JET 4.6 problem.

Hello,
I'm getting the following error during the JET boot install process and hope that someone can assist with a solution.
Begin script Utils/begin execution completed.
Searching for SolStart directory...
Checking rules.ok file...
Using begin script: install_begin
Using finish script: patch_finish
Executing SolStart preinstall phase...
Executing begin script "install_begin"...
Begin script install_begin execution completed.
ERROR: Field 1 - Keyword "pool" is invalid
Solaris installation program exited.
I saw one other post regarding this error but I've copied the check file from the 10_08 DVD to no avail. The Solaris install root is 10/08 and I've correctly updated the solaris_media_locations file, but I still get the error. I cannot find a mention of the word "pool" in my profiles, but of course, I am using "rpool".
Any assistance is greatly appreciated!

There is a known problem with HP presets I've been following over in the HP Support Forum. I'm not familiar with your particular DJ model, however I have seen numerous messages over there about trouble with presets. This seems to be more prevalent in 10.5, and I don't recall if others have reported it with 10.4. There may be conflict between different HP drivers for different printers, we're not sure yet. Do you now or have you ever had any other HP printer on your machine?
HP tech serve says presets are not a part of their driver, and that the feature is from Apple. I have not had a chance yet to pursue that on this side. Does your HP print dialogue box show any options for borderless printing?

Hp Laser Jet CM1015 printing problem

Hi Guys !!!I'll try not to make it long for you, pictures speaks for me.I would need to say that I had that printer since 2007 or a little after, the problem started after using some kids coloring program which prints the pictures after coloring it. Any Ideas ?!!!Thanks

Scanner 5 errors are caused by the scanner bulb not being able to find home. Usually this an indicator that the scanner motor may be about to fail. Usually a power cycle may resolve it temporarily.
-Verify the CLJ2840 has the most updated firmware from hp.com. There has been some firmware fixes in firmware to alleviate some scanner 5 errors.
-When the scanner 5 error is not recoverable from a power cycle- the printer will need to be serviced with most likely a scanner sub assembly and possibly a formatter as well.
Although I am an HP employee, I am speaking for myself and not for HP.

Recevied a Missing or Failed Printhead message of my computer that stated " The printhead appears to be missing, not deteced, correctly installed or incompatible." What must I do to get this problem corrected?

I need help w/ HP Office Jet 4500 scanning problems

Mine is IMAC w/OSX 10.9.1 w/HP Officejet4500. I downloaded the MAC software for scanning problems. I can now scan but the scanner won't allow a file to be saved. Even after downloading and re-installing several times, rebootong the IMAC, I still receive the Error msg: file 'save to' 'read only'. I've checked the files and all the files are read/write. Hp office jet 6000 connection problems sharing over network. spooler service error.

HP Office Jet 6000 wireless
Windows 7 Professional 32 bit
error message: Windows cannont connect to the local print spooler, service is not running.
Attempting to share the printer among computers on our network. Printer is connected to its home computer via USB.
All 3 computers are running the same OS.
We are using a wired network.
The printer shows up as available to share, but when attempting to add the printer to another computer on the network the spooler service error pops up. The computer that I have tried to add the printer to now will not print at all to any other printers on our network or to a printer connected directly to it via USB, and I cannot remove the new shared printer.
The printer prints without any issues on the PC it is connected directly to via USB.

I checked the spooler service on the computer that the printer is connected to via usb and it is set to automatic and is running.

Laser jet P3015 printer problems

I have a HP P3015 and it defaults to Tray 1, and asking for Glossy paper. There is no paper in Tray 1, and it is shut. For each print job, I have to press OK to change print trays, and OK again to print. How can I clear these settings so that the printer will print from Tray 2

Office Jet 6600 Printing Problems

Replaced all 4 printing cartridges with HP authorized cartridges, and it appears only the Black & Magenta are printing. Cyan & Yellow are not. What needs to be done to get the cyan and yellow to print.

Thank you for taking the time to post on the HP Forums today! Hope you enjoy the experience.
I understand you are unable to get ink to print from your Yellow & Cyan; meanwhile, you can print fine from your Black & Magenta. You say that you just purchased genuine HP ink cartridges. Does this mean that before you were using non-HP ink before or refilled ink before?
Are you receiving any error at all that can help me identify the issue?
Is there no ink coming out or just a very feint amount?
Have you tried to do printhead cleaning? If not please take some time and go through these instructions and clean the printhead using the automated cleaning tool.
1. Go to the Front Panel of the printer.
2. Select the Setup menu.
3. Select the Tools sub-category.
4. Select the Clean Printhead option.
Clean the printhead as many times as you need to fix the issue as long as after every time you see improvement. If you don't see any improvement then do not continue after the 3rd cleaning.

Can't print from windows to shared Canon MX340

I have a new Canon MX340 on my iMac with Snow Leopard. I'm able to print from this iMac and via sharing, all of the other Macs at home. What I can't do is print from my son's Windows XP netbook. Previously, I was sharing an old HP office jet with no problem, with the new Canon one of two things happens. I used Bonjour to install the printer on the XP side.
- with Generic Postscript selected as the driver I get the following erros in the cups error_log file

- using the MX340 driver, I simply get a single blank page
I am able to print via a network connection (the MX340 has built in WiFi), but I'd like to know how to do with via the old method.

The XP Netbook should use the Generic PS driver. I've never found the Canon driver on Windows to work correctly when printing to the Mac shared printer via Bonjour for Windows.
It is unusual you are getting this error. The Mac should be converting the incoming spool file to suit the MX340. Since the Generic PS is not working then you could try the Apple Color LaserWriter 12/600 when using the Bonjour Wizard. I've used this on XP to print to my MP980 shared off 10.6.4 and it worked fine for me.
Personally I would suggest you are better off with using the MX340 wireless. This will remove the reliance on the iMac being available just so that others can print.

Image won't print at the designated size

I have the following:
CS4 (brand new)
Windows 7 (64 bit)
New HP office jet 8500 wireless
Problem: I complete an image. Image size is set to 8.5 x 11. Print preview shows image filling paper. Image is set to print at 100%.
When I press PRINT, I get a paper with a tiny image in the top left corner. Image size which prints is (I just measured) 2 7/8 x 3 5/8 inches.
I'm hoping there is something very simple I'm not doing. Again IMAGE SIZE is set to 8.5 x 11 inches. When I click PRINT, I am choosing to print at 100%. I get a tiny image on paper.
This happens no matter what I print. 8x10 photos appear tiny in the upper left.
Any suggestions? THANKS for any and all help.
NOTE: All other programs work correctly as far as printing goes. Just photoshop does this.

@wine snob - HP console looks fine, all settings are good
@qener7 - "scale to fit" isn't checked because 8 x 10 image fills most of the paper. The preview looks like an 8x10 printing on an 8.5 x 11 piece of paper.
@Paulo - In the image size window, it's set to 8 x 10 inches, 300 dpi., in the PRINT dialogue box, the preview looks perfect--an 8 x 10 printing on an 8.5 x 11 paper.
I've played with it more today, still prints tiny image in upper left corner. No matter which large image I try to print. I've been using CS for years, no problems. Now with this brand new computer, brand new printer and CS4, I'm having trouble.
Images from Corel Painter print fine, as well as from Power Point, word, etc. Just Photoshop is a problem. Ugh. Getting frustrated.

Choppy performance when fan kicks in

Now that it's summer and getting warmer in my studio, I notice that the FCP playback gets choppy and generally gets weird as my G-5's fan kicks in. Does this make sense? It is making me a bit anxious. Despite my efforts to cool things off it reaches about 80 in our workspace in the heat of the day.

There is a nifty application called Temperature Monitor you may want to look into. It reads all the temp sensors in your machine and you can keep an eye on the trends. It is a great monitoring tool when you want to experiment with alternative cooling strategies.
In the FWIW category, I've found a simple smalll fan blowing air around my 17" Powerbook will keep the temps 10 degrees F cooler (or more) on hot days. Often enough to keep the fans from kicking in and from getting so hot I end up sweating all over the keyboard.
Also, do a search for CHUD in the developer forum. It is another nifty app that allows you to set your processors to sleep when not in use. It has a big effect on heat generation. It was a life saver with some of the 'aircraft jet fan noise ' problems with earlier tower models.

Car not charging Apple products

I recently bought a 2012 VW Jetta and for some reason, Apple products will not charge in either one of the power points, while other devices (GPS, an Android phone, etc.) charge perfectly fine. The specific Apple products I am having trouble with: a brand new iPod Nano 7th gen., and an iPhone 5 bought in April (both charge fine in other cars).
The lightning charger I have is brand new and works in other cars, just not my new Jetta.
I have tried turning my iPhone and iPod on and off with no luck. I have also used a 30-pin to lightning connector and using an old Apple USB charge cord and still nothing.
Any ideas?

This charger plugs into cigarrete lighter/power point?
Sounds like the charger may not be making a good contact in the socket.
What brand is it?
