read about it: Starting up in Safe Mode
Starting your Mac in Safe Mode will take longer than usual, graphics will not render smoothly, audio is disabled on some Macs, and some programs (iTunes for example) may not work at all.
Merely starting your Mac in Safe Mode is not intended to resolve the problem, it's to observe its performance without certain additional components.
To end Safe Mode restart your Mac normally. Shutdown will take longer as well.

  • Anyone finding it the mac completely freezes with the new lion software?

have just converted from PC and downloaded the new OS X Lion.. anyone finding it freezing quite frequently?

Try running disk utility on your hard drive to verify/repair also repair the permissions.

  • TS1538 I have gone through all troubleshooting steps and can't find a solution. My iPhone is no longer showing up in iTunes. Can anyone help?

I have gone through all of the troubleshooting steps and still do not see my iPhone 4 (6.1.3) when I connect with USB to iTunes. Can anyone help?

I'd try removing and then re-installing iTunes.  An uninstall will not remove your music etc.  That should re-install the usb drivers etc. I don't think you can separately delete and install the drivers.

  • ITunes on MBP keeps altering song information without my inputing any changes

It seems several people are having this problem, as far as I can tell from other blogs and discussion boards, but I have yet to find an answer that corrects the issue permanently. iTunes (v. 11.3 (54)) on my MBP mid-2012 13" (running OS X Mavericks, v. 10.9.4) model keeps changing the genre of my songs. I have, in the past, organized songs according to genres as I liked and have not had problems until about 3 months ago. I have tried several fixes but it I cannot find one that keeps iTunes from making the changes on its own without my input in the song information. All I have to do to change the song back is simply "play" it. When I do iTunes reverts the song's information back to where it should be and places it within that genre. Then the next time I reopen iTunes it has changed all the songs again. If anyone has a fix please post here or link me to one that has worked for you. This issue has also started to change some album and artist information. One fix I found that worked only temporarily (until I turned my MacBook back on) was going to Preferences >> Advanced and unchecking the "Keep iTunes Media folder organized." Worked for a day and then reverted back to the same problem.
