Jerky, stutterry, not very smooth playback on apple tv2

i have recently converted some mkv 720p files using handbrakes appletv2 setting and when i watch them on my 40" sony tv the playback is a little bit 'jerky' i.e.not very smooth. if i watch the same file on my iMac I'm sure they play perfect. anyone got any ideas? would apple tv3 play them better ? or could it be my hdmi lead?

Volume control for video playback through Apple TV2

I am trying to configure the volume settings used on airplay through apple TV2 and a macbook pro and Iphone4 all with most recent updates.
I am using the apple remote app on my iphone to control the apple tv.
Whats working:
Using the pandora app on my iphone through aiplay to the apple tv, I can control the volume using the plus and minus buttons on the side of the iphone for volume control. Very cool and easy.
Using the apple remote app on my iphone I can control the itunes volume of different speakers by clicking on the airplay icon and using a slider. Not as cool as using the hard +/- buttons but still works.
Whats not working:
Controling volume on appleTV2 through the iphone remote app for video playbacks like netflix, and youtube.
Why I want this: RIght now I can control most of the multimedia right from my iphone including cranking the music up:) But when I switch over to video(Netlfix, Youtube) I have to get out another remote (stereo reciever) to control the volume. It seems we are so close to being able to control everything off the iphone, the only thing missing is volume control for video playback.
Is there a setting that can be changed or a solution I havent found?

Same problem with TV3. HDMI volume output is not adjustable, neither with the original Apple remote nor with any universal. Why ? Every simple settop-box is able to be volume adjusted. And a Mac Mini too ?!!!
I use a flatscreen TV. it has 3 HDMI inputs and one optical out for the audio going to an amp standing behind it. The sound of the TV is switched to go to the optical out.
HDMI 1 is connected to the satellite settop box with its own remote control ( channel +/-, volume +/- etc. ) it work s fine.
HDMI 2 is connected to the MacMini HDMI out with its own remote control ( channel/music +/-, volume +/- ) it works fine too.
HDMI 3 was connected to Apple TV3 with its own remote control ( channel/music +/- but no volume ). I sent the TV3 back to Apple.
What's going wrong in the mind of Apple ? Why is the HDMI volume output of the MacMini adjustable with the Apple remote, and the TV3 not ?
I want not to discuss, wether a 4th remote control is useful or not. I don't want it. I want to adjust the volume with the originl remote control of the specific unit I use, because I need it anyway. It worked since years, but not with Apple TV3.
How can we help Apple to open the volume +/- function on their own remote control ?

Poor Font Rendering - Not very smooth!

My fonts are rendering poorly in Indesign even when viewing at 100% viewed as High Quality Display.
Am working on an iMac - Indesign CC. Trying to put a Resume together. Macs own program "Pages" actually seems to be rendering smoother fonts.
Would appreciate any advice

Thanks Jeffrey much appreciated. Had already got AA ticked in preferences...although it is better than when turned off Fonts and dotted lines still look somewhat pixelated compared to say text in "Pages" - Macs version of Word.

However I noticed that the scrolling is not very smooth when using multitouch scroll, and can be quite jerky, particularly with Safari (I am using Chrome). I have already tried restarting in Safe Mode which didnt improve anything. It's not massively lagging but I feel like it should be smoother, especially with pages like Facebook.
Does anyone know why this might be or how to resolve it?

Jerky transitions in KN08 - not always - smooth in the previous version

Anyone experienced this as well?
Is it that "resource hungry"?
KN06 is smooth as butter, same presentation (relatively light) firstly loads good 10 - 20 secs full screen, and then is anything but smooth with regards to transitions (cube) - interestingly it is not jerky all the time - it's at random jerky and at random smooth... with same slides... sometimes going backward helps, sometimes doesn't
Very unpredictable and weird behaviour... Possibly in conflict with some other software I have loaded in memory (growl? quicksilver? menumeters? weatherwidget?)
any ideas how ti fix it? with next software update?

it happens with a "private" theme but also with some Apple themes that I tested... slides behave perfectly until I add a 3d chart...
I actually reinstalled OS X today - didn't help... interestingly the files somehow "learn" an become slightly smoother/better with time...

Magic trackpad jerky and not smooth lots of troubleshooting to no avail.

Uggg... so I swear this started a few days ago when I was trying to do the photo's upload (didn't work) but it might just have been coincidence...
My magic trackpad (bluetooth enabled using with my iMac) is crazy jerky and NOT smooth at any speed.... here is all the info... this is VERY strange.
A regular plugged in mouse works fine.
The trackpad IS jerky on other users.
I have cleaned it and dried it multiple times
Brand new batteries reading at 100%
Have un paired and paired it again.
Have paired the Trackpad with ANOTHER COMPUTER and it works FINE.
I am at a loss.
All software updates are up to date. I have turned bluetooth off and on.
Ugg... I literally can't think of anything else to do... I obviously am using this CONSTANTLY so any ideas would be much appreciated!

I have same Problem. I tried all options - Reset All Settings, Erase Content & reset all settings, Upgrated to IOS8.1, Restore using iTune. But problem persists.
When I turn Cellular Data or Wifi ON, then there is a lag while opening the Apps. But If I turn Data/Wifi off, phone becomes super fast. I have checked with my friends. They are not facing this issue. Not sure if Apple know this.

I have reset the phone, full firmware restore, even downgraded back from firmware 4.2.1 to .3.1.3 official by using dfu mode and still doesnt fix.
(i correctly got out of dfu mode after the downgrade)
i can enter dfu mode and recovery, and update through itunes with no problem, but it doesnt fix the problem,
i have searched and found no answer to this problem, every option availible to try that i know of i have tried and failed. i dont care about preserving my content i just want a fix. i have a good understanding how to operate software on a computer and shouldnt be too confused by any advice given, so plz even if the answer is very complex i wish to try anything, please help me to get my iphone working.

When ever I launch my safari, it will stay on for about a minute and then quits on me. It has a "safari quit unexpectedly" dialog box with a bunch of codes that I can send a report to apple. im not very good with this kind of thing, plz help!

Im not very good at troubleshooting, but I have played around with the system preferences. My airport connection is fine as well as the ethernet. Firewall says its not connected, (im not sure if that matters or not?)
I have subtracted my network from the list, restarted, and then put it back and and restarted...nothing seems to be working. Iam in the middle of a correspondace course and i really need my internet back...any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!

Could be many things, we should start with this...

Then try a Safe Boot, (holding Shift key down at bootup), run Disk Utility in Applications>Utilities, then highlight your drive, click on Repair Permissions, reboot when it completes.
(Safe boot may stay on the gray radian for a long time, let it go, it's trying to repair the Hard Drive.)

Sorry I misinterpreted what it was that you want to do. The following gives the current password requirements: Security and your Apple ID - Apple Support
There isn't any way to have a 6 digit numerical password -- as you already found. With the amount of password hacking going on currently, I suspect that if you were able to change it back you would be putting your account at a significant risk. Satellite L500-126 - CD/DVD drive does not open very smoothly

Hi,
I just got my second Satelite L500-126.
I exchanged my first one for a new one because the ESC key got stuck sometimes and made a squeaking sound.
Now with my new one, I noticed that my dvd drive does not open very smoothly and 2 little silver metal bars come out with the drive when I open it.
Is this normal?
Also, when I close the dvd drive i hear a little "ping!" sound.
Like a spring or something. Is this also normal?

Im not quite sure what you mean by 2 little silver metal bars but my notebooks drive contains two metals (runners, trackage).
This is normal and these parts are important to ensure that the drive could eject properly and could stay in right position.
You will always hear an short click opening and closing the drive.
So I assume this is ok.

Browser apps such as Skyfire, iSwifter, Puffin and Photon 'work' on some sites, but judging by their reviews not all sites. Also some websites, especially news sites, have their own apps in the App Store, and there is the built-in YouTube app.
