JBL Home Theater Mod# AEH50

Got a stupid question- like to get some info before I actually purchase. What I'd like to know is if I would need an amplifier hooked up between  some JBL AEH50 surround sound speakers and my TV, or can I hook straight to audio outputson the TV. The subwoofer is powered if that makes a difference. Little help, please? Thanks....

    Hi Guys
So... a while buy I purchased X-Fi Fatalty... and up until a while ago i've ran it on few creative speaker sets as well as klipsch... everything worked fine except the speakers "sucked" if you will.
so i upgraded my stuff to a
    -Denon AVR-706 amplifier
-Paradigm Cinema 70 home theater package (audiophile quality at low price!)
now... i connect these to my x-fi through analog inputs because we all know digital won't do real time encoding of 5. games. here comes the problem. i used to listen to my 2 channel music in audio creation mode where i CLONED 2 front speakers to my 2 rear speakers. this gave me my stereo x2 effect whithout the degrading quality of CMSS. well you see when you go amp/home theater speakers with x-fi's implementation of bass settings you NEED to have the bass redirection turned on as well as the +5Hz boost. The problem is that there is NO bass redirection settings in audio creation mode and there's no way that i know of to clone my fronts to rears in entertainment mode. i don't want cmss upmixing because i dont believe it's cloning... i believe it's upmixig regardless of the 2 modes selected. Does ANYONE know how to clone these whether at the driver level or through a plugin (i use WMP on Vista Ultimate x64 SP)?
the other thing is.... maybe it's my amp but in regards to local radio reception x-fi volume needs to be cranked WAY up (75%) on the PC side to match the level of other components in the setup... does this thing go into some sort of a low volume mode? I'm not pointing fingers here for this one but maybe you guys know something I dont
    anyways.... thanks in advance!

  • Connecting an ipod to a home theater system

I recently purchased a home theater system with a USB port claiming the system can play music files. When I connected my ipod to the system, all I got was the "do not disconnect" message on the ipod screen and no ability to play music. When making the same connection with a scandisk flash memory MP3 player, there was no issue with playing the music. I am curious as to why the ipod will not play through this connection? I know I can connect the ipod through the audio in port on the home theater system, but by using the USB connection, I was hoping not only to play the music, but also charge the ipod as well. In addition to why my ipod will not play in this home theater system (RCA), is there another type of home theater system out there that does have a USB connection for the ipod to play through?

  • Sony Home Theater System DAV-HDX275

I just bought a home theater system and I am wonder how to connect it to get the best sound out of it while watching blue ray movies or just plain old TV?  There is a HDMI outputy on the back and a digital inout on the back.  Whic one should I use and get th best results
    Thanks!!!

The DAV-BC50 appears to have only stereo analog input ( pair of L/R RCA jacks). You need a cable with a stereo miniplug on one end and 2 RCA jacks on the other. The soundcard should be set to 2-speaker mode. The DAV-BC50 does not have any way accept discrete multichannel from the soundcard nor to accept encoded AC3/DTS from the soundcard. You can use Dolby Prologic II to get all your speakers going, but you should not use processing when playing DirectSound3D games because it will dilute the intended 3D soundfield produced from 2 speakers.

  • Sony Blue Ray Home Theater

    Hi ,
I am having SONY Blue Ray Home Theater System. I have hooked up the spekers to TV  (Sony Bravia HD) as well. When ever I put Blue Ray or normal DVD or CD, properly sound is not coming to all speakers. I mean, no human dialogues coming into all speakers. But Speakers are working perfectly with TV. I am having problem only with  Blue Ray, DVD & CDs.
Is there anyway I can rectufy this?
    Please help me.
    Thanks,
    Girish

Try pressing the Sound Mode button on your remote the next time your playing a Blu-ray, DVD, or CD. You can press this button repeatedly until the sound is distributed correctly through your speakers. You may have to do this again to change the sound mode when you switch between watching/listening to TV, Blu-ray, DVD, or CD.
If the above doesn't work out, you could also try pressing the Audio button repeatedly until sound is distributed correctly for what you're watching or listening to.
Hope this helps and good luck!

  • LG - 1000W 5.1-Ch. Home Theater System with Upconvert DVD/CD Player

    I have a question about the LG - 1000W 5.1-Ch. Home Theater System with Upconvert DVD/CD Player. Model: LHT854 | SKU: 8713859.
I plan on purchasing this here soon. i was wondering how long the wires are to the satellite speakers.the front 2 and center will not matter cause they will be right by tv. but the rear speakers i plan on concealing through part of my wall. i need to know how long the wires are so i can make this possible. is there anybody that can help me? its not in the specs

Unfortunately I do not know for sure but usually they provide anywhere from 25ft or 50 Ft per speaker. My JBL system came with 50ft of wire. You should be able to splice additional cable from the front and center to make them long enough if they are not already or pickup some extra speaker wire.

  • Home Theater need. Multiple Audio Streams from 1 card or possible to use 2 car

I currently have 2 SB Li've's installed and a SB Audigy in the box.
I would like to be able to send different audio out to different devices. I need to send audio from a game interface called MAME 32 to a speaker system connected to the PC. I also use this PC as a home theater PC and want to send audio from my DVD playing software out to my TV(in analog stereo mode) and/or to my receiver(in Dolby Digital mode using the digital connector).
I would like to be able to run these seperatly without having to go into the Control Panel and switch the default sound card like I am doing now. I do not need to run them at the same time.

Bummer. Are you guys working on something that might have this capability? Seems to me that the closer we integrate PC's into our entertainment systems the more need we will have for the ability to do multiple audio streams, i.e. MP3's to the living room. DVD movie audio to the family room, XM radio classical station to the kitchen for mom etc..
Intel is offering this as an onboard solution that has the ability to do at least 2 different streams.

  • EA4500 for Streaming Home Theater

    Hi, my name is Ivan!
I have a home theater with the following equipaments in my apartament:
Room (all equipaments are wireless capable and I think they are all N compatilble):
    Panasonic VT60b 65" Plasma TV
    Receiver Onkyo TX-NR5010 + UMF-1 Wireless Adapter
    Apple TV
    WD TV Live
    Home Office:
    Desktop Computer
    I have a E2500 USB Wireless Adapter and a EA4500 Wireless Router.
I want to connect all this devices using EA4500 and/or E2500 to streaming video and audio content in all equipaments.
I want to stream MKV, MP4 1080p videos and FLAC, ALAC HI RES (24bits/192kHz) audio files.
I'm talking about files up to 250Mb (audios) and 8-46Gb (videos).
The speed of internet plan is the determinant so that I can watch these contents through my network factor?
I need a plan with internet speeds to make use of the wireless network "inside" of my house?
Or just that I'm connected at any speed that equipment (routers and adapters) will be independent of the contracted speed work?
How do I set up a network with this equipment to enjoy it as much as possible.
    Please help me
    Thank you
    Ivan

I recommend doing any local LAN side streaming using CAT6 wired LAN cable connections as much as possible. Your source files and the complexity of them will probably not work well over the wireless connections. I've done testing with RAW BD and DVD files and at most you need AC Wireless to stream HQ files, especially RAW files. DVD and Some HW files work ok on 5Ghz N mode however you may see some buffering if the data within the files is too high. Streaming from out side your network, i.e. netflix, youtube and such 2.4Ghz N or 5Ghz N should work well.
I would highly recommend getting a external Gb network LAN switch in between the main host router and all other devices. This will help limit any un-necessary router processing and allow better performance between inter connecting devices on the LAN site while doing any streaming from LAN side sources.
ISP modem>EA4500>Gb LAN wired swtich<>Connect all LAN supporting devices to the swtich as much as possible for best performance.
The USB WiFi adapter may work in some cases however you'll be limted to the speed of the USB and possibly introduct a bottle neck here which it's connection speed rates which are slower than the LAN wired GB connetions.

  • Help! Suddenly no sound from home theater speakers!

I bought a Sony KDL 46W5100 TV and the BDVE300 Home theater system at BB. I have always had these two hooked up directly to
each other with an HDMI cable and the digital optical cord. There are no other components involved.
We have always had surround sound to the HT speakers when the television speakers are set to 'audio system'
II am in NO WAY an audio/video expert, but I've had to mess with the settings here and there
after one of the kids reset something and I've always been
able to return the system to proper operation.
I am not sure what happened this time, but I cannot get the home theater speakers to give me any sound when in TV mode or
the BD/DVD mode. Theater mode does nothing for the sound either. I know the speakers are connected properly as they work during the 'test' and also when using the FM radio. I also know I am not on 'mute'
I do get video when playing a DVD or blu ray but no sound. I borrowed a BVD E770W, hooked it up and ended up with the same result.
This would lead me to believe that I have some rogue setting in my TV or maybe my HDMI cable is bad? I'm not sure about the
cable as I still have video through it.
I've re-read all my manuals, searched the forums online and I found nothing
Can anyone give me some advice here?
My family would greatly apperciate it

Try unplugging the power cord to TV and Surround receiver for 15-20 minutes. Plug back in and retry. If test tone & tuner have sound, your receiver is working. This will reset your data lines and hopefully restore operation. If not, and the DVD & TV sound hookup is coming thru the TV, the firmware in the TV may need to be updated found here:

  • Samsung DVD Home Theater HT-X50 "Made for iPod"

We purchased the Samsung Home Theater system because it had "Made for iPod" on the box and player. We couldn't get it to recognize the USB source, so I checked the manual. . when using dd li've pack to listen to audio through home theater, connecting spdif out on elite pro module to spdif in, i have only intermittent sound. there is no common timing, just sound on and off. as the sound comes on, on my computer i have the dolby digital li've bitstream out "bug" that comes on in the lower left hand corner of my screen, then goes away when sound off. i am listening in entertainment mode. i don't really know what else to say. does anyone else have this [email protected]

G? A lot of Audigy DDL users have reported 5. signal being lost randomly.
Mine cuts out and Dolby Digital Li've becomes plain PCM (stereo on the receiver). It only does it for a second, then 5. gets restored. Then a few seconds/minutes/hours later it happens again.
Sounds somewhat related to the X-Fi issues.... perhaps is the same thing?

  • Can't install Dolby Home Theater after upgrading to windows 10

HI, I have an Acer v3 572g.  I upgraded from win 8.1 to win 10. Everything is working fine except that the upgrading process completely removed the Dolby Home Theatre application and its drivers and automatically installed the Realtek high definition drivers, after I found out about it, I tried some tips I found online , this is what I did: Downloaded the audio drivers from the Acer website, uninstalled the default audio drivers then, I installed the acer drivers followed the installation process restarted my computer after that, I try to run the DolbyHomeTheater installer found in the PCEE4 folder but after I open the setup file it says: DHT cannot be installed. it doesn't explain why it cannot be installed whatsoever. I can't get this app installed no matter what I do, I've tried different things like installing and uninstalling multiple times, running the setup in compability mode... I don't know what to do now Any help will be very appreciated.

Hi! Thanks for your reply, I did exactly what you suggested but it didn't work for me. I'm able to install the audio drivers but when I try to run the Dolby Home Theater setup, it gives the same error "DHT cannot be installed" I now tried running the setup in troubleshoot compability mode it says: "Settings applied: Windows compability mode: Skip version check. Then, I click on test program but get the "DHT cannot be installed" error. After that, Windows compabilty troubleshoot asks me whether the problem is fixed or not, I click "no" then it says: "issues found: Incompatible program: DolbyHomeTheater is incompatible." But the odd thing is I'm able to install Dolby Advanced Audio v2 and not DHT v4,
I don't know if this is an issue with Windows 10 and Dolby, Acer or both are working on it or something went wrong during the upgrading process...

  • Desktop/Finder keeps rebooting after upgraded to Maverick (mac mini hooked up to a home theater system)

My desktop keeps rebooting ever since I upgraded to Mavericks.
Current setup, Mac Mini hooked up to home theater (Panasonic SC-HTB20) that is then hooked up to my Panasonic Plasma TV.
I usually leave my Mac Mini on running and at least once a day when I turn on the TV I can see that my desktop was rebooted. Firefox and Chrome will say that it wasn't shut down properly and if I want to restore my previous session. Also some times when I switched the input to watch TV and switch back, all my windows will be scattered out of place. For example Chrome will be in the top left hand corner to the point that it's almost minimized and I wouldn't be able to move it as well. Only thing I can do is close out these applications and relaunch them. It doesn't appear that the OS actually crashed, but more like the desktop/finder itself crashed. Cause once in a while I will switch back or turn on the TV and the screen will stay black for a few minutes then I'll see the cursor in the top right hand corner. After that I will start to see the desktop and my application start loading. It doesn't go through the regular process of rebooting where you see the Apple logo so I don't think the OS actually crashed but I could be wrong.
For some reason it seems like Maverick doesn't like the home theater system. An almost guarantee way to reproduce the issue is to wait for the home theater to turn off after it's been inactive for a while. If I turn it on the home theater to have the audio coming from it I will see the desktop goes black immediately then the whole desktop reboot process I mentioned above will kick in.
Never had any of these issues on 10.7 before I upgraded to Maverick.
Anybody have any suggestion? I really don't want to format and downgrade back to 10.7.
    Thanks

    Sounds like a kernel panic.

  • How to Connect My Apple TV to My Panasonic SC-PT760 Home Theater

    Hello;
I currently use the Panasonic SC-PT760 as the Home Theater DVD Player which only has 1 HMDI output and connects directly to the HD TV, also I have the Direct TV connected to the Home Theather via AUX.
I am wondering how should I connect my apple TV, if I would like to connect ut via HMDI. Is a HMDI switch an option or what should I do ?
    Please advise.

You can purchase HDMI switches but don't expect them to work perfectly in _every_ configuration. What I mean is that your mileage may vary, it may work, or it may not. However, chances are good that it will but I'd make certain that you can return the HDMI switch if it doesn't work correctly when paired with you DVD player and the Apple TV and your HDTV.
By the way, does your TV have component inputs? If so you can use the Apple TV's component outputs to get HD but then you'll have to route the audio from the Apple TV either over standard RCA stereo plugs or via the digital audio optical connection on the Apple TV (assuming again that your HDTV has optical audio inputs, but I see that you receiver has an optical input so that should work too).
