JDeveloper 3.0 Download

Is Oracle 8i included in the downloaded software? I have Personal Oracle 8.0.4 at the moment and it seems not to be working with JDeveloper 3.0.

No, Oracle 8i is not included in the JDeveloper download - However, you can download Oracle 8i just as easily.
They are not bundled because it makes it easier for the download process.
Oracle JDeveloper (2.0+) includes
"Java in the Database" features - these
features require the Oracle 8i database (version 8.1.5 with JServer).
Oracle JDeveloper 3.0 enhances the support for Oracle 8i - but again, these features will not work with Oracle 8.0.4

  • Jdeveloper error on downloading resource from portal server from WC Spaces

    Hi All,
I am basically from portal area and have now also started using jdeveloper. I have 11.1.1.7 version and am trying to use it for a roundtrip development for my Webcenter Spaces applications.
A problem has been baffling me for last several days. I installed jdeveloper studio edition, then installed updates for Webcenter extensions.
Then tried to configure it for a Roundtrip development with WC Spaces. So I followed the following document.
Extending the Spaces Application Using JDeveloper - 11g Release 1 (11.1.1.7.0)
In doing that I configured the default space application (designwebcenterspaces) and configured properties with the server.
Then I tried following this piece; i.e., downloading a spaces resource directly into jdeveloper.
Extending the Spaces Application Using JDeveloper - 11g Release 1 (11.1.1.7.0)
On trying to do it, I get a pop-up with following error and no specific application or space.
    Exception getting resources:null
On my jdeveloper, I see this message accompanying it.
    Jul 2, 2013 5:54:21 PM oracle.webcenter.portal.dt.propagation.rest.RESTClient getDocument
    WARNING: null
    Jul 2, 2013 5:55:21 PM oracle.webcenter.portal.dt.propagation.dialogs.DownloadPanel populateResourceNames
    WARNING: Exception getting resources:null
Can someone please help me fix this problem?
    Thanks a lot.

    Recheck the below ones,
Be sure the configuration properties and permissions are set properly, as described in Section 55.3.3, "Enabling Direct Uploads to the Spaces Application." See also Section 55.2.3.2, "Setting Build and Deployment Options (config.properties)."
and make sure server is up and running

  • JDeveloper for Mac Download Error

The Mac JDeveloper download just loads the gz file into a webpage
and does not invoke download manager. Is there an issue here? I
posted this problem 10 days ago but have not recieved a response
yet. This is still happening. Thanks,
    Kathy Myers

Thanks Mark. Only all of your other otn downloads work fine
on this same computer / webbrowser.
The Mac JDeveloper download is different. I'm not sure saving
the contents of the webpage to a file will work. It never seems
to quit loading the page, so I'm not sure when it's OK to save
    the data to a file.

  • Unable to download JDeveloper 9i/10g

I'm having problems downloading the JDeveloper 9i/10g. It seems that the following download links are dead:
    JDeveloper 9i
    http://download-west.oracle.com/otn/java/jdeveloper/9041/jdev904_base.zip
    JDeveloper 10g
    http://www.oracle.com/technology/software/products/jdev/htdocs/soft10g.html
Error: After accepting the license terms, I'm encountering HTTP 64 Host not available. There are also occasional errors that these are not found in the Oracle site.

Thanks for the reply and assistance! :)
I tried downloading JDeveloper 10g (Version 10.1.2, build 1811) today but again I ended up to an error page (http://www.oracle.com/errors/404.html) after submitting the inquiry form page (http://www.oracle.com/webapps/dialogue/dlgpage.jsp?p_dlg_id=3124088&src=1952635&Act=33).
I followed your tip on clearing my browser's cache but to no avail. I'm using Firefox by the way.
I really want to evaluate JDeveloper for our next project, however inconveniences on downloading the application is not a pleasant experience and will impact our decision on using it.

  • JDBC Data Sources: Potential Issue with JDeveloper 10.1.3.4

I think I found a bug or issue with the latest JDeveloper 10.1.3.4 release when using JDBC Data Sources on the Embedded OC4J container.
To state the issule bluntly, If I use a JDBC Data Source in an ADF Faces application, I get the following error on the screen when I run my application if I create a simple page using a Form layout for database data:

I also tried this on a different computer using a fresh install of JDeveloper just to make sure that the copy of JDeveloper that I downloaded didn't have a fluke in it.
    Thanks!

    M. Ruston,
It must be something on your side. i just tried the same thing using the employees table from the HR sample schema (it has a date column). It works with JDBC URL and datasource both.
Just out of curiosity - if you look at the properties for your Business Components project at the business components section, what does it show for the SQL Flavor and Type Map?

  • Installing jdeveloper online help documents(html) locally ?

I would like to view the jdeveloper help documents outside jdeveloper
how can I install the Jdeveloper online help(http://otn.oracle.com:8877/jdeveloper/help/), locally on my computer?
    cheers
    Russel

    Hi Russel,
The jar files zip that you have downloaded is specifically for use with Oracle Help for Java (OHJ) - running in JDeveloper.
Unfortunately we are not able to provide the equivalent of the HTML on-line version available on OTN for your local machine.
You could try to use the zip file locally but it would not provide a table of contents and many of the links would not work.
Do you hava a specific requirement for a local HTML version of the help? I can pass this on to the Documentation team as an enhancement request.
In the meantime, your choices are to use OHJ within JDeveloper or to download the PDF version.
    Rgds
    Susan

  • Can't download JUNIT extension via "check for updates"

    Hi,
since a few weeks (with jdev 11.1.1.1.0 and jdev 11.1.1.2.0) I can't download e.g. JUNIT extensions via "check for updates".
I have to enter a password but authentication is not possible.
Even when I reset the passord (via "find password") it does not work any more.
Im 100% sure that this worked some time ago without problems.
I can access http://www.oracle.com/technology/products/jdev/101/update/center.xml#oracle.jdeveloper.junit and download the extension manually.
    regards
    Peter

    Peter,
no problems on my side with my account. I did it yesterday without any problem.

  • JDeveloper / ADF

    Infrastructure_
    OAS - Oracle Application Server*

    JDeveloper Version 10.1.2.3.0 (Build 1936)
    Report Builder 10.1.2.3.0
I would like to start working with JDeveloper and ADF, but I would like to know which lastest version for JDeveloper I should download to be able to deploy on the in the currenct OAS.
    Thanks,

I think the 10.1.2 version of JDeveloper that you have can deploy to the OAS 10.1.2 as it is, but I really don't recommend that you use 10.1.2. 10.1.3 has so many good changes that I don't understand why Oracle didn't call it 10.2. See if you can get the application server administrator to upgrade to the 10.1.3.5 libraries and the right JVM for them. The instructions in the library installer are pretty clear. You could ask him/her to create a new OC4J instance for you and install the libraries only in that instance. Deploying to a separate instance from the "home" instance is a good idea anyway.
Of course, for development purposes, JDeveloper 10g comes with an embedded copy of OC4J. Whenever you click "Run", JDeveloper will automatically start its own OC4J (if it isn't already started) on your workstation and deploy to it so that you can test the application. Similarly, JDeveloper 11g comes with a copy of WebLogic Server for testing. This works a little differently, but same effect. You don't need a separate application server until you are ready to open testing to other people.
You can have as many versions of JDeveloper installed as you like. I currently have two copies of 10.1.3.5 - one configured to use ClearCase for source control and the other configured to use Subversion, as well as 11.1.1.4 and 11.1.1.5. For all JDeveloper 10g versions, it is as simple as unzipping the installation file into a new directory, after which you usually will want to create a shortcut to jdeveloper.exe (in Windows) on your desktop. Just use good shortcut and directory names so you know which is which. 11g is a bit more complicated, but doable. You do not need to uninstall other copies.
