JES Install of MEssaging and requisite Admin Server

hi,
when doing this through the JES Orion installer im getting a config error in the GUI. when i look at the logs i see no errors.
the only thing the Installer asks for that im slightly confused about is the "Server root".
from the docs it would seem this means the path containing SUNWmsgsvr (i.e. the products you want to manage - which doesn't make alot of sense to me).
has anyone had any problems with this before?

"Server Root" mean path of LDAP. such as
/opt/LDAP

  • Vista Service Pack 2 install error message and Realtek incompatibility

Just want to inform that service pack 2 install gave me an error message when I installed it on a clean rebuild of my Toshiba laptop. Something about an incompatible driver. As I had already installed the latest drivers from Toshiba pages, I choose the 'ignore and continue' action at install, and the update successfully completed.
I then ran the Windows Upgrade advisor utility (just search a Microsoft website to find it) which checks for hardware/driver compliance with Vista.
Their report says that the Realtek RTL8187B wireless adapter driver has an issue with Vista, and recommends that the latest driver be installed. Since I do have the latest Toshiba driver installed, what is the procedure to follow?
The wifi connection with this laptop functions well, with the only 'problem' being a 45 second delay when waking up from sleep mode to being able to open a new web page. This is the time it takes to establish a connection to my router/modem.

    > Their report says that the Realtek RTL8187B wireless adapter driver has an issue with Vista, and recommends that the latest driver be installed. Since I do have the latest Toshiba driver installed, what is the procedure to follow?
You could try the Realtek WLan driver from the Realtek driver page.
There you can find the latest Realtek drivers for different Realtek chips.
But to be honest I would not be worried about this massage.
Something like that can happens always after any installations of the Microsoft service packs.
I remember that many drivers were not supported by SP1 but they ran properly
    So take it easy ;)

  • Cannot install admin server for jes 2005q1

I have been struggling for days to install the administration server for jes 2005q1 in order to support the Messaging Server. The directory server is on another server, so remote machine. The server root is set to the same path that it is on the directory server. I have installed both as root and diruser as the system user. The installer states that the admin server was successfully installed and the package is shown as added, however, the directory does not exist and the admin server files (start-admin, stop-admin, etc) are not on the box. Any suggestions would be great. Both servers are Solaris 8. Thanks.

start-admin, stop-admin, etc. is not on the app server, I did a find for it and it does not exist.

  • Starting weblogic cluster and admin server on Win 2000 platform

    Hi! Here's my problem scenario:
I'm running my WLS 8.1 application as WLS cluster on Win 2000 platform. I have
3 replicated WLS servers in my cluster and of course one WLS server as admin server
(4 WLS servers all together). I'm starting my WLS application using Win services
which behind a scene call win 2000 comand interpreter batch-file to start the
servers. Currently I have 4 different win 2000 services each calling different
batch-files to start a WLS server (4 all together). Here's my question:
Is there any way to start my cluster (3 managed WLS servers) and WLS admin server
from single win 2000 command file (using single win 2000 service). Using win 2000
AT-command interpreter command I can start executables and command(s) and command-files
at background at specific date and time, but I want to start my WLS application
on every win 2000 platform boot, is there any way to achieve this ???
    Best Regards!

    hi,
I am looking at a strange behaviour with WLS6.0SP1 installed on WINDOWS2000 Premium.
I brought up the Admin server and a Managed server. After a while theAdmin Server
    is compeletely
losing the control of the managed server (for no reason).
when I tried monitoring the managed server from the console, I couldnot
    access
    the manager server
and the status down (red ball). I tried restarting the Admin Server
in the discover mode - NO LUCK.
But when I restart the Managed server and go to the Web Based Admin
Console and refresh, it worked. But I dont think we should be doingthat
    in a
    production environment.
Did anybody come across such a problem before ???
Is this a problem with Win 2000 ???
coz' it never happened with NT workstation

  • Howto? JES Install of seperate instances?

I have installed the Messaging and Calendar services from a previous version of the JES stack. I now want to install these applications from the current release of the JES, but the installer doesn't let me because it already sees an installed version on the server.
Can I just unregister the JES software using "prodreg" without interrupting the operation of the software (i.e., does the Mail and Calendar apps need the product registry to run)?
    Phillip

The reason that I want to do this is because I installed schema I with the DS associated with the mail and calendar (2003Q4) so we could use the delegated administrator.
If I upgrade, can I change the DS to schema II?

    Hi Charan,
if your ManagedServers are not in Configured for MSI Mode (Managed Server Indepence Mode) then you wont be able to start your Servers until the AdminServer is Already Running. I can see that the Exception u pasted that...your AdminServer is not reachable....It may be due to AdminServer Vs ManagedServer BOX Network Issue or Your AdminServer might be down when u tried to start the ManagedServer.

  • How to find the capacity of admin server in weblogic server?

    1. how to calculate the capacity of admin server in weblogic 8.1 a admin server can handle how many requests at a time.
    2. if 50 threads are given to admin server then with this 50 threads how many messages/requests the admin server can handle???
    please help................

If your application is deployed to "all servers within the cluster", then the admin server should not be receiving any traffic. Your admin server should not be part of the cluster, and the application should not be deployed to the admin server. Your application requests should be directed to the managed server(s), such as with a load balancer.
For instance, if your cluster has managed servers which listen on:
    http://yourserver1:8020
    http://yourserver2:8020
with an admin server which listens on:
    http://youradminserverhost:7001
and your cluster is defined as consisting of the managed servers which listen on "yourserver1" and "yourserver2" - and does not include your admin server, then how can your admin server receive any application requests?

  • Managed server not communicating back to admin server - JMX issue?

    Hi,
I have a domain that consisted of:
    1) 2 managed servers deploying an EAR for online use on server A
    2) 1 managed server being used as a Queue Server for the JMS Module/JMS Server on server A
    3) 2 managed servers deploying an EAR for online use on server B
    4) 1 admin server to control the domain on server C
    Servers A, B & C are running win2k3 and I'm using WLS 9.2.3
We've been shifting our infrastructure and I was tasked with relocating the Queue server to a new win2k8 box, server D. To achieve this 3 options occurred to me (having configured the new machine in my domain):
    1) Change the IP address and machine for the Queue Server and then start it up on the new machine
    2) Create a new Queue server on the new machine, and re-point the targets of the JMS Server and JMS Module to this new Queue server instead of the old one.
    3) Create a new Queue server, new JMS Module and subdeployment and JMS Server, and all the JMS Queues (there are c.25)
I discounted option 3 due to the sheer amount of changes involved and the scope for error. I tested approaches 1 & 2 using a test domain on the new box first and all went well - the JMS queues could be populated and consumed following the migration to the new machine. For Production I went with approach 1 which was simplest.
However, despite the Queue server clearly working on the new machine (we've tested populating and consuming documents at both ends), for some reason it does not report back to the queue server - information such as it's health (e.g. OK, although it does report its state (e.g. RUNNING). Furthermore, the JMS queues no longer report their content - they all simply say "There are no items to display".
Looking in the Queue_Server_1.out file, I can see the following error occurred:

Now the IP address of the admin server itself is OK (I've XXX out part of the number as it's my client's machines) but it looks like it's trying to connect using the 'admin' protocol, when it should connect using t3s shouldn't it? Any ideas?

Hi there, thanks for your post. I can confirm that the IP and port can be reached as I've had the networks guys look at this. The issue seems to me to be related to the protocol used to establish the connection.

  • Installing 8.1 as a managed server

I am setting up an 8.1 domain . I need to have a managed server and the admin server
on the same machine . Is this possible ??
Do I need to install WLS twice ??
    Thanks

    Yes

Nope. You just need to create/configure a managed server either from
admin console or from config wizard.

  • Cannot stop admin server

    Hi all
I use scripts to stop and start admin server and cluster.
After include " -Xmanagement:autodiscovery=true,authenticate=false,ssl=false,port=11202" as JVM parameters, I cannot stop the admin server using stopWebLogic.sh.
If I stop from console it works.
This error seems a port conflict when trying to start a new JVM to stop Adminserver...

Could not create the Java virtual machine.
    Done

This is because the process to stop the JVM is also trying to use the same host/port combination for the remote JRockit monitoring as the same setDomainEnv script is likely called in either case. What you want to do is ignore those options when launching the JVM (the WLST script) that tells the server to shut down.
