JDev 9i download not resumable

The Jdev 9i download only seems to be available as a non-resumable HTTP download.
I need download it over a modem link, but there isn't any point starting because if the modem link goes down I'll have to start all over again - I'll never get to the end of a 65 MB download successfully.
When I downloaded the RC2 it was available as FTP, and I used Linux prozgui to set up a restartable download - sure it took me a couple of sessions, but because it was restartable I got there in the end.
Can you please make Jdev available as a restartable FTP download.
Thanks very much,
James

Indeed. It was a bit disappointing to get all the way through the bloody install to Disk 3 only to find that it was corrupted:

  • HT202159 Mountain Lion download not resuming

I tried to download Mountain Lion with the free up-to-date program but was interrupted. I tried to download again the next day but got this message: "The product distribution file could not be verified. It may be damaged or was not signed."

Quit the App Store if it's open.
Open the Finder. From the Finder menu bar top of your screen click Go > Go to Folder
Type this exactly as you see it here:
    /Library/Preferences/SystemConfiguration
    Click Go
Move the NetworkInterfaces.plist file from the SystemConfiguration folder to the Trash.
Relaunch the App Store and try downloading Mountain Lion.

  • ITunes upgrade download will not resume

Since the beginning iTunes has had one glaring failure in the upgrades. The downloads will not resume. I cannot even pause without it starting from scratch. Torrent technology is old stuff. But evidently too new for iTunes.
For testing do what the pirate sites do - unplug the connection, crash the OS, reboot, etc in the middle of a download. If it is corrupted you are doing it wrong. It should resume with minimal loss of packets. NOT start all over again.

It might also be worth submitting feedback via this form:

  • Downloaded application from internet are not resuming aft OS restart.

I am downloaded one antivirus from internet.
It started downloading the latest defination and while downloading I restared the OS.... So I believe it should also resume as it is an OS feature ?right
My 2nd que is if it is not resuming then this should be a bug of OS or that application.

First of all, I do not think it is healthy for your machine in any way to start a process like you are describing and then just shut the machine off. After doing some tests, your machine should require you to close/stop the processes/applications after selecting to shutdown/restart your machine. Once you turn the machine back on it reopens the application/process that was opened prior to shutting down/restarting. However, I don't think it will resume with the process where you left off, but then again I really didn't test that part out.
For all intended purposes, Apple says that 'Resume' is basically a feature that allows you to not lose what you are currently doing within an App. in regards to having it open and then having to restart your machine because a software update requires you to.

  • HT202159 Mountain Lion will not resume download

I have tried to download Mountain Lion multiple times and it will continuously pause and now will not resume.

If you properly pause the download, it should be able to resume without any problem.
When I downloaded Mountain Lion, I paused and resumed hours later without any problem. But when it reached 95% of the download, my internet connection dropped for like 1 minute, and when it came back, the download restarted from zero.
So as long as the internet connection is not dropping during the download, you should be able to resume.

  • Cannot get lion to complete download before pausing.  It will not resume.  Go back to app store.  Install. Get same result. Help?

I have attempted to download Lion multiple times.  Somehow it pauses during download and will not resume.   I begin again at App Store.  Start the install over.  I have attempted this numerous times without success.  Not sure why I cannot get the download to resume and I don't know why it pauses to begin.  Estimated time to download....6.5 hours  UGH.  Help?

Your system should be OK. I suspect the issue may be with your Comcast service. Have you tried downloading anything else, for example navigate to 10.6.8 Update Combo and see if you can download that OK. If that works OK then you can go to the Mac App Store and navigate through their Support. You can find a link to that in the Mac App Store Quick Links.
The problem is we don't know where the problem is. One thing   you can also do is find a free app on the Mac App Store and see if it will download OK. If it does then you should contact AppleCare or visit your local Apple Store or AASP for some help.

  • Premier Pro 5.5 - Sound will not resume after pausing video - HELP PLEASE !

    Hi everyone.
I have a co-worker that is having a very strange problem. After he pauses a video and tries to restart it, video works fine but the sound will not resume. This doesn't happen all the time but it does happen often.
    Please help.
    Here is the system specs:
    MacPro 2.6 Xeon
    8 GB RAM
    Kona Capture card
    OSX 10.6
    Thanks for you contribution.
    JC.

    Hi Todd.
I just finished running all the updates for adobe and it did not find any updates for Premier Pro, so the current version I have is 5.5. I'm going to check to see if there is any update I can download from Adobe that is not been detected by adobe updater so I can upgrade to Premier 5.5.1.
    Thanks Todd.

  • Why does download pause/resume actually restart?

Windows iTunes download pause/resume doesn't actually resume but rather restarts the download.
Would have been nice to know before actually pausing a 60 minute download.
Why is the feature called pause/resume? It is not the behavior.

I just wanted to provide some additional information.
This problem only occurs when the source package is located in a folder on a system over the network.  The other admin here performed the same test from his system and is getting the same results.  That is, when attempting to install a package which is located in a network folder then the package will indicate that the client system requires a restart.
If I copy the package from the network folder to my iMac it will want to install correctly and will not require a restart of the client.
A work around is for each admin to have and maintain a duplicate set of packages.  Typically we have used a network folder for all of the Apple install packages.  This problem started occuring in the last month or so, no idea why at this point.

  • Download My Resume from my .mac site

I would like people to be able to download my resume from my site on .mac. I checked the question a few threads down and see how to link it to my computer, but my computer is not always on. Need it be? Would I have to "store" my resume somewhere else?
    Thanks in advance.

To add a text hyperlink to your iWeb site you would create a text box and type in, say, "My Resume" - that will be the text you'll turn into a hyperlink. iWeb's Help Viewer explains the rest...
    Adding a text hyperlink
You can create a text hyperlink that opens a webpage or a new email message, or downloads a file.
To add a text hyperlink using the Link Inspector:
Select the text you want to turn into a hyperlink.
If the Link Inspector isn't open, click Inspector in the toolbar (or choose View > Show Inspector), and then click the Link Inspector button.
In the Link Inspector, select "Enable as a hyperlink," and then choose an option from the Link To pop-up menu:
One of My Pages: Opens another page in any of your iWeb websites. Choose the page from the Page pop-up menu.
An External Page: Opens any webpage for which you know thethe website address. Type the address in the URL field.
A File: Downloads a file to the visitor's computer. (The file is part of your website; visitors won't have access to your computer.)
An Email Message: Opens a new email message containing the email address and subject you specify.

  • Can I cancel a Mac App Store download and resume later?

Can I cancel a Mac App Store download and resume later?

It is not recommended, once you start a download you should always let it complete the function. If you need to stop the download it may show the icon for the application even though you cancel it. It may or may not let you attempt to try to download the application a 2nd time.
