Jellybean and Wi-Fi

I just updated my Droid Razr Maxx to the Jellybean software, now I can't connect to my home Wi-Fi.
I have already done a hard update, but nothing works. What should I do?

Turn off you modem, your router and your cell phone (before you turn it off go into settings and click on your home connection and delete or forget it)
After you have everything powered down, restart your modem first, then your router making sure the power cycles are complete. you then turn on your cell phone and go to settings wifi and see if the phone finds your ssid to your network. if it does click it and choose connect. put your password in and if that did the trick you will be on.
Now it has been said some older routers cannot work with the Jelly Bean update but it may be possible to do a firmware update to your router. just go to the maker of the routers web site for instructions on doing this task.
If it does not work after doing this you will have to get a newer modem or router. if the modem is supplied from your isp they may exchange a different one for your use. if it is a combo modem and router then they may replace that as well. if the router has to be replaced well you know you will have to pay for that, or get one from a friend if they have a spare.

AxBridge working on 1.4.2_06 and higher ?

Hi,
I tried to run a java bean on 1.4.2_06 and 1.5.0_01 but that doesn't work. I think sun did some major changes in their Axbridge since 1.4.2_06 because it was running well before on 1.4.2_04 and 1.4.2_05. I also tried the java bean samples (JellyBean) and i got the same error :

Someone told me that events from a Java Bean through axbridge to VB6 do not work with jdk1.4.2? I have had difficulty in getting my VB6 form to handle events thrown by my bean and have started to question whether it is possible at all.

My email account will not work after the jellybean update

I had a yahoo mail account linked to the e-mail service that comes with the galaxy s3. It worked fine. Now all it does is repeatedly notify me that sign in has failed. I have retyped in the account name and password numerous times.
Also if i download the yahoo mail application it works.
Why does it not work on the default e-mail application.
I have also tried to remove the account from the phone, it does nothing when i click remove account.
HELP PLEASE!

There is a problem with Yahoo Mail and the JellyBean update (4.1.1). I updated my Galaxy S3 yesterday from Ice Cream Sandwich to JellyBean and Yahoo Mail no longer automatically notifies me when new Yahoo mail arrives (Gmail still works fine though). I have Yahoo Mail configured in the phone's email client - the shortest auto-sync period available is 1 week!
I spent the whole day trying to get the phone's built-in email client to work with Yahoo Mail like it did before the upgrade with no luck.
The only way I get my Yahoo mail is to use the separate "Y! Mail" app, from Google's App Store, and check it periodically... that's a workaround, but I miss the auto-notification I had with ICS.

Galaxy Stellar and Emoji's ???

My kids all have Galaxy Stellars and have all just recently recieved the JellyBean 4.1.2 update. My wife and I have G3's and are also running 4.1.2. We are able to view emojis (or most of them) on the G3's but the Stellars do not. The Stellars still show the empty square in their place. I understood that the ability to view emojis was inherent to JellyBean and so the Stellars should be displaying them. Why aren't they and what can I do to get them too?? Is it something that Verizon/Samsung left out of the update for the Stellars? Emojis seem to be very important to my kids

Agreed! Emoji's are important, so let's get this fixed. What software build version is the Galaxy Stellars on http://vz.to/WWZylC? You should see Build JZO54K.I200VRBMA1. Are you using a Third-Party application to send emoji's? If so, try a different application to see if the emoji's appear. Keep me posted.

Incoming ring and text volume very low!

hi, have recently noticed that when i lower volume level for music,video,games,other media, it also reduces my ringtone and notification volume level too! (even though the slider bar level is on max for ringtones,notifications.) so if for e.g i lower video volume on youtube etc, it takes my incoming call and text volume down too! this never use to happen and only noticed when i saw led missed call,text, flashing.try your own z3c?

now check incoming call,text volume (very low on mine) so i have to reset music,video,games etc to max to hear incoming calls,texts but i dont want max volume for music,video,,,
b.t.w I'm still on kitkat 4.4.4 but as i said the volume levels could be individually adjusted since out of box.
now strange thing is my mate has the xperia sp and i checked his yesterday and he had same issue (jellybean) and because his volume level on video,games etc is low but max on ringtone,text he too misses calls and texts! (unless of course he sets max volume on the video,games). also using volume on side of phone has no effect either.
any ideas?

Android devices not getting push notifications after a while

We have just installed a new Exchange 2013 setup and started to move mailboxes across. Users that have Android devices though are noticing that push notifications are not reaching them and checking in the ECP I can see their last sync times are a long time
ago!
If they restart their devices then the sync occurs and push notifications work for about half a day then stop again.
We have no issues with any iOS devices getting push notifications. We have a range of Android JellyBean and KitKat deployed so not looking device related. If I turn off push notification on the Android device and force a manual sync every 5 minutes that
works and currently seems to be my workaround. But this will drain the battery quicker now.
The flow of notification would be simple, Exchange2013 > Firewall > Internet > Device
Anyone else experiencing issues like this and know what to check? We have checked all networking aspects and its not a network/firewall issue.

After hours of searching online and testing and troubleshooting I found the issue actually was affecting push notifications to all mobile devices on Exchange 2013 where their mailboxes had been migrated recently from Exchange 2010.
There is a bug in Exchange 2013 CU5 which I am on which causes issues after mailbox migrations and requires the ActiveSync app pool in IIS to require a restart after mailbox moves to function correctly.
After I completed an iisreset within a command prompt on the CAS server everything started working for push notifications.
Lets hope this gets fixed in CU6!

Unstable wifi when using my Samsung Galaxy S3. Any...

I keep seeing the wifi disconnect and reconnect. Anyone else see this?
I have no idea if the fault lies with the phone, hub, or a combination of both, just want to know if others have seen similar.

Same here with my s3 and the hh3, was random when it happened, might be ok for hours and then suddenly start dropping the wifi and reconnecting instantly.
Over on the XDA forums there was some tips and tricks, like turning off the power saving on the wifi on the s3 which is enabled by default, didn't help for me though and it seemed to happen more when my phone was running ics, updated to the official uk release of jellybean and it was alot better but still happened occasionally.
I had been thinking of ditching the hh3 for a while as it lacked features I wanted and earlier this week I installed a netgear wndr4500, great router by the way and I have no idea if it's a coincidence or not but I've never had a wifi problem on my s3 since.

StackOverflowError with XMLEncoder on my objects.

Works fine when I run the example:

I think the problem here may be that the BeanBox does not
remove itself as a listener from its components before it
tries to serialise them. The XMLEncoder works out that the
JellyBean and co have listeners (because they are derivatives
of Component - which has a getListeners() method) and will attempt
to serialise those listeners. I suspect that one of these is
the BeanBox itself - or a component inside it. If that component
also knows about the beans it contains there is a possibility
the archiving process will loop - though somthing odd is happening
as the XMLEncoder should detect identical instances in the object
graph and mark them with an "idref" attribute - rather than looping.
It may be that the BeanBox clones part of itself when certain
getters are called. (I don't have your code so this is all a
bit of a guess.)
Anyway, if you want to look at this sort of thing a better
place to start is the BeanBuilder which is availible on the
SwingConnection website. The BeanBox predates all of the
archiving work - whereas the BeanBuilder was purpose built to
demonstrate it and the other new features in SDK 1.4.

I am having a major screen drawing issue on multiple devices

Both a tablet using jellybean and a droid2 using gingerbread, pages are mostly drawn in lines.. Tried GPU, font size settings... Etc. Been a problem since upgrade from her 29.xx

Recent update floods my email account

Due to recent update one of my email account is getting flooded with old emails, I have over 6,000. There is no option to filter this any longer for this particular account which happens to be an Optonline.net account. My Gmail and Exchange have the option and there are no issues with those accounts. I have spoken with support if you can believe that and just when he was going to get higher up to talk to me the line dropped, conveniently. I put ticket in through my iPad and nothing happens. I am so disgusted with iPad, don't have an iPhone and don't ever want one. The only reason I have iPad is because it was a gift. Getting rid of this soon and going with a Microsoft Surface. In the meantime I get nowhere with Apple on this. I asked if they were working on a patch for other email accounts category that do not have icons in the iPad but get no response. Has anyone come across this also?

Help needed ## Sony care team don't believe me

Hi all, I have a Z1 c6903, I brought this phone from new as an unlocked to all networks phone from littlewoods only 4 months ago, now straight out the box it had android 4.4.4 kitkat, here's the problem...I sent it to Sony to fix a vibration on it, they sent it back to me fixed But changed the andriod from kitkat to jellybean?? I've messaged them emailed the contacted them but they Insist!! It's always been on jellybean and they haven't changed it, they don't believe me when I'm telling them IT WAS ON KITKAT 4.4.4...they downgraded it, all they tell me is try using your pc to update it, I HAVE... IT WON'T UPDATE... It's stuck on old jellybean 4., why is this?? It had kitkat, does anybody know why or whathe changed my phone? And how to update it to back to how it was, also thinking if it won't update to kitkat then it has no chance of updating to lollipop even though my friend has lollipop now on his Z1, I feel left behind about 3 years behind...

3G so slow internet is unuseable

I live in a coastal area where 3G is as good as it gets for the foreseeable future. For the past three or four months, my internet speed has been so bad that it's unuseable. I go to a news aggregator, click a headline to read and the links never open. It's always been slow, like 28.8Kb modem slow, which is useable so long as sites don't have much in the way of graphics. Not so any longer. Thinking about it, I don't know why I even try.
I'm using a Galaxy SIII updated to Jellybean and am out of contract so am free to move to another provider but they all share towers here and I'm not sure I'd get any better service elsewhere. Shouldn't I get a credit for against the fees I'm paying for data? Anyone else ever try this with Verizon?

Hello CapZap, Let's keep you cruising down the information superhighway! May I ask the zip code where you primarily use the phone? Have you run a speed test to get a better idea of the exact speeds you are seeing? Is this only affecting the experience when using the web browser or through all apps that use data? I would suggest clearing the cache and cookies in your web browser. While in the browser press Menu>Settings>Privacy and security>Clear cache and Clear all cookie data. Please test and let me know if the performance improves.
