Jca Activation Agent error

Hi,
I am trying to deploy a process to the BPEL server which uses a FTPAdapter to get a file from a server, and bring it into the BPEL process. I have defined my "eis" entry in the oc4j-ra.xml file in the application-deployments/default/FtpAdapter folder. I have restarted the server after this configuration change. The process deploys from Designer without giving any errors in Designer, but when I view the deployed process in PM, it is flagged with an error. The error message it gives is:

Could not initialize activation agent
Exception Description:
BPEL container could not initialize activation agent class "oracle.tip.adapter.fw.agent.jca.JCAActivationAgent". The reason is Unable to obtain Locator handle. The Adapter Framework Message Listener was unable to obtain BPEL Process Locator handle: Authentication failed. Failed to authenticate credentials. Please examine the log file to determine the problem. .
Suggested Fix:
Please ensure that the activation class "oracle.tip.adapter.fw.agent.jca.JCAActivationAgent" is configured correctly in the bpel deployment descriptor (bpel.xml).

Just to clarify:
The Oracle Workflow Java Function Activity Agent is supported by Oracle for the Database and Application Server releases. It was not certified for Oracle E-Business Suite customers, as we thought it better to focus our efforts on the Oracle Workflow J2EE Engine. In the next standalone releases, we will be provinding better system management for the Java Function Activity Agent, on demand processes, that sort of thing.
We did a lot of work to make sure that messages do not get lost ie. if an unexpected error is encountered, the transaction will get rolled back and the message will go back on the queue. If you are finding messages get lost, there are 2 possibilities: a bug in your code (ie. the transaction was committed in your code, so roll back would not help), or a bug in our code (a reproducible test case would be helpful).

Error attempting to instantiate the activation agent class "oracle.tip.adap

I am trying to run the JMS and AQ tutorials and experiencing class problems. The BPEL process I am looking at is Queue2Topic.
When I go to the BPEL console, I have a yellow exclamation mark against the process Queue2Topic, and when I click on the process receive the following error message :-
Exception Name:
Error while creating activation job
Exception Description:
An error occurred while attempting to instantiate the activation agent class "oracle.tip.adapter.fw.agent.jca.JCAActivationAgent". The exception reported was: "javax/resource/spi/work/WorkManager".
Suggested Fix:
Please fix the error and redeploy the class to the server.

Solution was to copy

to

TNS Connect String Error When Starting Workflow Activity Agent Listener

I'm trying to start the Workflow 2.6.0 Activity Agent on Windows 2000 but it Unable to connect to 'TNS_connect_string' although the normal Connect to db using SQL*Plus as user/password@alias works.

Unable to connect to activation agent

Hi..I am using soa suite 10.1.3.1.0 and oracle data base 10g. I am practicing the ADT example in AQ adapter tutorial came with 10.1.3.1 installation
The purpose of this tutoril is to dequeue the message from customer_in_queue and to enqueue to the table customer_out_queue in Scott database.
I changed the oc4j-ra.xml file in the path
C:\product\10.1.3.1\OracleAS_2\j2ee\oc4j_soa\application-deployments\default\AqAdapter
and added the few configuration lines given in tutorial to data-sources.xml file in the path

Sorry I also forgot to mention that you need to check your databse and AQ connection pools.
Login to Enterprise Manager
home -> administration -> jdbc resources -> data sources
make sure there is a an entry for your scott database. Make sure you take note of the jdbc name.
Now you need to check the AQ connection pool. This is found
home -> Then I think there is a drop down list for resource adapters. Choose this -> AQ Adapter
create a new entry something like
eis/AQ/xxxx
point to the database data source created above.
Now you need to make sure that in your AQ partner link that it is pointing to the connection pool made above.

Problem calling a EJB Java Client from Java Activity Agent

We have a wrapper java class that calls to an EJB through a JNDI lookup. The wrapper class is called from a workflow. The problem is that the call fail with the following message error:

The wrapper class has in their classpath a jndi.properties as follows:

The call just works fine when we restart the Java Activity Agent and then, after a while it fails again with the same error.

I have a situation that is a bit similar. I have successfully used beans for storing methods used in JSPs and used by other methods in the same class as was suggested above. Now I would like to break some methods into another (utility) class since they are lower level and can be used by lots of things. They are for database operations (given a String query and String dbname, it queries and returns ResultSet for example). I want to have them in a separate class for reusability and OOP.
I am having problems calling those public static methods in the public class from my bean that communicates with the JSP. I can't compile the class that calls the method in the database ops class. I get an error like :
loginHelper.java:45: cannot find symbol
symbol : variable sqlHelper
location: class dbHelperBean.loginHelper
and when I include the package name in the call I get
loginHelper.java:45: cannot find symbol
symbol : class sqlHelper
location: package dbHelperBean
That's strange since the package of both classes is dbHelperBean and the class is indeed called sqlHelper. I tried to compile it in the same directory as sqlHelper as well. What am I doing wrong?

I am using a File Sender Adapter and Receiver Adapter .
It is Successfully picked up the File but nothing is happening after that .
I am using two receiver Determination one from Ob to IP and other from IP to FIleReceiver ( IB) .
But, I am Getting error as Block1 (No agent) Error in the PE graphical diagram
I have checked in SWWL my Integration Process Return code is "0"

1. Block with Deadlkine branch and Exception handler( as TimeOut Exception)
Block Start and Block End as New Transaction
2. Inside Block infinite Loop which contains Receive step ( Actives the Correlation ) and Multiline Container element which appends the Messages with CollectMessage
3. Transformation Step
It creates the New Transaction and Interface Maping from CollectMessage List to New Mesage
4. Send Step
               It sends the New Message . It creates the New Transaction .

TimestampOffset in FTP Adapter activation agent properties

I am having an issue using the "timestampOffset" FTP Adapter activation agent property on an SOA Suite 10.1.3.4/MLR#9 (Linux) system.
I have a BPEL process that is being launched via the FTP Adapter when a particular file appears on a remote SFTP server. I am polling for this file every 5 mins, and don't want to retrieve it unless it is at least 15 minutes old. The SFTP server from which I am retrieving this file is configured with a different timezone than the SOA Suite server on which the BPEL process is running; the SOA Suite server has a timezone of MST (GMT-7) and the SFTP server has a timezone of GMT. When deploying this BPEL project to the server, it shows the "timestampOffset" property for the JCA adapter in the log, as follows:

However, this setting appears to have no effect, as when the adapter polls for the file, it finds it, but does not process it. I have turned up logging on default.collaxa.cube.activation to DEBUG, and I see the following when it polls for the file:

What needs to be done to have the timestampOffset property in bpel.xml honored by the activation agent? Any help is greatly appreciated! I have opened up an SR with Oracle on this as well, but sometimes the forums prove to be a quicker path to problem resolution. :)

Can you elaborate? The last part of section A.3.3. in the URL you posted is exactly what I did...I specified the "timestampOffset" property to the activation agent properties in bpel.xml. I specified the offset as the time difference (in milliseconds): 7 hrs = 7*60*60*1000 = 25200000. The value they provide in that example is puzzling: 2592000000 would be an offset of 720 hours! Maybe I'm misunderstanding something about this property?

Oracle Workflow Java Activity Agent not starting up

Hi,
I am trying to start the Java Activity agent of Oracle workflow.
As specified in the installation and setup guid I am running the following script (for NT):
wfjvlsnr user/password@connectString
The activiy agent does start up but then I get a NullPointerException in the main thread of the Java Activity Agent class.

Manual enabling and disabling of activation agent in active-active topology

For Active-Active Topology for Adapters we can deploy and run Oracle BPEL Process Manager and business processes on all nodes but only one adapter service is running at any given time. In case of failover we need to manually disable the Activation Agent on the failed node & enable the activation agent on another node.
One customer has the below queries. Could anyone help.
a)Is there any way to automate the process of enabling and disabling of activation agent in active active topology ie failover is auto-detected and enabling & disabling happens automatically?
b)What is the suggested clustering topology for BPEL from oracle

Customer tried the configuration given in the doc http://download-west.oracle.com/docs/cd/B31017_01/integrate.1013/b31005/life_cycle.htm#CIABHCFE
But after applying the changes they are getting the following error message: "Invalid activation parameter.Activation parameter Physical/Logical Directory has invalid value. Check the error stack and fix the cause of the error."
1. Why this error coming?
2. Also the doc said If the BPEL PM servers (JVMs) in the cluster are located across TCP/IP subnet boundaries, then it is necessary to add the attribute clusterAcrossSubnet=true. Can I have more details on parameter "clusterAcrossSubnet=true" (with an example preferred)

ORABPEL-09903: Could not initialize activation agent

Hi,
I have installed SOA suite 10.1.3.1.0
I am trying to deploy a BPEL process which does a Dequeue operation using Oracle AQ adapter. The deployment is giving me following error.

C:\SampleWS\BPELApplication\SubscribeOrderForOracle\build.xml:79: A problem occured while connecting to server "10.48.233.135" using port "8888": bpel_SubscribeOrderForOracle_1.0.jar failed to deploy. Exception message is: ORABPEL-09903
Could not initialize activation agent.
An error occured while initializing an activation agent for process "SubscribeOrderForOracle", revision "1.0".
Has any one came across this error. I tried reading through few topics in this forum related to this error but could not get any resolution.
Any help is appreciated.

Well I have recently installed SOA suite 10.1.3.1 release-3. Earlier I was working on 10.1.2.1.0 PM server and looks like there are lots of changes that have happened in the new release.
On the newly installed SOA suite I created a BPEL process (EnqueueOrder) and instructed in the Reference guide and I was able to queue a message to Oracle AQ on Oracle 9i database.
For dequeing I created another empty BPEL process (DequeueOrder) and instantiated the process with a Receive activity which inturn dequeus message from the above said queue and writes the message to a file using File Adapter.
I was trying to deploy DequeueOrder process and few a times it got deployed successfully but on testing it from the BPEL Console the receive activity was not responding with any message. It only showed a message saying "Received "Receive_1_Dequeue_InputVariable" call from partner "SiebelOrderSubscriber"" on the BPEL console.
Now again it has started giving the same error while deployment, saying ORABPEL-09903: Could not initialize activation agent. Anu clues.....?
I have one more question....Do I need to create a seperate jndi and DataSource in oc4j to point to my local 9i database and refer it in the AQ Adapter configuration wizard?

Java Function Activity Agent not starting

Hi,
I am facing some problem in starting Java Function Activity Agent on Windows XP.
I hav modified WF_CLASSPATH of wfjavlsnr.bat script to include classes12.jar, ojdbc14.jar & my custom jar files.
But when I run this script from command prompt using following syntax
wfjvlsnr.bat owf_mgr/password@host:portid:sid or

Activation agent trouble

When i am deploying bpel process which connect to SybaseDb i have
An error occured while initializing an activation agent for process "Test", revision "1.0".
Please ensure that the activation agents are configured correctly in the bpel deployment descriptor (bpel.xml).
Once this problem was solved editing adpter.wsdl
mcf.PlatformClassName="oracle.toplink.platform.database.DatabasePlatform"
changed to
mcf.PlatformClassName="oracle.toplink.platform.database.SybasePlatform"
Everything works well, but now i have the same problem and this trick doesn't help

I would turn on logging to a higher level:
Configuration->Logging-->domain.collaxa.cube.activation
and see the domain.log for the cause of the error.
You should see a line - shutting off Activation Agent or something like that. It will give you a direction, or at least some more information to log an SR.
