JFrame "white" vs. Applet "white"

I'm using a JFrame to make an applet go full screen but the background color for the JFrame is different than the "white" I'm using in the applet. Does anybody know why or the color values for the JFrame "white"?

The only difference between the two, aside from the hard drive, is the color of the plastic used in the visible case parts. Both have tough polycarbonate outer shells the color of which does nothing to determine their resistance to cracks or deformation. The employee was either mistaken, confused, or there was a misunderstanding about what was said. (It may have been about the newer design vs. the older one, but that would apply to both case colors.)
This "fully loaded" model, distinctive color thing is nothing new: Apple was doing it with early CRT-type iMacs around 1999 or 2000. Auto makers like Honda have been doing it for at least as long, offering certain paint/trim color combinations only on its high end models.

  • Can't move files - white circle with white line through it?

    OsX 10:4:10
    Suddenly I cannot move files from one drive to another, or from drive to desktop. Recently updated everything.
    White circle with white line through it appears.
    Network awaiting news footage. I'm stuck. What might this be?
    Any help would be most appreciated,
    Ben

    Hi megagram & dreed2,
    Thanks for staying with me on this.
    USB drive and errant file both have 'read and write' clicked. There is no 'ownership' choice in the info pop-up.
    Nor is there 'Ignore ownership on this volume' choice for the USB drive.
    I'm using an administrator account. I created a 'root' account, but it didn't seem to have any effect - didn't fix the problem. (I don't like messing around with 'root' account stuff.)
    I'm not running as a 'client in a Mac OSX Server environment'. Just as an 'admin' with the one tower and a rotating bunch of external drives (projects).
    I did a work-around for now ... shipped the 'unmoveable' file out to an ftp site (it would allow me to do this), and I haven't heard if the downloaded file is causing any problems on the other end (yet).
    If I come across a solution I'll post. It may have something weird to do with that funky drive (now returned to its owner), and me creating this particular file that same day as the funky drive was giving me problems. (Though the file was not ON the drive.)
    And the (almost new) computer did go down for a day last week ... would not reboot ... took it to the shop, nothing wrong with it, brought it home, it's been working fine ever since. Go figure.
    Thank you kindly for all your suggestions...
    Ben

  • White: not so white after export...

    Working with a pilates video, it's shot against white background,but some elements like the foot of a tripod is still shown in the edge of the pic.
    I begun working with this in CS3 but after upgrading im now in CS4. Anyways, i've fixed the problem with the tripod showing in the picture by adding a white box on top of it in post but now when i export it in CS4 (media encoder) the white box appears to be somewhat grey...
    This never accurred in CS3 when exporting. And now i can't open the project in CS3 anymore since i've been working with it and saving it in CS4...
    Anyone have an idea how to fix this? for your information, im editing in 1080(50i), exporting to SD DVD, PAL. The white box is completely white (255,255,255) but it looks like it's grey compared to the white background from the video... Also I haven't used any ICC profile or anything like that. I've also tried making the box in the title editor with the same result...
    Im kinda stressed out about this so if anyone have any idea, let me know.
    Edit: Im only interessted in making the box color match the background, i'vre read stuff about white not being white after export in other threads but my only concern is the mismatch that causes me problem. Problem that has occured after updating to cs4.

    Thanks for the suggestions. Using Garbage matte to mask away the tripod will give the same result as putting a white box on top of the picture, i tried that. I still have to make that white base underneath the masked layer.
    I think it has to do with the export. The white box as well as the underlaying layer (when masking) end up gray compared to my video background which is white.
    Maby is has something to do with the background in the video beeing over exposed and therefore not 'considered' white by premiere?
    Also, have in mind that this problem occurred after upgrading to CS4 .

    You can't change it within the OS. There may be some apps which will do it. Search Dock on MacUpdate.
    But all these types of haxies come with possible risk.

    My IPod touch 4g screen is FROZEN turned white , with green , white & yellow lines .
    No connect to itunes , OnOff button & home button DOESN`T WORK? -
    While installing an update for my IPod touch 4g ( that I`ve had for around over a year )
    and turned it off while it was " updating " . I turned it on a while after ,
    and it was on the apple symbol and then suddenly went to the white screen with the green ,
    white and yellow lines from top to bottom . I`ve waited around 2 and a half hours for it to go back .
    I`ve tried to connect it to itunes , but won`t connect nor effect the ipod screen .
    I`ve also tried the on and off button held and holding the home button as well .
    Nothing is working and I`m begging to worry .  it's my baby sister's ipod and she's crying already she doesn't know

    Try:
    - iOS: Not responding or does not turn on
    - Also try DFU mode after try recovery mode

    - If not successful and you can't fully turn the iPod fully off, let the battery fully drain. After charging for an least an hour try the above again.
    - If still not successful that indicates a hardware problem and an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store is in order.

  • My ipod touch screen has gone white with bright white spots, I have restored it but it is still white.  It shows in ITunes but I cant do anything with it.  Can anyone help please

    My Ipod touch screen has gone white with bright white spots on it.  I have restored it and it shows in ITunes but the screen is still white.  Is there anything I can do? The warranty has run out so I will have to pay for any repairs (if it can be repaired).  Any help would be much appreciated.  Thank you in advance.

    If you still have problems after restoring the iPod to factory defaults/new iPod then you very likely have a hardware problem.  I would make an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store.

  • When I turn on my ipod touch the screen goes white and stays white.

    When I turn on my ipod touch the screen goes white and stays white.  It plays but all I see on the screen is white.  I cannot change anything.

    It iTunes is asking to enter the passcode then:
    - A data recovery company may be able to help
    - Restore the iPhone from the backup of the iPod. You can then get the data off and then retore the iPhone from the backup of the iPhone.

  • White is not white The white in my photoshop is no longer white, it is creamy/yellow?

    I have reinstalled photoshop cs3 onto a new pc (windoows 8).  bridge etc show my white as white but photoshop whites are creamy.  Please help

    Edit in Photoshop an image that you think should be white (my border in the shot below) select the colour picker tool and the colour chart comes up,. Move the colour picker onto what should by the white area and #FFFFFF should show (as below) . If it doesn't then it isn't white
    If you use Firefox browser you can also check the colour on the screen (on the web) by using the Colour Zilla addon, which does a similar thing (but not in PS obviously)
    If the colour is white but it doesn't look it on your monitor you either have a colour profile problem, or your monitor is wonked.

    If I'm being unclear, please let me know. The main thing I would like to change is the bookmarks library window background color, since the bookmarks library is unusable as is. It's the big resizable window right here...
    Bookmarks > Unsorted Bookmarks > Library
    The window that shows all of your bookmarks [and history].
    The background is glaring bright white, so the text (in my dark scheme) is invisible.

    I can use userChrome if I know the identifier of the library window background color. So I'm going to try the "DOM Inspector" add-on. I guess it's supposed to tell us what the identifier is.
    Thanks.

  • Open a JFrame from an applet

    I have an applet in which I have a JButton.
    When you click the button, I want a new window to open with a JFrame. Is that possile?
    I've written as follow but nothing happens when I click the button.
    1. In the applet, I've written:
    public class MyApplet extends Applet {
    if (e.getActionCommand() == myButton) {
    frame.getContentPane().add(new Blabla(), BorderLayout.CENTER);
    2. In the frame, I've written:
    public class Blabla extends JFrame {

    Thanks.
    Now a new window is opened when I click the button, but it's empty....
    In the frame I have a container, is that a problem? I don't know where to put "your":
    "getContentPane().setLayout(new BorderLayout());"
    I've written:
    public class Blabla extends JFrame {
    boolean inAnApplet = true;
    private boolean laidOut = false;
    private JButton b1, b2, b3;
    private JLabel fnamn;
    public Blabla() {
    Container contentPane = getContentPane();
    contentPane.setLayout(null);
    b1 = new JButton("some text");
    contentPane.add(b1);

  • When my ipod touch (3rd gen) displays an white image, a whiter spot appears on the screen?

    It only appears when displaying light images, and i have only just noticed it a few days ago. My ipod touch is running iOS5.0.1
    If you have had this problem, please tell me how you fixed it.
    It's not a dead pixel, it's just a small circle of pixels that seem to be a noticably different shade of white than the others.
    My ipod is under 2 years old now, so the warranty is void.

    You can try the standard fixes to rule out a software problem:
    - Reset. Nothing will be lost.
    Reset iPod touch:  Hold down the On/Off button and the Home button at the same time for at
    least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears
    - Restore from backup
    - Restore to factry defaults/new iPod.
    If you still have the problem then repair/replacement is required if you do not want to live with it.

  • How do I work a Black & White image so White stays white & black becomes transparent

    My situation (note white border is part of image and must remain white)  I want to place that image (a QR Code) over photos so the white remains to define the code and the black parts become transparent so the color of the image (that I place this QR code over) will be the actual code color instead of black :-O
    someone just doing it for me would be nice HOWEVER I Really want to learn how to do it my self as I have more to do :-)
      Thank You  ............  Dennis

    Is it me or…why would anyone use photoshop for this process?
    place your QR code image over another image and select both and make it an opacity mask
    Then make it an inverted opacity mask
    Or place it over a white rectangle closed path filled with white and make it a simple uninverted opacity mask
    The actual selected masked arts bounding boxes are not showing but they are selected.
    James Talamage has pointed out on several occasions that an image can be used as an opacity mask.
    As I have done here.
