Jesus wept somebody help (60Gb Creative Zen Vision

Well heres the deal, i've got me the 60Gb vision M, i bought when i li'ved back in England and have taken it travelling with me and now i li've in Vietnam, anyway the problem is that the touchpad to choose music, turn the volume etc is **bleep**ed, the buttons are barely responsi've AND i cant charge it from the mains only a pc!!! Grrrr... So far i've tried a few things, when i turned my zen on one day and it was **bleep**ed i just tried sticking a pin in the reset bit and that didnt work, i actually went out and bought a laptop so i could put all the music onto it so i didnt lose it all and have just tried reinstalling the firmware or whatever the fudge it is but that didnt work, i would try and do the format option whereby you hold the on switch on and jab a pin into the reset button but i've tried that and because my scroll button is fudged i cant scroll down to the format option and even if i could i dont know if the buttons would work or not. This is really hacking me off, all i want is my mp3 player back but i know its going to be a mission to do because of buying the mp3 off of amazon in england and now living in Vietnam (and the fact that i dont totally trust the vietnamese postal service) posting it back home, trying to get someone to send it to or get picked up by creative then having it sent back is going to take so long and be more trouble than its worth, so if anyone has any decent ideas on how to maybe resolve this problem other than throwing this thing at the wall with enough force to put a brick out of place and then buy a new mp3 player please let me know, peace out!!!

Try and start the Vision:M up and then put the player next to your ear. See if you hear the disk dri've making a clicking sound or repeatedly making the same series of noises. If the disk was acti've when you dropped it, there is a good chance that the disk drive has crashed.

I am also not sure about the function of the two buttons on the sides of the touch pad.
    Can anyone please clarify?
    Thanks,

  • Need help with Creative Zen: Vision M 60 gig vers

I have?a somewhat?complicated problem. I went to the store set on buying the largest possible storage space, that was not an Ipod. The salesman told me that the 60 gig version was not available at all where I li've (Norway). I believed him and, somewhat disappointed,?bought the 30 gig version instead (It didn't have enough?space for everything I intended to put on it). I went home, installed the program, inserted the player?and everything worked fine. It recharged normally, the media explorer could locate the player and I could transfer files back and forth. Then I went to my buddy's place, whose?50 gig, perfectly organized?music collection was my main reason for buying this thing. I wanted to copy his whole collection, but since I only had a measly 30 gigs, I only copied what I viewed as most essential. I was reasonably happy with my purchase. Imagine my surprise then when I browsed the Creative homepage and saw that you could have the 60 gig?Vision M shipped to Norway for only a meager increase in cost over what I had paid at the store. I cursed the?sleazy?swindler of a salesman, who?was probably trying to empty?his stocks,?and promptly went back to the store and traded in my 30gig for an imported 60gig?(I didn't have the balls to denounce the salesman, unfortunately). I received?my new gadget?a few days later. I was a little curious about whether my already installed Media Explorer would work with the new player, but it seemed to work fine without having to reinstall the program included in the new package. Not so on my buddy's computer. When I inserted the player in his USB dri've, the computer recognized it's(a notice popped up asking me what to do next time the player was inserted) but the Media Explorer did not. "Your player is not connected". Ah well. I brought out the CD and reinstalled the Media Explorer. Still nothing. I reinstalled everything that was on the CD. Nope, still can't find it. What?to do? I want that?music!!

  • Help With Creative Zen Vision M

    Hello.
My iPod was one of the versions with the known issue of the battery frying out after a year (of course it happened about a month after my warranty expired) so I went out and bought a Creative Labs Zen Player. Now I don't appear to be able to import any of the songs or videos I purchased on iTunes, and I purchased a lot. Can anyone tell me how I can convert these files, or am I just out of luck?
    Thanks
    Marc

Go to System (on the main menu)>Player settings>Protected Content Password and make sure Protected Content is set to 'Show' Then set a password. Go back to the main menu, and go to Videos>Video and pick a folder in there, press the dropdown menu button (The bottom right black button) ontop of that folder, and click protect. Go back to the Player settings menu (The one you went to before) and tap the touchpad on Protected content : Show, it should say Hide instead of show. Your folder is protected.

  • I need help with my Creative Zen Vision M 3

Hi!? So I was listening to my creative zen vision M 30g mp3 player when it froze in the middle of a song. I tried to reset it using the reset hole on the bottom. When I reset it, it rebooted to the recovery mode and it has been stuck there ever since. I tried using all the options on the screen, clean up, format all, reload firmware and the reboot. The only one that really works is the reboot. The other ones will go through the motions then stop and give me the message " hard disk problem"? anyway, I can fix this at home or do I have to send it away? I have had it for about /2 now so its factory warrenty has expired so I guess I am concerned about the cost of repair. At the same time however, It was almost $300 when I bought it so I dont want to just settle for the fact that it is now not working.
Any help or advice or similar stories would be helpful. Or cost?Amas2

  • HELP!!! Creative Zen Vision M - unresponsive in ANY way...NEED HELP!

Ok, so this might be a very simple question to answer, but I'm very worried.
Pretty much, I had been using my Creative Zen Vision M (30 gig) for a long time, but stopped about a year ago. The batteried drained, and I didnt get around to charging it.
Now, it's been about a year, and I've tried plugging in the Zen into my computers to charge.
There is NO recognition of the player, no yellow alert, no new device alert, NOTHING.
The blue light at the top DOES NOT flash
And My media explorer thinks that it is not connected to the computer.
I've read a lot about Zens going black, and the blue light keeps flashing, but literally, from the time I plug in the Zen, to when it's sitting on my shelf, I notice no difference. I cannot turn on the player and it wont charge.
I tried using USB ports in the back, as well as leaving the zen plugged in all day to "Charge". Over 8 hours later, and the player does not budge.
I do not own an adapter to the Zen, but I tried a 4.5V sony one, and recieved nothing.
    The simple question is:
After letting the player drain, and die after just under a year of no use, has my player bit the bisquit's
    OR
Is my battery (or firmware, which unfortunately I have no idea what it is, but it sounds like I can upgrade without having the player turn on) simply taking it's sweet time to recouperate.
PLEASE LET ME KNOW!!! I am very desperate to get my player working again.

Leave the player connected to the computer & use a REAR USB port(with the computer on) for 24hrs. Or use a wall charger to charge the battery . It may take a hour for it to just start charging plugged in but once it does let it FULLY charge. That means until it stops blinking the battery icon it full & the player cuts off when done. Now I know Creative wall chargers are not easy to find & they are not cheap. The Sony PSP wallcharger is compatible with the players adapter(plugs into the center hole on the dongle) Also to get it charging after it has been connected for a time hit the Reset? while connected. Not easy but doable with a thin pin.

  • Creative Zen Vision:M Problen, PLEASE HELP

I have had my Creative Zen Vision:M for a little over a year now. I has remained my favorite MP3 player by far in comparision to the rest of the competition. The problem I am having is that recently I went to transfer some music onto it after I hadn't done it in a while. I opened up the Creative Zen Vision:M Explorer, and to my dismay it said that the player was not connected. I have tried multiple reconnections with the wire, startup/shutdown many times even uninstalled and reinstalled the software but it always remains having the transfer files etc options faded out regardless of the player being connected or not. The Device manager has it listed without the yellow exclamation point so I know it is recognized by the computer but I am at a total loss for what to do now. Also, I have tried system restore to a time where it was working properly but to no avail it's the same thing. Any advice will be appreciated.

well im not really scared. but it won't wpork anymore. like everytime i turn it off reset it or reboot it. it would just show the recovery mode and nothign else. that worries me ebcause i can't get it to work as normal agains. =[ so yea. maybe the filmwire thingy would work.

  • Buying a creative ZEn Vision M Please help !

    Hi there
I am debating on buying a creative zen Vision M after two years of i pod problems. My issue is can u convert the music from the i tunes libary to the player? or will u lose all that music
    Thanks

--- If you have purchased the music from the iTunes Music Store, you will not be able to use the music on the player - iTMS music is iPod only.
There is a workaround (but it might not be legal, if you like to stay that way) - burn the music to a CD, then re-rip it in MP3 format using your favourite ripper. (iTunes will rip to MP3 - the option is under the 'Importing' tab on 'Advanced'.)
--- If your music is in AAC format, you can use a converter to change them into MP3. Be advised that this causes a major loss in quality - and if you own the CDs, you'll be better to re-rip them from scratch to ensure that they sound good.
You can do this conversion in iTunes - simply make sure that the format in the Advanced/Importing settings is set to MP3 (92kbps is fine for conversion). You can open the Settings window by clicking 'Preferences' in the Edit menu.
--- If your music is in MP3 format, you don't have to do anything! The ZV:M will play it nati'vely.Message Edited by Lokiz0r on 07--2006 09:8 AM

  • Creative Zen Vision:M - awful or no sound at

    Hello,
I have a problem with my Creative Zen Vision:M. The player has been running extremely slow for about 2 months and it was bought in January 2006. The player crashes when I play an mp3 file. The FM radio works just fine. I hear a lot of noise or the sound is choppy. I have tried formatting the player and update the firmware, but the problem still persists.
Could somebody please help me out with my issue? And also, if somebody has a link to an older firmware release, please provide one just to check if it is from the firmware.
    Thank you in advance!
    Regards,

Sounds like a hard-dri've problem - I'd try formatting the hard-dri've, if that doesn't help then I think you may need to return it to Creative to get it repaired. Sorry i can't be more positi've!

  • Creative Zen Vision: M 30 gb - DRM information corrupt or missing.....???????

So I just started having this problem yesterday but it seem I'm the only ever to have it. I've scanned every page I can and can't find a solution. Yesterday I started playing my music then all of the sudden it stopped. Granted I was having problems before even though I just got this unit a month..........! I sent an email and still haven't received a response.
Here's the problem. While listening to my music yesterday I encountered a message saying - Playback Error. This error persisted after changing the track. After going home and reformatting, reinstalling firmware, downgrading -> upgrading firmware, reformatting over and over and over again, disk clean up, system restore, reboots, default restore, reformatting, again reformatting, deleting every piece of information I could delete...... you might be getting the picture so far.... After doing all of this I was unable to download tracks again onto my MP3 player. The only ones I can upload are unprotected content. I got thinking maybe there is a problem in my DRM file..... Where is my DRM file on the MP3 player and how do I delete it's You can't. At least not what I found. So again I tried everything over and over again and nothing works. I'm at my wits end trying to figure this out. I have a 30gb Creative Zen Vision: M player, Windows XP/Vista 64, Napster ToGo and now I can't use my MP3. This unit is a month old and I cannot use it. PLEASE HELP ME. This is very long winded but I'm hoping this will help a little. Thanks in advance, I'm going insane without my music.

Well I have never used a service like that. That's all I can think of off hand.

  • Creative Zen Vision M

C I have had this player in the past and fell in love with it. I actually had two..both died...my own fault..long story. But anywho.... I know that Creative has them for sale refurbished. I really miss my Mp3 player...have not had one since January. I use my psp for my music. I was wondering if it would be a smart idea to buy one refurbished or not? I would rather buy one on here than any other place. Just looking for input. Thank you for any help in [email protected]

The ones my friends &I purchased a couple years ago were essentially new. They did not look used & I have never had any problems or issues with mine. Not even a freeze-up.My battery is still lasts a long time. I love it. I've repaired my friends players for them but that's another story.

  • Creative Zen vision M 30 GB MP3 player does not resp

My Creative Zen vision M 30 GB MP3 player stopped working. It does not turn on, does not charge, does not respond to anything. Is the battery dead or what would be the problem. Please help.

There are a multitude of problems that could be causing your player to exhibit this behavior in addition to battery failure, including the failure of the main logic board. If the player has been dropped a few times, exposed to excessi've heat, or high humidity/water, the problem might not be the battery. On the other hand, if the battery has been allowed to fully exhaust on a regular basis and left uncharged for long periods, it is possible that the battery could be dead, but LIon batteries usually last at least 2-3 years with regular use and normal recharging practices if they haven't been abused.
