Jdeveloper, SQLJ and connection manager

Hello,
My question is wether it is possible (and if yes how), to use the connection manager within JSP and SQLJ pages, without using the Bussiness Components.
At this moment the sqlj or jsp program gives a class not found fault. I do not know how to get or where to find the connectionmanager class.

Yes it is possible. The connectionManager classes are in "connectionmanager.zip" in the /lib directory under where JDeveloper is installed. The library is "Connection Manager" within the JDeveloper IDE.
Hope this helps,
Rob

  • RAC and Connection manager 10gR2

    Hi there,
    is there a way making RAC and Connection Manager working? I did not test anything yet, I am just looking for papers. Can you point me on anything I should know?
    Thanks a lot

    Connection manager is of no use here. You have to use the connection parameters in tnsnames.ora and listener.ora files and nothing else.

  • Rac and connection manager

    Hi, We are in the planning stages of a Rac install, using oracle 10gr2. One of the concerns we have with our architecture is in case of a cluster melt down, a redirection of sqlnet connections need to be made to another database(NOT a data guard instance). Wondering if connection manager is of any use here.
    Thanks!

  • Hyper-V networking and connection manager software

    Hi All,
    I've just started running client hyper-v on windows 8.1 and have found a huge issue (well huge for me). We use iPass where I work to grant us access to wifi hotspots around the globe and also as a connection manager so it always uses the fastest/best connection.
    However I have noticed that once you configure networking for hyper-v the ipass client looses sight of the ethernet card and can no longer detect it. As a result I've been getting stuck onto a public wifi hotspot when connected to ethernet in the office
    as iPass doesn't see an ethernet device.
    I've checked this by deleting the hyper-v network and rebooting and then iPass springs into life and disables both wifi and wwlan as it can see I have a lan connection. I've also tried this using vodafones mobile broadband software instead of iPass and found
    the same issue exists.
    It would appear that when hyper-v creates the virtual adaptor everything else looses access to the physical nic. right now I have removed networking from my local VMs but any help with this is greatly appreciated.
    As ever, thanks in advance.
    S

    tried sharing and bridging neither work. as soon as the hyper-v network is created the hardware appears to be hidden from anything other than the OS.
    This is only an issue if your creating a switch with external access. Creating an internal switch where you have access to the VMs from the local host is fine, so it seems related to whatever hyper-v is doing with actual network card.

  • JDeveloper, SQLJ, and SQL Server

    I am trying to use JDeveloper to write SQLJ code to connect to a SQL Server database using the JTurbo driver (part of a benchmark). Everyting works great form the command line, but (1) JDeveloper can not find the driver (despite the fact that it is in the setvars and in the projects classpath), and (2) the executable JVM can not find the .ser files (again most likely a CLASSPATH issue).
    Any thoughts are appreciated.

    upto my knowledge the SQLJ is oracle specific. Because the SQLJ classes needs Aurora Virtual Machine, available only in Oracle server, to execute its classes or to get connected to the database.

  • Java Web Services wrapper and connection management.

    We are currently evaluating the use of the SES Java web-services for a custom front end. I've downloaded the sample code and have read through the documentation but I'm confused on a few points.
    We will be OSSO protecting the app, so the flow I think I need to use is (on the OracleSearchService object):
    *setSoapURL
    *proxyLogin
    *setSearchUser
    *doOracleSearch
    (do whatever with results)
    From what I can tell each one of these does a separate call into the actual web service. Does this keep a connection open between these calls and if so how do we need to manage our connections in this case. Is there an explicit close method we should be calling? I see that we can get an OracleSoapHTTPConnection from the undocumented getConnection method on OracleSearchService but I'm unsure if we are supposed to interact with it directly.
    In a related vein how should we managing our OracleSearchService objects? Should we save an instance for each user in our httpSession, or just create a new instance on each call?
    Any insights appreciated,
    Jason

    No Problem at all
    Nomally the Web Service is big different between Web application. or you can build your Web service structure like web application structure. It depends on the web server:
    If the Web Server of hosting company has WEB Service framework, you just need know how to deploy your Web service to Web Service framework and How to deploy to Web Server. In this case, you need deploy it two time, one is for Web Server framework and one is for Web Service framework
    If the Web Server of hosting company doesn't has WEB Service framework, you need build your own Web Service framework into a web application, then you just need know how to deploy your web application with Web service into Web Server framework

  • The interface connecting Lean-WM and inventory management

    Dear experts!
    Thank you for your attention!
    I am confused at the interface connecting Lean-WM and inventory management.
    there are so many concepts in this field, such storage location, picking areas, storage types and so on.
    Could you please give me an real case or a illustration to discribe that how the interface connecting Lean-WM and inventory management works?
    Best regard!
    Tangdark

    you do nto need to enter serial numbers while clearing inventory at WM level but at IM in case you have the serial profile activated then you need to enter serial numbers when clearing inventory from the IM level.
    according to what you have said it should automatically pop up a screen where you need o enter the serial numbers but this is weird it is not doing.
    Please check the following:-
    Does the serial number profile config in OIS2 have "MMSL" as a property and if so is entry of serial numbers mandatory during goods receipt and issue ad if there is a stock check active

  • How can I find out the server port for a secured FTP site and creating a FTP Connection Manager

    I have to create a FTP Task to go out and get the files that our 3rd party vendor will be dropping on a secured FTP site. I have all the credentials to access that Secured FTP Site and have successfully done so through FileZilla.
    Now I need to set-up a FTP Task to go out and get their files and in so doing create a FTP Connection Manager. Is there any way I can determine the
    Server Port number from the Secured FTP site? I let it default to 21 and tried the Test Connect and it failed.
    Thanks for your review and am hopeful for a reply.

    Hi ITBobbyP,
    SSIS has a built in FTP task, while this only works for the FTP protocol, it doesn’t support SFTP. But there are some free clients like WinSCP and
    SSIS SFTP Task Control Flow Component
    available in the CodePlex which can invoked from SSIS.

  • CAn you use excel connection manager to connect to a folder that is protected with a username and password?

    I have folder on my server that my ssis package needs to get into. I have an excel file that I am connecting to using Excel Connection Manager. My ssis package is unable to connect to the folder. How do I get this to work. Thank you

    Hi RythmMusic,
    I am not sure how the folder is protected with username and password, Are you talking about folder is at restricted access and rest it ask you to punch window credential. In that case you need to run the ssis package with account which have access to that
    folder or use a proxy account to run under.
    If it protected from third party software then it need to decrypted by that third party software only. SSIS won;t be able to help here.

    I want to use my IPOD Classic 160gb for notepad entries in addition to the music and books I listen to. It is set to "Open ITunes when connected to computer" and "manually manage music and videos".  How can I do that without losing some of the features of those two?   I just want to add a feature.  Thanks

    Settings>Store (or iTunes & App Stores if you are running iOS6)>Apple ID. Tap your son's ID and sign out. Sign in with your ID and password.
    You shouldn't lose the music, but if you try to update any apps that you bought with the family ID, you will have to use that password that is linked with that ID in order to update.
    Avoid downloading past purchased content with the old ID if you can since you will associate the iPad with the old ID for 90 days and you will lock yourself out of your own, new ID for that period of time. Read more about associated devices in iTunes here.

  • Cannot Drag and Drop a Field from Connection manager to a worksheet.

    Hi
    I've recently installed the latest version of SQLDEVELOPER (1.5.3) onto winxp.
    I used to be able (previous version) to drag fields from the connection manager and drop onto a worksheet to save typing the field name when writing sql.
    This new version currently does not allow me to do this (it lets me drag, but not drop).
    I am able to drag a table object - and when I drop onto worksheet it creates a select statement with all fields.
    Is this by design, or is there a setting in preferences that I'm missing, or could there be something wrong with my installation ?
    Another not so good feature on this new version:
    When you Right-Click a package object on the connection manager and select "Run" : a window appears with automatically generated plsql block to run the package - great. However I used to be able to copy this plsql and paste it into anything I wanted (e.g. note-pad, or another application etc), but now I am unable to use the generated code unless I use the "Save File.." button. (Copy/paste etc is not available from either "right click", Edit menu or CTRL C).
    Again is this by design (I certainly used to be able to do it) or is it a problem specific to my installation.
    Any pointers much appreciated.
    jacr

    Jacr,
    We introduced the choice of drag and drop options in 1.5.0. Under preferences Database -> Worksheet Parameters, you can switch between the dragging on join clauses or individual statements including insert, update or delete. With this change and with the increase in code insight, we removed the ability to drag individual columns onto the worksheet. Have you tried the code insight feature in 1.5.3?
    I am able to use the copy and paste from the anonymous block to the worksheet works in 1.5.3. Are your copy and paste keys working else where? Perhaps resetting these keys to default in the preferences might help.

  • DataDirect and Oracle Connection Manager

    Quick Question - Has anyone made the Plumtree Portal running on Oracle using the built in DataDirect drivers work with an infrastructure that uses Oracle Connection Manager (OCM).
    Due to security and performance reasons, using Oracle Connection Manager is needed to communicate accross firewalls.
    Ive already followed up with DataDirect, they dont support it currently. Plumtree Support doesnt seem to think it will work (im guessing there right).
    If anyones got any insight, it be appreciated.

  • Custom SSIS Source: How do I make it create a new connection manager and display its properties window?

    I am writing a custom SSIS source that uses a standard SSIS Flat File Connection Manager. I have got a working UI that shows all usable connection managers in a dropdown list and allows the user to pick one. I would like to be able to have a button that
    the user can click on to create a new connection manager, and it would open the properties window for the new connection manager so it can be set up.
    Abridged code:
    Public Class MyNewSourceUI
    Implements IDtsComponentUI
    Private MetaData As IDTSComponentMetaData100
    Public Function Edit(ByVal parentWindow As IWin32Window, _
    ByVal variables As Variables, _
    ByVal connections As Connections) As Boolean _
    Implements Microsoft.SqlServer.Dts.Pipeline.Design.IDtsComponentUI.Edit
    Dim UIwin As New MyNewSourcePropertiesWindow(MetaData, connections)
    Return (UIwin.ShowDialog() = DialogResult.OK)
    End Function
    Public Sub Initialize(ByVal dtsComponentMetadata As IDTSComponentMetaData100, _
    ByVal serviceProvider As System.IServiceProvider) _
    Implements Microsoft.SqlServer.Dts.Pipeline.Design.IDtsComponentUI.Initialize
    MetaData = dtsComponentMetadata
    End Sub
    End Class
    Public Class MyNewSourcePropertiesWindow
    Inherits System.Windows.Forms.Form
    Private _metadata As IDTSComponentMetaData100
    Private _cnxions As Connections
    Public Sub New(ByVal ComponentMetaData As IDTSComponentMetaData100, ByVal connections As Connections)
    InitializeComponent()
    _metadata = ComponentMetaData
    _cnxions = connections
    ShowConnections()
    'Setup Existing Metadata '
    End Sub
    Private Sub ShowConnections()
    Me.cboConnection.Items.Clear()
    Me.cboConnection.Items.AddRange((
    From i As ConnectionManager In _cnxions _
    Where CType(i.Properties("CreationName").GetValue(i), String) = "FLATFILE" _
    AndAlso CType(i.Properties("Format").GetValue(i), String) = "Delimited" _
    Select i.Name).ToArray())
    End Sub
    Private Sub btnNewConnection_Click(ByVal sender as Object, ByVal e as System.EventArgs) Handles btnNewConnection.Click
    Dim newconn As ConnectionManager = _cnxions.Add("FLATFILE")
    ShowConnections()
    Me.cboConnection.SelectedItem = newconn.Name
    End Sub
    Private Sub btnCancel_Click(ByVal sender As Object, ByVal e As System.EventArgs) Handles btnCancel.Click
    Me.DialogResult = DialogResult.Cancel
    Me.Close()
    End Sub
    Private Sub btnOK_Click(ByVal sender As Object, ByVal e As System.EventArgs) Handles btnOK.Click
    'Store any metadata changes '
    Me.DialogResult = DialogResult.OK
    Me.Close()
    End Sub
    End Class
    That's what I've got so far. I had assumed that adding a new connection would automatically display the properties window to the user (right?). However, in my tests, what actually happens is that it creates the new source with a random GUID for a name and no
    other properties set up, and puts it in the connections pane, and that's it. Not real useful.
    Obviously, something else is required to make the properties window appear, but I can't find what it is. There's no ShowUI() member on any of the classes I have, and I haven't been able to find out the name of the UI class that's used by the flat file source.
    Does anyone know how this is done? I know it can be done, because such a button exists in the normal Flat File Source UI.

    Yes, you need to drive the UI creation. I see you create a custom connection manager, in this case on how to build its UI please refer to http://kzhendev.wordpress.com/2013/08/07/part-2-adding-a-custom-ui-to-the-connection-manager/
