JDev 10.1.2 Strange DB connection problems
Hey All,
Has anyone else noticed problems in Jdeveloper 10.0.1.2.?
In the connections tab, under databases, I am getting strange things happening.
Example 1.
Right click on a database, open SQL worksheet, and type.
SELECT * FROM SOME_TABLE
I get 9 rows (the max is set to 100), if I then click refresh, I get the full 100 rows.
Example 2.
Writing stored procedures, function, plsql, etc, seems to have problems. If I drop back to 9.0.5.2, then I do not see any of these problems.
I am connecting to multiple 9 databases, and there are no probs with 9.0.5.2.
Any ideas ?

I get the same thing with the refresh button, I assumed it was some sort of 'feature'.

Strange Macbook connectivity problem
I have the latest Macbook with 802.11 a,b,g and N installed and enabled.
I also have an Apple AirPort Extreme (802.11n) with an Apple TV connected to it.
Strange thing is that when I enable 802.11n only (5GHZ) on the wireless router,only the Apple TV will connect.
Nothing I do to the Macbook will allow it to connect at 802.11n. If I reconfigure the Airport to 802.11 g ,a and n the Macbook will then see the wireless network,and connect.
This defeates the object,as I wanted to seperate the Apple TV and the Macbook from the rest of my 802.11g devises.
The Airport is connected via a wired connection to a router.
It opperates in Bridge mode.
Can anyone help.

You need that update to make your MacBook n compatible. But only the newest one will work. Or if you got the AEBS, and installed the CD, then it should have put it on so you don't need to buy that. -
Strange Internet Connection Problem
I have encountered a problem with my wireless and Ethernet connections on my Windows 8.1 in my college dorm. My computer shows the symptoms of a dead internet, except I can still use Skype and play Team Fortress 2 online with other people like normal, but
whenever I try using IE, Chrome, or Firefox, it doesn't work.
Some other info: I believe a windows update may have caused it, as no other setting changes took place between when it worked and when it stopped working.
I can still connect to Google by typing in the IP address and perform searchs on the site, so I believe it may be a DNS problem. But I have tried many other things on the internet I thought to be in a similar situation over the past few days, but none of
them have helped.
I'm hoping posting here will give me some answers as I am really running out of options for ways idea on how to fix this.I am having the same issue. I can go to the Microsoft store but when I try going on the Internet it says I have no Internet connection. Can someone please help.

Really Strange Internet COnnectivity Problem
I have a wireless-G 2.4Ghz Broadband Router (Model No. WRT54G) with three computers (all wireless) and two printers (both wired) hooked up to it, but right now only one computer is able to recieve any internet connectivity whatsoever.
I've tried repairing the connection, turning off both the modem and the router and leaving them off for 15 minutes, and still I have had no luck.
Any suggestions?one way to check if you have internet connection is to go to the command prompt and type in >ping yahoo.com if you get 4 replies, then you have the connection. open your internet explorer and click on tools. on the general tab, click delete files and delete also cookies. try to use default security and make sure on the connections tab, the "never dial a connection" radio button is selected. click on the LAN connections sub-tab and uncheck all the boxes in there. try to open a website now using your internet explorer.

I am having a very strange DMVPN connection problem.
I'm in the initial stages of moving from an IPSEC Site-to-Site vpn to a full DMVPN cloud. I currently have only one spoke converted from Site-to-Site to DMVPN.
Site to Hub connection looks like this
1841 -> Internet -> 2821 -> Core switch
From the spoke I can reach most resources off the core switch. However I'm unable to open internet browser connections to internal resources. Previously this site had been a Site-to-Site vpn using the same addressing and connecting through the same equipment. As a Site-to-Site vpn I can connect to all the proper internal network resources, as I can at all the other Site-to-Site vpn locations.
AS soon as I moved to DMVPN I started having connection problems to certain resources.
Once packets from the spoke reach the internal network is their any difference in their content between a DMVPN and a Site-to-Site vpn?You can read more about it here:

I realize the settings I gave you aren't what is recommended in the document. I got those settings from TAC and they work for me. I haven't had a chance to play around with them to try different combinations as it typically breaks things.
The df-bit clear would remove the 'do not fragement' flag from the packet, enabling the router to fragment these packets into smaller sizes so they can get under the max MTU size. You shouldn't need the df-bit clear with the ip tcp adjust-mss command in place.
Transport mode may also help you here. It will reduce header overhead on the packets that are traversing your tunnel. -
Strange connection problems -- software or hardware?
I've been experiencing some strange connectivity problems of late, and am wondering if it's a software or hardware issue. I'm running OS-X 10.4.11, and have noticed web-associated "drop-outs" occurring. When I'm browsing, any of the following will happen:
1. the pages will periodically stop loading, or will take forever to load a few final images.
2. the page will load with a different format (completely unformatted, like a throwback to Mosaic!).
3. the page won't load at all, and will instead give me either a "DNS error" message, or will default to my ISP's "We couldn't resolve your page" message.
4. Nothing out of the ordinary happens.
Throughout this process, the connection strength is 100%.
It seems this happens with both Firefox and Safari. Is this an issue with driver software, or is my Airport Card giving out? My computer is about 3 years old.I have been having intermittent connection problems on several computers over many years now. We have 12 eMacs, all purchased within a few months of each other, all with 10.4.11. Some computers have almost perfect internet connection, but some are constantly losing connection. If the user just waits a few minutes, the network just comes back or if they open system preferences and renew the DHCP lease it comes back as well. We have tried replacing cables, reloading the operating system, repairing permissions, reseting safari... Wow, there are alot of syncing problems with the Classic...
Anyway, here's mine. It's not that bad, just real annoying.
Everytime I plugged it in, I see the screen that had the first box (out of four) checked that selects auto sync. If I check manually manage, it resyncs for what seems like FOREVER. After I get control back and try to manually delete or move songs it seems to resync again and it takes forever. If I disconnect and reconnect, the setting defaults back to auto sync setting.
I starting using the USB port in the back and it worked great for a while, now its back to the problem. This problem keeps me from manually managing my music- any suggestions?I have been having intermittent connection problems on several computers over many years now. I'm having strange random connection failures. Are there ineffieciency in my config?
I've been having strange, random connection failures and I'm trying to eliminate possible causes.
What happens is while I'm browsing on the net over wifi, a link will at random not connect to the site, but instead fault to the ISP error page. It happens with highly reliable sites like google, or ebay, or whatever. If I direct connect to the cable modem, the problem site is immediately available.
I'm sitting <6 feet from a 871W router (with antenna). There's one router in my building and others are at my neighbors.
Below is the conf file. Just to imagine how rediculious this problem is, here's a screen shot from a web page. This shows a web page I visited, and after clicking on a link (an embedded youtube video), the error showed up within the page itself.
Why would only some URLs fail to connect? Is there inefficiencies in my config?

endI removed the ip router 0 0 to no great effect, which I consider to be a win.
I'm guessing that since overload is what--I understand--translates the one outside to the many inside IPs, that the suggestion to have only one overload configured means I should combine the two ip ranges into one.
I deleted 10.0.0.0 network. Changed the bridge references to 1 and vlan references to 1. Now wifi and ethernet should all be using the same internal network? That's the idea, right? Any more fat?

I have a problem with the connection to oracle database 10g express edition, which is the next thing I can not connect to the EMS manager 2010 for oracle, not to ModelRight 3.5.
already tried by the SQLPLUS and connect perfectly well connected by the manager that brings APEX http. And it's strange to connect with sqlplus and not applications. You turn off the firewall to see if the port was blocked.
do not know if the problem is in the TNSNAMES.ORA OR OR listener.ora sqlnet.ora, because the check and I think I see it, not if it has something to environment variables with this because there are not very well as configure whether someone can give me would be very grateful for assistance in advance, please help and I have days trying to resolve this.

Connectivity problems on ATM MPLS network
We have implemented a country wide MPLS network based on 8500 platforms. We have encountered some strange connectivity problems between some PE's. Without apparent reason connectivity is lost between some PEs and restored after some time. The global routing table is perfectly stable among all the routers on the path between respective PE's. Also the LVC's & TAGs are stable and practically we were unable to find any change between the working and not working state. As a curious thing, during the outage (minutes) clearing routes into a PE VRF was restoring connectivity on the respective VRF and all other VRFs on the respective PE also!
Has enyone seeing similar problems before?
PE routers are 3660 series and we've tried all IOS available on CCO.Have you made any provisioning (upgrading connectivity) bet the PEs and Ps....I suffer such a similar problem with our network PEs and I notice that this happen after provisioning links between our PEs (RPMs in MGX 8850) and the ATM LSR (BPX 8600).
when i issue "clear ip route vrf *" or reload the RPM.....all the VRFs operate normally again.....so I get used to such a problem after any network provisioning process but still i couldn't relate this to problems with VRFs. -
For some strange reason the screen display of my computer goes black when I move the screen back or foward and only slight pressure on the back of the screen seems to make the image come back. I have looked at batteyr and display propereties and everything is working... I guess it comes from a connectrion problem between the screen and the computer..
Knowing that I had this Ibook for now four days, what should I do, ? if it is really a connection problem, would it be under guarantee ?sounds like a connection problem (wiring), return with your iBook to an AppleCenter and they can get this fixed for you, you may need to send the ibook away or they might be able to fix it on site for you.

BlazeDS country specific connection Problems
Hello everybody,
we have a Flash Webshop Application with BlazeDS Service, which works fine in Germany and many countries and even in China over a Akamai Cloud.
But a strange issue we have connection problems from Finland, UK and AT - sometimes also from Italy and hapens sporadically in certain times, where the connection is slow and the Application show connection timeout problems. We have also IBM provider logs with timeouts after 8 second ( ERR_NETWORK_RESET ) and other messages about 502 Gateway timeout.
We have done also some analysis at Akamai and there we get connection timeouts from Server.
What in the world could be the Problem with this countries / country routings ?
Some Experts have checked the Problem and never find what it could be.
Here some Datails of our architecture.
We have an LoadBalancer with 6 Server behind and some times about 1000 Users per Server. I know the blazeDS support 100 concurrent connections.
We use at the Moment BlazeDS 3.1 ( maybe i don't remember info or 3.2 ) and will updated at next to BlazeDS 4.0.1.xx and enabled Logging.
Where we can start to search: maybe we have reached the maximum of connections ? But only from Finland ?
On Client Side:
We have used a default RemoteObject with default 3 Seconds polling enabled with a single AMF channel.
We use Flex SDK 3.6
I don't know may be here we have some wrong configurations - but this would not explain the problems with this countries.

RegierWe use Tomcat 5.5.16 at Server side and tested the problematical user with the url without Loadbalancer, but still the same problem.

Having connection problems with Mail after installing 10.9.4
I upgraded to 10.9.4 a few days ago, and ever since, I've been having connection problems with Mail. First, it stops downloading new mail automatically and second, it won't send any of my messages. When I try to send, I get a message that it is unable to connect.
Quitting Mail and restarting it seems to clear the problem, but then it happens again, maybe an hour or two later.1. This procedure is a diagnostic test. It changes nothing, for better or worse, and therefore will not, in itself, solve the problem. But with the aid of the test results, the solution may take a few minutes, instead of hours or days.
Don't be put off merely by the seeming complexity of these instructions. The process is much less complicated than the description. You do harder tasks with the computer all the time.
2. If you don't already have a current backup, back up all data before doing anything else. The backup is necessary on general principle, not because of anything in the test procedure. Backup is always a must, and when you're having any kind of trouble with the computer, you may be at higher than usual risk of losing data, whether you follow these instructions or not.
There are ways to back up a computer that isn't fully functional. Ask if you need guidance.
3. Below are instructions to run a UNIX shell script, a type of program. All it does is to collect information about the state of the computer. That information goes nowhere unless you choose to share it. However, you should be cautious about running any kind of program (not just a shell script) at the behest of a stranger. If you have doubts, search this site for other discussions in which this procedure has been followed without any report of ill effects. If you can't satisfy yourself that the instructions are safe, don't follow them. Ask for other options.
Here's a summary of what you need to do, if you choose to proceed:
☞ Copy a line of text in this window to the Clipboard.
☞ Paste into the window of another application.
☞ Wait for the test to run. It usually takes a few minutes.
☞ Paste the results, which will have been copied automatically, back into a reply on this page.
The sequence is: copy, paste, wait, paste again. You don't need to copy a second time. Details follow.
4. You may have started the computer in "safe" mode. Preferably, these steps should be taken in “normal” mode, under the conditions in which the problem is reproduced. If the system is now in safe mode and works well enough in normal mode to run the test, restart as usual. If you can only test in safe mode, do that.
5. If you have more than one user, and the one affected by the problem is not an administrator, then please run the test twice: once while logged in as the affected user, and once as an administrator. The results may be different. The user that is created automatically on a new computer when you start it for the first time is an administrator. If you can't log in as an administrator, test as the affected user. Most personal Macs have only one user, and in that case this section doesn’t apply. Don't log in as root.
6. The script is a single long line, all of which must be selected. You can accomplish this easily by triple-clicking anywhere in the line. The whole line will highlight, though you may not see all of it in the browser window, and you can then copy it. If you try to select the line by dragging across the part you can see, you won't get all of it.

Copy the selected text to the Clipboard by pressing the key combination command-C.
7. Launch the built-in Terminal application in any of the following ways:
☞ Enter the first few letters of its name into a Spotlight search. Select it in the results (it should be at the top.)
☞ In the Finder, select Go ▹ Utilities from the menu bar, or press the key combination shift-command-U. The application is in the folder that opens.
☞ Open LaunchPad. Click Utilities, then Terminal in the icon grid.
Click anywhere in the Terminal window and paste by pressing command-V. The text you pasted should vanish immediately. If it doesn't, press the return key.
8. If you see an error message in the Terminal window such as "Syntax error" or "Event not found," enter
exec bash
and press return. Then paste the script again.
9. If you're logged in as an administrator, you'll be prompted for your login password. Nothing will be displayed when you type it. You will not see the usual dots in place of typed characters. Make sure caps lock is off. Type carefully and then press return. You may get a one-time warning to be careful. If you make three failed attempts to enter the password, the test will run anyway, but it will produce less information. In most cases, the difference is not important. If you don't know the password, or if you prefer not to enter it, press the key combination control-C or just press return three times at the password prompt. Again, the script will still run.
If you're not logged in as an administrator, you won't be prompted for a password. The test will still run. It just won't do anything that requires administrator privileges.
10. The test may take a few minutes to run, depending on how many files you have and the speed of the computer. A computer that's abnormally slow may take longer to run the test. While it's running, there will be nothing in the Terminal window and no indication of progress. Wait for the line
[Process completed]
to appear. If you don't see it within half an hour or so, the test probably won't complete in a reasonable time. In that case, close the Terminal window and report the results. No harm will be done.
11. When the test is complete, quit Terminal. The results will have been copied to the Clipboard automatically. They are not shown in the Terminal window. Please don't copy anything from there. All you have to do is start a reply to this comment and then paste by pressing command-V again.
At the top of the results, there will be a line that begins with the words "Start Time." If you don't see that, but instead see a mass of gibberish, you didn't wait for the "Process completed" message to appear in the Terminal window. Please wait for it and try again.
If any private information, such as your name or email address, appears in the results, anonymize it before posting. Usually that won't be necessary.
12. When you post the results, you might see an error message on the web page: "You have included content in your post that is not permitted," or "You are not authorized to post." That's a bug in the forum software. Please post the test results on Pastebin, then post a link here to the page you created.

I have a strange 3g data problem.
I have a strange 3g data problem. At home I have zero 3G connectivity even though all bars are showing and says "3G" and wifi is "Off" ... unless I am on the phone and then magically the 3G data connection works perfectly!! Does anyone have any idea what is happening? Also when I bring my phone to my dad's or my friends house the problem disappears!! Is this a hardware or a AT&T network problem? os is 4.3.3
Also called ATT and they said there was no problem with the network and that it was a hardware issue. Also restored the phone several times but the problem did not go away.OK, no trouble shooting. The first thing I'd attempt is restarting in Safe Mode. If you still don't have luck try doing both a SMC and PRAM reset, it wouldn't hurt to do the SMC reset a couple of times. If still no luck let us know.
SMC RESET
Shut down the computer.
Unplug the computer's power cord and all peripherals.
Press and hold the power button for 5 seconds.
Release the power button.
Attach the computers power cable.
Press the power button to turn on the computer.
PRAM RESET
Shut down the computer.
Locate the following keys on the keyboard: Command, Option, P, and R. You will need to hold these keys down simultaneously in step 4.
Turn on the computer.
Press and hold the Command-Option-P-R keys. You must press this key combination before the gray screen appears.
Hold the keys down until the computer restarts and you hear the startup sound for the second time.
Release the keys. -
Connection problem after firmware update 7.5.2
Until I update 7.5.2, my Airport Extreme station worked fine. But now every time my computer starts it fails to connect to the station. I have to recreate à new connection on my MBP or I have to disable and enable Airport repeatedly to establish a connection. (No connecting problems with my Iphone, but same problem with another MBP).
Need some help, thanksThe question of which channel to use is very dependent upon your environment. Probably the #1 item to work through is finding a channel that is relatively free of other interference. This is especially true of the 2.4 GHz band (802.11 b/g) which has been used for quite a few applications. This includes:
- Other WiFi base Stations
- Bluetooth devices
- Microwave Ovens
- Some Cordless phones.
In the case of Cordless Phones and other Base stations, these can often be from your neighbors, so you may have to use trial and error to find a channel.
In my particular case, all of the devices which were failing were trying to use the 2.4 GHz band on 802.11 b/g. When it was set to "Automatic" the Base Station software indicated that my base station was using Channel 1. I just set it to Manual and selected Channel 3 and things started working for me. (Since it required me to make a selection for the 5 GHz band, I whose Channel 48 for that)
The key in any situation is to find one not in use by other devices. Normally, selection of "Automatic" allows the Base station to make this choice by listening when it is not broadcasting and trying to sense other items on the same channel. However, this doesn't always work 100% because your end device (like your PC) may be closer to the other source of interference and it can "hear" transmissions that the base station cannot.
What I find strange is that this inability to select a free channel appears to have been triggered by the firmware upgrade, so perhaps there is something in this new firmware which doesn't do as good of a job of finding the clear channel to use.
