JDeveloper 10g classpath problem
The source file has:
import javax.mail.*;
import javax.mail.internet.*;
import javax.activation.*;
The error on making is
Error(20,1): cannot access directory javax\mail; verify that directory is reachable from classpath and/or sourcepath
Please what is the answer?
Thanks.
For anybody that has a similar problem, I have fixed it by going to
Project/Project Properties/Profiles/Development/Paths/Additional Classpath
in JDeveloper.
Although JDeveloper will not compile Java classes using the latest release from Sun (5.0), you can surprisingly specify project classpaths to the latest Sun release in the Additional Classpaths and JDeveloper doesn't object.
I put the additional classpaths in my project as:
C:\Sun\AppServer\lib\j2ee.jar;C:\Sun\AppServer\lib\mail.jar
which is what you would set if you compile from a DOS prompt.
Now it recognises all the javax Mail Internet and Mime classes.
It seems Java is not particularly backward or forward compatible and you have to watch out for things from release to release.
PS If you install JDeveloper 10g and mistakenly point it to the latest Sun Java, it is best to de-install (just delete the complete directory tree) and re-install and point it to an earler version. There is an XML initialization file which holds all the paths, but it is a futile task to try to fix it up retrospectively to point to the right places.

JDeveloper 10g - Connection problems
I have start testing with JDeveloper 10g and made a connection to Oracle Lite 9. The Navigator shows the tables but when clicking on a table it returns with an error [POL-5205] column not found. A test with Mysql behaved about the same, it showed the tables but then only loading...
These both connections works with JDeveloper 9.0.3.One step forward. When using the MySQL Connector/J driver com.mysql.jdbc.Driver instead of the older org.gjt.mm.mysql.Driver it now works with MySql.

JDeveloper 10g video problems with Windows Vista
Hi,
I'm using JDev 10g 10.1.3.3 over Windows Vista with Aero active. Since I started using Vista, I have always had problems with JDev. First, the fonts in the JDev panels would mess up and the scrolling would not work well. I made some changes in the way JDev uses the JDK, I don't remember exactly what I did, but I think I made the whole JDev environment to use a newer JDK, which is not engouraged/supported by Oracle. Since then, the scrolling problem was solved. But When I run my app, Aero stops working.
Is there a way to make JDev 10g work perfectly with Vista?
(No, I'm not willing to migrate to 11g, for several reasons, so I need to stick to 10g for now).
Thanks!
Brian

Having run the Jdeveloper for the first time, I realized that Jdeveloper

So I try to test one of my old application with this configuration. After Jdeveloper migrated my workspace and projects and business componenet
to the newer version, I run the application generator. It worked fine without any problem but after running the application, I got an error page showing
that my bc4j.xcfg is not in the path.
On the other hand, I found out that when I wanted to view my UIX pages, 2 dialog boxes appeared. The first one asked to upgrade
to UIX 2.2's new expression language syntax and the other which is on the top of the first one, showing that UIX runtime failed to render the page

Could anybody help me ?Alex,
The document Sandra referred to applies to JDeveloper 10g preview (9.0.5.0). JHeadstart 9.0.4.5 will NOT work with JDeveloper 109 production (9.0.5.1).
We plan to release a new version end of april that is compatible with 9.0.5.1. See this thread for more info: JDeveloper 10g production, status JHeadstart?

Problem creating WebDav connection to review XML schema in JDeveloper 10g
I am trying to review some XML schema and cannot seem to create a WebDav connection. I entered all the relevant info and keep getting the following error :Testing connection...

Unable to connect to WebDav Connection1 (http://localhost:8080/)

when I tried to test the connection. The tips given in the help section didn't work either. Could someone please help me?Thanks for your prompt response.
I had done that before yet, it still doesn't work.
Please, bear with this newbie, for a second.
I think it may be relevant to mention that I am trying to create a connection on my local network.
Had no problems when I try to connect to enterprise manager,or iSQL*plus console, or creating a database connection through Jdeveloper, or even to the HTTP server through the browser. I am using windowsXP platform BTW, if it makes a difference, and Jdeveloper 10g. When I try to create the webDav Connection it still gives me the connection failed error, .....

Problem downloading JDeveloper 10g production!
Hi!
It seems to me I can't download Oracle JDeveloper 10g production. When I click on a download link on the main JDeveloper page on otn.oracle.com, I'm redirected to a questionnaire with a download button at the bottom of the page. But when I click that button I get 'the page cannot be displayed' error.
It seems that I'm being redirected to some http://www-portal.oracle.com:7779/.... server, but it doesn't respond.
Is there alternate download link that is working?
Thanks in advance,
Alexey.Sorry for that, it should work now from the JDeveloper home page.

Problems importing files in JDeveloper 10g
Hi,
I have a project recently migrated to be developed in Oracle JDeveloper 10g (it was former developed in JDev 9), but when recompiling the project, some errors had occurred in import clauses.
There are some classes that are not recursed into a package and, importing them from one class that belongs to a package, it generates an error.
An example of the architecture:
EnderecoPensta
AtualizaEndereco
gov
|_ Curriculo
|_ CurriculoPDF
When adding 'import EnderecoPensta;' to gov.Curriculo, JDeveloper returns an error:"Error(3,22): '.' expected"
Otherwise, it returns: "Error(51,7): class EnderecoPensta not found in class gov.Curriculo"
Could someone help me with this?
Thanks
DiogoOK, so the integrated run-time supports JSP 2.0 and tag files. But what I'm after is support in the design-time components. Specifically, I want to produce a set of user interface components that I can place in the component palette and have rendered in the JSP visual editor.
As far as I can tell (see previous post), jDeveloper's editor doesn't understand JSP 2.0 features. Therefore I suspect that the design-time as a whole doesn't and so I'll have to use regular Java tags for anything that needs to be able to be rendered at design time.
Oh well. Maybe I can write a Java tag implementation that somehow invokes a tag file and just write a simple wrapper taglib specifically for use within jDeveloper at design time.

With Oracle JDeveloper 10g (10.1.3) Developer Preview, I tried to make a simple jsp page as in this tutorial:
http://www.oracle.com/technology/obe/obe9051jdev/visual_jsp/intro_to_visual_jsp.htm
I only added some text then right-clicked file, selected Run. It didn't work:

For a simple stand-alone java application, it worked.
I have sun jdk 1.4.2 on Fedora Core 3.
Don't know if there are similar bug reports, I searched this forum for "10.1.3" but the search page stays like that for ~2 minutes, then stops without showing anything.Hello Frank,
Thank you for your suggestion. I tried that and I got the same error. Looked more careful at it:
Exception java.io.IOException: /my/home/data/opt/jdeveloper/jdev/bin/ojc: cannot execute
I tried to execute it manually:
$ l /my/home/data/opt/jdeveloper/jdev/bin/ojc
-rw-rw-r-- 1 marius marius 1.9k Dec 2 19:20 /my/home/data/opt/jdeveloper/jdev/bin/ojc
$ /my/home/data/opt/jdeveloper/jdev/bin/ojc
bash: /my/home/data/opt/jdeveloper/jdev/bin/ojc: Permission denied
Did
$ chmod a+x /my/home/data/opt/jdeveloper/jdev/bin/ojc
which solved the execution. Now Hello word works.
I got jdeveloper as a .zip archive, which doesn't keep unix permissions. The Linux distribution should be in .tgz archive, it would have avoided this problem.
Thanks! -
ADF is not working in JDeveloper 10g
Hi all,
I've been trying to get ADF to work with JDeveloper 10g but to no avail. I've followed the steps from the following link: http://www.oracle.com/technetwork/developer-tools/jdev/how-to-adf-faces-10gjdev-085657.html
the only thing that i fail to follow is in creating the library. I have only the adf-faces-api.jar and adf-faces-impl.jar but not the share-1_1_18.jar
I do not know whether this is creating the problem as my error message is not helpful.
part of the error msg:

I've been trying to resolve this by creating a new project but once i input adf tags the problem arise again.
Please help. Thanks!
Edited by: 1003893 on May 7, 2013 9:28 PMNow that I've looked at the linked article...
That was showing you how to use a very early version of ADF Faces (a pre-release, in fact) with a very old version of JDeveloper. That document is nearly 9 years old.
Starting with JDeveloper 10.1.3, ADF Faces is "built-in"
And since JDeveloper 10.1.3.x, we have had both the JDeveloper 11.1.1.x and 11.1.2.x series released.
Why are you still using 10.1.2.x? -
How to configure JMS queue on OC4J server. Development in JDeveloper 10G
Hi there,
I have to configure a JMS for an Asynchronous process in my Application which will be running in Oracle 10G Application Server. Development Environment is Oracle JDeveloper 10G.
I am facing a problem on how to configure JMS queue.
Steps Followed are:
in the <JDevloperHome>/j2ee/home/config
1. Made the new queue and connection factory's JMS entry in jms.xml.
2. Specifed the queue in oc4j-connectors.xml.
3. played around with application.xml
and tried all combinations, but the message producer always failed to lookup the queue.
Need help on the steps to follow so that the producer can post the message in the queue.
Also please help how to configure the MDB to listen to the queue.
Thanx and Regards
SubhamIf you were dealing with Oracle 10g app server as opposed to standalone, I might be better able to help you.
One thing though, when you are configuring your MDB in the orion-ejb-jar.xml file, do not forget to specify attribute listener-threads, otherwise no matter how many beans you have in your MDB pool, only one bean will be listening to the queue. Many listener-threads equal to max number of beans in pool.
