JDeveloper 10.1.3 with SUSE 10.0 halted

I have experience in JDeveloper (10.1.3) with Win2000.
Now I tried to install that sama (10.1.3) to Open SUSE Linux 10.0
Oracle recommends Red Hat Enterprise Linux 3.0.
I did not get JDeveloper to go longer than first mini-screen: "Oracle JDeveloper 10g
Productivity with Choise" and developper stopped.
Have any experience of JDev with SUSE (10.0)?

Java: jdk1.5.0_06
I deleted JDeveloper after earlier message and now downloaded new but without jdk/java.
chmod +x <jdev_install>/BC4J/bin/bc4j2oc4j ´folder/file does not exists.
java -jar oc4j.jar -install announced that somithing is deprecated and
adviced of OC4J administrator password (something).
<jdev_install>/j2ee/home/application-deployments does not exist.
I Increaced full PATH to jdk1.5.0_06/bin: , but not to jdk1.5.0_06:
I started <jdev_install>/jdev/bin/jdev with Nautilus filebrowser + rigth click Open
as Terminal
Asked path to jdk1.5.0_06
and started as in Win2000 (fonts are not suitable)

i dont think so any drawbacks using Jdeveloper with any database.....its a open product ... You can use it with Sybase, MySQL, Oracle etc etc..

We are going for Classic scenarion with MM-SUS .
But at the same time ,customer want Service ( Ext Staff) Procurement as this is one of the major segment in business and with SUS finctionabilty as well, which will be STANDALONE as per SAP standards.
So ,if we are implementing MM-SUS ,then how we can send the to SUS. Do we need to configure EBP-SUS scenario ALSO well with MM-SUS ?

Hi SRM Gurus,
We are going for SRM Classic Scenario with MM-SUS . SRM 7.0 with ECC 6.0 (Ehp4).
Here ECC will be connected to SRM and SUS ,i..e SUS-ECC-SRM.
I learnt that Classic deploymnet supports MM-SUS scenarion. It means that , every document created in ECC or SRM(EBP) need to replicate in other 2 systems. I have concerns about this replication in 2 another systems.
1. PO-S/C in SRM , creats classic PO in ECC Is this PO sends to SUS ?
2. Confirmation-Is Confirmation done in ECC/SUS/SRM replicstes in another 2 systems ?
3. Invoice-Is Invoice done in ECC/SUS/SRM replicstes in another 2 systems ?
Can anyone please confirm /suggest , whether this happnes or not ?

The left side touch of my phone screen was not working. Was not able to type numbers 1, 2 and alphabets Q, W etc.
I repaired with SUS after taking back up with PC companion.
While restoring the backup, i got RESTORE ERROR, and almost everything got restore except few apps and CONTACTS, which is the most important thing in a mobile .
---> TOUCH IS STILL NOT WORKING <----
Guys can i expect some help here ?

SO HERE IS HOW YOU CAN RESTORE YOUR DATA:
Get your Fullbackupdata-Contactfile.
1. First go to your backupfile: (C:\Users\YourUserName\Documents\Sony\Sony PC Companion\SomeNameDependsOnLanguage\
2. Make a Copy of your backup-File (crtl+c, crtl+v)
3. We want to change the file extension, so make sure you see it. If you don't see a .dbk at the end of your file, go in the explorer window in the left upper corner on organise -> Folder and search options. Change to view and then deselect "Hide extensions for known File types"
4. Rename (F2) the file to backup.zip
5. Open the zip with 7zip or something similar.
6. Navigate to Applications\com.sonyericsson.android.contactsimport and get the fullbackupdata file which is lying in this folder.
7. Put this file on your Desktop.
8.Download this jar-File: http://ge.tt/64TJmne/v/0?c
9. Put the .jarFile also on your desktop.
10. Doubleclick the .jar-File. After a few seconds a new file with the name "restore.tar" should show up (If not check if your fullbackupdata-File really has the name "fullbackupdata" and is on the desktop)
11. Open the .tarfile with 7Zip
12. Navigate to restore.tar\apps\com.sonyericsson.android.contactsimport\f\
13. Copy full_backup_vcard.vcf to the Desktop.
If everything worked you're finished, you can open this .vcf File via Windows-contacts -> import or put it directly on your phone and import it there (open Contacts. Settingsbutton -> impot)
If you don't trust my .jar file, you can also download the github-project follow their orders and compile it yourself.

Prapan,
JDev 11g TP4 comes with 11g JDBC drivers, which do not support connecting to any database v 9.0.1 or earlier.
So, back to you... depends upon what you want to do. If you want to write your own code to connect to a database using 11g, get ahold of some JDBC drivers that support 8i and have away. If you're talking about getting the database development stuff (e.g. the embedded SQLDeveloper) to work, you're probably out of luck.
So, please define "configure my oracle jdeveloper 11g preview 4 with oracle 8i database"

JDeveloper 10.1.3 with OA Ext for R12.0.4 error while running tutorial

I have a problem in setting up to run a JDeveloper with R12.0.4 instance. I have tried the correct patch with this as well as I tried the latest patch for 12.0.6 today and I have a problem in setting up and running JDeveloper against the 12.0.4 instance.
When I run say hello world page it errors out with 404. From looking at oc4j debug log, it fails after a call to to "WebRequestUtil.validateContext". The debug deatails from this stage is as below.
Could some one help me to understand what are the different scenarios that would make the WebRequestUtil.validateContext to return the status as "EXPIRED"?
Any help is appreciated.

I think you have used the wrong version of jdeveloper.
To identify the correct jdeveloper to use do the following
1. Login to your Oracle Applications.
2. Select "About the Page" link in the bottom of the page
3. choose "Technology component part" Tab and note down the OA framework version.
Now login to metalink and check the following URL to identify the correct jdeveloper version for that instance.

JDeveloper 10g video problems with Windows Vista

Hi,
I'm using JDev 10g 10.1.3.3 over Windows Vista with Aero active. Since I started using Vista, I have always had problems with JDev. First, the fonts in the JDev panels would mess up and the scrolling would not work well. I made some changes in the way JDev uses the JDK, I don't remember exactly what I did, but I think I made the whole JDev environment to use a newer JDK, which is not engouraged/supported by Oracle. Since then, the scrolling problem was solved. But When I run my app, Aero stops working.
Is there a way to make JDev 10g work perfectly with Vista?
(No, I'm not willing to migrate to 11g, for several reasons, so I need to stick to 10g for now).

I'm testing JDeveloper 10.1.2 business components with mysql or postgresql because my company needs to connect also to these non-oracle DBs. ADF suits our developement needs, in speed and functionalities; anyway to make it our main developement system we need it to be compatible.
I made three tests and they were all disappointing.
At first, I installed MySQL 4.0 on my windows machine. I used the stable Connector/J 3.1
and then MySQL Connector/J 3.0, but in both cases JDeveloper had a strange behaviour: I can make the connection, I can navigate correctly through all tables in the connection-navigator, I see all the column names etc... Anyway, as I try to build a "new Entity Object" from a table, there are no available table properties, like if the table had no columns.
In this forum I only found documentation about rowid problems with mysql, but nothing about Entity Object wizard issues.
Then I switched to PostgreSQL. I installed it locally, so I had to choose the 8.01 since I'm on a windows machine. JDBC driver: postgresql-8.0-310 jdbc3
The developement test phase went ok, it is possible to use this DB just as if it was a Oracle, all the business components wizards works perfectly.
The problem is at runtime, unfortunately. I built a simple datapage on the struts-config diagram and I dragged on it a "read-only table" from the data control palette.
As I run the application, the embedded OC4J immediately returns this error:
oracle.jbo.JboException: JBO-29000: JBO-29000: JBO-29000: JBO-26061: Errore durante lapertura della connessione JDBC.
at oracle.jbo.JboException.<init>(JboException.java:343)
(in english: Error during JDBC connection)
There are no other available JDBC drivers for JVM 1.4x so I see no solution...
I also tried to connect to an older PostgresSQL with its (older) JDBC but I get same the result.
Anyone can help? Is it a JDev 10.1.2 issue?

I'm also doing such tests.
I did not ran into these problems because I created the busisness componentes using an Oracle connection first.
After that, I switched the datatype of the table columns in the entity object to meet the SQL92 criteria ( like changing NUMBER(n) to INTEGER ).
And then, I switched the connection to the postgreSQL or MySQL. This worked fine for me.
But, the other big problem you will face is related to updating records using postgreSQL connection.

JDeveloper installation not working with Java 1.7 Update 11

I am trying to install jDeveloper (11.1.1.6.2) for Fusion Applications Release 4 using Java 1.7 and its failing with a fatal error. I am on Mac Lion Version 10.7.5. Any ideas how to overcome this !?

Help: Connecting JDeveloper 9.0.2 with Oracle9i Lite

I have installed Oracle 9i Lite and then JDeveloper 9 on WinXP Pro machine. When I was trying to create a new connection using Oracle Lite
JDBC 4.0 driver and testing the connection I've got the
following message :
"Unable to find driver oracle.lite.poljdbc.POLJDBCDriver"
After adding a row :
"AddJavaLibFile ../../MOBILE/CLASSES/olitejdbc40.jar"
to <JDEV>/BIN/jdev.conf file this error message disappeared, but I've got a new one:
"no oljdbc40 in java.library.path".
I was trying with
"AddJavaLibPath ../../MOBILE/Sdk/bin"
in the same file (there is a really place where is oljdbc40.dll situated), but this doesn't work.
Please, help me with this problem.

Try replacing
"AddJavaLibPath ../../MOBILE/Sdk/bin"
with
"AddNativeCodePath ../../MOBILE/Sdk/bin"
The AddJavaLibPath directive is for adding a directory to the classpath' AddNativeCodePath adds a directory to the native path.

URGENT! Upgraded from 8i to 9i - could get to 8i w/JDeveloper; now can't with 9i.

We are currently converting from 8i to 9i. I was finally able
to get JDeveloper configured so that I could develop against iFS
on 8i.
I have done the exact same things configuring for 9i but I still
get failed to get ResourcePropertyBundle.
I have done the following:
1. I have edited the JDeveloper.ini file to include the path to
my 9i client bin directory.
2. I have created a new library which has links to the
ifs\settings directory, xmlparserv2.jar, email.jar, release.jar,
repos.jar, servlet.jar, utils.jar, vbjorb.jar, adk.jar, my 9i
jlib directory, bin directory and classes111.zip.
3. I have edited the Java VM Parameters to: -mx50m;-
Djava.library.path=D:\Oracle9i\bin
4. I am using JDK 1.1.8_JDeveloper
5. I have edited my IfsDefault.properties file to include my
service name for the Database URL
6. The service name in #5 above is the same as the one in my
tnsnames.ora file
7. I also have my tnsnames.ora file set up
Doing all of this worked fine with Oracle 8i client and hitting
iFS 1.1 however I get a "failed to get PropertiesResourceBundle"
on 9i.
Can anyone tell me what I am missing?

SQL* Plus not compatible with Suse Linux 10

hi! i am using suse linux 10 and since i lost my sys/ system password i need to restore it using " / as sysdba " to login, but the problem is when i tried to install the sql* plus it says that "it does not support my platform", is there another way i can reset back my system password with out sql* plus? or can anyone guide me in the installation of sql* plus instant client? thanks a lot! :-)

i'm sorry for the confusion. i tried to install sql* plus but running the script to install it gave me an error that "it does not support my platform, it only supports red hat, suse 9.... etc." my os is suse linux 10 (oss) and am using oracle xe... so meaning i just wanted to install sql* plus to have a command-line utility to use " / as sysdba " to reset my sys/ system password. because i can't remember my sys/ system password that's why i can't get in to http://localhost:8080/apex site to change my oracle db. thanks for the reply!
