Jdevelop 10g production, linux , bc4j and cvs

I have a problem with redhat 9, if i try to check out bc4j from the cvs (not scm, the one that comes with linux)
The association end(s) do not specify an attribute
yet when they are checked out in Windows Xp this error does not appear.
They have been checked in originally with Windows Xp, is this a setup issue with jdeveloper on redhat as the attributes are clearly visible in the xml file. This happened with the preview as well but not with 9i

Try closing the Project and reopening it and see if that makes it pick up the changes.

    Hi,
That is definitely a product manager - positioning question (forum ID: oalonso), so I'd recommend that you ask the same question in the SES forum. The Text team has been monitoring that forum and answering most of the posts there, so you'd probably be more likely to get your question answered.

  • Problem downloading JDeveloper 10g production!

    Hi!
It seems to me I can't download Oracle JDeveloper 10g production. When I click on a download link on the main JDeveloper page on otn.oracle.com, I'm redirected to a questionnaire with a download button at the bottom of the page. But when I click that button I get 'the page cannot be displayed' error.
It seems that I'm being redirected to some http://www-portal.oracle.com:7779/.... server, but it doesn't respond.
Is there alternate download link that is working?
    Thanks in advance,
    Alexey.

Sorry for that, it should work now from the JDeveloper home page.

  • JDeveloper 10g production, status JHeadstart?

    Dear all,
As is mentioned on the JDeveloper site, 10g is finally in production (version 9.0.5.1, build 1605).
Does this have impact on the JHeadstart release?
Is the latest JHeadstart release already working with this version?
    Thanks in advance,
    Ralph Deguelle

    Ralph and others,
At this moment JHeadstart 10g (9.0.4.5) is not yet certified against the JDeveloper 10g (9.0.5.1) production release. Of course we plan to certify as soon as possible. Our target release date for this certification is the 29th of April. The version number for this JHeadstart 10g release will be the same as for JDeveloper: 9.5.0.1. We will publish this release on the supplement option folder for the license holders and on OTN for people that want to evaluate JHeadstart. For a list of planned new features see below.

  • BC4J and CVS

When I update an BC4J component's XML file It's not updated. This can be v. dangerous e.g. Developer A working on a project, meanwhile Developer B remove a column from an entity object and commits it's work. Developer A run update to include Developer B's changes in its version. But Entity Object in A is not get updated properly and when Developer A commits it's work, the column that developer B had removed appears again.

    Hi,
At the moment, the architecture of JDeveloper is that the SCM support is a completely separate and distinct module from BC4J. Because of this, there is no special awareness in the SCM support about BC4J and dependencies between files it uses, so there's no way it can automatically check files out when the BC4J design time needs to update them. For the user, this is somewhat inconvenient: the user must anticipate what BC4J is going to change and check those files out in advance. We recognize this as a usability problem that needs to be resolved.
We are hoping to provide better integration with components of the IDE by providing an interface to the version system through the extension API in the IDE. However, adopting this in the main areas of the IDE (such as BC4J) will involve a significant investment of time and this is unlikely to be completed for the next (9.0.3) release. We are targetting this improved integration for a future release of the IDE (possibly the 9.0.4 or 9.2 release).
    Thanks,
    Brian

So I try to test one of my old application with this configuration. After Jdeveloper migrated my workspace and projects and business componenet
to the newer version, I run the application generator. It worked fine without any problem but after running the application, I got an error page showing
that my bc4j.xcfg is not in the path.
On the other hand, I found out that when I wanted to view my UIX pages, 2 dialog boxes appeared. The first one asked to upgrade
to UIX 2.2's new expression language syntax and the other which is on the top of the first one, showing that UIX runtime failed to render the page
    with following detail :

I think that I should have set some setting before use JHeadstart with JDeveloper.
    Could anybody help me ?

    Alex,
The document Sandra referred to applies to JDeveloper 10g preview (9.0.5.0). JHeadstart 9.0.4.5 will NOT work with JDeveloper 109 production (9.0.5.1).
We plan to release a new version end of april that is compatible with 9.0.5.1. See this thread for more info: JDeveloper 10g production, status JHeadstart?

  • UIX table tag's attribute VALUE is missing in jdev 10g production

In JDeveloper 10g preview, I handled my table's navigation manually and need to set the table's tag attribute VALUE in order to keep the record range.
However, when i convert my project to JDeveloper 10g Production, eventhought the page is still working fine, but in the design windows will show that the uix page is in invalid state and I found that the attribute VALUE is no more supported.
Could anyone please help me and let me know how do i set back my record range? Thanks!

It turns out that you're running into a bug that will be fixed in the soon to be released version of JDev 10g. The good news is that it's a design time bug, so your pages will still work at runtime. You can even fix the bug yourself if you want. In JDEV_HOME\jlib there is uix2-schemas.zip. Inside of that is ui/table.xsd.
Add the below attribute definition inside of the complex type for the table, and you should be all set.
    <attribute name="value" type="ui:unsignedIntExpressionType" default="1"/>
    Hope this helps,
    Ryan Pollock

  • Classroom Courses for JDeveloper 10g

I'd like you all to know that the first teaching events for our JDeveloper 10g production courses are now scheduled. You can register for the new "Java Programming" course (May 17-21 in Mississauga, Canada) and the "Build Applications with ADF" course (May 24-28 in Reston, VA).
These first production teaches are "proving" events; a regular schedule at various global locations will follow, after these events are completed. But the above events are an early chance to grab a full week of training.

Also I have tried for two days to make the Java Portlet Wizard work with 10G with no luck. Why are they posting somehting that doesn't work? This is really frustrating.
