Jdeveloper 10.1.3 and Jheadstart 10.1.3

Hi;
I'm using Jdeveloper 10.1.2 and jheadstart 10.1.2.32 and mp pages ar designed with UIX
If i upgrade my jdeveleoper version from 10.1.2 to 10.1.3 , likewise must I upgrade jdeveloper to 10.1.3, will uix pages run orderly?
I have some problem with 10.1.2 may be a bug, it is possible find solution with this version?
Best regards

If you have generated your pages with JHS 10.1.2, you can open the workspace in JDeveloper 10.1.3 with JHS 10.1.3 and regenerate the pages in JSF. Post any more specific questions to the JHeadstart forum here on OTN for the most accurate answers.

  • JDeveloper 9.0.3 and JDK 1.4.1

    Hi
I remember that you couldn't use JDeveloper 9.0.2 with Java 1.4 - the menus, buttons, some windows wouldn't appear. In order to build my application with Java 1.4 I had to have both installed on my system: 1.3.1 to run JDeveloper and 1.4.0 to build.
Just for a test I have installed JDeveloper 9.0.3 and pointed it to JDK 1.4.1. It seems to work. I know that JDeveloper 9.0.3 has been certified with 1.3.1.02 only but it works for me and my servlet application with the latest JDK.
I wonder if others use 9.0.3 with JDK 1.4.x. If yes - did you run into problems?
    Thanks
    Witold

I am also having touble with running a JDBC application when I set JDeveloper(9.0.3) to JRE 1.4.1. I get an exception from the "setDate"(not defined in JRE 1.3.1) of the "CallableStatement".
    Actual exception follows:
    "java.lang.AbstractMethodError: oracle.jdbc.driver.OracleCallableStatement.setDate(Ljava/lang/String;Ljava/sql/Date;)V"
    any ideas?
    Thx.

  • JDeveloper 9.0.3 and Oracle Database 10g

I currently support a project using JDeveloper 9.0.3, and the client is mandating that we upgrade our database to 10g. Am I going to be required to upgrade to JDeveloper 10g, too? Or is JDeveloper 9.0.3 compatible with a 10g database?
    Thanks for your help!

Oracle JDeveloper 9.0.3 may be used with Oracle database 10g.

HI, ABI, I found your error.
I was the same error, the problem is that the library adf-faces-impl-ea12.jar is located in your project
so, just remove it, you now are using
    adf-faces-impl-ea15.jar.

  • Authentificaton - JDBC realm & Form Based in Jdeveloper 10.1.3 and OCJ4

    Dear Partners:
Being new working with Jdeveloper 10.1.3 and embedded OC4J,
I'm migrating an application from Tomcat and trying to
setup authentication for my JSP pages: JDBC realm and Form Based.
I succeeded only adding the security constraint to
the application's server.xml file, and creating the
user and user's roles tables. Yet, I got lost
by using the Jdeveloper's menu option Tools->OC4J embedded
    OC4J server preferences.
Any documentation or examples are appreciated.
    Thank you.

  • Separate BC4J and JHeadStart in two projects.

    Hello,
Is it possible to separate the BC4J components in a different project (in the same workspace)?
I would like to have 1 project containing all the BC4J components and 1 project for the JHeadStart software. But when I do this JAG gives a error it can't find the persistenceBase in the SourceDir.
I found out that the problem is de property "Source Directory" I have to set in the Application Structure Editor. JAG uses this directory to find the BC4J components.
I also try to change this to the source directory of the BC4J project. But this also keep giving Errors. (bc4j.xml not found in bc4jDir ....)
    I'm using JDeveloper 9.0.3.

    Dennis,
Sorry to say but JHeadstart is not setup with this requirement in mind. As you found out, you cannot put your BC4J components in another projects.

Over here I'm using JDev 902 and I think I had a similar problem (not specifically related to JHeadstart though). In short, I'm almost certain that it has something to do with the different versions of xmlparserv2.jar that are available. Or, at least.. I think that was the case over here. After I correctly used the jars listed here: http://otn.oracle.com/products/jdev/howtos/appservers/deploy_bc4j_to_iplanet.html#update_classpath the NoSuchMethodException disappeared.
I must stress out that the NoSuchMethodException I had might not be related to yours, but I know for a fact that before I made sure I was using all the correct jars, I was in fact using a different (and maybe incorrect) version of the xmlparserv2.jar

  • Shuttling and Jheadstart

Jheadstart has the shuttling but I was wondering if we can develop shuttling using Jdeveloper without Jheadstart.
I don't know much about Jheadstart and not sure at deployment time, the app that is created from using Jheadstart can be deployed to the 10G App Server. I downloaded and used it yesterday and I tell you it is impressive but what is generated at the end?
If you have used Jheadstart, would you provide me a quick explanation of what happens with the code at deployment time.
Perhaps I'll move to Jheadstart usage if the final product to be deployed is Java, HTML, or Java Script and it can be deployed in a none-Client Server and none-Applet situation just like JSP using ADF/Struts.
Any answer to this would be greatly appreciate it.
    Kamran

OraFormsFaces is a separate product, provided by Commit Consulting:
    http://www.commit-consulting.com/oraformsfaces/
It is NOT included in the JHeadstart package.
The geenrated code is not complex at all because ...... no Java code is generated.
JHeadstart Forms2ADF does NOT convert PL/SQL, see the Developers guide for more info, and this post:
WHY - give workable examples of using JHeadstart to convert forms into ADF.

  • What Validation is best in 10.1.3 and Jheadstart 10.1.3

    Hi ,
We are having some 900 pages built in ADF UIX using JHEADSTART 10.1.2 using Model/ViewController.Now we are planning to migrate to 10.1.3 where ADF UIX will not be supported.Even struts controller will not be supported.
    Project Structure
1.View Controller UIX Base - How to migrate ?.
    2.Struts Controller - How to migrate ?.
    3.Model - How to migrate ?.
4.We have lot of javascript validation on UIX page.?
    My Search
    1.Install Jdev 10.1.3
2.Install evaluation version of Jheadstrart 10.1.3 on Jdev 10.1.3
3.Open the project built in 10.1.2 , it will prompt for Migration Dialog , I clicked
    "Yes".
4.It gave some error about Model.jpr migration , click ok.? is it serious ?
5.Right Click UIX page and Click Migrate UIX to JSF.It converted .uix extension to jspx ,but commented all the code.
I would appreacite,if you can say ur best possible solution for this.
    Thanks,
    Saiyed

If you are using JHeadstart you should post this question on the JHeadstart forum:
    http://forums.oracle.com/forums/category.jspa?categoryID=19
From the JDeveloper perspective - we still support Struts as a controller in 10.1.3.
We also have an extension that does migration of UIX to ADF Faces - you can get it from the check for update.
    Model layer should migrate.

  • JDeveloper 9i, Foreign Keys and LOVs.

    Greetings all,
I'm using Jdev 9i to try and create some maintenance applications quickly. These applications are pretty standard; insert, update, delete, some validation, including foreign keys.
The problem is, I can't figure out how to get JDev to generate the JSPs with LOV pages on the foreign keys.
I've tried setting the validation properties of the entity object to validate from a query, as well as, tried using View objects for the same validation. Neither get me results.
I've also tried embedding the LOV directly using the LOVInputSelect (or whatever it is called). That works partially by displaying a field and a button, but when I click on it, I get an error with no explanation. Very helpful.
I can use a InputSelect datatag, but it is not the best choice for foreign keys with hundreds of values.
Also, since the Wizards are generating the DataEdit tag for the JSP I'm using, it appears that I cannot override them to display the LOV. They display a Calendar page for dates, automatically, but won't display an LOV for referential integrity. At least, I can't figure out how to make them.
    Thanks in advance.
    Ed Dana
    Software Developer.

It's really beyond me why Oracle haven't provided a fairly complete set of Renderers (and a bit more BC4J oriented than the one's mentioned in the HOWTO).
    Basically, you have two choices:
1/ develop your own Renderers (make your own conventions with Properties on Entities/ViewObjects) and use InputRender
2/ generate the JSP's yourself using the usual jbo tags (probably again based on some meta data in the properties). You may have to fiddle around a bit with inputselectlov etc.
Again, it's hard for me to understand why Oracle haven't substantially improved their default generated BC4J JSP pages, it looks to me that it is not so hard (compared to some of the other things they're trying to pull off) and gives maximum benefit for the customers.
Alternatively, there is JHeadstart (do a search on otn, you'll find some pointers). It generates lots of screens nicely for you (a la Designer, if you're familiar with that). Some teething problems, but really very productive otherwise. The disadvantage here is that if you want to start to make a few little changes outside what it supports, you're up against a fairly steep learning curve to master UIX and MVC framework. Apparently there's some hope that they will generate to Struts (taglibs & controller, if I understand well) soon.

  • Programming JSP using JDeveloper 10.1.3 and JSTL

    Hello,
I new in JDeveloper. I am creating a web proyect and I am programming a JSP. This JSP includes JSTL 1.1 Core, exactly the next line:
    <%@ taglib uri="http://java.sun.com/jsp/jstl/core" prefix="c"%>
When I compile my proyect, obtain the next error:
    Error: java.lang.NoSuchMethodError: javax.servlet.jsp.tagext.TagAttributeInfo.<init>(Ljava/lang/String;ZLjava/lang/String;ZZ)V
I ensured that this class (javax.servlet.jsp.tagext.TagAttributeInfo) has no that constructor (String, String, boolean) but when I consult the Sun documentation for that class, it is said that the class contain the constructor.
My proyect include the next libraries defined in JDeveloper:
    · J2EE
    · JSTL 1.1
    · Strut Runtime
    · JSTL 1.1 tags
Please, what should I do to do my proyect work?

    Constructor javax.servlet.jsp.tagext.TagAttributeInfo (String, String, boolean)
is not defined. The JSP 2.0 constructor is
    TagAttributeInfo(java.lang.String name,
    boolean required,
    java.lang.String type,
    boolean reqTime,
    boolean fragment)
    Another constructor is
    TagAttributeInfo(java.lang.String name,
    boolean required,
    java.lang.String type,
    boolean reqTime)

  • JDeveloper 11 - Remote Subversion and Uninstall does not cleanup very well

After getting all excited about JDeveloper 11, I found the following issues
    1. Subversion - for the life of me, I could not figure out how to access a remote subversion repository - it seemed to insist that I have a local one
    2. SOA is gone (found that in the release notes)
    3. Uninstall for Windows does not clean up very well, stacks of stuff gets left behind - I expected the entire Middleware directory to disappear

  • Steps to setup JDeveloper 9i to modify and test the iPayment servlets

    Hi,
I am working on modification to iPayments module of EBS Release 11.5.9. We need to modfiy part of code in Paymentech BEP (Back End Payment) servlet.
Could anyone please let me know the steps to setup JDeveloper 9i to modify the servlet code, test and debug the changes from JDeveloper. It would be really helpful if you could point me to some document which has the details of the process.
    Appreciate your help.
    Thanks,
    Navadeep

    Navadeep,
Short answer: I don't have such a document, nor do I know where to find one.
Since most of the people who regularly monitor and post to this forum don't work with the E-Business suite (at least not iPayment) - I don't feel you'll get a good response here. I hope someone can prove me wrong. The best place to find this information is the E-Business Suite forums or perhaps Metalink.
Furthermore, I don't believe that Oracle supports modifying the supplied iPayment servlets. So, I think Metalink is the right place for you to start.

  • Jdeveloper Data Source control and xml file

    Hi
I was wundering if Jdeveloper can parse a xml file and and show the results in a grid for a xml file just like the webservice control.
    like here
    http://www.oracle.com/technology/obe/obe11jdev/11/wsdc/wsdc.htm
    regards

If I'm understanding what you are aiming for then the URL Data Control can do this for XML files if you provide the XML Schema for them.
    See this sample:
