JDBC/RMI driver does not support BLOB data type

WLS 5.1 JDBC/RMI driver does not support BLOB data type. It is said in the Weblogic e-doc.
I am using DataSource for database connections, meaning JDBC/RMI driver is actually producing
database connections. I need several columns of BLOB types in my Oracle tables.
Should I use the "JTS" driver instead in order to have the BLOB types supported ?
Thanks for help.

The error java.rmi.UnmarshalException seems to indicate you are somehow accessing the data-source over RMI, this seems odd. Are you running TopLink on a client and trying to connect to a WebLogic DataSource on the server?
Maybe try connecting directly to the DataSource without going through TopLink and see if you encounter the same issue.
You could also look at the TopLink WebLogic Examples and see how their configuration is different than your own.

    Dear Oracle Guru:
Please confirm: Oracle JDBC thin driver does not support writing data to remote database via database link.
The following errors occur when trying to write data into a remote database via database link through jdbc thin driver:
ORA-03106: fatal two-task communication protocol error
    ORA-02063: preceding line from FDBE.PAPDSRAS1
ORA-02063: preceding 2 lines from PA

    Thanks, Dan.
I still think it is a driver problem, because I can do similar things in a stored procedure or in PL/SQL Developer to copy records from a local database table to a remote database table via database link (insert into mytable@pa select * from mytable). The value for distributed_transactions of our database is 10.

  • JDBC driver does not support XA, hence cannot be a participant in two-phase

    Hi
I have a question, we enabled "One Phase Commit", even though we are getting "javax.transaction.xa.XAException: JDBC driver does not support XA, hence cannot be a participant in two-phase commit. To force this participation, set the GlobalTransactionsProtocol attribute to LoggingLastResource (recommended) or EmulateTwoPhaseCommit for the Data Source =nested exception is: javax.transaction.xa.XAException: JDBC driver does not support XA, hence cannot be a participant in two-phase commit. Thanks
    Edited by: user7256072 on Apr 10, 2012 12:35 PM

Is there more than one resource participating in the transaction?
If this is the case, and the resources are for example a database and JMS, you can emulate XA
by using the logging last resource setting on a non-XA driver.
An example of the above is presented here: http://middlewaremagic.com/weblogic/?p=7716 (the section my first JavaEE6 application)
Here a stateless EJB is used that has an insertPerson method that uses a datasource and JMS in a transaction.

i have enabled the LoggingLastResource option still it is not working showing the same error.
i have a doubt in this case my datasource is of type XA then is there any need to enable any of the above option(LoggingLastResource (recommended) or EmulateTwoPhaseCommit).
please do reply it has hampered many of the tasks.

  • JDBC-ODBC Bridge does not support Unicode UTF-16

    Hi
I'm using Jdeveloper 10.0.3 IDE in order to develop an application for data transformation between MS Access 2003 (source) and Oracle 10g (destination). Clients use Windows XP.
JDBC-ODBC Bridge still does not support Unicode UTF-16 which is the Charest used by MS Access 2000/2003.
Note that when I changed locale in regional setting, destination Connection to Ora10g failed to open a connection, it works only with English locale, so I can't change my locale information.
How can I read Unicode from source DB?
Any help would be appreciated. I look forward to see your response.

    Read reply #5.
    It says
You're getting this exception because you're using the executeUpdate() method that returns a ResultSet. That's a JDBC 3.0 function, and the JDBC-ODBC bridge only supports JDBC 1.0.Good Luck.

  • [ODBC Driver Manager] Driver does not support this function

    HI every body
In Win Server 2008 R2 , I tried to retrieve data from my ODBC Driver
by Report Builder , my connection test is successful , but after any retrieve data by SQL Statement I encounter with this Error :
IM0001: [Microsoft] [ODBC Driver Manager] Driver does not support this function
I use Win Server 2008 R2 , and my ODBC Driver installed on :
    %SystemRoot%\SysWOW64\odbcad32.exe
Can anyone help me to solve this problem, its realy urgent for me ,
    PLEASE HELP ………………..

ODBC Driver name is PMSDK (32 bit) and installed by Primavera software
I use SQL Report Builder to connect the driver and try SQL Statement in it
Report Builder may be executing an ODBC function to retrieve meta data, and that function is not supported by the PMSDK driver.  Are you using the latest version of the PMSDK driver?  You might try turning on ODBC tracing to find out the problem
    function.

  • Help!!! Installed Sound Card driver does not support Direct Sound input

I have just installed Premier Pro CS3 on a brand new PC. I am a new user and I am receiving a message "The installed sound card driver does not support direct sound input".
PC is a 3 GHZ Intel Duo
    4 G RAM
    2 x 500 G HD
    Windows Home Vista Preminum
I am sure it is a simple fix and really appreciate any one given me the time or guidance to help get me started.
    Many Thanks

Thanks Harm for the prompt reply, nice one!
Sound Card is a "Realtek High Definition Audio"
    Driver Version 6.0.1.5408
It was shipped with this Dell PC.
I checked the driver was up to date etc. So not sure what to do now.

  • Soundcard driver does not support DirectSound ?

    Hi,
I just had to reinstall my OS, (Vista) Then I reinstalled AE CS3, now when I open AE I get a message saying that,
"The currently installed soundcard driver does not support DirectSound Input. Recording audio is not possible"
My soundcard is a 'High Definition Audio Device' made by Microsoft, it works fine and all the drivers are up to date.
Does anyone know anything about this problem or how to fix it ?
    Thanks in advance.
    J.

Well, what driver did it use before you re-installed? A standard MS HD Audio device doesn't mean anything. It would install that standard driver on a 10 year old computer, as it's more or less an emulation device. You will have to install the correct chipset specific driver, which probably merely requires a manual initialization of Windows Update with extended options. likewise you should be able to find out what audio device is in your system e.g. by using SiSoft Sandra to probe it...

  • Error -11040 Driver does not support this function- Informix SE db

    Hello,
Weu2019re getting an error -11040 "Driver does not support this function" when trying to connect to an ODBC data source to an InformixSE database. This is with Crystal 2010 and 2008 on a Windows XP sp2 box. Weu2019re trying to use the ODBC(RDO) choice for a new connection.
The Informix ODBC driver has been loaded. We tried 3 versions, the 2.40 and 3.70(latest) ones from IBM, and one that I believe came with Crystal (CR xxxx). I tried turning on the ODBC trace file, but it didnu2019t write anything to the log. We are supplying the same log in credentials as with Excel.
The Informix database we use is Informix SE (Standard Engine) v5.10 on separate machine running Unix (Aix) with the Informix-Net daemon running to handle odbc connectivity. We are able to connect from Excel to the Informix database.
I donu2019t know what ODBC function Crystal may be expecting from the driver that it doesnu2019t seem to support and how to tell Crystal to not need it.
    Thanks,
    Mike

    Hi Mike,
According to the Platforms for DB support we only support these Informix data sources:
IDS (Informix Dynamic Server)     11.50       32 bit       64 bit        Linux               AIX                   Solaris
IDS          IDS Client 11.5                                     Direct     Direct     Not Supported     Not Supported     Not Supported
ODBC      IBM Informix ODBC SDK 3.50             Direct     Direct     Direct             Direct             Direct
ODBC      DataDirect ODBC 6.0 SP2 (10)      Direct     Direct     Direct             Direct             Direct
You may want to try the Data Direct 6.x drivers as a test.
CR in the .NET IDE is running under 32 bit mode so make sure you are using the 32 bit Client.

To see which ODBC function DG4ODBC is looking for and unixODBC isn't supporting it would be best to get an ODBC trace file. But as your unixODBC driver (unixODBC-2.2.11-10.el5) is outdated and these old drivers had a lot of issues when being used on 64bit operating systems (for example wrong sizeofint etc). So best would be to update the unixODBC Driver manager to release 2.3.x. More details can be found on the web site: www.unicodbc.org

  • Native error code -2147217887 0x80040e21 Microsoft OLE DB Provider for ODBC Drivers: ODBC driver does not support the requested properties.

I configured MySQL in TestStand and making a query in TestStand like this:
Command :=> "SELECT *  FROM crc_table ; " or  "SELECT CRC_Value  FROM crc_table ; " returns the total number of records without any errors.
But when I add the "where" clause
    "SELECT crc_table.CRC_Value  FROM crc_table where crc_table.File_ID= Locals.File_ID and crc_table.Version_ID = Locals.Version_ID and crc_table.Link_ID = Locals.Link_ID; "
    I get the error as:
Error, The following SQL command failed: 'SELECT crc_table.CRC_Value FROM crc_table where crc_table.File_ID= Locals.File_ID and crc_table.Version_ID = Locals.Version_ID and crc_table.Link_ID = Locals.Link_ID; ...' Native error code -2147217887 0x80040e21 Microsoft OLE DB Provider for ODBC Drivers: ODBC driver does not support the requested properties. [Error Code: -10, User-defined error code.]
I tried the same syntax in MySQL Query Browser and got the correct result:
    SELECT crc_table.CRC_Value  FROM crc_table where crc_table.File_ID= "FID1" and crc_table.Version_ID = "VID1" and crc_table.Link_ID = "L1";
    I would appreciate your help.
    Thank you,
    Vidula

    Vidula,
I am not completely sure if this is the cause of the error but it is something that will cause problems if it is not fixed.  In your SQL statement you must properly concatenate your strings with your variables.  In the statement you posted you were simply putting the variable names in the string, not actually pulling their values.  To do so properly your query should look something like this:
    "SELECT crc_table.CRC_Value  FROM crc_table where crc_table.File_ID='"+Locals.File_ID+"' and crc_table.Version_ID = '"+ Locals.Version_ID+"' and crc_table.Link_ID = '"+Locals.Link_ID+"' ;"
This way we are using the values of the variables in conjunction with the text strings.  In this case the usage of single quotes (') casts the variables as strings so you may need to change this character sequence, but from the second example you gave I think that your variables are of type string so this should work fine.

  • "LZPL driver does not support SAPscript! There may be no printout"

    Hello Experts,
(Please note some problem alike was discussed, the answer was not really clear though
Therefore I refer to this error once again)...
Tying to print a sapcript form (label).
Label design with zebra software; copied to sapscript. (ZPL Code, thus)
Spool showing ZPL commands instead of content.
Error in spool: "LZPL driver does not support SAPscript! There may be no printout"
    configuration as per TAC SPAD:

    Please advise. Thanx in  advance

Aim was to print labels for goods receipt with Sapscript.
I started using device types for zebra printers assuming they were adequate for Zebra printers. This is also the usual recommendation in many ABAP chats.
But they do not work and even give the error message "LZPL driver does not support SAPscript!
I could achieve a solution this way:
    1. I Used Zebra Designer for MYSAP: Design label / export label as ITF-file
    helpful link:
    http://www.servopack.de/support/zebra/ZDesignerSAP_RG.pdf
    2. SO10 create text (Standard), any name. Upload  ITF-file into it. Copy code into label text, see OMCF "maintain label text"
    3. OMCF,here I used the standard config.
Alternatively to point 2 you can upload ITF-file directly into editor (step "maintain label text")
    4. Maintain printer in TA SPAD.I did not maintain it (like very often recommended) as  zebra-device-type. I use the ASCIIPRI-device-type. Once it was maintained I went to 3rd tab "device type" and tried different drivers --> at the end I used STNDwhich turned out to work best for my purpose.
I do write all these steps because there are a lot of solutions in the web that can drive one crazy not giving a real solution...
But at the end it is rather trivial, if you have the right hints...
