JDI Configuration

Hi,
I have configured the JDI SP14 on EP6 SP14.
The users in the LDAP are not able to login to the dtr url (http://<hostname>:50000/dtr), but If I create users in the portal database and try to login, I am able to login.
Login to NWDS and importing the tasks with the portal database user’s works fine, but giving an error when creating a new DC.
Error:
Creation Error: New project couldn’t be created!
Regards,
Sandeep Doma

Did you set up all the required roles, groups and users as described in the NWDI installation guide?
You should actually create users using the Web AS User Management application (http://<hostname>:<port>/useradmin). Since the Portal user management is just a layer around this , creating users within the poartal also works in your case...
You should never create users directly in the ldap itself.

    Hi ...
Maintain one more characterictic like Zprice and in Addl data give table as SDCOM and field as VKOND and no values, this is characteristics for variant price and include it in the class which u have created earlier.
goto CT04 and goto values .... there select one value eg RED and then goto object dependency and give code as
    $self.Zprice = 'A1'
and for all values give it like that..
    Now goto VK11 and give VA00 .....
then enter varaitn as A1 and give price
    give A2 and give price
like all variants 'A1' etc etc etc which u maintained in object dependency ....
now u can create profile in Cu41 and then run sales order
so what ever u select ...red, blue green etc in order for eg color characterictics .. u have maintained for each value in characteristics .. object dependency .... as $self.Zprice = 'A1', so A1 price maintained in VK11 so if u select Red ... then price from A1 comes ..
same procedure u follow for all values in other characterictics .. with only one characteristics Zprice ... i.e $self.Zprice = 'B1' etc .. and maintain values for B1 etc in Vk11 in Va00.

  • Easy to change SLD URL in JDI configuration for existing tracks?

    Hi all,
we are using some tracks in JDI and now we must change the URL to SLD in CMS / Landscape Configurator / Domain Data. SLD is external, but the external machine must be changed.
The "new SLD" is a copy of the "old SLD".
Can we easy edit the SLD URL or may we get some problems?
    Thanks all for answer

  • JDI Configuration - Imports finished but nothing done

    Hello,
I am importing the files SAP_JTECHS, SAP_BUILDT, and SAP-JEE as per track configuration steps. We are on NW04 SP15.
I started the imports, DEV and CONS system went OK (they were running a few minutes or so) but import into the TEST system failes although it says import finished (it ran for about one second)
I checked the Repository-import, CBS-make and SDM deploy logs.
This is what is in the log files:

Does anyone know why we get the results 'not needed'?
    Thanks in advance.
    Kind regards,

    Hi,
The message says Import finished because the Test stage has no corresponding workspaces in DTR and buildspaces in CBS.
SDM deployment is not needed for these sca files for all stages.
    Hence it is a success

  • Error in Java Transports.

    Dear All,
We are on JDI SP8 & are facing a problem while importing a request.
Yesterday we had a problem while transporting a request and we found out that it was due to the fact the the CMS userid password had expired. The import kept running and running and then it fails, I also tried with one more request and it again failed. I get the following error message:

    http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw04/helpdata/en/c9/dc37520bdf4b48bb8f6d4329f073d5/frameset.htm
Further just check if te user id credentials you are inputting in SLD data supplier bridge configuration are valid. Check if the user id is not locked. Further check if the password is valid and finally if he has all SLD relevant authorizations.
If I rememeber you had posted a thread for a similar issue recently.

  • Transports in XI using CMS, assembly issue

    Hi all,
We have a 3 system landscape of XI . We have JDI configured in D system.
Currently we are using CMS transports from D to Q and file system transports from Q to P. We have planned to use CMS transports from Q to P also instead of file system transports.
In that process, when we selected a particular software component in the assembly tab, and selected assemble component, we noticed that all the software compoents assembly is running, which are present in the assembly queue.
Is there any procedure to stop the assembly for all the software components?
    Thanks.

  • Do i have to share /usr/sap/jtrans directory in a WAS System Landscape

    Hi,
do i have to share the /usr/sap/jtrans directory across a WebAS 6.40 systemlandscape, when using jdi? The JDI configuration on dev system works fine. Now i want to transport DC's to consolidation, but it does not work. I still added the consolidation system in Landscape Configurator -> Runntime Systems
    thanks
    Martin

    Hi Martin,
after you set up a development track in CMS you can develop with this track in NWDS.
There you create activities, check them in, activate them and release them for transport into consolidation system.
After you released your activities they appear in the import queue of the consolidation system.
This is independent from defining or not defining a runtime system for consolidation.
To answer your question: No, you don´t have to share the dirctory.
If you have servere problems you should have my telephone number. I do consulting for NWDS at several customers. Another one ist possible.

  • Leave request enhancement (ecc6)

Hi, i have a requirement to create a pre-define dropdown list on approver (similar to dropdown of absence type) on ESS leave request. Please advice how can i do it

    Hi
I am sorry for late reply.
the iView is available as ess~lea. To get to the source code for the leave request iView you want to use NWDI. There is a cook book available on getting source codes package. Then you need to study about self-services FPM so that it is easy for you to understand the leave request iView and do the changes.
Try the link to get JDI configuration for ESS

  • Unable to login to DTR

    Hello All,
I am not able to login to DTR through DTR perspective in

<i>Accessing server root property (XCM_CLIENT:minVersion) failed: Forbidden [(pre||post)-condition failed: DAV:access-denied]</i>
This user is admin user. I tried to create emergency user superadmin and tried to delete ACL files but it dose not allow me to delete as ACL file is checked out by admin user previously. Can superadmin delete checked out file? How to login with admin user? Any clues?

    HI Sharad,
Even me to faced similar problem, my case I have access to CBS and CMS but not for DTR this is the one which mainly required.
Some one might removed the persmissions, ask your adminstrator to check throughly the permissions for DTR
Have a lookinto installation guide.check the JDI configuration part in WAS roles and permissions.
    hope this helped you

  • What is needed for JAVA custom development only?

We have a pilot Netweaver 04 server setup with JDI configured under scenario 2+.  We will only use the landscape for custom non-R/3 related JAVA apps.  Will I need a DEV WAS JAVA JDI instance, QA WAS JAVA JDI instance, and PRD WAS JAVA JDI Instance?  If not the would I just need a DEV JDI instance, then a vanilla QA WAS JAVA instance and PRD WAS JAVA instance.  I am trying to understand how system landscape compare to a traditional R/3.

    Hi Steve,
if you are using NWDI, please refer to the enviroment recommendations there. Actually, compared to R/3 your DEV environment is what you run either locally or in a group organization. Your DEV environment is the server you use as a central testing instance and that should obviously be another server then your productive servers.
Basically this means that NWDI usually does a transport to the dev system and if you want to deploy to productive, you just would initiate such from NWDI.

    Benny

  • Importing configuration USING JDI

    Hi All,
Here is the problem which I am facing. I logged in to JDI and its sucessful. After that in DC perspective.. in Inactive DC window, when I tried to right click, but in this case it not opening a context menu.
then in Local Dc window, I tried to right click and click on import configuration and select remote, it gives me the following error.
No configurations on server or server error. But, I am able to do it with my co-worker user id
did anyone get this before. I have fours track. also i have created 4 client in DTR view. Is there anything else..i need to do?

    > Is this client creation mandatory in JDI. I worked on
    > NWDI before. there was no such client creation. SO,
    > just kinda confusing.
    No, it's not.
The only time you need to deliberately create a client is when you want to alter permissions .  If you just want to browse the repository, select the checked-out track, and switch to the DTR perspective.
In my experience, if you try to alter permissions with the clients created by checking out the dev configs, you may get all sorts of errors.  It was very frustrating until I re-read the docs and did what the indicated - create a dtr client that starts at the root.

  • JDI: Cannot import development configuration into NWDS

    Hi everyone!
I am trying to setup and use the Scenario 2+ for the JDI.
    So far, I have
    1) created users and roles for the JDI
    2) created a software component called com.company/WeekNumber
    3) created a domain and a track in the CMS
    4) imported required SCs for the system
    All according to help.sap.com.
Now, when I start the NWDS I would like to import the development configuration to be able to start developing my components. But when I try to import the configuration, I get the error
com.sap.tc.devconf.SyncException: Import configuration failed:Could not create mountpoint for SC in compartment nordea.com_WEEKNUMBER_1: Checking existence failed for /dtr/ws/Week/nordea.com_WEEKNUMBER/dev/inactive/SCs/nordea.com/WEEKNUMBER/_comp/TopLevelDCs/(Internal Server Error)
    Please advise.
    Best regards, Peter

It solved itself after a restart of the NWDS. :o)
