  • My browser dowloads everything automatically in MyDocuments. But, for security reasons, I need to setup a different download path, to a different location, where I keep my personal files. How do I change the download path? Thanks, Dan.

My Firefox 3.6 is setup to download anything automatically in MyDocuments (which I never use).
For security reasons, I designated a different location on my hard drive, where I keep my confidential files.
How do I change this downloading path? I tried to change it by going to "Tools-Options-Save Files To", but it does not work.
    Thanks,

Do you have any extensions that might interfere?<br />

THIS IS SERIOUS!!!!!!!!! READ THIS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! HEY PEOPLE JUST READ AND TRY THIS IT REALLY
    WORKS!!!!!
THIS REALLY WORKS, SEE HOW THIS TEACHER
MADE XTRA BUCKS IN WEEKS!!!SIMPLE AND IT'S
LEGAL!!!!!!! I found this on a bulletin board and
decided to try it a little while back, I was
browsing through news groups just as you are
right now and came across a article similar to
this saying that you could make thousands of
dollars within weeks with only an initial
investment of $6.00!! So, I thought yeah right.
This must be a scam, but like most of us, I was
curious, so I kept reading. Anyway, it said that
you send one dollar to each of the six names and
addresses stated in the article. You then delete
the first address and change the numbers. ( 2
becomes 1, 3 becomes 2, etc.) place your own name
and address on the bottom of the list at number 6
and post the article to at least 200 news
groups. (there are thousands) No catch that was
it. Therefore, after talking to a few people and
thinking it over I decided to try it. What do I
have to lose except 6 stamps and $6.00 right?
Then I invested the measly six dollars. WELL
GUESS WHAT!!! Within 7 days, I started getting
money in the mail!!! I was shocked. I thought it
was going to stop but it just kept coming. In my
first week, I made $25.00. By the end of the
second week, I had $900.00. In the end of the
    third week, I made $5,000.00!!! It's still
growing right now. This is now my fourth week and
I have made a total of just over $38,000.00!
Moreover, it's still coming in rapidly. This is
certainly worth $6.00 and 6 stamps. I have spent
more than that on the lottery!! Let me tell you
how this works nd most importantly why it
works...Also make sure that you print a copy of
this article NOW so you can get the information
off of it as you need it. I promise you that if
you follow the directions exactly, that you will
start making more money than you possibly thought
just by doing something so easy!! SUGGESTION:
READ THIS ENTIRE MESSAGE CAREFULLY (Print it
out or down load it) Follow the simple directions
and watch the money come in! It's easy. It's
legal. And your investment is only $6.00(plus
postage) IMPORTANT: This is not a rip off; it is
not indecent; it isn't illegal; and it is
virtually no risk - it really works!!!!! If all
of the following instructions are adhered to, you
    will receive extraordinary dividends. PLEASE
NOTE: please follow these directions exactly and
$1,000's or more can be yours in 20 to 60 days.
This program remains successful because of the
honesty and integrity of the participants. Please
continue its success by carefully adhering to the
instructions. You will now become a part of the
mail order business. In this business, your
product is not solid and tangible, it's a
service. You are in the business of developing a
mailing list. Many large corporations are happy
to pay big bucks for quality list. However, the
money made from the mailing list is secondary to
the income, which is made from people like you
and me asking to be included to that list. Here
are the four steps to success: STEP 1: Get 6
separate pieces of paper write the following on
each piece of paper "PLEASE PUT ME ON YOUR
MAILING LIST." Now get 6 us 1dollar bills and
place ONE inside EACH of the six pieces of paper
so the bill will not be seen through the envelope
to prevent thievery. Next, place one paper in
each of the 6 envelopes and seal them. MAKE SURE
THERE ARE ENOUGH STAMPS ON YOUR ENVELOPES. You
should now have 6 sealed envelopes, each with a
piece of paper stating the above phrase your name
and address and a $1.00 bill. What you are doing
is creating a service. THIS IS ABSOLUTELY LEGAL!
You are requesting a legitimate service and you
are paying for it! Like most of us, I was a
little skeptical and a little worried about the
legal aspects of it all. So, I checked it out
with the U.S. Post Office (1-800-725-2161) and
they confirmed that it is indeed legal!!!!! Mail
the six envelopes to the following addresses: #1) John Hernandez 1600 Maiden Lane Richmond Tx. 77469
    #2) Matt Schumacher P.O.Box 936 Ogden KS. 66517 #3) TRB 14135 Armant Place Dr. Cypress Tx. 77429
    #4) Chuks Orji, Samuel Opara 8304 S. Course, #506
    Houston, Tx. 77072
    #5). Malcolm Williamson 502 E Michigan Apt#10
    Urbana, IL 61801
#6) Eric Ogles 416 Arbor Ridge Dr. Stone Mountain GA. 30087
STEP 2: Now take the #1 name off the list that
you see above, move the other names up (6
becomes 5, 5 becomes 4, etc...) and add YOUR name
as number 6 on the list. STEP 3: Change anything
you need to but try to keep this article as
original as possible. Now post your amended
article to at least 200 news groups. ( I think
there are 24,000 groups) All you need is 200, but
remember, the more you post , the more money you
make! ** EVERYBODY AROUND THE WORLD CAN DO THIS
BUT REMEMBER TO PUT ENOUGH STAMPS ON YOUR
ENVELOPES!!!!** This is perfectly legal! If you
have any doubts, refer to title 18 sec. 1302 &
1341 of the postal lottery laws. Keep a copy of
these steps for your self and whenever you need
money, you can use it again and again. PLEASE
REMEMBER that this program remains successful
because of the honesty and integrity of the
participants and by carefully adhering to the
directions. Look at it this way, if you are of
integrity, the program will continue and the
money that so many others have received will come
your way. NOTE: You may want to retain every name
and address sent to you, on either a computer or
a hard copy and keep the notes people sent you.
This verifies that you are truly providing a
service. (Remember to wrap the $1 bill in the
note to prevent mail theft.) So, as each post is
downloaded and the directions carefully followed,
six members will be reimbursed for their
participation as a list developer with one dollar
each. Your name will move up the list
geometrically so that when your name reaches the
#1 spot you will be receiving thousands of
dollars in CASH!!!!! What an opportunity for only
$6.00 ($1 for each of the six people listed
above) Send it now, add your own name to the list
and you're in business! DIRECTIONS: HOW TO POST
TO NEWS GROUPS STEP 1: You do not need to retype
this entire letter to do your own posting. Simply
put your cursor at the beginning of this letter
and drag your cursor to the bottom of this
document, and select "copy" from the edit menu.
This will copy the entire letter into the
computer's memory. STEP 2: Open a blank notepad
file and place your cursor at the top of the
blank page. From the edit menu, select "paste."
This will paste the copy of the letter into
notepad so you can add your name to the list.
STEP 3: Save your new notepad file as a .txt
file. If you want to do your postings in
different settings, you'll always have this file
to come back to. STEP 4: Use Netscape and
Internet Explorer and try searching for various
news groups (on-line forums, message boards,
chat sites, discussions.) STEP 5: Visit these
message boards and post this article as a new
message by highlighting the text of this letter
and selecting "paste" from the edit menu. Fill in
the subject, this will be the header that
everyone sees as they scroll through the list of
postings in a particular group, click the post
message button. You're done with the first one!
CONGRATULATIONS,...THAT'S IT! All you have to do
is jump to different news groups and post away,
after you get the hang of it, it will take 30
seconds for each news group! **REMEMBER, THE MORE
NEWS GROUPS YOU POST IN (MESSAGE BOARDS ETC.) THE
MORE MONEY YOU WILL MAKE!! BUT YOU HAVE TO POST A
MINIMUM OF 200. That's it! You will begin
receiving money from around the world within
days! You may eventually want to rent a P.O. Box
due to the large amount of mail you will receive.
If you wish to stay anonymous, you can invent a
name to use as long as the postman will deliver
it. **JUST MAKE SURE THE ADDRESS IS CORRECT** Let
me break it down, say I receive only 5 replies,
so then I made $5 with my name at #6 on the
letter. Now each of the 5 persons who just sent
me $1 made the MINIMUM 200 postings, each with my
name at #5 and only 5 people respond to the
original 5 people. That is another $25 for me.
Now those 25 people make the MINIMUM 200 post
with my name at number 4 and only 5 replies each,
I will make $125. Now, those 125 people post the
MINIMUM 200 postings with my name at #3 and only
get 5 replies each, I will make an additional
$626! OK, now here's the fun part each of those
625 people post a MINIMUM 200 with my name at #2
and they only get 5 replies that just made me
    $3,125!!! Those 3125 people send a MINIMUM 200
postings and they only get 5 replies each with my
name at #1, I will receive $15,625!!! With an
original investment of $6!!!! AMAZING!!!! . When
your name is no longer on the list, you just take
the latest postings in the news groups and send
out another $6 to names on the list putting
yourself at #6 and start posting again. Thousands
of people are joining the internet each day and
they are reading articles like these just as you
are right now. So this can never be played out
just keep it going and you can make tons of money
too!!!! Please try it now and make big bucks in a
few short weeks!!!!!! What do you have to lose?

  • JDK for Remote Manager

    Hello,
I'm facing a problem here, l'd be grateful if someone could help me.
I'm trying to install Remote Manager in an environment that has Windows Server 2003 64-bits as the OS and Intel Xeon as a processor. The objective is to make Oracle Identity Manager to connect to Microsoft Exchange 2007.
In Oracle Documentation I found the following instruction:
"f Microsoft Exchange 2007 is running on 64-bit Microsoft Windows Server, then you must install the 64-bit version of JDK 1.4.2_15 or JDK 1.5 before you install the Remote Manager."
Here is the link for the documentation: http://download.oracle.com/docs/cd/E11223_01/doc.910/e11198/deploy.htm#BGBDIEAE
The problem is that both versions of JDK don't offer support for Xeon processors and just JDK 1.6 can be installed on architecture x64. (Windows)
Here is the link for Sun Website wich shows the supported architectures for JDK 1.5: http://java.sun.com/j2se/1.5.0/system-configurations.html
    And for JDK 1.4.2_15: http://java.sun.com/j2se/1.4.2/system-configurations.html
Does anyone had this problem ever? Hope I can find some help in here.
    Regards,
    Richard

The remote manager is has not been certified with JDK 1.6.
This basically leaves you with two choices:
    1. Install JDK 1.6 and see if the remote manager runs. If so you have to make the decision of either running an uncertified configuration or try to force Oracle to certify this JDK.
    2. Wait until Oracle certifies JDK 1.6
I would recommend trying to install JDK 1.6 and run a full set of tests. Then make the decision on if you want to go to production or not.
    Best regards
    /Martin

  • Please help! JDK for Mac

Hello, I'm wondering if anyone could help me (probably anyone because it is such an easy problem). I've been developing simple applications in Windows 95 using a simple text editor and MD dos as a compiler. Now I've moved to an Apple (using OS 9.1) and I can't seem to find where I can download the latest JDK for this platform. Also, what programs would be best for writing and compiling and where can I find them? Thankyou very much

Apple has not implemented Java 2 on Mac OS 9.x, only on Mac OS X. Under Mac OS 9.x you are limited to JDK 1.1.8 available at:
    http://www.apple.com/java/
Please note that you may or may not have to add the Swing classes.
There are many development environments for the Mac including MPW and CodeWarrior. A good editor for the Mac is BBEdit, my choice for "raw HTML coding" software for the Mac. Gives you ultimate control over your HTML layout, plus tons of tools for HTML checking and tweaking. From Barebones Software at:

  • Supporting JDK for weblogic 12.1.2.0

    Hi,
We have installed weblogic 12.1.2.0 with RHEL 5.6 and oracle hotspot JDK 1.7_15.
We are running the server side applications in "Production Mode", my doubt is whether the above mentioned JDK is recommended to run the server in Production Mode.  I didn't found any
suitable JRockit JDK for this weblogic 12.1.2.0 release.  Please provide any information regarding this.
    Regards,
    Ananda Krishnan S

    Hello Ananda,
Though MOS Certification tab shows that JRockit 6u33 R28.2.4+ is certified to run with WLS 12c(12.1.2.0) on RedHat Linux5, I do NOT encourage you to go for that in your PROD environment for the following notes:
    1. Oracle JRockit Not Supported For Execution of WebLogic Server 12.1.2 Server Applications:
    http://docs.oracle.com/middleware/1212/wls/WLSRN/issues.htm#BCFBDIEG
    2. JRF Domains Do Not Support JRockit in 12.1.2:
    http://docs.oracle.com/middleware/1212/core/RNINF/upgrade.htm
    3. The same info can be verified downloading the following file inclided in "Oracle Fusion Middleware Supported System Configurations" OTN page:
    http://www.oracle.com/technetwork/middleware/fusion-middleware/documentation/fmw-1212certmatrix-1970069.xls
All the above notes tells/clarifies the same info:
In Oracle Fusion Middleware 12.1.2. JRockit is supported only for WebLogic Server client-side applications, but not for execution of WLS server applications.
    Hope that helps,
    Murad

  • Java 6 JDK For MBP 2012 ML?

Hi. I want to pursue Java programming, but I need the JDK (java deveopment kit) for Java 6 for Mac... I went to Oracle's site and they have a ton of different downloads. There is an FAQ for mac users but they provide no information what so ever for downloading the correct JDK... Does anyone know where to get the java 6 JDK for mac ml?
Much less important, and just a side question, does anybody know if the LWJGL- lightweight java game library (for Java computer games) from lwjgl.org is a safe thing to download? I need it to fix an audio issue with a game.
    Thanks.

Sounds like you have a lot to learn here and I'm probably not the right person to be giving you advice since I've never even been close to doing anything beyond using Java. I do know enough to be dangerous, but limited mostly to it's vulnerability these days and most of how it interfaces with OS X, but there's still a lot of holes in my knowledge base, especially these days.
My impression was that you planned on doing Java 6 development since you were asking about obtaining it's JDK. I couldn't help but wonder why you wanted to start there, but figured you had a reason. Java 6 is all but obsolete now and although there is still a bunch of code that requires it, I don't see any point in developing anything new there.
But to try and answer your last set of questions....
I also need to install the Java 7 Update 15 right? From the Oracle Website?
Yes, but if you are going to use it for development you will need to get the JDK from Oracle, not the JRE from java.com. Go to Java SE Downloads and under "Java Platform, Standard Edition" use the download button under "JDK".
Whenever I go to terminal it says 1.6.0_41, that is due to the fact that there is technically 'two' java's on a mac, correct?
The Terminal process "java" only knows about one set of Java code and for now that is Apple's because it knows where Apple stores Java SE 6. I am told that once you install JDK 7 then it comes with a new "java" process which only knows where Oracle stores Java SE 7, so it will start reporting only 1.7.0_xx.
It's not unusual for there to be more than one Java installed. For years there have always been two to three versions at the same time. You controlled which ones were enabled by using the Java Preferences app. It usually wasn't a problem to have more than one enabled as the software application would look for the one it needed and only use it. There is no more Java Preferences and the Java Control Panel only controls Java 7, so there seems to be no way to enable or disable Java 6 when it is installed. Apple says it's not required, so maybe it isn't important.
we have realized that there are two versions: the one that terminal tells you about, which I have. and the one that is either in 'system prefs' or the ultility 'java prefs', which I do not have.
The other (Oracle's Java 7) is only controlled using the Java Control Panel which can be accessed from System Preferences->Java and you apparently don't have it yet.
That means that I do not have the Java installed that the exploit has to do with, correct?
That's not at all important. Both have many vulnerabilities, just not exactly the same ones.
I suppose Oracle's version and Apple's version just use the same numbering which confuses me/other people.
Not sure how you came to that conclusion. I thought I had been pretty clear that Apple provided Java SE 6 1.6.0_41 and below and Oracle now provides OS X users with Java SE 7 1.7.0_xx and above.
Lastly, when you install the Oracle Java SE 7 JDK, your browser plug-in will be changed to Java 7. I've probably already said this, but unless you need to use Java with your browser you should only enable it when you must visit a trusted site and only while you are there. If, for any reason, you need to revert to the Java SE 6 Apple plug-in, then you will have to go through the procedures shown in the document Java for OS X 2013-001: How to re-enable the Apple-provided Java SE 6 web applet plug-in and Web Start functionality

  • I feel like a complete idiot....  JDK for Linux question....

I downloaded the JDK for Linux... and I have a small problem...
It says "permission denied" when I attempt to access the file..
Now I imagine this might not have anything to do with Java... ((Opening the file as root does nothing either.. I get the same response))...
It just seems really odd that "root" would lack permission to do this, so I am wondering if there is something I am missing in this...
(PS- I can download and install the JDK for Win95 just fine :-) )
    [email protected]

It would seam that you do not have the right permissions set on the executable but your question was to vauge witch file are you trying to access when you receive this message? what group are you in ?
I can probably help if you furnish me with more info.

  • JDK for apple

    Hello all,
I'm just starting out with Java programming. I have installed JDK on my windows machine, but I also wanted to develop on my apple ibook. I have a developer CD that was given with my apple machine that has jdk... but I also wanted to know if the latest version is available online. • JDK for 486 with 12Mb of RAM

Im wondering whats the best version of jdk for a 486 Computer with 12mb running Windows 95. I want to be able to compile simple java programs and run them. Im only learning java so I wont need many of the features in modern java but still want to be writing code that complys with newer versions of java. If you have suggestions please reply or email me at [email protected] a.s.a.p. as im in a real hurry! Id really appreciate any help.
    Thanks,
    Eric

download JRE !not JDK and use jikes as compiler
    or download IBM's jdk for win3.11 ;)
both jikes and jdk (win 3.11) can be found at http://alphaworks.ibm.com/
another solution is to use ms java runtime (included in win95) and jikes again for compiler.
Note that msjava is jdk 1.1.4 and is not Java 2 compatible (neither java 1 - sometimes;)

Try htt://www.blackdown.org. Their 1.2.2 status page shows SPARC releases. I didn't check on the 1.3.x status page.

  • Critical security patch JDK for ODSEE

    Hi Experts,
I have a critical security patch update from Oracle for JDK.
Oracle Java SE Critical Patch Update - June 2012:
    http://www.oracle.com/technetwork/topics/security/javacpujun2012-1515912.html
    Current version of JDK :jdk1.5.0_16
Upgrade version od JDK required :jdk1.5.0_36
I wanted to ask do i need to install this patch for ODSEE 6.3 version.Directory server runs with an in-build jre.
I would be changing the JDK version for SUn app server and DSCC and directory proxy server.
Do i need to upgrade the JDK for Oracle Directory Server 6.3?If yes, what would be process to upgrade JDK for ODSEE.
    Thanks,
    Ishmeet

We moved to JDK 1.6.0 b22 some time back due to issues with the performance running with the supplied JDK (at Oracle Supports request)
    You then use dpadm set-flags /path/to/my_instance jvm-path=/path_to_java/jdk1.6.0_22/
After you restart it will use the JDK specified
