Jd edwards world 9.x

is jd edwards world 9.x certified on weblogic server?

David,
As you may have seen, there is not a lot of activity in the JDE World forum. JDE World 9.1 is the newest version of World software and I am not familiar with that version. So it is possible that there is something new in there that I don't know about. Could you explain further what you mean/doing by "World Service Enablement"? Have you any experience at all with the IBM AS/400 and the RPG programming language? I am wondering if you are looking for something that does not exist in the JDE World software. This would explain why you are not having any luck finding any documentation. You may need to explain exactly what you are wanting to accomplish.
JDE World itself does not have an APIs to speak of. Now the IBM AS/400 operating system (OS/400) has APIs in it, but that is the OS, not the JDE software. Your use of the term "services" also bothers me, as that really does not exist in JDE World. That is why you should explain what you want to accomplish.

  • How do I connect J.D. Edwards World to other apps?

How do I connect J.D. Edwards World to other apps?

What version of World are you on? A7.3 and A8.1 are not too easy at connecting to other applications. The newer releases (A9.x) have made a good amount of improvement in this area. It really depends on what specifically you want to connect to. If you could give us some specific examples of what you want to do, we might be able to give you better answers to those specific situations.

  • New security features added in JD Edwards World A9.3

    Hi,
We have to migrate the security policy settings from A 7.3 to A 9.3.
I read that we can take the advantage of new security model which is much robust and flexible than the earlier versions.
So please advise on the following:
    a)migrate usernames/passwords.
    b)maintain security policy settings.
    c)migrate menus
    Thanks,

My goodness, this is something that you really need to contact support for help with. You don't mention what JDE World 7.3 cum version you are on, what version of OS/400 you are on, and what IBM hardware you are on. Could be all sorts of things. What sort can do is start a web session and see what is actually going on in your system, and be able to look at the various settings and configurations that you have. Something that we cannot do on this forum. Support is very well equipped to deal with this kind of problem. On this forum, we can speculate as to possible causes, but those speculations may not apply to your specific problem, and cause you to waste time chasing a dead end.

  • JD Edward Enterprise One

    hey
I have a customer who is facing some performance issues with JD Edward enterprise one application and have interest around Pack for better managability. This application is hosted on DB2 (IBM).
They are looking for a pack which works with DB2 database.
Is there a whitepaper or datasheet available on this.
    thanks in advance.
    Regards
    vasudha

Uhh, there is actually a separate category for JD Edwards Enterprise One. On the Forum home, keep paging down past the JD Edwards World category and you will find the JD Edwards Enterprise One category. World and Enterprise One are technically very different products and thus those of us running JDE World won't be able to offer much help with an Enterprise One issue. World, for example, only runs on the IBM AS/400 (or System i or Series i or i Series (IBM keeps changing the name)) computer, whereas Enterprise One runs on various types of hardware. World thus uses only the DB2/400 implementation of IBM DB2. So I suggest posting this issue in the JD Edwards Enterprise One category on this forum.

  • JDE World - Integration methods, Change Data Capture

Can anyone let me know how I can know real time data changes in JD Edwards World tables.
    1. Are there any tables in JDE World or DB2 where I can find change data capture information?
    2. How about using DB2 triggers on the JDE World tables?
    3. Or is there any other method that I can do this?
    thanks in advance

What backend database are you using, what tools do you intend to use to get at the data? With an Oracle backend there may be a variety of options.
By 'real time' do you mean immediately or within 5 minutes, 30 minutes ?

  • PHP and JDE World (A9.1)

Has anyone done any development using PHP with JD Edwards World (A91.) on i5? We would like to know more about doing something like this but have some technical issues on how to get around all the JD Edwards overhead (like DD, Menus, Soft Coding etc.) Any info would be appreciated. Thanks
    df

Whew. This is one that I think you want to contact World Support on. If nothing else, submit an enhancement request to be able to work with JDE World using PHP. The World support folks are really looking hard for enhancement suggestions. This is something that other customers may have an interest in as well. The more customers you can get behind you, the more likely something will be done. If a member of Quest, you can submit enhancement requests there and get other users to vote on the enhancment request as to where they rank it, then it would get sent on to Oracle.

  • Equivalent application to Oracle RMS/ReSA by JD Edwards.

Want to know if there is any Equivalent application to Oracle RMS/ReSA by JD Edwards. If yes , then in what format does the Log file been inputed to the application . Like For Example RMS/ReSA - oracle accepts Log files in RTLog Format. Is there any file format equivalent in JD Edwards.

Just as an FYI, it would be helpful to explain what RMS is if you are posting to a forum like this. Probably 99.9% of the people in the JD Edwards world will have no clue at all what you are talking about. Let me ask this question - are you talking about JD Edwards World software or JD Edwards Enterprise One/One World? Or both? They are two different technical environments, so it does greatly matter which product you are dealing with. Since you posted in the JD Edwards World discussion, I will assume that is what you are talking about. No, there is not anything equivalent to Oracle RMS for JDE World. JDE World runs solely on the IBM AS/400 (or i5) using the IBM DB2/400 database. You can search the Oracle Technology network on phrase "Oracle RMS" to get more information on DB2 and relationship to other data sources. If you are dealing with Enterprise One/One World, then you should post this question in that forum. Hope this helps a bit.

find the report on web can't load when i'm click the submit button
had the error message above like that
What is that , why caused it? and how to prevent and how to repair ??
    Thanks

Uhh, you are in the wrong forum. This is the JD Edwards World forum. There is a separate forum for JD Edwards Enterprise One stuff. Technically there is a very large difference between World and Enterprise One (World is a much simpler technical environment, so you have my sympathy in having to deal with One World/Enterprise One). So you are much more likely to get good responses by posting this in the correct forum. We World folks have no clue how Enterprise One works.

  • How to know the database changes between different releases

Where can I get the information of database changes, like for example new columns new tables, etc, between different releases?
My goal to try to determine the current version, or is there a better way?
    Thank you

For JD Edwards World or for JD Edwards EnterpriseOne - you can go to upgradejde.com Once this screen comes up, pick Resources. You will then have an option to take JD Edwards EnterpriseOne or JD Edwards World. On the next screen, you can select the tab Compare Releases. This will allow you to enter the release that you are currently on and enter the latest GA release of software. You will then see all the differences between your current release and the release you should upgrade to. You can also format this into a printed report.

  • Data display

    Hi,
When user runs the report R5800073 (Ver WAL0001) for the document number 338405,he will get the csv output,In the CSV output, there is one column problem details2 in which data is appearing in the second line instead of appearing in the current line.for this field, the data is coming from the table F5548A01.
The records are getting inserted into this table F5548A01 through P5548A10.The length of this field Problem details2 is 60.so user can enter only 60 characters& there is one implicit enter button. After user entered 60 characters the enter button(implicit) is triggered & data got updated in the table in the field F5548A01.SRDS1.but user entered the text(description) after 60 characters also, the remaining text got updated in the F5547A01.SRDS2 including the enter (Updated enter first, below the description got updated)because of this reason when user runs the report,in the current line space(enter) is there and in the second line description appeared.
Requirement:The description in the problem details2 should appear in the current line itself.

Hmm, what version of JDE are you on? I am thinking you might be on JDE Enterprise One (One World), since you are talking about CSV output. There is actually a separate forum for JD Edwards Enterprise One. If you go back to the forum home and scroll down past JD Edwards World, you will find the JD Edwards Enterprise One forum. World and Enterprise One are technically different products. So if you are on Enterprise One, you are better off posting on that forum. Otherwise if on World, would be curious to know what JDE World version you are on, and what software you might be using for handheld usage.

  • Functional and technical comparisons between JDE version A 7.3 and A 9.3

    Hi,
We need to convert the modules already written/designed in JDE v A 7.3 to JDE v 9.3.
So I need to discuss with you people the functional/technical comparisons between these two versions.
I have gone through these links to know something:
    http://www.teamcain.com/media-center/blog/oracle%E2%80%99s-jd-edwards-enterpriseone-91-and-jd-edwards-world-a93-%E2%80%93-exciting-news-ora-0

    Kindly advise on it.
    Thanks,

    Windows on Intel Macs
There are presently several alternatives for running Windows on Intel Macs.
    1. Install the Apple Boot Camp software.  Purchase Windows XP w/Service Pak2, Vista, or Windows 7.  Follow instructions in the Boot Camp documentation on installation of Boot Camp, creating Driver CD, and installing Windows.  Boot Camp enables you to boot the computer into OS X or Windows.
    2. Parallels Desktop for Mac and Windows XP, Vista Business, Vista Ultimate, or Windows 7.  Parallels is software virtualization that enables running Windows concurrently with OS X.
    3. VM Fusionand Windows XP, Vista Business, Vista Ultimate, or Windows 7.  VM Fusion is software virtualization that enables running Windows concurrently with OS X.
    4. CrossOver which enables running many Windows applications without having to install Windows.  The Windows applications can run concurrently with OS X.
    5. VirtualBox is a new Open Source freeware virtual machine such as VM Fusion and Parallels that was developed by Solaris.  It is not as fully developed for the Mac as Parallels and VM Fusion.
Note that Parallels and VM Fusion can also run other operating systems such as Linux, Unix, OS/2, Solaris, etc.  There are performance differences between dual-boot systems and virtualization.  The latter tend to be a little slower (not much) and do not provide the video performance of the dual-boot system. See MacTech.com's Virtualization Benchmarking for comparisons of Boot Camp, Parallels, and VM Fusion. Boot Camp is only available with Leopard or Snow Leopard. Except for Crossover and a couple of similar alternatives like DarWine you must have a valid installer disc for Windows.
You must also have an internal optical drive for installing Windows. Windows cannot be installed from an external optical drive.

Uhh, I think you are in the wrong discussion forum. There is a separate forum for JD Edwards Enterprise One/One World. This is a JD Edwards World discussion list. JD Edwards World is technically very, very different from Enterprise One. For example, JDE World, we only have to deal with one (1) server. Do not have to deal with many servers. You will have a better chance at getting good responses if you post this in the correct forum. You have my sympathies for having to deal with Enterprise One.

  • Prepare new test from Production

How to Clone JDEdwards Enterprise One from Production to Test. Which document to follow. Please advice as this is very urgent.
    Thanks.

I see you posted in both sections in the JD Edwards World category. Again, there is a separate forum for JD Edwards Enterprise One. If you go back to Forum Home and scroll down below the JD Edwards World category, you will find the JD Edwards Enterprise One category. That would be the better place to post this question (technically there is a good amount of difference between World and Enterprise One).
