JDK 1.6+ 32bit version on Vista 64 - SYSTEM account issue

Hello,
I am just fishing for experience here with installing the Java JDK 1.6 (32 bit version) on Vista64 using the SYSTEM account. My test case that I am using is I can download any of the 1.6 JDK exe versions then create a simple task to run as SYSTEM that will execute the exe with the /passive (tried /qn as well) option this fails with "return code 1619" which is something about package can not be opened. However when the task is changed to run with an admin account this task completes return code 0 and the the JDK is installed.
The root problem here is we are attempting to install apps that require the 32 bit version of the JDK to be present to install where everything is being installed through SMS using the SYSTEM account.
Any insight anyone might have on this would awesome

Create Scheduled Task in GPOPref using System account - issue

Hi all,
I'm trying to create a scheduled task (computer configuration) in GPOPref which is executed by the system account. Creating locally and running the task manually is running without issues.
When I'm creating the task in a GPOPref using a domain account the task is installed on the targetsystem. When just changeing the account to System and run gpupdate the task is not deployed.
Any hints or workaround? Thanks for you help in advance.

Please post the XML of your task in the state that is not working (right
click - all tasks - display xml).

Adobe FIash Player is a 32bit where my operating system is 64bit is this a problem??

I have a HP110-014 computer and just put it together, but found that it will not allow me to view videos on Youtube and says that I do not have Adobe Flash player on my computer. But when I try to down load Adobe Flash player, it says that Adobe is preinstalled on my Windows 8 operating system. Yet when I check the Adobe Flash player on my system, its the 32bit version and my system is a 64bit version. IUs this a problem?

Hi,
It's normal for flash to run as a 32bit exe on a 64bit system.
If it's not working correctly, try a clean installation of the Flash Plug-in as follows.
First, download the Flash uninstall utility on the link below and save it to your Downloads folder.
Flash Player Uninstaller.
When the download has completed, close all browser windows, open your Download folder and run the uninstaller. After this has completed, restart the notebook.
Next, ( unless you already have it ), download and install Firefox and then using Firefox, download and install the latest version of Adobe Flash. Note: You may want to deselect the option to include McAfee Security Scan Plus before downloading.
Close all browser windows before running the Flash installer.
Launch Firefox and see if videos etc play Ok in this browser - if they do, close Firefox, open Internet Explorer and click on the same Adobe Flash link above to get a prompt to install the ActiveX component. When done, restart Internet Explorer.

Hyperion Planning 9.2 version in Vista Operating system

Hi Planning Guru's,
I have installed Hyperion Planning Version 9.2 in Vista Operating system. Is Vista supporting this version?
I tried to configure the shared services by providing SID as ORCL , User name and Password as Scott and tiger. But, I got error as "Unable to create the database connection for the product Hyperion Shared Services ".
Oracle 10g is the relational DB.
Please guide me on how to resolve this and starting working on Planning 9.2 version in Vista OS.

Thanks for the input. But I didn't get such error which you mentioned. I got an error some sort of like " User account is not created in Hyperion Planning".
Now, I am planning to uninstall Vista and Installing the Windows XP in my notebook. Can you please tell what should be the SID , Username and Password given while configuring the Shared Services.

I just purchase T400 how do I have Lenovo install the Home version of Vista 64-bit on my system.

The T400 I ordered comes with P8400 a 64-bit processor and 4 gigs of ram and I would like my system to take advantage of these two items by going with a 64-bit OS.
I called and they transfered me to Sales department so they could help. The sales rep told me that the Home Premium 64-bit version of Vista didn't exist. I know you can order the Lenovo IdeaPad Y530 - 40512YU with Genuine Windows Vista Home Premium 64 as the default standard.
Does anybody know how to have Lenovo install Home Premium 64-bit or send me the disc with it?

I'm a lousy guesser so if you give more information on what year/model MPro and what MacOS version your running it'd sure help? Two different OS's two different ways to install.
If your running 10.7( Lion) then Apple no longer supports XP OR Vista and no longer makes Boot Camp drivers for them.

Can the webmaster fix mozilla's web site so that users don't end up with non working 32bit version of firefox on their 64 bit Linux (see bug #723487)?

I've been subsribed to bug #723487 (https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=723487) for a year and a half, and I identified a problem in the way mozilla's site delivers the linux version of firefox almost a year and a half ago, but for reasons unknown to me, no one bothered to address this problem.
Other, properly built web sites that deliver binary software packages for linux, can successfully recognise if the user downloading firefox is using a 32bit or 64bit Linux distribution, and offer the appropriate version. Try www.libreoffice.org if you think that my claims are false.
But this somehow doesn't work with mozillas website, the website recognizes that the user's operating system is Linux, but doesn't try to figure out if it's a 32bit or 64bit linux, so the users end up with 32bit builds of firefox by default, which then don't work on their 64bit sytems.
The problem is even more intensified due to the rather stupid naming convention used by mozilla - both the 32 and the 64 bit versions are simply named identicaly - for instance firefox-29.0b6.tar.bz2 for the 29 beta 6 version. Other sane software producers (libreoffice, nvidia, qt-project) names their binary packages with different names (eg. the "x86" string is used for the 32bit version, "x64" for the 64bit version) so that the users don't end up trying to use (unsucsesfully; getting a cryptic error message) the wrong version. But in mozilla's case we end up with a lot of confused users filing bug reports, like the bug I mentioned above.
So to rephrase my question - is someone willing to do something about this (the QA Mentor who commented in bug #723487 has so far proven to be completely useless)?

Installing the Trial Version On vista

I cannot get the trial version to install on vista..

Your best bet is either to "Downgrade" your VISTA system to XP or install XP (or even windows 2000) as a Virtual Machine.
If you decide to "downgrade" your system to XP again ensure you have the correct Disk drivers before you start as newer machines (and laptops) will have SATA controllers so Windows XP install will give you a message "No Hard disks found". You can load the driver by pressing F6 at Windows Install Time but only if you have a floppy drive.
You'll get a message like please press F6 if you want to add a Storage controller. You'll then get prompted to insert the floppy disk containing the driver.
Too Bad if you haven't got a floppy drive.
On some machines a USB floppy drive will work but why go and buy a piece of obsolete hardware when you don't need to).
The only way round this problem if you don't have a floppy drive is to "Slipstream" the SATA drivers on to a Windows XP CD. This will then load the correct drivers without prompting for a floppy disk.
How to do this is beyond the scope of this post but Googling for "Slipstreaming Windows" will find you the answer.
You can get FREE software for creating Virtual machines either at http://www.virtualbox.org or download the vmware server from the vmware site.
The Abap Trial version works quite well on a 512KB Virtual machine running Windows XP.
Incidentally OT but I think VISTA is a real pile of dog poo. I've gone back to W2K3 server. A much better product all round IMO even on a laptop.
(You can usually pick up a student edition of W2K3 server Standard Edition somewhere at low or zero cost so it's a better and cheaper bet than Windows XP Pro).
You can make W2K3 server "work station friendly" including installing acceleration, multi-media, games, themes etc quite easily by following the instructions at this link

We are using Delphi 2007 and TCrpe Componet to preview crystal report.
On vista system report preview takes more time to execute.
When we compare on Vista system and Xp system, in vista system, report preview takes 30% more time then xp system.
Does any body have faced similar issue?
How can we speed up on vista system?

Install only 32bit version of AX Flash Player for IE8 and Windows 7 64bit

Hi,
For several reasons I would like to install only the 32bit version of Flash Player AX for IE 8 and Windows 7 64bit.
It was possible to do it when the installers where separated but I see no information how to do that now.
It is very convenient for me to have my 64 bit IE 8 browser without Flash that I use to browse and not get annoyed by the flash on the web and use the 32bit IE 8 on youtube, vimeo, etc when flash is necessary.
I hope the option to choose which version to install will get back if it is not possible now.
Please let me know if such kind of request should be made somewhere else as new feature or whatever.

That was the first thing I tried. It either works on both or disables on both versions. Something is messed with the settings as well, or has been made that way on purpose. Also the next thing I tried was to uninstall only the part residing in System 32 (leaving the one in SysWOW64) but the result was both not working after the uninstall. It remained in Programs but wasn't working anymore in both versions of IE 8. So I just put back the latest 32bit version which is not security wise..

You would need what's called a dual boot system. Where two separate operating systems are installed on the same computer. Then you'd be able to have two different versions of QT. Each one installed to it's own operating system.

Transferring issues w/Creative Zen X-Fi 16gb w/ vista system

<Transferring issues w/Creative Zen X-Fi 6gb w/ vista system I am not computer savvy and do not understand all that computer talk. I can use a pc once the systems are set for me to use. But getting things like this running I have a hard time with. I would greatly appreciate some help.
I need someone to help me with a few things. I have a Gateway desktop pc with vista operating system. I bought a creative zen x-fi 6gb and from day one I have had problems. I think I finally got the firmware to update.
But I am still having a heck of a?time transferring music from centrale to the player. I can only do one song at a time and then after a little while of doing that (like 2 albums later) it stops working. I am doing this using the usb cable that is provided. I don't have the wireless part hooked up yet.
I also had to drag and drop my music into the centrale instead of it updating on its own. How do I fix that?
How do you make a playlist right on the player?
How do I get my calendar info from my yahoo calendar onto the Zen?
I have gone to the creative support site to see what downloads were out there. And I think I am up to date.

after installing, before executing the SAP tutor, you must follow the steps that mention below, must first in the compatibility tab of the program select compatibility with Windows XP SP2
Windows Explorer --> folder c:\PlayerIE right click on file iTutorplayer.EXE --> Properties --> compatibility tab --> select compatibility mode = Windows XP SP2, save and play your tutors

What it you SAPGUI version ? Try to patch your SAPGUI to latest patch.
If still not work, reinstall your SAPGUI then patched it to the latest.
