JDK needed before installing 9i lite on Windows

JDK 1.3 is needed before installing 9i lite on Windows.
But I only can find J2RE or SDK on java.sun.com
Is there any link to find JDK 1.3 ?
Thanks

I installed the sdk from sun homepage and it works fine. (haven't installed JDeveloper though)

I forgot to back-up my information (pictures, excel documents) on MAC before installing boot camp and Windows.  I am mid-way through the process, at the point where I need to install the drivers. Will i be able to retrieve my documents on MAC and finalizing the Windows 7 installation (for the 1st time) or not?
I am worried that  may lose my information... Appreciate any feedback! Note: already half-way in the process of installing!

Yes, IF you picked the right partition, as in the Boot Camp partition. If everything is done right you should be able to boot into the Mac side.
If you already booted into Windows and are at the point of installing the Boot Camp Drivers your already done installing Windows! Yea! All you need to do is just install the drivers and everything should work normal.
The Windows partition and the Mac partition are seen as two different HD's now as far as the computer knows.
You can use the Boot Camp control panel in Windows to boot into the Mac side and the Startup Disk in System Preferences on the Mac to switch to Windows. If you can't then press and hold down the Option key untill you get the boot screen.

Do I need to install boot camp on Windows 7 as well as on Lion? I already installed it some years ago on Leopard when installing Windows Vista on my Macbook Pro. But now after installing Windows 7, many things in windows doesn't work (sound etc.). I made a clean installation because I needed to go from 32 bit to 64 bit.
Or should I just update bootcamp in Lion? (cause when I search for "boot camp" in Windows 7 there's no result)

  • Need to install Linux keeping the windows 8 os .

Hello,  I have a HP notebook laptop running windows 8 in it. My laptop is covered under warranty for another 18 months. I need to install another OS like Ubuntu in my PC in order to run some softwares as a part of my acads. But I also need Windows 8 for my general usage. I read somewhere that I will lose my HP warranty if I boot my system or try to install another OS than what came with the PC.  Is this true? Having warranty for my laptop is as important as having dual OS in my PC. Is there a way to install another OS on the current Windows without endangering my warranty? Also, I need Ubuntu only for this semester, so if I install it now will I be able to remove that later again keeping my warranty safe? I am unable to ask any of my friends or seniors regarding this because many of them know how install and uninstall OS but no one is assuring me regarding my warranty. Hope to find a solution here.

again people respond with the wrong help info. You simply need the PARAGON NTFS DRIVER FOR MAC. gives you full read and write support from your mac side to your bootcsamp side. You will always be able to read your mac side contents from your bootcamp side and also copy from mac to bootcamp while in windows mode. But buy the paragon ntfs $20 driver and you will be fine. Ive had it for years without any problems. works perfectly and easily. It also allows you to verify and repair your bootcamp partition from within disk utility on your mac side.

Hi, I have downloaded the two files to install Flash CS4 for Windows from here: http://helpx.adobe.com/uk/creative-suite/kb/cs4-product-downloads.html
Unfortunately, there is no explanation whatsoever provided regarding how to use the two files, and how to install my product.
I feel like I am missing something obvious here, but can someone please explain.
    Kind regards,
    Finn.

Try uninstalling then run the Adobe Cleaner Tool
Use the CC Cleaner Tool to solve installation problems | CC, CS3-CS6
Then double click the .exe file again.
What do I do with the .7z file?
Nothing. That's is an archive of files used by the .exe file during the installation process.

  • I need to install Linux on my windows xp and then Oracle on Linux OS.

I like to know how I can install Linux OS on my home computer which has Windows XP. Next thing like to do is to install Oracle 9i or 10 g on to Linux operating system. Please let me know what steps are required to accomplished this task.
    Thanks

If you want to keep your XP installation then:
    1. Use gparted (GNU partition editor) live CD to create a new partition on your hard disk.
    2. Install linux on the new partition.
    3. The best way to load Linux is to use your default boot loader which is NTLDR, in order to activate your Linux boot loader - grub or lilo.
    4. Install Oracle on Linux.
You should read installation guides which can be easily found with a search engine. Make sure that you do every step only after you are familiar with all components and steps.
    Good luck!

  • Windows 7 do i need an install

I have just recieved a new mac with OS Lion do i need an instalation disc to load windows 7

Not all that difficult. But you do need to be careful at one particular point (formatting the Boot Camp partition).
    1. Use Boot Camp to create a partition for Windows to be installed on. It can be part of the drive OS X is on, part of another drive, or you can devote an entire separate drive to Windows. You are asked this at the beginning of the process. If you use part of a drive formatted as HFS+, it will automatically set up an initial split of 32 GB. There's a couple of problems with that. One, that's not big enough to hold even just Windows 7. Two, Boot Camp can only setup a FAT32 partition for Windows since Microsoft has never licensed NTFS to anyone. So what you do is have the Boot Camp utility in OS X create the initial partition. If you've applied the partition for Windows on a drive already in use by OS X, drag the line it will show you between the new 32 GB FAT32 partition and the OS X partition to make it smaller or larger. You'll have to make it larger of course, so make sure to give yourself enough space for Win 7, and the apps you think you'll be installing.
    2. Once you've set up your partition, or a whole drive, the Mac then boots to the Windows 7 DVD. As soon as you are able to make the choice from the Windows setup sequence, choose the option to format a disk. Any Apple HFS+ partitions will appear as unknown, while the FAT32 drive will be recognized, and will be named BOOTCAMP. Choose that partition and do a quick format to NFTS. Then proceed with installing Win 7 on that drive.
    3. After Windows 7 has finished installing (through a few restarts) you won't quite be done. You'll notice that the graphics in Windows likely won't be very good, and in general running kind of slow. That's because the Windows DVD has no drivers for Mac hardware. Remain at the Windows 7 desktop.
    4. From the Windows 7 desktop, put the Snow Leopard disk in the drive. Windows will pop up the usual message about what you want to do with an external drive. Choose "Run Setup". It will run for a while as the drivers for your Mac hardware are installed for Win 7.
I don't know how this part works for a Mac that came with Lion. If you purchased Lion on a flash drive, you may need to plug that in for the initial drivers from that instead. Read the Boot Camp instructions for Lion. It should walk you through what you need to do.
    5. Once that's done, you'll have menu icon in Windows for Apple Software Update. Run that to see if it needs to download and install any other Boot Camp updates, which would any updated Win 7 drivers for you Mac. These will be Windows .exe files. So don't try to install the driver updates from OS X.

  • Installing BI Services as Windows Service

    Hi All,
I am on 64 bit windows server 2008, I have done a simple install of obiee 11g. So I have only Admin Server
    and no managed server.
I need to install the weblogic as windows service. And this is what i have done till now
    1. Modified the boot properties file to enter the login and password (weblogic/Welcome1)
    2. Set system environment variables BI_ORACLE_HOME and JAVA_HOME
    3. Modified the installsvc.cmd file to enter the following
         a.
         b.
         c.-log:"E:\MW_OBI\user_projects\domains\bifoundation_domain\AdminServer-stdout.txt
    4. created the installAdminServer_service.cmd file with following contents
    echo off
    SETLOCAL
    set DOMAIN_NAME=bifoundation_domain
    set USERDOMAIN_HOME=%Middlewarehome%\user_projects\domains\bifoundation_domain
    set SERVER_NAME=AdminServer
    set PRODUCTION_MODE=true
    call "%Middlewarehome%\user_projects\domains\bifoundation_domain\bin\setDomainEnv.cmd"
    call "%Middlewarehome%\wlserver_10.3\server\bin\installSvc.cmd"
    ENDLOCAL
5.Now when I run this, it does run something but doesn't install the "beasvc %DOMAIN_NAME%_%SERVER_NAME%"
    service as expected.
This is the extract from my installsvc.cmd file. What is that I am missing? Is there any variable which
needs to be set. What could be the issue. Does this work for 64 bit machine?

    Hi Ronny,
The procedure does work for 64-bit machines. I have done for OBIEE 11.1.1.5 on Windows 2008 64-bit machine.
In your installAdminServer_service.cmd file, turn on echo and check if you get additional information. This will help you know which steps are getting executed and which aren't.
Also, you can cross check your steps with document on Oracle Support - How to Install MS Windows Services For FMW 11g WebLogic Domain Admin and Managed Servers.

Upgraded to Windows 10. When the desktop came up Vaio Care was uninstalled and then reinstalled automatically. When I opened Vaio Care I noted I had a duplicate link for the program accelerator under the premium tools so I uninstalled Vaio Care and ran a registry cleaner and then downloaded Vaio care again from the software and driver page for my Windows 7 - VPCEB11GX. When I attempted to install got a message that it was the wrong software for my operating system and noted I need to install Vaio Care for Windows 8.1 64 bit. Can you please direct me to a download link for same? Thanks.

I have one question about Oracle Lite for Windows CE on Handheld/PC.

  • Do I need to install CS3 on Windows 7 64 bit before installing CS5 Upgrade?

I am replacing a graphic designer's Windows Vista laptop with a Dell Precision T5500 desktop.  Do I need to uninstall CS3 from the laptop and decommission the serial number?  Then do I need to install CS3 on the new desktop before installing the CS5 upgrade?  I was told I needed to decommission the installation, but I don't remember having to do that with other installations.  Thanks in advance!

You should definetly deactivate any software before uninstalling. But you don't have to install CS3 in order to install CS5. Just have the serial number handy for verification. That said, depending upon the user's needs, you might want to leave CS3 available.
