JDeveloper 10.1.2.0.0 JDK 1.5 support

Hi all!<br>
Does JDeveloper 10.1.2.0.0 support projects using JDK 1.5?<br>
Regards,<br>
Matthias

Hi all,
I've tried setting up Jdeveloper 10.1.2 to use JDK 1.5 but keep getting the following error when building.
Error: initialization error: class file has wrong version 49.0, should be 45.3 or 46.0 or 47.0 or 48.0 ....
Does anyone have a workaround for this kind of issue?

I am worrying about this message
"Could not canonicalize '%C:\Java\jdk1.5.0_09\bin' (The filename, directory name, or volume label syntax is incorrect). From system property java.library.path. "
    Environment :
i am using Win Xp and i have stetted environment variable JAVA_HOME=C:\Java\jdk1.5.0_09\bin'

    thanks Ric,
I set the user environment varilable; like this.
JAVA_HOME = C:\Java\jdk1.5.0_09 and i added bin directory with path directory.
    path=%JAVA_HOME%\bin;
The reason i mention about java home. The jdeveloper log shows the message
"Could not canonicalize '%C:\Java\jdk1.5.0_09\bin' (The filename, directory name, or volume label syntax is incorrect). From system property java.library.path."
what i wonder how it refer "C:\Java\jdk1.5.0_09\bin" ? jdeveloper has it's own java compiler.
    i checked your suggestion.
Tool --> Embed OC4J Preferences --> java compiler
    Compiler : ojc
    Bin : jdev bin
i tried other settings it does not work me.
Actually what is saying to us through this message.
"Could not canonicalize '%C:\Java\jdk1.5.0_09\bin' (The filename, directory name, or volume label syntax is incorrect). From system property java.library.path."

  • Jdeveloper 10g 10.1.3.3 jdk 1.5.0_22 - shows empty main frame

    Hi,
Jdeveloper 10g 10.1.3.3 (OAF) with jdk 1.5.0_22 shows empty main frame
without any controls. But if I click on that frame in chaotic order the header text of main frame
is changing. It seems like controls are exists, but not visible.
If I use jdk 1.6 JDeveloper gives the next message
The version of JDeveloper is certified on JDK 1.5.0. You are attempting to run on JDK 1.6.0. JDeveloper may not run correctly on this version of JDK.
    What is going wrong?

As you are using OAF you better ask this in the {forum:id=210} forum

  • JDeveloper 9.0.5.2 and JDK 1.5

    Hello all,
Af far as I can see, JDeveloper 9.0.5.2 seems not to be able to work with JDK version 1.5 (Java 5). The new version of JBuilder is already able to do this. Can anyone tell me which version of JDeveloper will support JDK 1.5 and where I can find information about this.
    Kind regards,
    Ronald

The next major version of JDeveloper will have JSK 1.5 support.
    Meanwhile this thread:
    Jdev 10g and J2sdk1.5.0 beta
Explains how you can hack a 1.5 support in the current version.

  • JDeveloper 10.1.2 certified for JDK 1.5?

    Hi there,
I just wanted to find out if JDeveloper 10.1.2 is certified for JDK 1.5? I have to be able to host Java/JSP code with Generics and our servers are running JDK 1.4 ... would help to know this information.
    Thanks!

If you want to develop with JDK 1.5 you should use JDeveloper 10.1.3.
The tricky part is that OAS 10.1.2 doesn't support JDK 1.5 - to fix this you can install an OC4J 10.1.3 that will be managed by OAS 10.1.2.
    Details are here:

  • Oracle JDeveloper 10.1.2 with newer JDK on Windows

    Hi,
I had jdk 1.4.2 installed on my Windows XP machine, and had developed applications using JDeveloper 10.1.2.
I'm upgrading to Windows 7, and my question is whether I can install a higher version of JDK (say 6.0) on my machine, and also download a complete installation of JDeveloper 10.1.2, so that I can refer to the SDK version 1.4.2 that comes with the JDeveloper installation?
Or is it required that I should have jdk 1.4.2 installed on my Windows 7 to work with applications that I developed using JDeveloper 10.1.2?
    Any help appreciated.
    Thanks!

You should be able to do what you want (install JDK 6 and then use the inbuilt JDK 1.4.2 with the old JDev).
The problem you may likely have is that JDev 10.1.2 is so old as to be unsupported on Windows 7 - if I recall correctly, it's not even supported on Vista. You may need to use XP mode of Windows 7 or some other virtualisation technology to get the older Jdev working.

  • Jdeveloper 11g - JAX-RPC 1.1 method is not supported in WLS 8.1 clients.

    Hi,
I am using Jdeveloper 11g and migrating a web Service Proxy created using jdeveloper 10g.
I imported all the proxy classes and when I try to run web service client In Jdeveloper 11g I get the following error
"JAX-RPC 1.1 method is not supported in WLS 8.1 clients. If you are attempting to run an OC4J 10.1.3 JAX-RPC client in WLS, please see the Web Service Migration Guide for instructions."
Please advise on how to solve this?
which is the offending jar/library file in Jdeveloper 11g which is causing the above error?.
Is the above problem there in the WebLogic Server Runtime also?
    Please let me know.
    2) I cannot generate web server proxies also with jdev11g because the wsdl has overloaded methods omitting the name property within the input and output message, ie, they have a null name. therefore Jdeveloper 11g is using the library which
when called with an overloaded operation that contains null input/output message names, a duplicate error occurs because it sees other operations with the same name. so it is effectively not allowing to create the web service proxies.
    Thanks,
Appreciate your quick response to the above

Have you checked the 'Web Service Migration Guide' mentioned in the error message?

  • JDK/JRE Version support for Oracle Lite

    Hi,
We have developed an application using jdk 1.4.x which also using Oracle9i Lite 5.0.2 release as a database. Application behaves normal except while closing it throws java exception (Exceptio Guard Page Exception) error.
Is it because of the JDK Version we are using? What is the JDK/JRE version level supported by Oracle Lite.
    Thanks
    Krishna

    Right
I got the same problem too.
When my program and oracle 9i lite is running under JRE1.3.1, everything is ok.
However, when i migrate the jre to 1.4.x, the program must fail and report DLL exception after closing.
    So trouble~!

  • Does JDK 1.5 support hugepages on Linux

JRockit JVM has the facility by which it uses hugepages if available to store its heap within the Linux kernel. I am trying to find a similar facility within Sun's JDK 1.5. Any clues?
    Thanks
    rh

The JDK has had large page support on Solaris for many releases but it is relatively new on Linux. There are a few issues with some older kernels and the feature is disabled by default. The -XX:+UseLargePage option is used to enable it. To use this option you need to be using 5.0u5 (just released), or a mustang (Java SE 6.0) build.

  • Which JDK is JSF supported for?

Is JSF Supported for JDK 1.3.1_03?

I think it's more of a J2EE SDK support issue and I think (but am not sure) you need J2EE1.4.
You may want to try this question on the Sun Java Studio Creator forum:
    http://swforum.sun.com/jive/forum.jspa?forumID=123
Probably not the most appropriate forum, but more correct than this forum which is focused on the Sun Web Application Framework (JATO).

  • JDK 1.6 Supported Regular Expression Optimizations

    Hi all,
Thanks in advance for your help.
I'm reading Mastering Regular Expressions my Jeffrey Friedl. In Chapter6, the author discusses many regex engine optimizations that are out there. Is there a complete list of these optimizations that are supported by the latest version of JDK 1.6?

  • Jdk 1.4 support for websphere studio 5.1

I am using Websphere application studio version 5.1 which uses jdk1.3 and not 1.4. My project requirement forces me to use jdk 1.4 swing components as 1.4 swing version has lot more than that of 1.3 (for e.g. masking for input field and lot more). Does anyone have an idea how can i use 1.4 (at least swing) into websphere application studio 5.1 (which uses jdk 1.3)?? or does anyone know how can i point/force websphere studio to use jdk version 1.4?
I would highly appreciate any pointers/reference material or anything like that.
    Thanks,
    Vicky

    mriyer,
The Windows binaries in 2.3.10 were built using JDK 1.5 and did not use a -target 1.4 flag. You did the right thing by rebuilding.

  • JDK 1.3 support and US DST tz db updates

    Sun support,
Please point me to your official statement on whether or not you support JDK 1.3 any more - last I remember you said JDK 1.3 was going to be end-of-life'ed once Java 6 is released - well, you've done it - please supply us with your official word.
Regarding US DST changes for 2007 (as described here http://java.sun.com/developer/technicalArticles/Intl/USDST/) - can you clarify which JDKs can be updated with the tzupdater tool - does this apply to ALL 1.4 and later JDK releases ? What is the target file that is updated by this tool and is it possible to share this file among JDK/JRE distributions (eg via a symlink to a common location) ?
    Many thanks
    Bernard Cena

what about the special forums for JDK or JRE questions?
Or a simple search of the site would have provided you with the information you need inside the space of a few minutes, rather than needing days to wait for answers to forum questions which will likely just tell you to look on the site.
There was an article about this on the frontpage just a short while ago as well, listing every release that's compatible.
