JCAPS 5.1.X and EDIFACT OTDs

Is it possible to install UN/EDIFACT OTDs into JCAPS 5.1.X? I've installed JCAPS 5.1.2 (JCAPS) from JES 2007Q2 DVD, but the EDIFACT OTDs are on another DVD with eXchange Integrator. The installer on this DVD installs ICAN 5.0.5 and I can install desired OTDs into its repository (ICAN).
I just need the OTDs, but the JCAPS won't allow me to install it. I've tried to add the OTDs to its Products.xml in ProductList, but when I try to upload them to the repository, it produces this error:
Error Encountered While Uploading
UN_EDIFACT_OTD_Lib_v4_D01A.sar has been tampered with or it was not produced by an authorized entity.
Is it possible to install the OTDs somehow or is there another installation that will install JCAPS 5.1.X with the EDIFACT OTDs? I don't want to use the ICAN 5.0.5, because I have already installed JCAPS 5.1.2 and there is no LogicalHost for Windows plaftorm in ICAN 5.0.5 (?)

You should not install ICAN functionality in CAPS. It simply would not work and tampering with the install XML files won't improve the situation.
There are two ways you can go. One is simpler than the other:
1. Become a Champions member by contacting your Sun representative. Sun might even decide to give you the Beta CAPS Edifact OTDs without your becoming a Champions member, but chances are very slim.I think I'll try that. Thanks.
>
2. Install ICAN from your DVD, including eXchange and the EDIFACT release(s) and message(s) you want. Export the corresponding .SEF file(s) for the relevant messages to the file system. Install the CAPS B2B 5.1.0 release, which can be acquired from Sun. Create the relevant CAPS OTDs using the SEF Wizard that comes with CAPS B2B 5.1.0. As long as all you want is OTDs and you are not interested in Protocol Managers this will work.
Note that you will not be able to import ICAN projects into CAPS making use of ICAN EDIFACT OTDs, since the project path for these OTDs in ICAN is based on the SeeBeyond project, where you will not be allowed to place your newly created SEF Wizard EDIFACT OTDs in CAPS. However you will be able create EDIFACT integrations and the SEF files are supported, as is the CAPS B2B 5.1.0 SEF Wizard.
IMHO it might be a better idea to take the SEF files from a recent EDIFACT ESR for ICAN instead (like esr96403.zip). In this case you don't even have to install ICAN to extract the associated .SEF file(s) since they can be extracted directly from the relevant .sar file, which you can open using your favorite .zip application. This would give you a more recent level of the .sef files and save you the effort of installing ICAN and eXchange.Thanks a LOT! This sounds like a very easy way to get what I need. I just need to extract data from an Edifact document, trasnform it to XML and based on its content choose a destination to send it to.
Where can I get the EDIFACT ESR for ICAN? I was looking for it for a while without luck. But I will keep searching :)

    Any help is appreciated

    Hi Yermek.
    I guess you are placed and set all jars relates to bapi/rfc.
    You need to pass atleast one parameter from jcd which will initiates the BAPI connection.
    i.e atleast from jcd you need to send a request.
    Hope it will work...

  • Bridge between JCAPS 5.1.3 and JCAPS6 using STC JMS

    Hi
    Would be glad if someone could help me configure Glassfish (that we use developing applications in JCAPS6) to use STC JMS. Do not really know how to setup the JMS Resources to access the message servers that we have configured in JCAPS 5.1.3. I try to use connectionURL property but glassfish does not like it, I get a warning in the log "The method setConnectionURL is not present in the class : com.sun.messaging.jms.ra.ManagedConnection"
    Br

    hi faldo,
    which connection url have you tried?
    are you talking about repository based projects?
    we are doing this by adding a"Unified JMS Ressource"server to the "Caps 6 environment" (bridge to STCMS ICAN 505)
    and pointing this ressource to "stcms://somehost:8888"

  • XI 3 and EDIFACT

    Hi there,
    we think about using the XI for converting EDIFACT messages. More precisely we have to be able to receive INVOIC and REMADV messages (version D.99A) and to transform them into our inhouse text formats on the one hand and on the other hand to transform inhouse text messages into the INVOIC and REMADV format.
    Can someone tell me if the schemas of these EDIFACT message types are already included within the XI or if there is any product (like the Covast EDI Accelerator for the Ms BizTalk server) which allows the XI to handle these EDIFACT message types?
    Every help is appreciated.
    Greetings,
    Florian

    Hi,
    >>>>I think the option of using the Seeburger EDI Adapter fits best because (if I got it right) we don't have to do the EDIFACT-to-XML mappings by ourselves.
    as I said also business connector can do it for you
    (it's free for SAP customers but you need to check
    the licence model too)
    and also my second help (mapping tools)
    can do the same (as they do edifact - xml ) for you
    (in the xi with xslt or java) but you need to check it
    if it fits your needs
    >>>Can anybody tell me something about the licensing modell of the Seeburger EDI Adapter?
    you can call any SAP sales offica and I believe
    they should provide you with all details
    if not contact seeburger directly

    We need to establish B2B scenario in PI 7.0
    IDOC to EDIFACT and EDIFACT to IDOC.
    Please let me know the solution without using any third party adapter like seeburger.
    Any example scenario of the same case will be helpful

    Hi ,
    If you are decided to not using SeeBurger then its difficult to implement B2B Scenario
    Your requirement IDOC 2 EDIFACT or Vice VERSA, you have to do more analyzation about EDIFACT.
    You can acheive using Adapter module, you have to about EJB's stuff to write Adapter module to support EDIFACT Message, Search for info about Adapter Module in SDN you wil find some lot off stuff about Adapter MODULE.
    then coming to mapping its really challenging to do Mapping between IDOC TO EDIFACT.
    You have to alalyze the EDIFACT Structure .
    I implemented B2B scebario in my project SeeBurger.

  • XSD OTD compilefailure String literal not properly closed by double-quote

    Java CAPS 5.1.3
    I have created a XSD to describe a simple XML file. After this I created an OTD from the exported XSD file.
    This OTD is being used in a JCD. During the build of the Deployment Profile I get the error: :Compile failed: xsd.XSD_MB235401907.X_all_B: Line 69: String literal is not properly closed by a double-quote

    I have verified the XSD file with netbeans and can not see a problem with the file itself.
    Any ideas to resolve this compile failure?

    I'd suggest importing the xsd into the jcaps xml schema editor and verifying that way and then creating the otd by node export.

  • Is there any Possibility of extending or importing a jcd in JCAPS.

    Hi,
    I am using JCAPS 512. Please let me know is there any possibility to
    reuse a jcd by extending or importing it.
    Please let me know in which location the classes created in edesigner will be stored in system.
    Regards
    Venkatesh.S

    Using JCAPS 5.1.3 on several large projects and JCD's extensibility is my biggest gripe. I'm a Java developer accustomed to code freely. Actually, wanted to extend and reuse OTDs as well, guess SeeBeyond markets it like a "Visual Basic" tool for integration. They should have learned from Delphi how to do it better.
    Anyway, the JCD are J2EE Stateless Session Beans under the covers, the code you write with eDesigner (NetBeans 3) goes through a "codegen" process. That is, you are not writing the Session Bean directly, consequently, the classic limitations with interpreted code.
    However, the next JCAPS version with NetBeans Open ESB will make developers happy by allowing normal Java development.

  • Unmarshal fails with OTD Tester

    Sorry to bother you again with another JCAPS-question, but I would like to know how to troubleshoot these kind of error messages. I tried to test my deployment dpData_Conversion_for_IP but it failed with an unmarshal error..now I have seen this error before and I know that other folks fixed it for me the last couple of times, but I'd like to learn on how to address an issue like this.
    When I ran the otdtester I receive an error message like:
    There was an error during unmarshal.
    "...00100001\r\n"<POS>"L113218807..." failed input match, after RecordGroup[1]: left over 3086 bytes at end of data
    When I enable Verbose Mode I get the following detailed output (see attachment) which basically tells me at te end that there are so many bytes of data left that could not be matched. Does it mean that my file I present to unmarshal contains more data than I told it to expect? How would you normally fix an issue like this? I looked at the source file and the otd and the field lengths do add up: the header ends at position 163 and the line items at position 125
    Do the line item lines need to be adjusted (the number of times they repeat?)
    My custom input otd used to work fine until last week then I made some changes to the EDI-mapping, but I didn't alter the field length, or the number of fields, so then it should not have any effect.
    Below you will find the output in Verbose Mode:

    Hey, I got some help from the open-esb users forum. See below.
    Mike,
    After modifying the xsd (adding match, removing scavenger, moving delimiter
    level to the top, removing 2 FILLER2 fields, etc.) and modifying the data a
    bit (padding spaces to each detail record to a total 392 bytes excluding
    CR&LF), I am able to parse the data. Please refer to the attached zip
    including input, xsd, output XML, and parse log.
    Any further questions, please let me know.
    Thanks!

    Mike,
    There are a number of problems I have found so far as I start looking into
    the provided xsd meta and input data:
    (1) The header element is also delimited by CR&LF. I see you have put
    delimiters for the detail and trailer elements, but the header element
    misses to be delimited.
    (2) CR&LF can be expressed as "\r\n" or "\x0D\x0A", but not "\n\r". I see
    you have "\n\r" in your xsd file which is wrong.
    (3) You said header record has 82 bytes, detail has 382 bytes and trailer
    has 91 bytes. But I've found a few mismatches:
    In your input data file, the header record has 80 bytes + CR+LF = 82
    bytes, but your xsd meta definition gives header total byte count of 81
    (without CR+LF), which mismatches the expected 82 bytes. You'll need to
    correct this in order for the parsing to work. (For me, I have to remove the
    "filler2" field in order to get the header parsed.)
    In your input data file, each detail record has 350+CR+LF = 352 bytes,
    which contradicts the expected 382 bytes. I haven't added up the total bytes
    in your xsd meta file, but I suspect they have mismatches.
    Similar mismatch may also exist for the detail record, but I haven't got
    chance to sum the total.
    (4) The header, detail and trailer records all have first byte ("H", "D" or
    "T") as record type. You must specify the "RECORD_TYPE" field to match the
    character "H", "D" or "T", respectively by putting the character in the
    "Match" field and selecting "Alignment" to "exact", meaning exact match.
    I see these characters were mistakenly put in the scavenger fields
    instead. Please correct this.
    After you modify your xsd meta encoding information based on above, you
    should be able to parse the input data.
    Let me know if there are any questions,

    Subject: Custom Encoders Questions
    I am trying to create a customer encoder for a batch file
    consistes of a header record of 82 bytes, several detail records of 382
    bytes and one trailer record of 91 bytes

    It seems to not like having multiple record formats and dies after reading

    it picks up the different formats.

  • Handing over the payload from BatchFTP eWay to custom OTD possible?

    Hi there,
    As I have been building a JCAPS interface I have a design question that nobody has been able to answer:
    I intend to use BatchFTP eWay to connect to a third-party FTP-server and get a file. Now I want the BatchFTP eWay to hand off the data file to a custom OTD which needs to unmarshall the data. I looked at various examples but only found an example of BatchFTP eWay to BatchLocal (copy payload to payload) but nothing else. So my question is: how do I get my standard BatchFTP eWay adapter to handover the data or payload to my custom OTD ?
    I can create a jcd to get the file from the external system and write it off to a local file on the JCAPS-box, but can one JCD then trigger another JCD which takes in the newly created local file and then calls my custom OTD to unmarshall the data? Maybe that is the way things should be done?
    Thanks for your advice,
    Richard

    Sorry, I sent you down the wrong path a little:
    try{
         //BatchFTP_Incoming is my batchFTp OTD
         BatchFTP_Incoming.getConfiguration().setTargetFileName( fileName ); //can be set in the batchftp settings page
         BatchFTP_Incoming.getClient().get();
         //Copy the FTP GetPayload to a variable
         String payload = new String( BatchFTP_Incoming.getClient().getPayload() );
         try{
              otdInput.unmarshallFromString(payload);
         }catch(Exception e){
              //unmarshall exception can happen here
    }catch(Exception e){
         //Error getting the file
    }There are many unmarshall methods (unmarshallFromXML, unmarshallFromBytes, etc.). JCAPS 5.1.3 and JCAPS 6 both have an intellisense if you hit ctrl+space on an object.
    One "gotcha" of the BatchFTP is the target filename and the target location must have some value set in the collaboration map. I set them to "[set in jcd]" and then just write over them using code:
    inFTP.getConfiguration().getPostTransfer().setPostTransferCommand( "DELETE" );
    inFTP.getConfiguration().setTargetDirectoryName( "/apps/caps/pickup/ljs" );
    inFTP.getConfiguration().getTargetLocation().setTargetDirectoryNameIsPattern( false );
    inFTP.getConfiguration().setTargetFileNameIsPattern( false );
    inFTP.getConfiguration().setTargetFileName("testFile.txt");Post if you have any more Q's,

  • Need assistance invoking a Web Service from JCaps 5.1.2.

    Hello,
    I am working with web services for the first time ever, and am having some trouble invoking one from with JCaps 5.1.2. Basically, the business process is validating fine, and will run up to the Invoke procedure, at which time it throws a log file error:
    HTTP Status-Code 404: Not Found - /wsTestInvoke and the associated fault container is not available.
    However, I have already tested this same wsdl in SoapUI, from the same server which is running the domain. SoapUI runs this wsdl without any errors.
    As stated, this is the first time I have ever tried to use web services. Im at a loss right now as to what steps to take to even try to debug this. My guess is that something in the JCaps setup needs updated, but Im not sure what, or where to begin looking.
    FYI, I have created a web service that I am hosting, and it can be invoked fine from SoapUI. My SoapHTTP Client and Server are both configured the same right now, and I know at least the Server is working, since I can host a WS. I just can't seem to invoke one.
    Has anyone seen this error when working with Web Services in JCaps 5.1.2, and any ideas of where to look to start debugging this?
    Any info is appreciated.
    Thanks,
    Alan

    I figured this out myself, and just want to post the resolution in case anyone else runs into this.
    This issue was that I was setting the port and server in the HTTP Client External System config, to be the JCaps domain server and HTTP port. I found that you need to leave the external system properties blank in the HTTP Client, and when you build the code, the environment items then get auto-populated from the wsdl.
    Problem solved.

  • Implementing Multiple operations in a web service in JCAPS 5.1.3

    Hi,
    I am using JCAPS 5.1.3 and have a requirement where in I have to implement multiple operations and expose them as a webservice.
    The complexity of operations is medium, they have to log the input message into database.
    In order to achieve this I have come up with two models:
    Model-1:1.Create a Business process in eInsight and use event based decisons and implement various operations.
    2.Create jcd operations in order to log messages into database.
    3.Expose the business process as a webservice
    Model-2:1.Create a jcd for each operation and make it Callable as an External SOAP web service.
    2.Expose each jcd as a webservice
    I would like to know which of these models gives better performance for the webservice .I see eInsight in earlier versions was low in performance.
    Please let me know if you have any ideas on this.
    Thanks in advance.

    I'd try the idea #1 first. EInsight performances could be an issue only for very CPU-intensive operations, but as you need to interact with a database usually this I/O is going to be the real bottleneck. Instead, you should avoid eInsight not mainly because of hypothetical performance issues but when you foresee the need to write very complex logic, which is much easier to code and maintain in Java within JCDs than in BPEL. However remember that JCDs exposed as WS need the latest ESR Rollup to work properly, if I well recall they were single-threaded in plain JCAPS 5.1.3.
    By the way, if your WSDL describes multiple operations you could probably implement them one by one by distinct eInsight BPs if you need to distribute them differently, you are not forced to use a single BP with event-based decisions, it is a matter of your taste and requirements. In my experience however in the past I had some annoying issues with WSDL exposing multiple operations and eInsight, hopefully those are gone with the latest Rollup but do some quick test yourself before betting all your money on it.

  • Need help in creating JCD in JCAPS 5.1.1

    Hi,
    While creating JCD , If we choose existing implementation of webservice option, then as a second step of it, we need to select an existing webservice operation to implement.
    For e.g if i am going to read from file i will select Fileclient->receive as
    webservice operation to implement.
    Similarly my requirement is, i need to directly retrieve data from
    database. Hence while creating jcd, i want to know is there any built-in
    webservice opeartion which has been implemented to retrieve
    from database.
    If not please let me know how to implement retrieving data from
    database as a WebService operation.

    Hi,
    By default jcd acts as a webservice operation.that is why use existing webservice operation
    and use input otd for source table and output otd as a target table(if source and target is databases)
    we dont have any services for database like file client.
    Thanks,

  • Synchronous data exchange over JCaps without TCP/IP or WebService...

    Hi all,
    the subject may sound like a little crazy request, but that is what we actually need.
    Just to explain: we have a SAP R/3 system running (v. 4.72) which is not able to call Web Services and is also not able to open a TCP/IP-connection to a foreign host to exchange data.
    But what we need is a synchronous data exchange as, after pressing a button in SAP, we should query some database tables of another sub-system with JCaps and send back the received information to SAP.
    Do you have any ideas out there how this synchronous request from SAP to JCaps can be fullfilled with JCaps (our version is 5.1.3)?!
    We thought about using a HTTP server on the JCaps side, where SAP just sends a HTTP-request on the specified address and then we could use the data received from this call, to get data from the sub-system and then send it back to SAP over an RFC or something similar - that is the easier part (sending data back to SAP). The harder part, in my opinion, is to create a possibility for SAP to call JCaps immediately - so not asynchron, which we already implemented over a file export...
    So, is it possible to use HTTP-server from JCaps for our needs?! Or is there another, easier possibility?!
    Any help highly appreciated...
    Regards
    Bernhard Böhm

    Hi Chris,
    thanks for the input - we also have a similar thing running, also using our BW-Server (SAP ERP 6.0) as the "web service engine"....
    But now, we want a solution without another server (like the BW in the upper case) involved!
    So, we thought about using HTTP-server on the JCaps-side which should be invoked by a simple HTTP-request from SAP (also possible in 4.72).
    Now I tried to setup a simple HTTP-Server project in JCaps 5.1.3 and it is making me crazy right now...
    I just do not get it to work - all I would do is a simple JCD that just print a line in the log-file when started. The JCD has just a "processRequest"-method from HTTPS-Server-eWay. In the connectivity map I did set up the connection to the HTTP-Server with the servlet-url-name - property:
    http://localhost:18001/dpListenHTTP_servlet_HttpServerServlet (like described in the userGuide).
    But when trying to build the project I get this error:

  • Converting INVOIC02 idoc to EDIFACT INVOIC message (Using Adapter Module

    Hi Friends,
    We are sending customer idoc (INVOIC02) from R/3 to external system through PI. We want to generate EDIFACT output file (message type : INVOIC).
    Is it possible to convert IDoc message to EDI file format through java adapter module ? Will adapter module support this  without using Seeburger adapter ?
    kindly clarify, friends.
    Kind regards,
    Jegathees P.

    There is an alternative to Seeburger.
    DataDirect also has complete EDI-XML conversion by way of deploying a module which is called from an adapter. The range of parameters with the conversion is also quite extensive, allowing tolerance for partners who may have included non-standard EDI qualifiers and such.  The XML tags make for easier mapping.  StylusStudio XML Suite includes the EDI<->XML adapter so you can try the conversions each way directly in that package.  If you are happy with it, you need to then purchase the package from DataDirect.  We did this and implemented EDI for X12 and EDIfact, including Orders and Invoices and some other messages.  The communications part was not included.  We wrote the EDI files and used a separate process to actually send and receive the files. The IDoc <-> EDI mapping  was done using the normal graphical mapping of SAP PI. The Stylus Studio package includes the functionality to generate the XSD, which we imported to SAP PI.

  • How to Use IDOC and ALE in SAP?

    Hi anybody,
                     I want Use Idoc and ALE in sap ABAP. What is inbound and outbout process of IDOC?
    Please give me sample code for Idoc . and Sample code for ALE.
    anybody Please tell me.
    Thanks
    Regards,
    S.Muthu.
    IT Dept.

    hi,
    Follow the link for step by step ALE/IDOC tutorials.
    http://www.sapmaterial.com/idoc_sample.html
    http://www.****************/Tutorials/ALE/ALEMainPage.htm
    An IDoc is not a process.
    The term IDoc stands for intermediate document. It is simply a data container used to exchange information between any two processes that can understand the syntax and semantics of the data. An IDoc is created as a result of executing an outbound ALE or EDI process. In an inbound ALE or EDI process, an IDoc serves as input to create an application document.
    IDocs are stored in the database.
    In the SAP system, they are stored in database tables. Several utilities are available to display the information contained in an IDoc and present it in different ways. For details, refer to Chapter 11, "Monitoring the Interface."
    Every IDoc has a unique number.
    When an IDoc is generated in the system, a unique number is assigned to it. This number is unique within a client.
    IDocs are independent of the sending and receiving systems. They can be used for SAP-to-SAP and SAP to non-SAP process communication as long as the participating processes can understand the syntax and semantics of the data.
    IDocs are based on EDI standards, ANSI ASC X12 and EDIFACT, but are closer to the EDIFACT standards. The size and format of data elements in an IDoc type are derived from these standards wherever applicable. For example, if a material number is represented by 20 characters in an EDIFACT message, the corresponding data element in the IDoc is also 20 characters. If there is a conflict in data size between standards, the one with greater length is adopted. This approach ensures compatibility with most standards.
    IDocs are independent of the direction of data exchange. An inbound and an outbound process can use an IDoc. For example, the ORDERS01 IDoc is used by the Purchasing module to send a purchase order, and is also used by the Sales and Distribution module to accept a sales order. Using this technique avoids creating redundant IDoc types for the same information.
    IDocs can be viewed in a text editor and do not contain any binary data. Data is stored in character format. When transferred to the operating system, an IDoc is stored in a file in text format and can be viewed using a regular text editor. However, the contents make sense only if you understand the structure and format of the data in that IDoc. In the Appendix, "FAQs, User Exits, and Miscellaneous Resources," you will find an example of an IDoc file.
    Hope this helps, Do reward.
