Hi Russ,
Did you figure out what was causing this problem? I am having the same issue.
Thanks,

  • Auto-Deployment in weblogic.

    Hi everyone,
Can i know why auto-deploy feature is disabled in production mode in Weblogic.
    Regards,
    Vardhan.

    Hi Vardhan,
Auto deployment is Developers friendly feature in which a Developer can develop an application and can deploy it in the <DOMAIN_HOME>\autodeploy directory and if he wants to make any changes in any of the JSPs or class files it will be reflected immediately. So for testing this kind of feature is most important.
Also Autodeployment is available only for AdminServer So it is not possible to deploy applications on Managed Server using auto deployment. In Productoin environments we donot deploy applications on AdminServer.... because AdminServer is used to just manage the resources on WLS and to monitor them.
But when it comes to the Production environment ...we don't frequently make changes in the application, rather we make different subversions and publish in the SVN repository and after full testing only we place the application on the Production so that's why this "autodeploy" fetaure is disabled in the Production Mode of WebLogic .....because ideally it is not useful there.
For production environments WebLogic has an Uninterrupted deployment feature : http://middlewaremagic.com/weblogic/?p=394

  • Please help me about jdeveloper application deployment for weblogic

At the beginning I just thought after developing an adf application then just deploy it as a .ear file and deploy it in the weblogic console and everything will be ok.But in fact I got a lot of problems. Then I got a tutorial for that and I do what it said step by step but some new problems occured. This is the tutorial I mentioned: [How-To: ADF Deployment Guide|http://www.oracle.com/webfolder/technetwork/jdeveloper/howto/11114/managedserver/wlsadfms.htm]
Now could somebody tell how did you deploy your adf application?
Here is the errors I got.
This is the install packege and the OS I use:
    1. CentOS 6.3_x64 + jdeveloper11123.jar(include wls10.3.5) + adr(package name is ofm_appdev_generic_11.1.1.6.0_disk1_1of1.zip)[and just now I used a solaris11 vm from oracle and install jdeveloper11.1.2.3, the same probem occured as in CentOS.]
    2. Win7_x64 + jdeveoper11123.exe(include wls10.3.5) + adr mentioned above
Here is the problems I get:
in the case 1,after I install the jdeveloper(using sun jdk 1.7), the weblogic seems to be well though I didn't configure a domain. But after I open an
application(which I get from the oracle jdeveloper tutorial demo, which works well in my Win7 env) and I run it, the integrated weblogic can't get
started. Firstly in the console it said the -jrocket identifier is not recognized, then I modify the setDomainEnv.sh and the startWebLogic.sh file in the
integrated wls domain (the one in the .jdeveloper directer) to set the JAVA_VM variable to -server.After that another problem came out: when the
wls goes to status "starting",it is blocked and I turn to the system monitor it shows that a java thread using more than 1GB of memory of my system
and occupy 150% of my cpu(it's a double-core computer). I wait for about 5 minutes when a error came said "PermSize is too small".then I modify the
setDomainEnv.sh file again to set the PermSize to be 1024m and MaxPermSize to be 2048.(the variable name is something like that, maybe not the
exactly right. I think you can understand which one it is.) But the problem is still there.
then in the case 2.Firstly the jdev and the integrated wls works well, but when i deploy an application which works well to a ear file and deploy it to a
standalone wls(10.3.5) it never works.the error is something referrence/dependences libraries is not found. Then I tried to new a server connection to
the standalone wls and I got the tutorial [how_to_deploy_adf|http://www.oracle.com/webfolder/technetwork/jdeveloper/howto/11114/managedserver/wlsadfms.html] , as the tutorial said I patch my standalone
wls with the adr and everything goes ok, no error reported. Then I tried the new server in the new machine under the manage of the adminserver and apply the
adf template in the localhost:port/em console. But after I restart the new server(by the console and then by the stop+startweblogic.bat file) the server is running
while the application in the new server is just "Unavailable". I tried this for three times in three computer, two of them are running win7,the other one is running winxp.
I don't know what is wrong and I am totally a newbie about this. Somebody please help me.Thanks a lot!
    regard,Neo.

    Neo,
there are a couple of problems. First of all, jdev comes with it'S own jdk bundled in the product (jdk 1.6_x). Next thing is if you use JDev 11.1.2.3.0 to build an application you must use a wls 10.3.5 or 10.3.6 where you need to install the correct runtime onto. In your case you first install adf runtime 11.1.1.6.0 and then you need to install two patches which update the adf runtime to 11.1.2.3.0. These spathes are only available via support.oracle.com, meaning you need asupport contract to get them.
More information you can find in my blog http://tompeez.wordpress.com/2011/09/14/jdeveloper-versions-vs-weblogic-server-versions/
The rest of your problems go away once you have installed the right adf runtime on your server.

  • ADF application deployed to Weblogic producing runtime error

    Hi all,
We are trying to deploy a new ADF application built by JDeveloper 11.1.1.5.0 to a standalone weblogic (*version 10.3.1.0*)
The app deploys and runs on integrated wls without any problems, and deploys to the standalone wls without any warnings or errors, but does not run on standalone wls :(
    I checked many possible errors and tried many possible solutions, including, but not limited to;
--> Checked tag references and page components on jsp/jspx pages, deleted unused or possibly unsupported tags from pages and taglibs from ui project (trinidad components 1.2), but still I get the error
--> Using 2 different machines with JDev 11.1.1.5 we created test applications with same tech stack, tag libraries and tag references, deployed to standalone wls and they run without problems (!)
--> Checked web.xml, the file contents and references are the same as of other applications whic are deployed from same environment to the same standalone wls and running without problems (these applications are referenced as "other working applications" following this line)
--> In sessions.xml, the db connection is default, the file includes 2 references <server-platform xsi:type="weblogic-10-platform"/> and <primary-project xsi:type="xml">META-INF/tlMap.xml</primary-project>
--> All projects (Model and view) are cleaned and rebuilt, deployment files are recreated, application ear is recreated, runtime application name and context root name ise changed, but still no luck, I get the same error
--> Project technology stacks are checked and all tech stacks are configured same as "other working apllications" (since their technical architectures are the same)
--> Checked application datasources; database connections of this application automatically create datasources, for connection dbconn1 there exists a datasource named dbconn1DS as a module in the deployed application. Other working applications had datasources with same name; to prevent a possible conflict in JNDI names of these datasources I changed the name of the db connection to a unique name, deleted the old connection and datasource. But still no luck, error is still SAME.
--> Test applications (which have trinidad components 1.2 as tag library and there are references to it from page files) run on standalone wls, removing this taglib and the references does not make a difference. But the real application gives error when trinidad is removed from the tag libraries (java.lang.NoSuchMethodError: resetADFContext)
--> Created new jspx pages which are not using backing beans and tried to access these, but I received the SAME error for these pages as well. Removed all jspx pages except the dummy test pages, and still no change.
One final note; html pages in the project open without problems, as their url are different from the jspx files ( "host/appName/Test.html instead" of "host/appName/faces/Test.jspx" ) and when these pages open, the server log and console indicates new sessions created by this request.
This is the famous error I get on the server log every time I try to access a jspx file:

Could anybody please help, where to focus to see the REAL indications and solutions of this annoying error? Soon I will get this application to production environment, so any help would be appreciated.
    Thanks in advance...

    Ok, I think I should give the update, on how I struggled to solve the problem;
--> I did NOT update the wls, since it is the production server and has many applications and services running on it , I could not take the risk of breaking those.
--> I migrated, or rewrote the application on JDeveloper 11.1.1.1.0, rewrote the toplink map file, descriptors, pageDefs bla bla, to make it compatible with wls 10.3.1.0.
--> Then I tested the app on JDev 11.1.1.1.0 ok, then opened the same application on JDev 11.1.1.5.0 then tested ok....
--> And I deployed the application from JDev 11.1.1.5.0 to the standalone wls, and this is where the magic happened, the app worked without error on standalone wls 10.3.1.0
+( Just a note: I really wonder, where is the backward, or forward compatibility of ide and server runtimes? )+
Anyway, it is a big lesson for me about choosing the ide version for a specific server.
    Thank you...

  • Can the EJB from JDeveloper be deployed to WebLogic ?

I am evaluating the tools for a major web sites developing. Amazed by the Business Components framework. But little bit worry about the platform dependency. Any information is appreciated.

  • Jdeveloper WS proxy error while invoking  web service deployed on weblogic

Hello experts, can you please help me. I have web service deployed on weblogic server.
I have not set any credential for this web service. I can test the service from SOAPUI without providing any credentials.
Then I generated WS proxy client using Jdeveloper. When I try to run the client, I do not know why I get security execption (shown below) eventhough I have not secured the web service deployed on weblogic server.

Inside the method setPortCredentialProviderList(), I have not provided any credentials, keystores etc. Because weblogic is not setup with SSL and also I have not set up any authorization or authentication for the web service. I do not know why I am able to test it through SOAPUI and why not using WS proxy.
    Appreciate your quick response.

  • Error auto-deploying a Web App (.WAR file)

    Hello,
Weblogic 6.1 throws a FileNotFoundException about 10% of the time for me when
auto-deploying a Web app. Has anyone else run into this? I searched the newsgroups
but didn't come up with anything, so I thought I'd start here.
My build/deploy cycle is managed by an Ant build file that creates a WAR file
of my web application and then drops it into $WL_HOME/config/mydomain/applications.
Occasionally when I do this, I get the error shown below. Originally I was building
the WAR file right in the ../applications directory, so I thought that might be
an issue. So, I started building the WAR file in a staging directory and copying
it into ../applications. No luck. Next, I tried deleting the original WAR file
from ../applications, and THEN copying the new one over from the staging directory.
    Still fails occasionally.
Let's see. This is Weblogic 6.1 on Win2K. The only other thing is that my dev/build/staging
environment is on a network share, and it's from there that I'm copying the WAR
file to my local machine (where WL is running).
If someone has seen and/or knows what is up with this, great. If not, it's not
    a show-stopper.
    Thanks!
    Cheers,
    David

    Michael,
This is a problem with 6.1 SP2 also -- a very annoying error. Without auto deploy
working properly, developers are spending alot of time waiting for WebLogic to restart.
    HELP!!! we need this fixed.
I see the EXACT same stack trace (ERROR).

The server has not found anything matching the Request-URI. No indication is given of whether the condition is temporary or permanent.
If the server does not wish to make this information available to the client, the status code 403 (Forbidden) can be used instead. The 410 (Gone) status code SHOULD be used if the server knows, through some internally configurable mechanism, that an old resource is permanently unavailable and has no forwarding address.

On the Deployments look for the Testing tab.. you will see your test link to check your deployment ..
Some times.. for some reasons( which i dontKnow :( it doesnt identify with m/c name.. repalce it with IP address..and give a try.. if its on local /c u can try 127.0.0.1 /(or local host too)

Jerald, Oracle doesn't own this particular piece of code so I can't help too much since I have no real knowledge of it's working. It was built and used with earlier versions of WLS (8.1, 9.2) so it may not have tracked any changes made to libraries/packaging in WLS 10.0.
    Caused by: java.lang.NoClassDefFoundError: weblogic/rmi/extensions/RemoteRuntimeException
at weblogic.deploy.api.tools.deployer.Deployer.runBody(Deployer.java:90)I see in WLS 10.3.x, that the class identified as missing is located in client JAR files:
    sbutton:~/Oracle/Middleware/wlserver_10.3 $ jwhich RemoteRuntimeException .
    Adding . to search path
    ./server/lib/wljmsclient.jar: weblogic.rmi.extensions.RemoteRuntimeException
    ./server/lib/wlthint3client.jar: weblogic.rmi.extensions.RemoteRuntimeException
I don't have a 10.0 install so am not sure where it resides in that release.
We have introduced a WebLogic Server Maven Plugin in our WLS 10.3.3 release which supports deployment operations. This is not supported/certified for working against a WLS 10.0 environment, but if you are using Maven and have an opportunity to update to a more recent release, then we have something which may be of use to you.

  • Error starting deployment on weblogic 10.3

I successfullly deployed a WAR to my development WebLogic server 10.3, however upon starting up the application I get the following error.
    weblogic.management.DeploymentException:
Error: Unresolved Webapp Library references for
    "ServletContext@40456469[app:loginJSP module:loginJSP.war path:/LoginJSF-ViewController-context-root spec-version:2.5]",
    defined in weblogic.xml [Extension-Name: adf.oracle.domain.webapp, exact-match: false],
    [Extension-Name: jstl, Specification-Version: 1.2, exact-match: false],
    [Extension-Name: jsf, Specification-Version: 1.2, exact-match: false]
I just downloaded JDeveloper created an ADF application, and just downloaded WebLogic. I'm not sure how WebLogic can be so far off on ADF version. I downloaded the Oracle Fusion Middleware patchset: 11g Release 1 (11.1.1.4.0) - Patch Set 3. I don't have the room to install it though.
Is there some other way I can get around this?
    Thank you,

    Hi,
The DTD used in "web.xml" should not cause any issue ...though it's the OLD "web.xml"...Please try to run the Following command to Generate the New Deployment Descriptors from the Existing Application:
Step1). Open a Command Window and Run "setWLSEnv.sh" or "setWLSEnv.cmd".
Step2). In the Command Prompt move to the Current Directory where you have placed your Application and then Run the Following Command
    java weblogic.DDConverter  -d NewDDs  jamagent.war
Here Above Command Will read the "jamagent.war" War archive and then It will generate the New DDs in "NewDDs" directory...Which we need to replace with the OLD DDs present in our WebApplication..
    Thanks

  • Time out error on deploying to SAP-J2EE engine.

I got a problem while deploying to SAP-J2EE engine using ant. It takes a lot of time and then throws a time out error.
The problem is with the web.xml file pointing to a DTD in the internet, I have pasted some part of the web.xml below,
    <?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8" ?>
    <!DOCTYPE web-app
      PUBLIC "-//Sun Microsystems, Inc.//DTD Web Application 2.2//EN"
    <web-app>
        <display-name>MyPay</display-name>
        <description>MyPay</description>
Once I write down the DTD description in the web.xml itself, it works fine.
I have pasted the error trace below,
    j2eedeploy:
         [echo] Deploying to Local environment...
         [echo] C:\Java\Projects/MyPay/dist/MyPay.ear

    Thanks for your reply Kalyan,
The problem seems to be with my system, because I had run the same ant script in another system and it deployed successfully.
The problem does not seem to be with the dtd, whereas it seems that the SAP-J2EE engine is not able to open the link to the dtd giving a time out error.
Is it possible to switch off the validation process of the SAP-J2EE engine of an xml with the dtd?

  • Auto-Deployment is not working in Eclipse - Weblogic

I have created weblogic server instance in Eclipse. Then, I have added one project into weblogic server by using "Add/Remove Projects" menu. After I start the server , I logged into admin console and checked the deployments link. I am not finding the project listed in the list.I have selected option "Run stand alone web module directly from work space" in web logic server configuration window in eclipse.
I am using Eclipse 3.3 and weblogic 10.0.
I have no idea, why auto-deployment is not working.
I would appreciate your help on this regard.I have contacted Eclipse Support, they have asked me to contact BEA team.
    Thanks,
    Prakash.A

    Hi Prakash,
The "Run standalone web module from workspace" doesn't publish the application to the server (instead the app is deployed to a temp location).
This is mainly to help test the app during the development stages. If your app is complete and would like to publish to the server then you might want to try the following option
    - In Server View, double click on the configuration to launch Overview
    - Select "Copy stand-alone web module into separate deployment folder"
    - Save the configuration
    - Start the server
The application would be deployed to the server as a WAR file.

  • Error : Period dimension 'Period' is missing a Base Time Period member 'Jun' that has been deleted since the last deployment. Base Time Period members cannot be deleted once the dimension is deployed

    HI,
I am using V11.1.2.2 Hyperion Planning. I am currently getting an error:
Error : Period dimension 'Period' is missing a Base Time Period member 'Jun' that has been deleted since the last deployment. Base Time Period members cannot be deleted once the dimension is deployed
This is what i got when i tried to add alternate hierarchy to my shared dimension. I tried to delete it and it messed up.
NOw it wont deploy my application.
    Can any one suggest.
    Thanks in advance
    Cheers,

    EPMA!!!!! EPMA!!!!
I'm playing around with it to write a blog post and it is crazy. Only possible workaround (till now i'm not able to figure out a solution to it) is to copy the application and deploy it as a new one. Take copy of all objects (forms, tasklist etc). Delete the corrupted application and rename the new one to old.
