JCO connection to SRM system - in Supplier collaboration 2.0 BP

Hi Friends,
We have deployed the Supplier Collaboration 2.0 Business Package on SAP Enterprise Portal 7.
After deployed, we need to configure the JCO to SRM System. We are not configuring for catalog, IHS, et.
Now, Under the 'Supplier Portal Administration'->'System Integration' Workset, There are 4 iViews which talks about the JCO, Integration to BP.
1. JCO Client Maintanance
2. External JCO connection configuration
3. Application maintenance
4. System type configuration
I searched for documentation in tthe sap.help.com, sdn, service.sap.com but nowhere anyone mentioned the step-by-step details.
Could anyone please let me know how integrate Backend to BP of Supplier Collaboration 2.0 with JCO's using the BP iViews.
Thanks for your time.
Thanks,
Raghavendra Pothula

Hi all,
Please advise if any of you managed to resolve your query? Im busy with Supplier Collaboration 4.0 BP u2013 and am completely new to the portal area. Would appreciate any advice? I went through the SAP documentation (http://help.sap.com/saphelp_srm70/helpdata/en/55/c88265d15b4f0f9ee1653bc1146414/content.htm). So I was currently trying to set up RFC users for the systems, but not sure if Im on the right track. Would you be able to advise?
Thanks,
Emily

  • How to connect from SRM system to Punch out Catalog

    Hi all,
I would like to know connecting from SRM system to Punch out Catalog , do we require XI inbetween??
    Regards
    Vamsi

    Hi Vamsi,
There is an XML variant of the OCI interface as described in the OCI documentation attached. Using this you can use XML documents instead of plain HTTP for the OCI transfer. No specific configuration is required as a transformation agent is contained within the FUNCTION bbp_ws_mapoci_to_sc
      map xml to oci structure
        CALL FUNCTION 'BBP_WS_DISPATCH_XML_MAPPING'
          EXPORTING
            iv_xml_type       = iv_xml_type
            iv_xml_document   = iv_xml_document
          TABLES
            et_oci_items      = et_oci_item_data
            et_longtext       = et_oci_longtext
          EXCEPTIONS
            xml_mapping_error = 1
            OTHERS            = 2.
In this xml mapping function we use a CALL TRANSFORMATION to perform the XML -> OCI mapping:
Transfrom OCI XML data via XSLT to RFC structures
        TRY.
            CALL TRANSFORMATION bbp_oci_xml_to_rfc
              SOURCE XML IV_XML_DOCUMENT
              RESULT sc_items = lt_sc_items.
          CATCH CX_ROOT INTO lr_exception.
         CATCH cx_xslt_runtime_error.
            RAISE xslt_failure.
        ENDTRY.
      ENDIF.
Put mapped data into export strutures
      LOOP AT lt_sc_items INTO wa_sc_item.
        IF NOT wa_sc_item IS INITIAL.
Hopefully this clarifies the possibility of using the XML variant of the OCI.

    Jason

    Hi Vishal -
I'd double check that a) your SLD is running b) check with whomever is maintaining the SLD that it contains correct entry for message server to your target system - and that there aren't any cross - domain issues with this connection.
    cheers

  • Planner role  in Supplier Collaboration 4.0 (SRM 7.0)

    Hi Experts,
I noticed, in SRM 7.0 supplier collaboration, we have a Planner (Supplier) role. This role gives access to 'Material Monitoring' area, where in Planner can lookup up-to-date stock inview and also can view inventory and planning information from ECC. Does anyone know the purpose of this function? What screens in ECC are they being extracted from? It appears these are Java Webdynpro IViews pre-delivered.
    Thanks,
    SG

    Dear John,
Currently my client is upgrading from SRM 4.0 to SRM 7.0.
The following activities were performed along with the list as mentioned by you.
    1. The business partner migration from time independent scenario in 4.0 to time dependent scenario in 7.0. The existing BPs in SRM 4.0 need to be migrated using TD_SWITCH report. Please refer note 1077616, 1228662, 810634 for more details.
    2. FM BBP_USER_GET_ATTRIBUTES has become obsolette in SRM 7.0. Alternative FM is BBP_GET_ATTRIBUTES_AT03.
    3. To migrate existing vendors from 4.0 to 7.0, report BBP_XPRA_ORGEH_TO_VENDOR_GROUP need to be run in SRM 7.0.
    Hope this helps.
    Thanks & Regards,

  • Multiple SRM Systems One SRM-MDM Catalog?

    Hi
I'm currently upgrading our SRM 5.0 to SRM 7.01 with SRM-MDM Catalog 7.01.  Is it possible to use one SRM-MDM Catalog in our non-production environment and connect multiple SRM systems to it?
For example our sandbox, development and QA SRM 7.01 systems would all connect to the same SRM-MDM Catalog 7.01.
    Thanks.
    Neil

    Hi,
for non-production use and if it is just a catalog without custom coding running I see no problem in using one MDM server for multiple SRM systems (especially sharing one for sandboxes and dev). It is a setup I have seen multiple times and it worked always without problems.
You should set up different repositories for each SRM system so that you don't interfere with each others data (i.e. suppliers or other lookups tied to SRM).
You have to keep in mind that you have to upgrade all systems together. But you can always use separate MDM servers during the upgrade process and then consolidate onto one server when the upgrade is done.
If you are running custom coding with your MDM catalog I would recommend having a separate MDM system for the QA SRM in order to be closer to the production set-up when testing your custom solution.

  • Live Auction's jCO RFC connection to SRM is NOT successful.

    hi to all,
can any one help me about the configuration of RFC of live auction cockpit?
i have followed the inst guide, but i always keep getting this message.

    RFC Error using locale de
Your RFC connection between Live Auction and SRM has failed. Please verify the following:
Did you configure your SRM jCO setting (eg: jco.client.ashost, jco.client.sysnr etc) in Live Auction's properties?
Is the user specified in jco.client.user property exist in SRM with the correct role and password ? Please change the user to type dialog and try to logon via SAPGUI before changing it to communication user to ensure the user is NOT locked.
Did your SRM R3 has the code page installed that are specified in jco.client.lang ?

    Hi Ranin,
Have you checked the note 1593439 where it mentions:
If you are using Live Auction JAVA, you would additionally be required
to assign the Authority object S_RFC to the RFC user being used for
establishing a JCO connection between LACWPS JAVA Server and the SRM
ABAP backend system with the following values. This authority is not
needed in case you are using Live Auction on ABAP in SRM 7.0 Enhancement
Pack 1 (SAP SRM 7.01) or higher release.
           Object            Field                Value

    -uday

    Hi Uday,
you have to create a logon Group named PUBLIC with Transaction SMLG in your Backend system. Also don't forget to add the line:
    sapmsXYZ   <port_number on which XYZ listens>/tcp <For ex: 3600>
to your services file in C:\winNT\system32\drivers\etc (for the Windows 2000 system). XYZ means your Instance Name.

  • Logical System Creation & JCO Connection.................

    Hi,
I have configured ESS in my portal 6.0 but I am confused with some concepts.
I have created System in portal System Landscape with alias "SAP_WebDynpro_XSS" . & also i have created JCO Connection SAP_R3_HumanResources (Appln data/Metadata).These are the steps in configuration guide.....
My backend system is ECC 5.0.
If i can access my backend for my webdynpro iview through JCO connectiones why i need to create system in portal ????
    Thanks in advance!!!
    Smita.

    Hi,
All the Standard iviews use this System for calling the JavaWD Application.
This Java WD Application in turn uses the JCo to communicate with backend to get the application sensitive data to the application and display it.

  • Couldn't create jco client connection for logical system

    Dear Experts,
we are facing a strange issue in our custom webdynpro java application, few of our portal users are getting the "couldn't create jco client connection for logical system" for Model Data JCO Destination. below are details
    1. portal version 7.02 SP14 (we have recently updated to SP14 from SP02-- is this is causing the issue ?)
1.1. updated the NWDI track with SP14 SCA files as well as added latest WD Runtime SCA file deployed the applications to Production also.
    2. above said exception is inconsistent and happening for only few users
    3. ping and test of jco destinations are successfull in content administration as well as in SLD, destinations were added in the SLD system.
    4. cleared the JCO ARFC meta data cache in webdynpro console
    5. jco destinations are configured using uid/pwd, configured user is not locked active and tested in the backend by logging in with the same user.
    6. restarted the portal server
even though, we are getting the above said exception for few of portal users randomly.
Please help me on this ASAP, as i am not getting any further help on this.
    Thanks,
    Ram.

    Hello Ram,
Check the JCo Pool Configuration settings of your JCO Destination. This message normally comes when the maximum connections has been reached. Increase the "Maximum Connections" to some number depending on the usage. A good habit is to disconnect the jco connection after executing the same in your webdynpro code if you don't want it to be synchronous.
    <ModelName>.modelInstance().disconnectIfAlive()
    Hope this helps.
    Regards
    Vijay

  • JCO connection error:Couldn't create JCOClientConnection for logical System

    Hi All,
We are facing a production outage issue.
We have a Federated Portal Network setup where one of our producer goes down automatically (seems on heavy load).
On this Producer server we have 3 Web Dynpro applications deployed and default trace is full with JCO connection error   saying Could   not create JCOClientConnection for logical System: CSVMR_WD_MODELDATA_DEST.
We had issue with max allowed JCO connections so we changed the below mentioned parameters for JCO connection settings in portal:
u2022     Minimum value of JCo Pool Size in total = 80
u2022     Minimum value for CPIC_MAX_CONV per SAP Web AS = 320
    u2022     Maximum Number JCo Connections = 160
Please let us know if we are missing on some settings, any help in this regard is appreciated.
    Regards,
    Priyanka

    Hi,
As you have already increased the maximum number of connections/pool size but still you are facing this problem. I would suggest you to check the web dynpro application which might not be able to release/disconnect the JCO connection.
Please check this [Thread|How to close a model object connection for Adaptive RFC?; for more details.

  • Two SRM systems connected to One back end system

    Hi..
Note: I have posted this message earlier ......but couldn't find that. I am just reposting the message:
In our quality environment, we have two SRM and two backend systems. One for testing purpose and other for training purpose. We are planning to remove one back end system and connect both the SRM systems to one backend system.
    1. Is it possible to have this landscape?
    2. In SRM & R/3 we can define two RFC connnections but from R/3 side, I am not sure how the system will determine the respective RFC connection during GR or any other process.
    3. Are there any other difficulties?
We are in SRM 4.0 using Extended classic scenario. We are using SRM for processing shopping cart, Po and confirmations.
    Please advise.
    Thanks.

    Hi Prashanth,
    is  very much possible.
for this you need to configure the partner profiles.
    need to define port
need to configure inbound paramters and outbound parameters.
    we20 - create partner profiles.
define outbound parameters and inbound parameters of the message type.
    we21 - define port.
    under Transactional RFC.
and create a distribution model and add message type.
revert back to me if any problem still you find.
    regards

  • Jco connections Logical System

    Hi All
i have a problem with Jco destinations--the logical systems.
-->For META DATA i have used one userid and for MODELDATA i have used another user id.
-->When accessing the RFC from SAP Webdynpro am using another userid to get connect to R/3 system( at Single Server tab while getting the RFC/ Creating the model class).
-->When i deployed this application i am facing with following  error:
Could not create JCOClientConnection for logical System: PWC_OTR_RFC_MODEL_DATA - Model: class pwc.ca.otr.model.OpenTaskReportModel. Please assure that you have configured the RFC connections and/or logical system name properly for this model!
Please give me the best / path to the solution atleast.
    regards

    Hi Varaprasad,
Did you check your JCOs? Whether you are able to test and ping the JCO destination? Ask your basis team to check JCO settings.

    Hi Mathi,
Did u add the the sapgw<instance> 3600\tcp in the services file of the path mentioned above.
If so can you atleast ping the Destinations created by you successfully?
If everything goes on well then a final option would be tryingto Restart the Server.
Also to analyse the problems caused by JCO this manual should be helpful for you.

  • Error creation of JCO connection: System Already Exist

    Hi Experts,
We have created the SLD connection to the ECC6.0 from the Portal 7.0.
Created one JCO connection using that SLD successfully for the Clinet 100.
Now we required to create one more JCO Connection for client200 also. But it is giving the Error that
    System Already Exist.
How can we resolve this. When we create the JCO connection for one client, con't we create one more JCO connection for the same system for the differt client or not?
    If so How do it?
    Regards

I think you can add one more client in the existing connection. well, I am not sure about that even.

  • 2  Srm Systems connected to 1 R/3 system is it possible

    Hi friends,
I was looking into a situation where you would have 2 SRM systems pointing to 1 backend R/3 system. I<b> dont believe its possible.</b>
I believe you can have 1 SRM pointing to multiple backend systems, this is do-able.....
    cheers
    alex

It is possible that there can be multiple SRM system connected to 1 R/3 system...You need to setup on...IMG>SRM->SRM Server->Technical Basic Settings>Define Backend System-> There you need to provide Logical System/Description/RFC Distination and Sys Type.
I hope it clarifies your issue.
