Jce1_2_1 problem in SP2,  iAS 6.0 on UNIX

Hi, experts,
Has any of you encountered the problem using jce1_2_1 in the applications in
SP2, iPlanet AS 6.0 on UNIX? I followed exactly the jce1_2_1 installation
guide (for the JRE bundled with iAS) but still got a SecurityException:
certs cannot be created for trusted CAs.
If you solved the problem before, please give me some hints. I have been
working on this for days and I will appreicate your help very much.
Many thanks.
Xuran

Your PATH us wrong in two respects. You need the 'bin' directory in the PATH and not 'java' and you need to make the bin directory of 1.5 ahead of the bin directory of other java version.
PATH=/home/mec/jdk1.5.0/bin:/home/mec/apache-ant-1.6.2/bin:$PATH

  • Font problem in reports, IAS Version:  10.1.2.2.0

    Dear all,
    I have installed about 20 applications servers on windows but never met this problem before.
    I am facing the problem in viewing the report output on the Windows 2003, Oracle Application server
    Installation Type: Forms and Reports Services
    Version: 10.1.2.2.0
    I am using Arial 10 as default Font of the report,
    but in output I am getting another font.
    Please Help!
    Regards,
    Tobias

    I have found this reference on a search of oracle:
    http://download-uk.oracle.com/docs/cd/B14099_19/bi.1012/b14048/pbr_trouble.htm
    Section D1.11 says this is a know problem and to copy one registry entry to another, however, this entry does not exist on the Windows 2003 server this is running on.
    Any ideas?
    D.1.11 Printing and Font Errors When Using In-process Server
    The in-process server does not recognize the default printer of a user currently logged on to Windows. This is because the service that runs the in-process server is logged on as the Local System.
    Problem
    Any of the following:
    * Printing to default printer fails with the REP_3002 error. For example, the following command:
    http://myrepsrvr.us.oracle.com:7777/reports/rwservlet?report=myrep.rdf&destype=printer&desformat=html
    results in the following error: Error:"REP-3002: Error initializing printer. Please make sure a printer is installed."
    * Deploying reports containing Oracle6i Graphics (OGD) graphics causes Reports Server to stop responding.
    * Font alignment problems in a PDF file output from an in-process server.
    Solution
    To work around all these issues:
    1. Open the Windows registry using a registry editor (for example, regedit.exe). Create a backup of the registry before you edit it.
    2. Navigate to the following key: HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Windows
    3. Copy the string value of Device for this key. For example: \\MOWGLI\sierra,winspool,Ne02:
    4. Navigate to the following key: HKEY_USERS\.DEFAULT\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Windows
    5. Paste the Device value copied from HKEY_CURRENT_USER (the string value of Device for this key will be empty).

  • Problems in configuring iAS DAD for PL/SQL-oranl8.dll

    I configured the DAD to use the pl/sql toolkit. I tried the sql connection. It seems to work correctly. But when I used to browse my objects on our schema, apache server pops up with an error "Entry point not found" saying The procedure entry point snlpcgtsrvbynm could not be located in the dll oranl8.dll.
    The webserver ias9 is running on win2000 and the db is oracle8i release 3 running on win2000. This seems to be more of a problem of missing "Get Server by Name" function call in dynamic library. Does anyone face same problem or is there anyone can show me how to fix this. Is their any patch for this availabe?. If so please let me know.

    Exactly the same here. It hapened after I upgraded the database form 8.1.7.1.4 to 8.1.7.3.

  • Problem in "Process.waitFor()" in multithreaded application (UNIX OS)

    Hello all
    This is very urgent for me.
    I am using the follwing code to invoke the child process which calls a shell script in the unix OS,and it is going fine when runs in single thread. But if i run it as the multhreaded appln, anyone of the thread hangs in the 'Process.waitfor()' call. But sometimes all the threads are returning successfully. I am calling this code from the one or more threads. This is tested in the java1.2 and 1.3. so can u suggest me how to change the code or any way to fix up the problem.
    // the code starts
    String s[] = new String[3];
    s[0] = "/bin/sh";
    s[1] = "-c";
    s[2] = "encrypt.sh"; //some .sh filename to do the task
    Runtime runtime = Runtime.getRuntime();
    Process proc;
    proc = runtime.exec(s);
    InputStream is = proc.getInputStream();
    byte buf[] = new byte[256];
    int len;
    while( (len=is.read(buf)) != -1) {
    String s1 = new String(buf,0,len);
    System.out.println(s1);
    InputStream es = proc.getErrorStream();
    buf = new byte[256];
    while( (len=es.read(buf)) != -1) {
    String s1 = new String(buf,0,len);
    System.out.println("Error Stream : " + s1);
    // place where it hang
    retValue = proc.waitFor();
    //code ends
    i am handling the errorstream and output stream and not getting any error stream output and not printing any messages in the child process. When i synchronize the whole function, it went fine, but spoils the speed performance. I tried all the option but i could not solve the problem.
    thanks

    You're first reading all of the standard output, then reading all of the standard error. What if the process generates too much output to standard error and hangs while it waits for your program to read it? I would suggest having two threads, one which reads the standard output and the other which reads standard error.

  • Problem with configure engine in console-mode unix

    i have a problem, i tried to configure an engine of enterprise in HP_UX, but the grapical-mode doesn´t work, how can i start the admin console in console-mode??? i tried ./albpmadmcenter -console but not work!!!

    Hi,
    You would have to install using silent mode to configure the process administrator. This option is available in Oracle BPM (OBPM). Not sure if it exists even with ALBPM 6.0.

  • Oracle Installer Problem while installing Oracle 9i on HP Unix

    Hi Everyone ,
    I had earlier installed 9.2.0.1 on Linux and had no probs whatsoever . When i am trying to install Oracle 9.2.0.1 on HP Unix , the Oracle Installer opens up a window saying CHOOSE JDK HOME DIRECTORY . I have already set the PATH environment variable to point to /opt/java1.4 and /opt/java1.4/jre/bin and also JAVA_HOME to point to /opt/java1.4 . Even after trying to put the directory information it refuses to go thru giving the Error INVALID JDK HOME.PLEASE ENTER CORRECT JDK LOCATION.
    Any replies would be greatly appreciated
    Thanks
    Ravi

    This could be due to you have multiple JDK homes like java1.4 and java1.3. Instead of type JDK home in the windows box, try to browse and select the JDK home and try it. Otherwise, if you have multiple JDK homes, then try to remove one of them.

    I've set classpaths for the rich client in kjs and also in jvm12.conf of
    IPS 3.0. But going by the rich client examples given with IAS, like the
    converter client example, we have to set
    a LD_LIBRARY_PATH as in runclient.sh. There is no place in IPS where we
    can set the LD_LIBRARY_PATH. Is that the reason ?
    I would appreciate your thoughts on this issue.
    Thanks
    Partha

    One work around for this is to have only one copy in the system class path and have it loaded one only once and one copy. Then both the applications A and B can have access to this library, with out any ambiguity.
    So, put the library in the application server's system class path.
    I am little confused with your statements in 4th and 5th paragraphs, that shared library has been modified and packed in Application B and then deployed. So, you have two libraries alomost the same in Application A as well as Application B.
    According to my understanding, since the library in App B is superset to the library (shared library??, as you call. Is this really a shared library now?) in Application A, we can only have one only one library in the Application Server System class path. Am I correct?
    If this answer does not answer your question accurately, please get back. And please let me know about the answer.

  • SP2 Installation Problem on Weblogic Server 6.1SP1

    hi,
    i encountered a problem installing sp2 to my second server.

    Weblogic Server 6.1 with SP1 installed at d:\bea) x 2
    installation file itself is valid. as installation at server 1 was successful. however,
    when installing at server 2:
    1) by double clicking on the exe - blank GUI popup appeared on screen without any
    usual text (first screen that reads: welcome - the installer will guide you....).
    all three buttons were there. click on the next buttons all the way would give a
    title 'installation complete' without any delay. sp2 was not installed.
    2) by running exe from console - GUI popup appeared normally. however, when prompted
    to select bea home, selecting the default folder at d:\bea and when clicking on next
    button, a popup would appear claiming that weblogic server home is not found at d:\bea.
    and process discontinued.
    the beahomelist is found at c:\bea, with content reading correctly as d:\bea;c:\bea;
    Previous SP1 installation on server 2 about 2 months back was successful.
    would appreciate for ur input. thanks a lot in advance.

    Hi Aslam
    You will use class maps to divert the traffic to the module. Here are some basic steps.
    !Identify the traffic that needs to be diverted to the IPS SSP.
       access-list IPS permit ip any any
    !Classify the traffic using a class map.
      class-map IPS
      match access-list IPS
    !Specify the action to be taken on the traffic using a policy map. !Since there is already a policy map attached globally in the FW, !the class-map defined above will be added here !only.
    policy-map global_policy
    class IPS
    ips promiscuous fail-close (or fail-open)
    Once that is done, the rest of the configuration needs to be done on the IPS using CLI or preferrably the IDM.
