Jfp1&2 case connections

:think:I am searching for info on a mod. MS 5185 VER 1 Mo Bo. It has a socket 7 with a AMD K6 PRC. My problem lies in my case connections. all the manuals I've looked at and all the postings I've looked at, mention connectors JFP1 and JFP2. All this board has is 8 sets of pins with # 2 pin missing at the loc. JFP1 and no pins at all at JFP2. I have no idea where to connect anything. Any help you all could give me would be great! Thanks much, Chuck

I did find it is some computer co. in Fremont, CA. and finding anything about that did not go far. Did you try using a mag. glass to see if anything is printed on the board where the pins are? If not you more than likely will have to figure it out from the front panel connecting cable from the old case which is probably 8 to 10 years old.
An old AMD K6 PC is hardly worth bothering with though. I'm sure you have your own good reasons for taking the effort.

I have aquired a MS6340 motherboard. I've downloaded the manual but the case connections in the manual are differnt to what is on the board.
    This is from the manual
At the top where there keylock is, there is no gap on my motherboard, also where the pin is missing at the bottom, there is a pin on mine, and also on mine there is a pin missing at the bottom of where the speaker plugs in.
Quick photoshop of what mine looks like
Any idea's is there more than one version of this board?

  • CAS connect to Web Dynpro

    Hallo All,

    Hello,
I have seen the case where people have coded switches into their reports (hidden parameters) that allow the report to be run and instead of exporting the results to an ALV table, have exported the results to a memory address. Then these memory areas have been read and exported to a WD. (there are standard SAP pieces of logic that used to do this in ESS and MSS in the old ITS days)
You can just execute the report from inside the WD code and retrieve the result...
Personally I don't like this approach! I don't like using global memory area for a start! I also have tried to replace any web based reporting with POWLs  - which have a different approach to selections - i.e. knowing this before the user runs the report.
I think you would be better off modularising your report so it applied the MVC paradigm - the code for the report should be broken up so that the display and selection logic (view) is separated from the extraction logic (Model) the controller logic is pretty much the report code itself - and where I have built this approach (eg a backend report and a WD report that use the same logic) I have merged the view and controller logic in the report and pretty much also done this in the WD too - but the Model is identical in both cases.
    Hope this helps,
    Chris

  • CAS Connectivity flow

    Hi All
I have a question which will be down to my lack of understanding, so apologies for this question in advance.
Im coming to grips with all the proxy/redirect decisions that exchange does, the one question I cant solve is the internal connection process for outlook as this will use RPC/HTTPS.
In exchange 2010 if you stretched a DAG across sites you would have 2 casarray objects, one at each site and users would connect via the RPCclientAcessServer that was specified on the MBX Database. In the event of site loss you could fail the DAG to
siteB and repoint the SiteA CasArrary DNS record to the SiteB CasArrary VIP and this would be your failover.
How does this work in 2013 as you would probably have your clients connecting to mail.company.com for outlook anywhere, how do you ensure the clients go to their local site CAS VIP.

So do you have one FQDN for both sites or does each site have its own distinct FQDN for an endpoint? Whatever is set for the Outlook Anywhere internalhostname is what the domain-joined clients will use. If
each AD site has its own hostname set, then autodiscover will pass that info on to those clients in that site. Hope that makes sense.

  • Connecting Mic & Ear Case Connections to Audigy M

I'm wondering if it is possible to connect my case's ear and mic connections to my soundcard inside my computer. My Case is the Tsunami Dream VA3000 series and in it I have a Soundblaster audigy MP3+ soundcard. Perhaps I can connect these to the soundcard's external dri've connectors? Any help would be greatly appreciated.
    Chris

I'm having the same issue. I have a case with connectors for both headphones and a microphone. I've been trying to get them connected to my audigy mp3+ card so that I can use a headset from the front panel connectors on my case.
I've looked up all the documents online here and managed to locate a list of the jumper/ping configurations. I also noticed that the audigy users guide mentions a front panel line-level output connection somewhere, which leads me to believe that the card should support this type of connection.
But for the life of me I can't figure out which pins to connect all those little wires to so that I can use this headset.
I'm using a quad-speaker setup in the rear, so plugging the headset into the rear outputs is out of the question.
    Can anybody help?

  • Case connections to Mobo..Help

Hey guys I could use your help.
I am putting this new system together and there are three different sets of wires from the case on the ChiefTec Dragon case and no instructions. I understand the main set of wires which are the HDD LED, Power LED, Power Switch, Reset Switch, and Speaker connections which are all labeled. There is another wire that is a thick, blue wire with a flat, 9-pin connector on the end. Any idea what this is for? There is also a third set of wires with four connectors on the end. One is a single-pin ground, one lead is a two-pin ground, and the other two leads are 3-pin connectors that say: +D, -D, and +5v.
Are these wires used at all with this case?
    Thanks
    Mike

  • First build issues with Thermaltake case connections

I have a Thermaltake Tsunami Dream case with single pin connectors for ieee1394 Firewire and Audio front panel jacks.  I've been wondering if there isn't some kind of block plug that fits the MSI Headers?  Then I could fit the single pins into the block connectors before plugging into the mainboard.
That would be much easier than trying to fit the single pins into the mobo after it is in the case, wouldn't it?  Is there any such single pin to block connector?
The single pins pigtails are because the mainboards don't make standard headers, so it would seem to be something that should be included with the motherboard retail package, shouldn't it?
Seems like such a small item that could save so much trouble for new builders.
Also, the front USB2 connectors are two 5-pin inline blocks that seem to combine into one 10 (or really 9) pin header.  I'm reading that one of the grounds (pin 10) must be disconnected in order for the usb ports to work correctly.  Is that correct?  If so, why is there not an adapter for that also?
It would be a simple thing to include the correct block connector for the usb fron panel connections that are non standard to the MSI blocks, and then so many people wouldn't be screaming about usb not working, or audio problems with the fron panel connections.
I just don't understand why such easy problems to fix aren't included with the retail box?
But then what does a new builder know?  I'm just asking for opinions from those who know the way of these strange things.
Oh, and if there are such block to single pin adapters, who makes or sells them?  Maybe Newegg?  CompUsa?
    Thanks for any feedback.

    onebyte ,
Given the variety of different pin outs used by both case & mobo manufacturers I prefer the single pin solution to ensure usb & 1394 setup is correct. Having spent some time over xmas moving to a new case with these connectors I have some sympathy with what you say. I actually used cellotape to bind the pins into pairs which made inserion easier.
But yes a small plastic frame through which the pins could be placed and held together, then inserted to the Mobo header would be useful.

  • Case connections for MS 5185

I downloaded the user manual for my 5185 board, but the pins in the manual are different than mine ( I have 16 pins, the manual has 18).  Does anybody know how I can tell which ones to use?  Is it safe to just try out different combinations?

I have the exact same board here. The manual gives the pinout for JFP2 (18 pins, pins 2,9, and 11 missing). The board has only JFP1 populated (16 pins, pin 2 missing). There does not appear to be a 1:1 correspondence between the pins.
By trial and error, I have identified pin 5 as being related to the power switch. I'm still looking for the reset switch and speaker pins.
    Anyone else run into this?

  • Case Connections

I have a new K7T Turbo VIA KT133A MB. I have it all hooked up except the case connectors ( Power, Reset, Etc). I dont have a manual, so I was looking on the net, all the diagrams I have seen show the same JF_P1 connector, which is different then the one on this board.
        o o o o o o o o (1)
        o x o o o o o o
    (16)
    (x= no pin present)
That is a quick diagram of my connector.
If you have a link to a place where I can view a more accurate diagram please post, or if you have any other helpful info.
    Thanks.

Ok, I jumpered the Green and Grey pins and applied poweer to the power supply, one of the 2 fans spun a few times and stopped.
    CMOS isnt in clear state.
Neither of the above answer why the diagram of the above board, isnt for this board. There seems to be 5 different K7T boards. The one I have has 5 PCI slots, and only 2 IDE slots. and no CNR slot. MS-6330 version 2.1.

  • Cannot find the Power Led connector for JFP1 to connect on K8N Neo FSR

    Hi,
I have just bought the MSI K8N Neo FSR (MS 7030) to build a new computer with (amongst others) an Athlon 64 3000 processor and an Enermax 3051 case.
I can't even get a start: if I click on "Power" I just get a red light under the Power button for 1 second and nothing start.
This may be related with the fact that I did not find a "Power LED" connector for JFP1 (I have connected all the others connectors, including the Power LED one for JFP2).
Thank you in advance for your help.
    Precisions:
At the beginning, I had forgotten to connect the ATX 12V power connector on JPW1.
After having done that without getting an improvement, I did a Clear CMOS (after having unplug the power cable).
Now the CPU fan begins to turn just when I switch the power on from back of the case (and not from the power button) and stops turning after five seconds.
Sometimes, I get an orange light during 1/2 second on the D-bracket LEDs.

evidently if he fixed it, the solution was posted elsewhere
so what have you tried so far? has this system ever worked?
post your PSU specs. try powering up board outside the case in case there is a short somewhere
I have tried a different power unit, different JFP1 configerations, removing and replacing MB battery, changing the jumper settings on JBAT1 to clear CMOS.
Everything is just dead, no power anywhere. I get the fan light inside the Power unit to light up for 1 second when i connect the power cable and thats it. Its a 450 Watt power unit so it should be plenty. Maybe i will try removing the board and starting it that way.
This system has never worked, i just built it.

  • Audigy 2 ZS and normal front case/panel ac97 connecti

    Hello,
I've always been curious if the Audigy 2 ZS (model SB0350) which I have has the capability of using standard case connections for front case connectors such as audio/mic inputs/outputs. For example, most standard cases have plugs in the front for a headset/mic, and the cables for these usually plug into the motherboard using the onboard soundcard.
I've noticed on the Audigy 2 ZS card that I have that is has many alternate connections for things such as the creative front panel, firewire, joystick ad many other alternate cd/aux inputs.
There is also a white connector which has the reference "J" on the top left hand corner of the card containing a total of 0 pins. Apparantly this is just a standard analogue audio input/output which is exactly what I was looking for. People have had success using this connector to do the job that I was always curious about.
My question is, is there a connector/cable available from Creative to plug into this socket. I've looked all over the net and had no luck finding one. Why would it be placed on the card if it was never planned to be used for anything? Some people have come up with a pinout for it and what each pin does.. anonymously but where did they get this information from?
Any help would be appreciated on the availability of a cable for this socket, what was its intended use etc. Hopefully someone clear up this question mark in my head
    Regards,
    Mark

Seems like Creative should have this kind of information available in a spec sheet somewhere.
Not really. Only reason those connectors are there in the first place is because of Dell.

  • Can I share my internet connection via wifi AND use my wireless printer at the same time?

Not completely familiar with  wifi capabilities. I have this new setup in my office. I want to share my iMac internet connection via wifi so I can text and check emails using my iPhone (no cell service inside the building). Which works fine. However, I now cannot print wirelessly to my HP printer (LaserJet Pro 400 color). Once Internet sharing is off, I can print just fine. Any other wireless options, or just go get a long USB cable?

    Hi,
It is not a multitasking printer, other devices may keep it therefore the best option in this case: connect it to your wireless router and all devices which are conntected to this router can sahre the printer.
    Regards.

  • Clean Access Server could not establish a secure connection

I have a OOB Real IP GW setup on v4.1.2
I seem to have a problem with the CAS connecting to the CAM although I have added the CAS to the CAM and can manage the CAS from the CAM.
I noticed while troubleshooting client authentication that the client was not being redirected to the logon web page and it had full access to the trusted network from the untrusted authentication vlan. I eventually figured out that if I change the CAS Filter Fallback method from Allow to ignore then it tries to authenticate the client. However the fact that the fallback is activated tells you that something is not right.
    I have 2 problems:
    A) The clients web page is redirected for authentication but it only lists the domain name in the URL and not the hostname or host IP. In the lab I do not have a DNS server and it would not help as it does not include the hostname in the URL anyway. How do I fix this or perhaps it's related to the 2nd problem.
    B) When I manually change the URL by replacing the domain name with the IP of the CAS (untrusted OOB Real IP GW) then I get the following error message when logging on:
    Network Error:
Clean Access Server could not establish a secure connection to Clean Access Manager at mydomain.com.
This could be due to one or more of the following reasons: 1) Clean Access Manager certificate has expired 2) Clean Access Manager certificate cannot be trusted or 3) Clean Access Manager cannot be reached.
Please report this to your network administrator.
I would guess the culprit is No 2 but surely the system can run on self signed certificates? I have an NTP server so time is in sync. I have even tried regenerating the cetificates on the CAM
    & CAS.
    Any ideas?

To overcome problem B, I regenerated the SSL Certificates using the host IP address instead of the name for all the CAM & CAS appliances. This seems to have resolved this problem.
I also SSH'd from each of the CAS's to each of the CAM's from the CLI and it then prompts to permanently store the certificates. I'm not sure it this was necessary though.

When I connect the LaCie to the 800 port, it mounts and works fine. But as soon as I connect the Seagate to the 400 port, the LaCie icon disappears and I get a message about improper removal of a device.
