JetPack 4G LTE connects but "no internet access" message

Would appreciate any help.
My JetPack 4G LTE mi-fi connects to the internet (3G or 4G) and shows that my devices are connected to it.  However, I cannot get on the internet.
1)  I have three different devices - two laptops and a smartphone.  All three have the same problem.
2)  I have a Sprint Mi-Fi that I use for a different business.  All three devices can and do connect to that device and work properly on the internet during the same sessions in which they cannot connect on the Verizon JetPack.  So it is not the devices I am trying to connect with.
3)  The exact same thing has happened several times over the course of about 4 days and in two cities and two states - all three devices unable to connect via JetPack but connect fine through Sprint Mi-Fi.  So it is not location or local network issue.
4)  LED display on JetPack, in all instances, show a strong 3G or 4G (depending on where I am) signal and also that all three devices are connected.
5)  Message on laptop wireless area shows connection but says "no internet access".
6)  Under the wireless status or details, it says (on the list of info):  "IPv4  no internet access" and "IPv6 no internet access".
7)  I have done a battery pull with no effect.
8)  I have done a factory reset (power up, remove cover, press reset button until long green light and short green light) with no effect.
9)  After both battery pull and factory reset, I still show connected to 3G, all three devices connected, no internet access, and all three devices then work on the Sprint mi-fi.
10)  Symptoms started about 4 days ago and have not changed since - it is not a come-and-go problem.  It is not working at any time.
I am hoping to gosh to avoid a long ordeal with tech-support at Verizon.  This is a company-issued device, so I could ask my company to take it up with Verizon, but I work remotely and access to the IT department is not that simple either.  thought I would see if I am missing something simple.  I hope I've given enough info for someone brighter than myself here can spot something I could do.
Thanks in advance for any help.

Thank you for your response.  I am having trouble logging back into this site to respond (I never created a User ID and don't know my cell phone number as it is a mi-fi and not a cell).  I reregisterd for the forums only under a slight ID variation and will continue to do so for this dialog.  Thanks very much.
The back of the Jetpack says SSID: "MiFI4620L Jetpack 89B4".   I am currently using the device (since the problems began last week) in zip codes 49504 and 49503 - same symptom both places.
Thanks again.

  • Wifi connection but 'No Internet Access'

We recently had BT fibre optic BB fitted and all seemed well on the day.  However very quickly devices using the wifi started to have only intermittent ‘connection’.  The devices show as having a good/strong signal, yet are often unable to access the internet, and in the case of our lap tops when we can not get online they say ‘Connected’ to the wifi but they also say ‘No Internet Access’.  The iPad minis we have also show as connected, with good signal, but just will not access the internet.
The issue is intermittent and has no set pattern.  At one point all devices are connected, sometimes one or two aren’t, sometimes none are.  When they will not connect we have to move them into the room where the hub is and wait for them to reconnect.  We are talking about 2 laptops, 2 iPad minis, 2 smart phones and 2 Xbox 360’s, as well as my PC (which is connected via ethernet cable).  So I doubt I'm overworking the hub, especially as my old router worked (just) with this amount of devices and that was on a basic non fibre optic BB.
When the engineer connected us he set the internet up in the study, which is at one end of our house, as that is where the master phone point and my PC are.  He connected the PC via Ethernet cable and I connected an iPad mini wirelessly (whilst sat next to the hub).  He did not check anything else worked or check if we had coverage in the whole house.  I do have a phone point in the hall, which is in the middle of the house, but he did not offer to connect to this point, or suggest that may offer better coverage in my house.
My frustration with this is compounded by the fact I had a basic Netgear wireless router running on a bog standard Virgin Media BB connection, never stronger than about 3 megs, that covered the whole house from exactly the same spot as the Homehub.
I have tried adding a plug in signal booster (as suggested on another thread), and that has helped with the overall strength of the signal in the rooms furthest from the hub, but it does not stop this ‘connection’ issue.
Can someone help with suggestions regards settings on our devices or the hub, I did wonder if it was due to the dual frequencies the hub uses, or regards getting someone out to look at this.  I am at my wits end already, and I have only had BT BB 5 days.
    Thanks in advance.

From reading your original post, the issue doesn't seem to be wth wireless signal strength - your devices are connected to wireless but just can't make an internet connection, correct?
In my experience there are a number of reasons why this can happen:
    1. Your device has a fixed IP address and it's on a different subnet from the router.  Are your devices configured for static IP addresses or DHCP?  The BT Home Hubs use 192.168.1.x as the default subnet.  To be honest, it doesn;t sound like this is your problem if they work when moved to a different location, but best to check.
    2. Your hub isn't connected to broadband.  You should be able to see this from the 'b' light on the hub.  Again, doesn;t sound like your problem.
    3. The device connects correctly to the wireles hub but fails to get an IP address.  You can check IP address assignments on the hub itself by pointing your browser at bthomehub.home, going to Advanced Settings and then DHCP Table (this is for a HH3).  You can also check the IP address assignment on your laptops, but I don't know what OS you're using so I can't tell you how to do that.  If the device is failing to get an IP address then I'd try restarting the Hub.
    4. Your devices are connecting to the Hub's BTWiFi network instead of your real network (this happens regularly with my iPhone and iPad).  Force a reconnect to your real network.
    Hope this helps!

  • BTHH5 connected, but no internet access

Hi! I've got BT Infinity on my HomeHub 5A. Here is the problem. When I connect to my wifi everything is good, but after a while I lose internet connection. I am still connected to my wifi, but the wifi sign shows a yellow triangle with an exclamation point and says I dont have internet access.
If I disconnect and then connect again everything goes back to normal and I can browse again. This is just a temporary fix because after some time I lose access again. This can happen after an hour or just after a minute of browsing, so it can be very frustrating if it happens often.
After reading some threads on the forum I tried assigning a static DNS adress, that didnt help. Then I tried switching of the 5GHz network, that didnt help either. I have downloaded inSSIDer and changed the chanell of my wifi to a less busy one, that didnt help as well.
This happens on both Windows 7 laptops, on the PS4 and an iPhone, so the problem is not in them. Also it happens when just one laptop is connected, so the number of connected devices is not a problem also.
I dont have any options to try now, so any suggestions will help.

  • My ipod touch shows I have wi fi connection but no internet access, what can I do about this?

I have a new ipod touch and it shows I have a wi fi connection, but I am not able to connect to the internet.
    Any suggestions?

Try this first.  In Settings > WiFi: Turn wi-ff, then turn it back again.  If this does not work try Settings > General > Reset > Reset Network Settings.
If you have never been able to connect and are using WPA security, make sure your password is correct.  If you are using WEP security, you're wasting your time as WEP is hackable in less than 30 seconds.  And the iPod often has problems with WEP.
In any case, if you can't get it to work at home, try it in a place with free wi-fi.  If it works there the problem is probably with your router (this can be the case even if your router works with other equipment).

  • I have WiFi connection but no internet access HELP

I got the ipod touch 3rd generation two days ago at yesterday it was connecting fine but now when i try to connect it shows that i have good WiFi signal but no actual internet connection because when i try to load app world or Safari it wont let me. I have reset my router several times and reset my network settings on my ipod but still nothing. My computer and laptop are both working fine with the internet. However, my sister also has the same ipod and she has the same problem but she resets it once and it works but her ipod has not been updated in a long time and mine has the latest software. HELP ME PLEASE!!!

You may not really be connected to your WiFi network.
Your router may not have given your iPod a valid IP address. Go to Settings > Wifi > your network name and touch the ">" to the right to see the network details. If the IP address starts with 169 or is blank then your router didn't provide an IP address and you won't be able to access the Internet.
Sometimes the fix can be as simple as restarting your router (not reset -  to restart remove power for 30 seconds and restart). Next, reset network settings on your iPod (Settings > General > Reset > Reset network settings) and then attempt to connect. In other cases it might be necessary to update the router's firmware with the latest from the manufacturer's support web pages. Check for a firmware update for your router on the manufacturer's support web pages. See the documentation that came with your router on how to install.
If you need more help please give more details on your network, i.e., your router make, model and version, and how you have it configured.

  • IPad 3 VZ LTE shows connected but no internet

I recently experienced an issue with my IPad 3 not connecting to Verizon LTE, it showed LTE connected but there was no internet access via Safari, ookla speed test app, or any other apps. I did a full reboot and it did not clear up. My iPhone 5C showed  same signal and tested over 8 mbs for speed. Tried several different locations and no improvement. I tried to reprovision the account, but it did not help, I then reset the network settings and that didn't help. I removed the SIM card an re-seated it and that helped for about 30 seconds and then the data stopped working again. I then used restore to reload the operating system and tried it before loading the back up, didn't help. I finally took it to the Verizon store and put in a new SIM card, which worked great in the store, but then it started the same issue. Has there been a recent change in the system software or the way it communicates through Verizon that would cause it to do this, and is there a way to validate the connection between the iPad and the Verizon network? One other thing I have experienced it having difficulty finding the network to begin with, it seems as though the signal strength has diminished some how for the iPad, but not the iPhone.
I appreciate any ideas on how to continue to troubleshoot

Hi. Check the version number of the router underneath the unit . Then go to www.linksys.com/download . Save it on the desktop . Access the router's web interface using http://192.168.1.1 . The default password is admin
USe the web interface to upgrade the router's firmware to the latest saved on the computer ..
After the upgrade , you need to reset and reconfigure the router ,

  • IPad 3rd Gen Shows Strong Verizon LTE Signal but no Internet

I've heen having a frequent issue where my Verizon LTE iPad is showing a full LTE connection but than I get error messages that I'm not connected to the Internet.  So I end up having to toggle Airplane mode to get it to reacquire a signal (which might take a minute or two) and than all is well again until the problem happens again.  This typically happens when I'm on the move as opposed to being at home; so perhaps an issue with transferring between cell towers but any advice to alleviate the problem would be appreciated.

Is this issue happening on both your work PC and MacBook or just one or the other? Are both PCs Macs? Is your "work" e-mail web-based that you can access from any web browser via just an Internet connection?
Do each of your computers use the same DNS server settings? The default would be your ISP's DNS servers.

  • I get wireless connection but my internet does not work on my ipad 2

I get wireless connection but my internet does not work on my ipad 2

    Some things to try first:
    1. Turn Off your iPad. Then turn Off (disconnect power cord for 30 seconds or longer) the wireless router & then back On. Now boot your iPad. Hopefully it will see the WiFi.
    2. Go to Settings>Wi-Fi and turn Off. Then while at Settings>Wi-Fi, turn back On and chose a Network.
    3. Change the channel on your wireless router (Auto or Channel 6 is best). Instructions at http://macintoshhowto.com/advanced/how-to-get-a-good-range-on-your-wireless-netw ork.html
    4. Go into your router security settings and change from WEP to WPA with AES.
    5.  Renew IP Address: (especially if you are droping internet connection)
        •    Launch Settings app
        •    Tap on Wi-Fi
        •    Tap on the blue arrow of the Wi-Fi network that you connect to from the list
        •    In the window that opens, tap on the Renew Lease button

  • Have WIFI connection but can't access Safari or App store, nothing.  Can anyone help??

I have just bought a iPad 2 WI-FI 16G today.  I have a full WI-FI connection but can't access the App store or Safari for any webpages, can anyone help?

Despite what you call, "a full WiFi connection", you may not really be connected to your WiFi network.
Your router may not have given your iPad a valid local network IP address. Go to Settings > Wifi > your network name and touch the ">" to the right to see the network details. If the IP address starts with 169 or is blank then your router didn't provide an IP address and you won't be able to access the Internet.

Next, reset network settings on your iPad (Settings > General > Reset > Reset network settings) and then attempt to connect. In other cases it might be necessary to update the router's firmware with the latest from the manufacturer's support web pages.
If you need more help please give more details on your network, i.e., your router make, model and version, the wifi security being used (WEP, WPA, WPA2), etc.

  • Blackberry torch 9800 wifi connected but no internet

hi i am using blackbery torch 9800.its giving error that wifi is connected but no internet connection.please help me

Hi and Welcome to the Community!
With a strong carrier network signal (e.g., not merely WiFi), I suggest the following steps, in order, even if they seem redundant to what you have already tried (steps 1 and 2 each should result in a message coming to your BB...please wait for that before proceeding to the next step):
    1) Register HRT
KB00510 How to register a BlackBerry smartphone with the wireless network
Please wait for one "registration" message to arrive to your Messages app
    2) Resend Service Books
KB02830 Send the service books for the BlackBerry Internet Service
Please wait for "Activation" Messages, one per already configured email account, to arrive in your Messages. If you have no already configured email accounts, please wait 1 hour.
    3) Reboot
With power ON, remove the back cover and pull out the battery. Wait about a minute then replace the battery and cover. Power up and wait patiently through the long reboot -- ~5 minutes.
See if things have returned to good operation. Like all computing devices, BB's suffer from memory leaks and such...with a hard reboot being the best cure.
Hopefully that will get things going again for you! If not, then you should contact your mobile service provider for formal support and to ensure that you are subscribed to a data plan from them that is adequate to use the services you desire (many services require a data plan, even if the method of access is only WiFi).
    Good luck!

  • The wi-fi on my ipod touch is connected but the internett is not working! Help

Soo annoying, it's connected but the internett is not working. I don't know what to type in or what to do, so I need help.

Are you 100% positive you are connected?  Head to Settings - Wi-Fi and tap the > next to the network you are connected to?  What is listed for an IP address?  If it's in the 169.x.x.x range, it means your iPod did not properly receive a valid IP address via DHCP from your modem/router. So the 169.x.x.x address is a self-assigned one.
This can usually be resolved by a reboot of your router.  You can do this by unplugging it for about 30 seconds.  After it powers back up, try reconnecting it.  It wouldn't hurt to try a reset of your iPod as well.  To do this, press and hold both the Sleep/Wake and Home buttons together long enough for the Apple logo to appear.

You need to change the VPN pool ip subnet to something other than the same ip range used on the inside interface.

I do have wifi connection but no internet, how is this possible? I logged in to the internet at my friends place and when I got home my own internet was not working anymore

This is possible to be connected to WiFi but not internet.
You connect to your modem/router via WiFi and whether it is connected to the internet or configured properly to route the internet to WiFi devices is a different story.
Now if you've already reset your WiFi (try disabling and enabling) and perhaps even restarting your MBP
Then make sure that your modem/router is connected to the internet.
You can try any other device, lights on the modem/router or use Eth cable to test.
    Report back your findings.
