JDBC Adapter in async. scenario

Hi everybody.
I have the following scenario:
R/3 ---> XI ---> Legacy
In this scenario, there is at the moment a synchronous call from XI -> Legacy using the JDBC receiver adapter. In this call there are various SELECTs and UPDATEs, so I have to use the XML SQL format of the JDBC receiver adapter.
Unfortunately, the processing of the synchronous call is quite slow, and from time to time there even is a timeout which aborts the whole process. In order to get this process to work I only see two solutions:
a) increase the timeout values of the synchronous call
b) switch from synchronous to asynchronous processing
I don't like solution a) because it could possibly influence others aspects of our XI system as well, so I prefer b).
However, I do not know how to do it or even if it is possible at all...
Is it possible to split up the synchronous call in an asynchronous request/response pair and to use correlation in a BPM?
Is JDBC receiver adapter capable of this usage scenario?

I did the following: I inserted a dummy SQL statement into my request XML message. This dummy statement simply inserted an ID into the SELECT, and this ID is returned "as is" in the result. I use this ID to create a correlation between an asynchronous SEND step in my BPM and an asynchronous RECEIVE step in the same BPM. Unfortunately it seems to me that the JDBC adapter is not capable of working in an asynchronous mode. I have created a receiver adapter, I send my SQL XML message - and I get <i>no</i> return. It seems to me like the response message (my SQL XML should generate a response) "vanishes" - there is no answer...
Is there some kind of "trick" I have to apply in order to get the JDBC receiver adapter to work in this scenario?

Correlation issue in JMS adapter - SYNC/ASYNC scenario without BPM

I am working on a SYNC/ASYNC scenario with JMS adapter without using BPM. My scenario is SOAP<>PI>JMS. I configured the interface as below:
1. SOAP Sender channel
2. JMS Receiver Channel writing to Queue A.
     Module used:      a. RequestOneWayBean
               b. WaitResponseBean
     Correlation Settings:
               a. Set JMS Correlation ID to "XI Message ID"
               b. Store JMS CorrelationID of request (Checked)
               c. Set JMS Property to "JMS Correlation Id"
               d. Value = "XI MEssage ID"
3. JMS Sender channel reading from queue B ( I am exporting the message from queue A and importing into queue B)
     Module used:      a. NotifyResponseBean
     Correlation Settings:
               a. Set XI MEssage Id to "GUID"
               b. Set XI Conversation ID to "Stored JMS COrrelationID of Request"
I can see the cid in the message from queue A. But I observed thhat the header format of the message in Queue A is "MQSTR".
ISSUE:
1. While writing the message to queue A, below adapter log details(part b) concerned me:
     a. Message '8747a7c2-2b06-11df-8055-005056a70ed6' successfully processed by channel
     b. Could not create acknowledgements for message '8747a7c2-2b06-11df-8055-005056a70ed6'
I am not sure why I am receiving the message that " could not create acknowledgements"
2. While reading the message from the sender channel,I consistently get the error message as below:
     a. XI message ID corresponding to JMS message with ID 'ID:414d51205341504449442e514d202020c67b954b20005602'
          will be created as a new GUID with value '21bca916-424f-41f6-3347-c71090392b58'
     b. Error while processing message '21bca916-424f-41f6-3347-c71090392b58'; detailed error description:
          com.sap.aii.adapter.jms.api.channel.filter.MessageFilterException: found no correlation ID: RecoverableException:

found no correlation ID at com.sap.aii.adapter.jms.core.channel.filter.SendToModuleProcessorFilter.filter(SendToModuleProcessorFilter.java:105) ...
This error would generally arose when there are multiple messages, got stuck in the outbound queue. Try to stop both the sender and receiver JMS comunication channels and clear both the inbound and outbound queues.
Once all the messages in the queue are cleraed, try posting the message again.

i am using JDBC to JDBC adapter.in my scenario sender comunication channel is in error.
Error during database connection to the database URL 'jdbc:odbc:Driver={Microsoft Access Driver (.mdb)} ;DBQ=C:\xifile\Student_Database.mdb' using the JDBC driver 'sun.jdbc.odbc.JdbcOdbcDriver': 'com.sap.aii.adapter.jdbc.sql.DriverManagerException: Cannot establish connection to URL 'jdbc:odbc:Driver={Microsoft Access Driver (.mdb)} ;DBQ=C:\xifile\Student_Database.mdb': java.lang.NullPointerException'
please help.

Can you change your string from:
jdbc:odbc:Driver={Microsoft Access Driver (*.mdb)} ;DBQ=C:\xifile\Student_Database.mdb
to:
jdbc:odbc:Driver={Microsoft Access Driver (*.mdb)};DBQ=C:/xifile/Student_Database.mdb

Pass system ack of JDBC adapter to ERP in IDoc - XI - JDBC scenario

Dear all,
i have an IDoc -> XI -> JDBC scenario (without using ccBPM). In the standard way the ERP system, sending the IDoc waits for an application acknowledgement. However the JDBC adapter is only capeable to send system acknowledgements.
Is there a way to pass these acknowledgements to the IDoc status record?
In help.sap.com (http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nwpi71/helpdata/en/ab/bdb13b00ae793be10000000a11402f/frameset.htm) under "IDoc Processing with the IDoc Adapter " there is a table that maps XI system/applic acknowledgement to IDoc status. So in my opinion the status record of my IDoc should at least chenge to the corresponding status for the system ack.
Can anyone tell, if this is really working? What if I deactivate the acknowledgement request in the NOALE programm?
In any case, can I achieve to transfer the system ack to the IDoc status without using a ccBPM?

Without BPM, No.
So in my opinion the status record of my IDoc should at least chenge to the corresponding status for the system ack.
The ack referred here is related to idoc status whether it is properly reached till XI or not and not related to the JDBC ack.
What if I deactivate the acknowledgement request in the NOALE programm?
Then u won't have any ALEAUD message at sender R3.
In any case, can I achieve to transfer the system ack to the IDoc status without using a ccBPM?

RFC to JDBC(Insert) async scenario

In RFC to JDBC(Insert) async scenario we are getting the the response from JDBC as <insert_count>1</insert_count> after inserting in to DB . Is there any way to stop getting response?

Firstly this is not an error but an acknowledgement from the JDBC that the Insert for the corresponding Statement node is successful. The count 1 represents that you have made just one Insert-Statement call to the JDBC......had there been no Insert in the DB then you could have got 0 insetad of 1.
Normally happens when the sender requests for an acknowledgement. Don have knowledge on the ABAP-front so cant comment on the blog given by Prateek, but seems that because of the sync nature of RFC you are getting this ack from JDBC...

Howto Scenario: Inbound IDOC - 2 rows into JDBC adapter ?

Hi,
How can I achieve the following:
Inbound IDOC into XI, has to be transformed, and 2 rows have to be inserted into a database table.
I am able to insert 1 row through the XMB2DB_XML mode in JDBC adapter.
A solution could be to create an identical XML structure ("access" elements) through mapping, but I am unable to get 2 XML structures from 1 inbound IDOC document.
Any ideas are most welcome.

On the target side, right-click on the "access" element and select "Duplicate Subtree". Now, you should have 2 "access" structures to map from the IDoc.

JDBC Adapter: unique constraint

Hi,
my scenario: IDoc -> XI -> JDBC.
I would like to know whether the data processing on my Oracle database was successful or not. If an unique constraint fails on oracle (i have test it)
the idoc has status successful although (XI: SXMB_MONI) . how i can make sure, that my idoc is in error state, if a unique constraint or any other error @oracle occurs ??

Hi,
Few options~~
1. Make a Synch Call to the JDBC Insert so that you will get a response back with the Insert_Count etc. Wrap the SEND SYNCHRONOUS step with an Exception handler block of the BPM. If there is an Unique key violation, the Exception handler block of the BPM will be trigered. if everything is succesful, then terminate your BPM with the Send Synch call itself. No other step needed after this.
2.If you do not want to complicate your scenario by using a BPM , I would suggest that you continue with the existing IDOC --> JDBC scenario and you use adapter Engine Alerts of XI's alerts framework to trigger a notification when there is the error in your JDBC adapter.

Hi Guys,
we have installed the JDBC Adapter based on the How To Guide and we checked after the installation the Libaries :Cluster --> Server --> Libraries --> com.sap.aii.af.jmsproviderlib and the box Box "JARs Contained" was filled.
So in my point of view we have done everything right during the installation.
Now the developer tested theJDBC Adapter and he comes back with following Error:
Attempt to establish database connection failed with SQL error com.sap.aii.adapter.jdbc.sql.DriverManagementException: Cannot establish connection to URL "jdbc:microsoft:sqlserver://xxx.x.xx.xxx:1433; databaseName=CZZ03;":ClassNot FoundException: com.microsoft.sqlserver.jdbc.SQLServerDriver

Reg: How to Stop Polling of JDBC Adapter without Scheduling the adapter

Dear Gurus,
Here I am having one requirement. My clients wants to send data from JDBC adapter (ORcale System table) to R3 system via RFC.
His Requirement::
1. He is not telling the time of data flow from Oracle server so that based on that we can schedule the adapter in the Communication Channel monitoring (Availablitiy Time Planning) or Else we can Schedule by deciding the setting of the polling interval time.
2. He is telling that When ever he waants to send the data he will place one dummy file in the File Adapter FTP location so that it will became an Indication for u to poll the jdbc adapter and to transfer the data to R3.
3. Untill he keeps the file or gives indication he doesn;t want to communicate with Oracle server due to some security and it s a most important data base he doesn't want to disturb that Oracle Server as so many business are running on that.....
We Proposed::
1. Atleast you need to tell the scheduling time or poll interval time so that we can schedule our adapter.
but he s not accepting for this
2. Atleast U need to give access for Data base to enter one more extra field like STATUS CODE so that we will add one number and we keep on Update in the Update table and based on that Update table statement it will poll.
but he s not even accepting for this
3. Finally we prposed that to create another table in the Oracle SYstem as Dulplicate Table which is similar to Standard Orginal table when ever he wants to pick the data please keep that data in this Duplicate TABle so that JDBC adapter will pick the data from thsi TABLE instead of picking the data from that standard table so that it will not effect any standard table data in the table.
but he s not even accepting for this
We have done some R & D:::
1. WE approached even through BPM and via switch conditions is one scenario
   FILE RECEIVE >SWITCH CONDITION> RECEIVE AND SEND or else EXIT
2. Using correlation in anotehr scenario means correlating File adapter and JDBC and based on one dynamica value it will goes to SEND STEP ( RECE IVE --> RECEIVE --> SEND STEPS )
Even though we know this...concept that...we jsut tried::
In BPM we can control the flow in XI 3.0 but we cannot Stop the Polling of JDBC adapter at backend because one the data comes from FILE adapter it will keep on HOLD untill it receives the JDBC from Oracle then based on the condition or Correlation it will goes futher SEND step means after that file adapter is picking file or not ...what ever it may be JDBC will polls at backend and brings that data to BPM"
Hence sugest me How to Stop Polling of JDBC Adapter without Scheduling the adapter or else using STATUS CODE Update statements in JDBC Tables

1. First let confirm whether my development steps are right or not ?

If my scenario s FILE2RFC2FILE then I will get RFC response automatically but here issue is this is JDBC

How to insert a NULL value in SQL using JDBC Adapter

Hi All,
I have a File -> JDBC scenario.
In the File and in the SQL table I have a column called "MR_DATE" that needs to be mapped
I have to do the following:
If MR_DATE is NOT equal to "00000000"
then pass MR_DATE to SQL table
else
set the MR_DATE column in the table as NULL.

Hi Piyush,
In the receiver JDBC adapter select the option Interpretation of Empty String Values as NULL.
Pass date as empty, it will be interpreted as NULL by adapter and inserted in database.

How to call Packaged Stored Procedure in JDBC Adapter?

hello frnds,
I m working on a SAP R/3 -> XI -> Oracle scenario. Here on receiver side i m using JDBC Adapter in which i m using a stored procedure.
I have my stored procedure in a Package. Example : package "PKG_SPARES_VOR_UPLOAD" and in that stored procedure "pr_spares_vor_po_hdr_upload".
i have checked that if i write this stored procedure outside the package then it works fine... but if i put it into the package then it is giving me error that ....

If my procedure is not in a package, everything is right.
And I musn't indicate all the name, because I musn't put '.' in the name (of the procedure), in my DT on XI.
It would be so nice to have an answer.

Table name in Receiver JDBC Adapter

Hi All,
I am using receiver JDBC adapter.
But table name consist of " like BPC."#II" .
After mapping table name becomes BPC."#II" .
I am getting error while pulling data from DB.
Is the table name creating a problem.
Please remedy of this if you have come across such scenario.

Sender JDBC to Receiver RFC scenario

Hi All,
I have to configure an scenario of sender JDBC to receiver RFC wherein SAP PI will be pulling data from third party database (Oracle).
Since I am configuring such scenario of sender JDBC, I want help on every important key aspects/prerequisites of configuring sender JDBC adapter/channel. I want to understand about Database Connection, Processing Parameters, etc. details while configuring sender JDBC channel and their significance/relevance.
Also I need guidelines about the source data structure (message type or external definition) to be used/created in ESR.
How sender JDBC channel and receiver JDBC channel differs from each other?

How sender JDBC channel and receiver JDBC channel differs from each other?
JDBC sender always does a poll to a DB table (with join some tables) in wich table you will need a field checkbox to mark the registers read, and the the receiver JDBC you can do a typical SQL construction like SELECT, INSERT, DELETE, etc. Both cases need the JDBC DB driver installed (check the SAP notes for this, also you can find some examples in the SCN:http://www.sdn.sap.com/irj/scn/go/portal/prtroot/docs/library/uuid/8000cffc-6b92-2d10-3493-f2ac1399242f?quicklink=index&… PI/XI: deploy a JMS/JDBC driver without JSPM? ).

How to use Stored Procedures in Sender JDBC Adapter.

    we are having a lot of legacy application which are on .Net. basicaly using MS SQL & stuff. As a Integration scenario we have to triggered some events from JDBC to XI. How can i do this. Secondly there are multiple tables from which i will be selecting a record & sending it to XI for further processing the Receiver Side we are having SAP system.
    How can i use a Stored procedure in XI Sender Adapter ?
    Can anybody tell me step by step how to get the XSD of Stored procudere & used in XI. ?
     I am new to XI. I have not yet configured any sceneario.
     Can anybody guide me step by step how to do this.

check this in the JDBC Sender Adapter Configuration
Query SQL Statement -> Specify an SQL EXECUTE statement to execute a stored procedure, which contains exactly one SELECT statement.
The expression must correspond to the SQL variant supported by the relevant JDBC driver. It can also contain table JOINs.
