  • Merging Smartform Output and Adobe Form Output in a single PDF File

    Hi All,
    My Requirement is as follows -
    I have multiple Smartforms and a single Adobe Form.
    I want to merge the Smartform Outputs and Adobe Form output in a single PDF.
    I am able to merge multiple Smartform Output in a PDF , but not able to find any way to merge smartform and adobe form output as the Smartform output is in OTF Format and Adobe form output is in PDF Format itself.
    I have tried few ways , but could not find any success.
    Request you all to give me some direction to this problem.
    Thanks & Regards
    Bhavika

    Kumar,
    I am afraid this is not possible using SAP functionality. There are probably 3rd party tools which allow you to merge several PDFs into one, but SAP itself does not offer such a mechanism. There is an internal SAP function, though, which can merge several "parts" (=several PDFs) within an Adobe-created spool request into a single PDF, intended for downloading this PDF from SP01.
    This is described in note 1717357.
    Best regards,
    Alexander

  • How to have multi select dropdowns for web request and adobe forms

    Hi All,
    I am working on interactive forms for CRM 7.0 using web request and ZCI layout.
    When I say web request we define the fields required for the form in CRM that becomes the context for WDA and passed onto Adobe form.
    This web request is a flat structure which mean if I have a node and attributes with in that you cant have multiple values to wards this node as in WDA.
    Now My query:
      I have a field called "xyz" since web request is a flat structure i just defined it as a string.
      In WDA I made it a enumrated field and added key value pairs to it.
      In Adobe form I binded this field to a WD native enum dropdown list every thing is fine untill here.
      Now in the form I need this as a multiple select, so i changed the dropdown field to list box it works.
      The form has to be submitted as a draft version when did so, it will not execute any APIs but saves the data to the web request.
      When the same form is opened for the next time, with the data in web request it should reopen this field with the multiple seleced values high lighted.
      since the field xyz is a single filed of string, how can i maintain multiple values in that...?
      if there is a form status auto save function in Adobe form this might solve a bit but not sure when the form is opened 2nd time from web reqest view does it consider it as a new one or open the same form...?
    I have such dropdown fields and problems including ones with depenedt values on one another.
    I tried my best to explain the problem, if somebody can help me with this its much appriciated.
    Note: Since this is dependent on CRM web request I am posting the same query in that block also apologies if this mean a duplicacy.
    Thanks & Regards,
    Sai

    I got the solution and problem is solved.
    Iterating & processing a enumrated dropdown is like any other dropdown /list box in adobe forms.

  • Problem in Webdynpro and Adobe form with signature field

    Hi experts!
    I have a problem with Signature Field in Adobe Form showed in a Web Dynpro Abap.
    During the execution I fill the Signature field correctly but when I push any other button of the Webdynpro, the Adobe Form shows me the next error.
    After click OK, the webdynpro is hang and not respond.
    Any idea why not respond?
    Thanks.

    Hi friend,
    Its not like that the Adobe created using SFP is non interactive.
    We can create interactive forms using SFP transaction using java code.
    I think it will be the problem with ADS just check with your basis people i think they will configure you the settings which works fine.
    To check whether the settings are perfect you can try executing the standard programs FP_TEST_00 and
    FP_PDF_TEST_00. If it works fine then some other problem exists else check with your basis team.
    Just check this and revert me if you have any issues. I will help you
    Thanks,

  • Difference between Smart Forms and Adobe Form

    Hi all,
    What are disadvantages of Smart form in SAP ,
    What is difference between Smart Forms and Adobe interactive Form.
    I heard from someone that in future Adobe interactive Form will repalce smart forms. Is it true or not
    Best Regards
    Srikanth

    Hi,
    Companies depend on formal documents that reflect their corporate identities and contain critical business information from live systems. SAP and Adobe partnered for automating and streamlining forms-based communication to support customers who create reusable forms for their business processes.
    SAP Interactive Forms by Adobe will be used more and more as a way of simplifying and automating manual processes.
    There are various advantages of Adobe forms.
    SAP Interactive Forms by Adobe provides all the features and functions you need to create form-based output, such as order confirmations, invoices, or pay slips. You can either print such documents or send them by email or FAX.
    <b>Online Interactive Forms</b>
    A user logs on to the company intranet to fill in a form required by the HR department (for example, a Non-Disclosure Agreement to be signed by a new employee). The form is displayed in the browser.
    As the user is logged on in the background to the company's HR system, his master data is displayed in the form. The user enters the required information in the fillable fields of the interactive form, and sends the data back to the system by pushing a button. The system extracts the data from the form and saves it in the database.
    <b>Offline Interactive Forms</b>
    The purchasing department of a company creates a bid in its Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) system and selects the potential vendors. Based upon this data, the system automatically creates interactive bidding forms with specific vendor information, such as the address or contact person.
    The forms are transmitted to the vendors by email. The vendors can fill out the forms offline (without being connected to the system that created the forms) and transmit them back to the company. The company then processes the forms automatically, and the data provided by the vendors is written to the ERP system. The purchasing department uses the data to evaluate the quotation and then issues an order.
    <b>With the integration of Adobe PDF technology into its solutions, SAP will be able to further extend its offerings of end-to-end business solutions by:</b>
    Providing for the first time the capabilities of Adobe's interactive PDF-based forms.
    Integrating PDF documents into business processes that are driven by SAP applications.
    Automating the process of moving XML data from SAP applications into interactive forms and vice versa.
    Reducing time to design, manage, and maintain extended forms-based processes through easy-to-use forms design and deployment tools.
    Offering its customers enhanced printing capabilities, in particular for interactive Web applications.
    The focus of new forms technology from SAP is interactive PDF-based forms that can be created in SAP systems as a result of the <b>integration of Adobe technology with Web Dynpro and the SAP NetWeaver Developer Studio.</b> This integration means that adobe is the future technology.

    Kate

  • Comparison between webdynpro and adobe forms

    Hi All,
    I want to compare Adobe v/s webdynpro.Can anybody tell me some pros and cons of webdynpro over Adobe?
    Thanks.

    Hi Shweta,
    This is a little bit "chalk and cheese".
    WebDypro is an application programming environment with huge functionality which you can use to create any online application.
    Adobe forms are a forms based UI which can talk to an application programming environment such as WebDynpro, or a business process environment such as Guided Procedures if it is available, but can also work independently on a PC or laptop without a network connection.
    But I assume here you are talking just a WebDynpro "form" i.e. a UI, versus an  Adobe form?
    Think of it this way:
    Adobe forms are a forms specific technology - WebDynpro forms aren't - they are part an application technology
    Adobe forms can be used <b>offline</b> and <b>printed</b> with no additional effort - WebDynpro applications are only used online, and print functionality needs to be specifically added (other than printing straight from the Web Browser which really isn't the same thing at all)
    Adobe includes a number of features to support offline processing and later upload - such as barcode generation - (you can fully or partially enter data in a form which generates the barcode, then print it and swipe the barcode with a reader), digital signatures, intelligent protection of fields, and offline button features (e.g. to return a form via email) - WebDynpro doesn't do anything offline... of course.
    And of course there are different skillsets required to create the forms.
    But really the main criteria to decide one vs. the other is:
    Do you need <b>offline</b> capability? If you do then its clear the choice is Adobe.
    Personally I prefer Adobe also if you are likely to be printing the form.
    If everything is happening online then really its just an application and other factors will dictate the forms choice, such as available skillsets and the level of integration required with backend systems.
    This is also consistent with SAP's current and future direction - SAP is delivering forms as Adobe forms - so they can be used online and offline.  Applications SAP delivers using WebDynpro.

  • SAP and Adobe Form - Scripting Issues

    Hello experts,
    before i start with the the issue, I would like to describe some functions which we have developed in our adobe form (not interactive Form!).
    We are displaying XHTML Text coming from SAP , in order to load the XTHML into the controls we are calling the following line of code during the initialize event:
    this.value.exData.loadXML(this.rawValue);
    We are printing a table which contains 3 position types (SAP DATA)
    Product items
    Groups
    Texts/Pictures (XHTML/Binary Data)
            On each new page a header line shall be printed if the type is product item. This codding is placed inside the layout:ready event:
    data.BODY.HIERARCHY.GS_HIER.DATA.ALTERNATIVE_NODE_TYPE.NODETYPE::ready:layout - (JavaScript, both)
    var vPage = xfa.layout.page(this);
    Script.setHeaderline(vPage, this.rawValue, this.parent.FLAG_HEADER_LINE.rawValue);
    data.BODY.HIERARCHY.GS_HIER.HEADER::ready:layout - (JavaScript, both)
    var vPage =  xfa.layout.page(this);
    Script.getHeaderline(vPage);
    if (Script.gHeader == "X") {
      this.presence = "visible";
    else {
      this.presence = "hidden";
    SCRIPT SECTION: -->
    var gHeader = "Y";
    var level_hier = 5;
    var new_page;
    var gPage = 1;
    arrHeader = new Array();
    function setPage(in_page) {
      gPage = in_page;
    function getPage(out_page) {
      out_page = gPage;
      return out_page;
    function setHeaderline(in_page, in_nodetype, in_flag_header_line) {
      if (in_page != gPage) {
           if (in_nodetype == "1" && in_flag_header_line != "X") {
                arrHeader[in_page] = "X";
      else {
           arrHeader[in_page] = "N";
      gPage = in_page;
    function getHeaderline(in_page) {
      gHeader = arrHeader[in_page];
    The first functionality was working always pretty good. For making the second functionality available we started calling the Adobe Forms using the Parameter DYNAMIC = 'X'. Unfortunaltey the first functionality is then not working anymore correctly. We have tried to change javascript processing to server side/client side and both, but in the mode DYNAMIC = 'X' it does not have any influence, all javascript is performed at the client and at runtime. The result is that some pdf reader can not see the XTHML texts and we are expierencing some other problems with pictures.
    We need to have both functionalities working at the same time for all readers. I guess this is only possible if the javascript is processed at the server side and the ADS returns a finished/static PDF document.
    Does anyone has an idea how to solve this issue ?
    Thanks a lot,
    Wladimir

    Thanks for the info Juergen. I am still awaiting your blog on secured web services , if you get time please post it.
    @Anil: Please close the thread if the issue is resolved.

  • Dropdown values in Web request and Adobe form.

    Hi All,
    I am a Abap dynpro & adobe forms developer.
    I have to work on a CRM project to generate Adobe forms using Web request.
    I could create forms submit data etc.
    Now came up with a requirement where I need to have dropdown in the form the source being comming from SAP.
    Can somebody help me how to create dropdowns and populate values in Adobe from from Web request.
    For your info : I have BADI implementations on the web request. in that On create method I need to populate date for this web request. so the query nails down to what should be the web request structure for dropdowns and how to set values to them.
    Thanks in advance,
    Sai krishna.

    The issue is solved.
    1) making the field as enumrated list in abap web dynpro.
    2) Adding the required enumrated list to this field.
    3) binding this field to a web dynpro native control "enumrated dropdown list".

  • Web Dynpro and Adobe Form

    Hi
    I am creating some dynamic context nodes in 1 view.
    In the next view, i want to display the PDF in accordance with the dynamic context node created.
    How can i supply the dynamic context node at run time to the Adobe form so that form corresponding to that node gets displayed.
    Thanks
    Shivi Goel

    Hi Shivi Goel,
    To "share" a Context node in different views, you have to create the node in the COMPONENTCONTROLLER and you have to map the node in all views the node is needed. The mapping can be done dynamically by IF_WD_CONTEXT_NODE_INFO~ADD_NEW_MAPPED_CHILD_NODE (see documentation for more information)
    To bind the dataSource property of UI element "interactiveForm" dynamically, you could use the following code (in WDDOMODIFYVIEW):
      DATA my_interactive_form TYPE REF TO cl_wd_interactive_form.
      my_interactive_form ?= view->get_element( `MY_INTERACTIVE_FORM` ).
      my_interactive_form->bind_data_source( `MY_NODE.MY_DATA_SOURCE` ).
    Note: You have to make sure that the form interface (of the form template provided in property "templateSource") is suitable to the Context (property "dataSource").
    Greetings,
    Ralf

  • UWL for HR Administrators and Adobe forms

    Standard SAP expects HR Administrator to specify the "due date" when they open an Adobe Interactive Form.
    Could you configure the Adobe Interactive Form so that it collects an initial date from the manager, to be updated later by HR admin if neccessary?
    Thanks
    WB

    I got the solution and problem is solved.
    Iterating & processing a enumrated dropdown is like any other dropdown /list box in adobe forms.

  • Paypal and Adobe form central Issue

    I hooked up my paypal to the adobe form it's working great, but I can't integrate paypal to stay on my site when completing the transaction. I asked paypal tech support, and they told me "the folks at formcentral will know".. Any suggestions?

    >The form is great and works well, but the last step directs you back to paypal for the final billing
    process. To keep that process on the site directly, I had to upgrade my paypal to a merchant service account.
    Once the user clicks Proceed to Checkout, the whole site gets redirected to PayPal to let the user make his payment there, and then when they are done, the browser will get redirected to FormsCentral and we will show the user the confirmation message.  Actually redirecting the whole site to PayPal is recommended by PayPal since the users will have more confident that they are paying in the real PayPal site. If they see the payment is processed in an iframe, some people will suspect if the server behind that iframe is really PayPal, since they cannot see the iframe URL in the browser's URL field.
    I am sorry that so far we haven't done a really good job to redirect the user back to your own web site after the payment is done. I will send a feature request to our Product Manager for this, but before we can have it implemented, what you can do is to edit your forms confirmation message in Options->Confirmation Message to tell the user how to get back to your web site. I understand it looks awkward, and I apologize for that, but we are trying hard to improve our payment experience.
    I hope this asnwers your question. Please let me know if you need more help.
    Thanks,
    Eman

  • Standard text and Adobe forms

    How do you get a standard text created w/ SO10 displayed on the PDF? Can it also have the same formatting... bold, underline, etc.?
    Currently on ecc 7.0.

    This is where some training may be helpful....
    I now have the context tab in SFP by changing the interface type on the interface attached to the form to be dictionary based. This allows me to add the text as you mentioned. The form has ZCI layout assigned.
    But now my webdynpro is having issues calling the form. In my webdynpro my template source is the same as the sfp form name; but as I assign the pdfsource and datasource they are either removed and/or changed to a dummy value that is added to my context with no nodes or attributes.
    This application currently runs in a production environment. All I was trying to do was add a standard text element to the form.

    2. Can you use Jetforms with SAPscript? How? What is the process?
    3. Are Jetforms compatible with Zebra Printers? If yes, then how? If no, the what types of output and printer do Jetforms support?

  • Advantages of  adobe forms over sapscripts and smartforms.

    Good day ,
    Can anyone pls mention atleast 2 to 3 major differences between sapscripts,smartforms and adobe forms?
    I want to know wat r the drawbacks in each n how we rectified it in adobe forms.Are there any disadvantages in adobe forms??
    Awaiting your reply,
    Thanks,
    Deepthi.

    Hi Martina,
    SAP Interactive Forms by Adobe offer you the following business advantages:
    1.  Interactive functions automate the creation of data for SAP systems
    2.  Full integration into the SAP development environments for Java and ABAP
    3.  User-friendly tools reduce the time and costs associated with creating form layouts.
    4.  The usage of the PDF format means that forms retain their appearance regardless of the environment they are used in.
    Moreover,
    SAP Interactive Forms by Adobe offer the following basic functions:
    1.  Create form templates for the layout that include logos or pictures
    2.  Generate documents by merging form templates and current system data
    3.  Edit forms online or offline
    4.  Forms can be filled in advance automatically with specific data from SAP applications and then sent to the correct recipients using secure methods
    5.  Automatic consistency checks for forms
    6.  Activate enhanced functions such as comments
    7.  Digital signatures and form certification
    8.  Send completed forms to the SAP application with automatic updates of the business data
    There are not any disadvantages in adobe forms as such except the value help is not present but that could be done after a little coding.
    Reward if useful.
