JDK1.3 and Netmeeting Not compatible??  Need expert opinion! Thanks!! :)

Hi Everyone!! :)
I have researched this topic and have not been able to find a decent answer yet. So I'm asking the experts now!! :)
I have a java application written and compiled in jdk1.3. When a user runs this application remotely through netmeeting, they only get an intial gray frame, but nothing shows up on it. The menus and other GUI stuff ARE usuable, just not visible to the user. NOTE- if watching from the computer where the application is actually run from, everything initializes just fine. I've read that this is a problem in general with jdk1.3. Has anyone had any success with jdk1.4 and Netmeeting? Or does anyone know of a way to get to force jdk1.3 to work with netmeeting?? The later of the two would be preferable due to compatiblity issues with other programs and jdk1.4...
If I find something useful myself, I'll post it, but right now I've hit a dead end. ANY ideas would be great! ;)
Thank You!!
Katie

Sounds odd...I'm sure that the same technology used in Netmeeting was used in Remote client access...and I can run my applets thru Remove access with no problems. I usually find problems like this are related to a graphics problem...like colors too high, resolution too high, or the video acceleration is too high.

Let's first try the following document, only be sure that none of the boxes in the compatibility mode tab are checked (not just the compatibility mode box itself):

    Fluid and WebRunner not compatible.

    Hi,
For portability issues always develop applications using sun implementation which can be configured for any vendor application servers.
Web services developed with jwsdp will work in webloigc 8.1 simply, take the examples from sun and simply deploy it in weblogic 8.1 it will work like gem with simple settings.
Just change the libraries with jwsdp ones.Place the
jwsdp lib.How to do this is ; place all these jars in the classpath before the exisiting classpath configuration.
    Classpath=jwsdplibs;......
This is enough for deploying the webservice server side.
For using the client you have to change the default soap libraries used by weblogic with sun jar files.
See example from bea for client implementation.override the system property.

  • HT1386 I backup my boss iphone to my pc, i copy the backup file to his PC, can he restore the backup to his iphone using his pc and will not reset his iphone.  Thanks so much

    Hi,
I backup my boss iphone to my pc, i copy the backup file to his PC, can he restore the backup to his iphone using his pc and will not reset his iphone.  Thanks so much

Put the device in DFU mode and restore.
When he gets back to the computer that he normally syncs with, he can restore from his backup.  Everything since that last backup will be lost.
Start apologizing now... keep it up for a few months to several years.
Then hopefully you will learn to leave other peoples stuff alone.

  • After installing Firefox 6 it disables java 6.0.26 and says "not compatible...". The last version ov java is 1.6.0.26 which is what most users use. What is the solution?

This morning I installed Firefox 6 and it says that it is not compatible with Java Console 6.0.26 and it is disabled. I am using Windows 7 Professional 32 bit. Is this normal?

Not quite true certain web pages need java and are NOT working correctly at the moment .

  • " This version of CS6 Photoshop and Illustrator not compatible with my computer"

CS6 Photoshop and Illustrator are not compatible with my computer. Is there a downloadable version of CS6 Photoshop and Illustrator that is? I downloaded in both the CS6  Design and Web Premium and individually, neither worked. I have a Mac OS X Version 10.6.8

No. if that message comes up, you are running on an old first generation Core Duo processor on an iMac/MacBook/ Mac mini and it simply is not compatible, no matter what version of OSX. It lacks specific chip components required for the code.

  • IPod and iTunes not compatible with WinXP

It appears that the iPod (I have a 4GB nano) and iTunes (I tried what was on the CD, as well as the latest download of 6) are not compatible with Windows XP Media Center Edition (patched to the hilt, all the latest updates installed).
Installation works fine but iPod updater does not terminate cleanly and the iPod nano does not get rebooted properly, and although iTunes sees the iPod when it is plugged in, it does not recognize it from plug-in to plug-in (it's supposed to remember the name of the iPod device, and not re-prompt you to register, etc.).
Also, when attempting to copy MP3 files to the iPod, it appears as though they are copying but they do not wind up on the iPod no matter how hard you try.
Windows 2000 SP4, however, does not have any problems with the iTunes or iPod updater software and everything seems to work just fine.
It would behoove Apple to investigate the compatibility problem that their software has with Windows XP Media Center Edition, and fix it as soon as possible.

When i startup itunes it says:
"The software required for communicating with the ipod is not installed correctly. Please reinstall itunes to install the Ipod's software"
I am on xp media center edition 2005
When I run the ipod updater it gives me "ipod service error"
    What can i do?
I bought the 4gb nano just yesterday.
both my ipod and itunes software are the Updated September 23, 2005 versions
ps on my old pc with winxp sp2 barebones edition, it works fine...
maybe its cos in mce 2k5 i got 2 users?

  • IPhone and iHome not compatible?

I have a 1st gen iPhone and an iHome that says on the box it is compatible with iPhones and both were purchased from the Apple store.
I've been using the iHome with my iPhone for a couple of months with no issues, but today all of a sudden, I tried docking my phone and a message popped up on the screen saying, "This device is not compatible with the iPhone" and that I had to put it into Airplane Mode and would not be able to make or receive calls.
I unplugged the iHome, turned my iPhone off and back on and continued to get the message repeatedly.
I don't understand how it could stop working so suddenly. Any suggestions?

Have you tried the recommendations in this article?

im on osx snow leopard but the lion is no longer available on app store. How can i still upgrade to lion? my computer by the way is not compatible with mountain lion. thanks

    Hello royalaqua,
I do think you should ask yourself if upgrading to Lion is the right course to take.
Snow Leopard is an excellent OS and Lion has literally been frozen out after barely a year.   Remember too that some of your apps may not work with Lion (those that have Rosetta, for example) so that could mean more new purchases.   Plus you may need to uprate your RAM too.

  • Upgraded to CC for LR5...and LR5 not compatible with 10.6??

I wish I would have known this before I went to the expense (this early).
I downloaded all of the updates for 10.6, and it is still not high enough, apparently.
What do I need to do to make my OS compatible with LR5? (or is that even possible??).
Sorry for my stupid question. I am a relative Mac newbie.

Thank you....and will that upgrade to Mtn Lion mess anything else up on my Mac? I need to be able to run CS6, also. I'm assuming that since I have to have the Lion for LR5 that the CS6 will be fine? I am reading some HORRIFIC reviews on line.

  • Ive been using the ant tool ar sincw i had firefox all of a sudden i rest art and sais not compatible with my version// How can that be

it suimply stopped working and when i tryed to reinstallit it sais not compatible

Is it the Ant Toolbar you are trying to use? [https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/video-downloader-player/ https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/video-downloader-player/] . The developer hasn't made the toolbar compatible with Firefox 10 yet. There is a Beta version which is compatible with Firefox 10, however BE VERY CAREFUL when installing Beta software. It may just be better to wait until an official release.

  • IE11 and SharePoint not compatible

The calendar on SharePoint sites is not displaying properly in Internet Explorer.
It was fine until today. Yesterday it looked the same as it always has, but today it looks completely different and there are no events displayed. It is stripped of all design and features, almost like the script that runs the calendar is being blocked.
The calendar displays perfectly sin other browsers. Chrome, Firefox, etc.
The problem is just in IE, and just started happening today.

That shows that Compatibility View can be a workaround.  That means the user's browser makes requests as if it was an IE7 operating in Quirks mode.  You can also use the Developer Tools Emulation tab to achieve the same (or more appropriate) workaround
(F12, Ctrl-8); however, then it would have to be applied each time it was needed.
The real fix would have to be on the server, to make it recognize the new IE11 User-Agent string and not make incorrect assumptions about its capabilities.  Otherwise, it is also possible for an override to be specified in IECompatData.xml which would
be more persistent than either of those user applied overrides.  The user would just have to tick the
Use Microsoft Compatibility lists  box in the  Compatibility View Settings  (Alt-x b)
In order to get some action started either way you can report the problem here:

  • DVR's and Apple, not compatible

I have a Q-See 444 dvr and want to see my cameras on the mac. I downloaded a PSS program supposedly designed for macs but couldn't get it to work. One of Q-See's techs said they were waiting for a firmware update from Apple but I think she was just blowing me off.  Any suggestions?

Also I tried contacting Meye and have yet to get a response from them as to their DirecTV DVR compatibility.  Sent it 24 hours ago.
If your Mac is genuinely running 10.4, it isn't even compatible with Netflix streaming.    Later versions of 10.4 may work with Netflix if your Mac is Intel, but not G5.   And while Flash does exist for PowerPC, many places require more power for video.  You may find an old compatible standard.   http://www.elgato.com may have an old solution that would work for you.   I would contact them and ask.   I though don't presently have the money for some of their solutions, so I can't say which would be best for you.
