JDI moved; XI CMS transports fails now
Hi there!
Our NWDI/CMS/SLD system was moved to another host. We changed all kind of settings to the new hostname of our SLD/NWDI server.
We updated all SLD content and associations, Exchangeprofiles etc.
We cannot find any link anymore to our old hostname...but....
Our XI transports through CMS still fails because it keeps looking for the old host as the CMS server.
What i found is that in de Integration Builder --> Administration --> CMS Transport Settings all SWCS related to the XI track are stored. Also the CMS URL is mentioned there, and this still points to the old host!
And there is no way to change that there. Just the True/False option for transport changelist option...
I have tried to kick out an SWVC from the XI track, save it. Put it back in on the new host and save again. Update CMS, but still the CMS URL points to the old hostname:port (grmbl)
Does anyone now where to adjust this CMS URL for the XI track related SWVC's?
Any help is welcome since we are stuck with transports for XI and we cannot fix production problems now...
Björn

I'm confirming that with the same XI instance you can't import/export. Please find the below document for reference.

A Important problem about CMS Transport Studio Test Tab
Hi experts:
I am use NWDI and modify ESS source code, when i check in my modified project like esstratre and release it . In CMS transport studio i consolidation , assembly it then test it .but i make a fatal mistake, there is some mistake in project esstratre but i already check in it .So in the Test tab SMD deploy failed.
Now i want restore the history version before i modify the project . But what can i do? Please help me.Thanks a lot.
yours zunxianHI,
there is some mistake in project ess~tra~tre but i already check in it
1. can you check out your DC and correct those changes? and check in it.....its the best solution.
and good for you , so you can keep some needed changes, present in that activity.
2. in DTR perspective there you can see versions in the version graph view.
3. or use sync to date option for your DC.
But the 1st option is preferable as a developer. -
SSRS: Failure sending mail: The transport failed to connect to the server.
I run SSRS and email reports using SMTP service on a Windows Server 2008 R2 box. This has been working for months and stopped today around noon.
I have checked all SMTP settings and verified they are correct. I can send an email from SQL Server Management Studio, using SMTP service with no trouble.
Now in SSRS I am getting this message:
Failure sending mail: The transport failed to connect to the server.
I have read every link when I google this message or type it into bing.com; yet cannot find a reason why SSRS has suddenly stopped emailing my reports.
I have restarted the server in question, I have changed account names, I have changed passwords, yet nothing is working.
I even approached our senior dba about it and he has never seen this happen.
Has anyone else experienced this issue?
Thank you,
JessicaThank you JJordheim.
IDS is not an issue. Neither is the Windows Firewall on the server. I actually turned it off while troubleshooting to make sure it was not causing the issue.
SSRS and my SMTP Virtual service are on the same server. I am running the SMTP service through IIS. I even created a new SMTP Service to test with. No luck.
My rsreportserver.config file looks fine, or at least it does to me. Posted below:

Query regarding CMS transport!
Hi Experts,
I hav an issue with CMS transport. - I hav done certain changes in a mapping for a specific name space say urn:XYZ. The software component for this name space is say SC1. This software component also contains several name spaces say urn:123. urn:456. urn:pqr. And some of them are active and some inactive
Now as per process, I hav activated my specific messege mapping and then going to TOOLS- Export Design Objects - Mode: Transport Using CMS. -- Individual Objecis -......
Now when I go to the CMS url....there after carrying out the necessary steps [ Pls refer to the following URL.This thing WILL take some time as it is a 2.5 MB file :
http://www.esnips.com/doc/34d643fe-13b3-4c83-922a-c64db6b7e52d/Change-REQUEST-CMS-Process,-manual-Complete.
It contains a word document with details step by step screen shot showing everything in details -- see page 17 and 18. I dont understand , why in the approval tab, the SOFTWARE COMPONENT name is suggested, the reason being, if i select the SOFTWARE COMPONENT, all other name space within this SOFTWARE COMPONENT apart from my desired development get trsnaported in Production!!
EXPERTS, Pls check the doc in details, this is a kind of general manual and tell me if I hav missed out some thing/ or hav done some mistakes , I think this can be a gud document !!
Pls note, dont study the document by the NAME oF DEVELOPMENT perspective, I hav developed this doc from time to time with necessary changes / modifications !!
Regards,
Arnab.
Experts, this question still remains unanswered!
Edited by: Arnab Mondal on Oct 15, 2008 9:25 AMHi Suddha,
, it took me some time to prepare myself some answer.
the conversation!
Hi Arnab not a prob. I have not got a chance today to see your latest post on the thread, was busy with some stuff throughout the day.
+ Once Again Suddha , you managed time for me,, let me tell you, mine is not a very urgent issue, but YES, I want to get to the root of it!!!+
As you have said that, you see all the objects in the Assembly Tab page, then do one thing, right after you assemble the specific component, refresh the tab
and check if the other components get removed from the list, under Assembly Tab.
Well, tet me tell you some thing, in my process, I DONT Assemble the Specific component . Let me make this part clear to you . Let me tell you the steps, I
follow in details .
1. Once the change is done in the mapping- I transport it as INDIVIDUAL OBJECTS, through CMS Transport.
2. Log in to the Chanhe Management service!
3.Click on the appropriate TRACk-- that is track for integration repository
4.Click on teh aassebbly tab -- an assembly option arrives -- I select the " same suppot packages number as the last support package number!-- then click
on the ASSEMBLE button.
5. As a result of this all the 4 software components come into the list.
Here I select the appropriate SCV by selecting the LINE. Pls note I dont go to the SELECT Comonent button and select individual SCVs.
6. After selecting the LINE, I go to the approval tab, there I get to see all the SCVs, with severl datse. Here, I again select the appropriate SCV of mine based
on day and time. I select the LINE-- then click on the CONFIRM button. As a result of which i get to see APPROVED, for that SCV.
7. then I go to PRODUCTION TAB , again select the appropriate SCV line and click on the IMPORT button.
These are my steps. This is what I was tought . And now i feel , I missed certain steps .Pls correct me !
Then I must say that somehow you are assembling all the software components, somehow all the components are getting selected. I am having another
doubt, if the components have dependencies, could that be the reason for this?
Well as I described in step no 4 and 5 that I Do select the appropriate SCV in teh Assembley tab, by selecting the line but do not select it through "SELECT
Comonent button and select individual SCVs. Is this where I am going wrong????
Again, as far as the Integration Repository developments are concerned, no two SCV has any dependency, I am sure about that, the major factor being, the
3 SCV that I am working on are CUSTOM SCV.!
One more thing................if you are not going to the consolidation tab and importing the components into consolidation system, how are showing up in the
assembly tab. Strange! don't you think so? You need to follow the sequence of steps. Are you sure you are not referring to some older transports?
Well, this part ,I can smell RATs. Actually in my system I only have a PI develoment and PI production server. This is my first XI proj, and the above 7 steps
were all what I was told as necessary to send developments to Production. I hav absolutely no Idea of the utility of the CONSOLIDATION TAb, and the funda
of importing the components in the consolidation system. I donno anything about the installation of this CMS- Transport studio. But i can speak to the basis
team, and tell you , if you want to know about any specific basis settings.!!!
You need to follow the sequence of steps.
Pls tell me what am I missing !!
Are you sure you are not referring to some older transports?
That is not possible as I can check the date and time. all 3 SCV s have the same date and time. It is in the approval tab, I select the appropriate SCV and
send it for Production!!!

Arnab .

I moved my airport express and now the light is solid orange. What is wrong?
Solid amber is an indication that the AirPort Express has locked up, or that an internal electrical component has failed.
Power off the Express for a few minutes, then power it up again. If the solid amber light persists, the next step would be to perform a Factory Default Reset on the Express to see if that will clear the lockup so the Express can be re-configured.

On Windows 7 PC, got the "upgrade iTunes" notice this morning, said sure, but the upgrade failed, now I can't access iTunes "invalid permissions"
I wasn't paying attention so I don't know the precise error I got on the upgrade failure.
All other iTunes upgrades have been fine...no brainers. Done several on this W7 PC.
If I re-download and install a fresh iTunes I assume I will lose my library...true? Can I find and save off my library so I don't have to "discover" all my music which is scattered all over the PC and a 1T attached USB drive.
Or is there some way to get the iTunes upgrade to successfully restart and install correctly?
Help!Hello there, Konami84.
The following Knowledge Base article provides some recomendations for troubleshooting:
iTunes 11.1.4 for Windows: Unable to install or open
http://support.apple.com/kb/TS5376
Check for .dll files
Go to C:\Program Files (x86)\iTunes and C:\Program Files\iTunes and look for .dll files.
If you find QTMovie.DLL, or any other .dll files, move them to the desktop.
Reboot your computer.
Note: Depending on your operating system, you may only have one of the listed paths.
Uninstall and reinstall iTunes
Uninstall iTunes and all of its related components.
Reboot your computer. If you can't uninstall a piece of Apple software, try using the Microsoft Program Install and Uninstall Utility.
Re-download and reinstall iTunes 11.1.4.

3. Plug USB cable into computer's USB port
4. Hold Home button down and plug the other end of cable into docking port. Do not release button until you see picture of iTune and plug (very important)
5. Release Home button.
ON COMPUTER

Site files moved to new (identical) server; now iWeb gives "Publish Error"
Our school district just replaced the web server where our teachers publish iWeb sites. All user accounts, passwords, IP addresses, and content moved over just fine, but now when teachers try to publish updates to their existing sites on the new server, iWeb throws a "Publish Error: Unable to communicate with FTP server..." error. Test Connection in the publishing settings works fine, as does logging in to the server using an FTP application, so we know the user accounts are okay.
An interesting twist: I published my existing site (that was experiencing this issue) to a local folder on my desktop, and used a standalone FTP application to upload and replace my iWeb site files manually; when I went in and set the iWeb publishing settings back to FTP server, it was again able to publish updates to the site without issue.
We're looking into a permissions problem on the files that were moved from the old server but so far have not been able to find any differences.
Does anyone have any ideas what may be going on? We have a couple hundred people this is affecting and if it's something we can fix on the back-end instead of having to manually replace all of those site files, that would be a great thing! The only time that I had to move a bunch of sites to a new server I was instructed by tech support to download all the sites/files and upload them to the new location.
I would assume that, if you don't do this, the permissions could get messed up.
My hosting service uses Webshell4 to manage files on the server. To change permissions you need to select the site folder in Webshell4 and click the "CHMOD" button to get a window that allows you to do this.
Read permissions should be checked for User, Group and Other.
Write permissions would normally be set for User only.
You could try this with one site to see if this is what's required but your hosting service tech support should really help you with this. That's what they are there for. -
I can not update it was saying I could but not enough room I made room tried to update said failed now says iOS 6.1.3 up to date and no iOS 7 being offered to update what do I do
Do you have the latest version of iTunes installed? I Was able to get to the iOS update after installing the new iTunes, but I had to download it at http://www.apple.com/itunes/

Regards,
Monalisa MohantyIssue seems to be with the aggregates maintained in the cube.
Is your aggregates were properly maintained in your Dev system when you have collected it in your transport?
Check the same and also use overwrite option when you are trying to import the transport in the target systems.
If the aggregates are properly maintained then check the import once again and see if that works fine with the overwrite mode. If not then you need to collect your objects again in a new transport.
Hope this helps.
