JDeveloper install is machine-based, not user-based ! [Solved]

Hi,
I am in a Windows 2003 domain development setup where several users can share the same computer to develop. From my understanding, JDeveloper install and settings handling is machine-based, not user-based ! This is quite a problem because if a user changes of computer to develop, he will lose his JDev settings. How can I solve this, by saving the user settings to a remote folder ?
Thanks
EDIT: I solved this problem by adding a JDEV_USER_HOME environment variable pointing to a shared folder.

  • ISE; machine based dot1x authentication not working

    Hi there,
I'm currently trying out dot1x authentication with MDA. The phone is currently authenticated via MAB. I succeeded to do the same with a Win7 workstation, but now I have a problem with true dot1x auth. Whenever the client tries to authenticate to the ISE it is using the notorious "host/" prefix. I read in the ACS 5.2 user guide that there is an option to crop it. I tried to find the same feature in the ISE, but it seems there is none.
I have the authentication policy configured to use a certificate authentication profile as identity source when the method is dot1x without any additional conditions.
In this profile I tried several options, including the common name, subject, subject alternative name. Nothing helped.
Does anybody have a tip on how to solve this?
    Thanks in advance

If I understood correctly I don't need to create an external identity source when using the Certificate Authentication Profile feature.
This is what I got from the documentation:
"Certificate authentication profiles are used in  authentication policies for certificate-based authentications in place  of identity sources to verify the authenticity of the user."
I intend to use machine based authentication without contacting an external identity source.
I also ensured the root CA certificate is selected to be used for EAP-TLS authentication.
This brings me to another question.
If the CA issuing machine or user certificates is itself an intermediate CA do I have to install a chained certificate (intermediade CA+root CA) in the ISE or both CA certificates separately?
    Thanks in advance
    Regards,

    Anna:
The doc you provided say they are not. Inside the page you provided there is a link:
    https://supportforums.cisco.com/docs/DOC-21756
    I quote:
Now the iPhones and iPod touches are able to connect to the secure WLAN with only their AD credentials. They are then prompted to accept the certificate and granted access to the secure WLAN. The domain machines require certificate to be installed via group policy, but the question is how the Apple devices are pulling down the cert?
How to block this behavior?  These devices should only use the guest web-auth access.

If you did not deactivate a machine you did not have a free activation.  You would need to download the direct installer and install Photoshop as a trial.  Later if you free up an activation by deactivating one of your two activations. You should be able to activate your trial install by using menu Help>Sign In...

  • Time Machine does not backup home/user directory (on separate drive)

I recently installed a SSD into my Mini. Due to size restrictions, my home/user directory has to be kept on another drive. I retained the stock 1TB drive that came with the Mini for this.
Ok, installed the SSD, restored a Time Machine backups (sans user data). Used a different admin user and configured my user to use the 1TB drive for it's home directory (/Volumes/1TB/home/<user>). Restart, log in as my user, all is good. All data, settings, etc is there. Everything looks normal.
Time Machine REFUSES to backup this directory. It will backup the 1TB drive and anyting else I create in it, but not the home directory. I tried every permission trick I could think of or found online. I even tested it further by formatting the 1TB drive fresh, adding a new user, configuring the user to use the 1TB for their home directory and it still won't back it up (this was a test of permissions the OS set, to make sure I didn't change my data perms somewhere along the way). Time Machine would not backup the new user's home directory on the 1TB drive.
Any thoughts? I can't be the first person to have their home directory on a non-OS drive.
If I were to create a folder/file in /Volumes/1TB/<test file> ... Time Machine gets it perfect. It just will NOT touch /Volumes/1TB/home/<anything here>
    Thanks!

Open the Time Machine preference pane and unlock the settings, if necessary. Click the Options button. If there is one particular folder with items that are not being backed up reliably, add it to the list of excluded items. If there are many such folders, add your home folder to the list, or add a whole volume (i.e., what Apple calls a "disk.") Save the changes.
Start a backup, or wait for one to happen automatically. When it's done, open the preference pane again and remove the exclusion(s) you made earlier. Back up again and see whether there's a change.

For what the Apple Store's charge you can buy almost buy a new computer.
Just for giggles I brought my old laptop in for a drive upgrade and asked, they wanted $600 for a drive that only cost $120 at the time and it was a slow 5,400 RPM drive. The new Mac's of a similar make were going for $1000.
I did the drive replacement myself, got a faster drive of better quality for $300 instead.
Then another time I asked for a RAM upgrade from 4GB to 8GB, they wanted to charge $400 + $35 for the labor.
The same RAM is on Crucial.com for $90 and all I need is a 00 micro phillips screwdriver.
So you see what's going on here.
I think what you should do, if your out of warranty/AppleCare, is to call up the local PC tech guy who also does Mac's and have them fix you right up.
They can offer more personalized care which you need. Clone your old drive to the new and everything.
With Apple they are overworked at the Genius Bar and just place roadblocks so you buy a new machine instead.
For instance, all new iMac's now have proprietary drive software installed on the hard drives for heat monitoring. So now the only choice a user has is to bring their iMac into a Apple Store for a very expensive drive upgrade, which a person then decides the money is better spent buying a new machine.

  • 802.1x Machine Based Authentication - Password expired

    Hi,
I would like to ask 1 question about machine based authentication on 802.1x.
1.We are deploying 802.1x on wired user.
2.Some user are using machine based authentication in order to authenticate their port.
3.However, after the user password expired, the user need to change their password and then the machine are unable to authenticate. The error i got is "External DB user invalid or bad password". Then switch assign the user to Guest Vlan
4.But, once i plug out the cable and plug in back the UTP cable after the user login, the switch will assigned the user to proper VLAN.
5.User wont be able to access their share drive n etc since the guest vlan only have access to the internet.
5.Anyone have any idea what is happening? It seems that the machine is sending the old password during authentication process to the ACS.
Anybody can shed a light to me. Thanks.

This should certainly work with that rev. On your passed (or failed) auth log, you should see the username of the session authenticating. If you see the FQDN of the machine, this is a machine auth. Also, machine-auth typically executes before the GINA is displayed to the user. It sounds like machine-auth is failing and we need to determine why. Has this machine been away from the domain for long?
    This also might help:

Guys, I been in the business working on PC and MAC for years. So I am not green at this, I was looking for some kind of option to get past the boot loader..  Which is failing.
I know how to boot into these modes.. Done tons of research before posting and couldn't find anything.
It will not go into  Internet Recovery, or any thing else.  I hear the sound .. then that is it.. I get nothing else..
I have tried clearing the NVRAM which is Option + Command + P + R
    Still nothing..
So I thought I would try here to see if maybe there was some trick out there someone might know of that would work.
What else guys?  I am hitting th keys right..

  • Can I install the creative cloud on multiple machines but not use it or pay until activate it

I would like to install the Creative Cloud software on several machines now but not use it or pay for it on all the machines until the person using that machines needs it then they can pay to activate it.  Is it okay to have the software installed on lots of machines but not activated?

    Hi There,
If the software is installed on the machine and it is not activated, you would not be able to use it once the trial is expired after 30 days.
Whenever, you wish to use it, you can buy it and can start using it.
    Thanks,
